Izuku midoriya was bored. they tried to be engaged, but it was so hard. They were in the same house again. they had reset the timeline once more, and They were once again experiencing the day of his quirk awakening. He knew that his asshole father would be in the next room over, smoking his disgusting cigars. He knew that his father would would go into his room and attempt to smother him in his sleep in ten minutes. He decided to mess around.
"hello , Hisashi midoriya, date of birth april 3rd at 2:20 PM natural date of death december 2nd at 4:36 PM" he dropped his coffee and spit out his cigar.
"H-how did you- Izuku whirled around util They were in front of his father.
"Not important, now, I know you want to get rid of that kid of yours, I'll just take a little something of yours and make him disappear. Nobody will ever know."
Immediately, his demeanor changed. He shook Izuku's hand without hesitation. Izuku smiled, not that anyone could tell without knowing his new form well. In an instant, Izuku midoriya was gone from all records and memories. Then, hisashi midoriya's soul was torn from his body and then destroyed, killing him instantly. There was no remorse. Hisashi had done too much, on top of izuku not being able to feel any sort of emotion anyway. Izuku left his sperm donor to rot in his armchair, with no signs for a coroner to find.
Izuku searched through the many eyes of portraits and pictures until he found something interesting. A brown haired girl sitting on a meager bed praying that her parents would get a job so they could keep their business afloat. Never been here before. He thought, somewhat exited. He decided to investigate.
Ochako POV
Uraraka Ochako was having a bad day. Her parents ran a construction company, and had fallen on hard times. Her stomach growled, having long since processed the toast and tea lunch that she had had as her only meal today. She was finishing her prayer for some jobs for her parents when a odd, echoing voice that seemed to be many voices layered on top of each other sounded. As she glanced over her shoulder, she started at the fact that an odd, glitching form was hovering not ten feet behind her. Its form flickered between a small boy, an odd yellow triangle, a demented spider creature, a short ventriloquism-esque puppet, an elongated dark phantom with yellow glowing eyes, and a small flower with a too-innocent smile. Somehow sThey were seeing all these forms at once, and her brain was rejecting the image. She watched as the thing seemingly read her mind and stabilized into a tiny yellow flower with a face growing out of her floor. Then the thing spoke in its same, multifaceted voice.
"Hello, Uraraka "Uravity" Ochako." Now Ochako was terrified. She hadn't even told her parents she wanted to become a hero, much less her hero name. She didn't know this strange figure that seemed to be many and nobody at the same time.
"Oh you're hungry. I can provide" says the strange flower. For some reason she suddenly felt many times hungrier than she did a minute ago. Then, from the ground grew a banquet table, laden heavy with sushi, mochi, ice creams and katsudon. She was suspicious of this strange figure, but her stomach forced her to eat. After she had shoved a full third of the banquet down her throat, she regained agency over her body. She moved to shout to her parents about the miraculous food.
"They can't hear you" Ochako still hadn't gotten used to this strange being being able to- well not read, but just know everything that she was thinking.
" " for an instant, the room was gone, the flower was gone, replaced by an endless purple abyss and a snakelike phantom with glowing eyes and a mischievous smile wrapped around her, the breath stolen from her lungs and her muscles constricting in terror. The voice was much louder now, it was as if an entire choir of slightly discordant voices were all within 5 feet of her. Then, as if it had never happened, the room and banquet were back, and Ochako was half sure that she had hallucinated it.
"Now, we can get to the juicy stuff. What do you want most in the world? Money? Power? Fame? Love? Death? A genie in a bottle? The figure kept listing things and they kept replacing food items on the table, each on a gilded gold and silver platter that was probably worth a months worth of rent. She reached for one, but no matter how far she stretched her arm, she never seemed to get any closer.
"Now, you can have any of these things. We just have to make a [deal]." its speech was tinny and warped for the last few words.
Ochako was overwhelmed at this point. She curled into herself, sobbing.
"I-I just want my parents to be successful." The thing nodded, acquiescing.
"Just shake my hand and agree to do me a solid later and it'll be reality" Ochako was scared of this figure, but this opportunity was too good to pass up. She shook the thing's glowing hand and suddenly it disappeared. Ochako jolted awake and decided that it was just a dream. Her stomach felt oddly full. And then her parent's business phone started ringing. Her mom went to pick it up. She saw the disbelief on her face, and then the glee and elation. A small phone receiver appeared next to her. Her parents didn't seem to notice it, but she put it to her ear. The voice came through in a whisper.
"Well how about that, eh? If you want to reach me for another deal, just pick up the phone. Nobody else can see it."
It was 10 years before Ochako ever felt the need to call the phone. She was always tempted to do it every day. So much power at her fingertips. But the strange being had never called in that favor, and she still never knew what she was going to have to do. Her parents were running a hugely successful building corporation, and she knew that she had the Dealmaker to thank for it. It was only when her home was broken into by people looking for HER that she dared to touch the glossy black surface of the old-fashioned telephone beside her. In an instant, the being from before was in front of her, and, again read her mind. He summoned glowing words beside him reading: I'll help. Just let me take something from them. She shook the thing's leafy stalk of a hand once again glowing hand, and awoke with a jolt. This time, the figure was still there. It disappeared into the floor and not ten seconds later, she heard screams of terror and torment, and then nothing. When she walked out into the living room, she saw a horrifying eldritch being with multiple tiered pyramids and vines along every crack. The horror was complete when she saw the thing was crawling with spiders, and ghosts seemed to be flowing in and out of the thing. It seemed to be suspended by thousands of glistening strings, hung from who knows where. And to surmount it all, a television screen with a human head in constant torment atop a warped human head with a single enourmous eye, easily her size, and full sets of human teeth set up vertically, a full 90 degrees off regular. Eyes blinked open and closed seemingly at random, all over its body. She saw one of the thing's many black clawed arm reach out and yank something out of one of the men's chest. As it was absorbed, the thing seemed to grow bigger. The corpse was dropped onto the ground. There was no blood. Just a wound that was black as night. The hole looked as if some inky vine had set its roots, all the veins around it running with that same black substance that coated the wound. Then it slowly shrank down, resuming the form of a phantom, then a spider, before settling back to the flower. The bodies disappeared as if they were never there, and the window that was forced open repaired itself.
The thing flashed into human form, walked over to Ochako and waved hello. It smiled, but the warmth never reached its eyes, those eyes, behind pink and rose sunglasses that seemed to hide the glowing yellow and red orbs.
"Hello Ochako- I knew you'd call."
"Who are you, really?"
"Oh terribly sorry, you can call me Izuku, or simply DealMaker." The thing seemed to be satisfied with that Introduction. Then simply disappear, as if he had never been there
"Dealmaker, Interesting." she muttered under her breath.
Nezu was curious. He had seen on the security cameras that three men had broken Into the Uraraka mansion. He had seen the daughter and hero course candidate hide in a closet. He saw her frantically search for anything around the size of a phone receiver and hold it to her ear, talking to it like it was a person. Then, the robbers seemed terrified, were thrown around the room like ragdolls, and gained holes in their chests that seemed to bleed black, as if their lifeblood was replaced with ink. He heard Ochako address an invisible something, and mutter Dealmaker. He had heard that term in passing, from people from all walks of life, suddenly gaining a strange ability, or wealth, or love, or changing drastically in appearance. A eldritch being that appeared to those who are desperate, and made deals. Deals that were almost always too good to be true, and yet the thing always followed through on its end of the bargain. As if by magic, a small flower sprouted in the pot of marigolds on his desk.
"Hello Nezu. I think I just heard my name."
