I do not own any character for Azumanga Daioh, nor do I own any character from the Dragon Ball franchise. This is purely for entertainment purposes.
"This will change everything…"
Thus were the words of a lone Saiyan warrior as he charged a bright blue energy blast in his palm. He was battered. He was bloody. He was beaten. Yet he nonetheless stood his ground against the unfathomably powerful galactic warlord, Emperor Frieza. The Saiyan's name was Bardock and although he was unsure of his victory, he continued to fight for the freedom of him, his people, and his planet. In response to the ball of energy Bardock clutched in his hands, Frieza summoned a colossal orb of fiery raging death with just one finger. Sweat ran down Bardock's face as he stood at the precipice of annihilation and grasped the ki blast he hoped would put an end to the destruction of his people. Frieza merely laughed.
"This is the end of the line!", Bardock roared as he launched his fully charged attack with every ounce of strength he could muster, flinging it full force at the giant fireball. Frieza gently flicked his finger forwards. The flaming fireball heeded its master, as it effortlessly swallowed Bardock's attack. Bardock froze in terror. All his effort and power, it amounted to nothing before the tyrant. He stood no chance. He was swallowed whole by Frieza's attack as the warlord's mocking laugh painfully rang in his ears.
But as Bardock died, he had a vision. He was plagued by visions before this fight - it was how he knew Frieza would destroy his home world - and this one was similar. As Bardock's burning corpse was torn to pieces, he saw a vision that his son, Kakarot, would one day grow up and finally take Frieza down. The Saiyan race may have gone almost extinct, but the knowledge that his own son would continue his fight and avenge the Saiyan race in the future, allowed Bardock to rest easy and smile even as he was burning to death.
But just before Bardock was completely wiped out, he had one more vision. He saw 2 young girls standing opposite each other. They appeared to be throwing a ball at each other and trying to catch it… but they kept throwing the ball too far and failing to catch it…
"Wait, who the hell were they?", Bardock asked, "WHO THE HELL WERE THEY?!"
Bardock's screams were drowned out by the fiery explosion of Planet Vegeta's destruction. Planet Vegeta, along with the Saiyan race, died in a superb display of fireworks. Bardock had failed to change the future. Bardock was completely eradicated. Thus was the fate of the Saiyan warrior that challenged fate itself.
"Phew, finally home…", sighed a woman in her late 20s as she opened the door to her house. Her name was Minamo Kurosawa, and she had just returned home from a long day at school. She was almost late to the first day of the new school year and on top of that she introduced herself to the wrong class before going to her actual class, so safe to say it was pretty stressful. She was fully ready to sit back, relax, and take a nice long nap. She opened the door to her room and…
"You! Do you live here? Tell me, where the hell am I?!", demanded the gruff voice of a muscular man with strange hair sitting directly in the middle of her room. He was wearing a strange black and green vest that looked to be made out of a strange metal. He was also wearing plain black trousers and what looked like red leg warmers. His armbands and headband were both red, but the headband was a darker red, almost as if it was previously wet, but had now dried. Kurosawa could barely even process the situation. Who the hell was this guy? And why did he have such a weird outfit? Finally she spoke.
"Can you get out of my house please.", Kurosawa politely asked while pointing at the door.
"And go where?", Bardock responded, "I don't have a home! I don't even know where I am! I was just about to die! What happened to me?!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you're homeless? And you were about to die? And what is that outfit, are you a cosplayer or an alien?"
"Listen, get me an escape pod and we can both forget this ever happened."
"...I can get you a taxi, is that good?"
"Wha…what the heck is a taxi? Just tell me how to leave this damn planet! I need to find Frieza and take him down!"
"...huh? Frieza? What are yo- Okay can you GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!?"
"I…There's no way….", Bardock stuttered, dumbfounded. He thought it to be impossible, but could it be that he… travelled to another planet? If he really did go to another planet, then he had to gain this woman's trust so that she could tell him how to get off this planet. The only problem was that she already thinks he's insane! Bardock tried to reason with her, "Alright listen, I'm… sorry about the way I acted, I'm… new here and also… uhhh… I am actually homeless, yeah."
"Right… I still don't know who you are?"
"Oh… well you see…. Uhh….", Bardock stuttered. It seemed he had already backed himself into a wall earlier. Kurosawa waited for Bardock's answer and Bardock simply sighed, "Alright, you can see that my outfit is different from whatever you're wearing. You saw just now that I was freaking out. I'm going to genuinely explain who I am and where I come from. Just please… listen to what I have to say."
Is Bardock really going to relay his actual origins to this random lady? Will she even believe him? More importantly, is Bardock really stuck on this planet? Find out in the next chapter!
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'm drowning under university work and I probably should be focusing on that instead of this, but I love Dragon Ball and Azumanga Daioh so I just felt this sudden urge to write a fanfic like this. I've never even written a fanfic before, but there's a first time for everything I guess. I will definitely be trying to finish this whole thing, I have most of it planned out anyways so all I have to do is write it. Again, thank you for reading this far.
