PD: Hiii! I made this short story to get myself back into the swing of things. If there's any errors, I apologize. I hope you enjoy regardless!

Above the Heavens

On a sleepy little island out in the middle of nowhere far from any mainland region in the world, a small, fuzzy, soft, pink feline Pokemon happily flies through a thick forest without a care in the world for anything but his playtime. This Pokemon's name is Mew, and though considered to be a mirage by many and even non-existent to skeptical people, he is well known by all the Pokemon on the island that happen to live with him. With the sun shining almost directly overhead in the middle of the noon on this fine spring day, for him, it was no holds barred for playing hard. Usually he'd end up swimming in the ocean or using his psychic abilities to create large tree forts and the such, but not today; his adventurous spirit calls and having had enough of the ground for one day, he's decided that flying high into the sky will suit him better this time around. As he narrowly avoids nasty cuts and scrapes from tree branches and bushes coming at him thanks to his high speed, he thinks to himself about how fun it'll be when he gets above the clouds, though this endeavor will have to wait as hunger calls him to his house; a large tree that towers over every other tree on the island with enough room for hundreds of other wild Pokemon to live there. Surprisingly, the entire tree is his home, and rumor has it that this tree would die if he were to die, but since that hasn't happened, it is merely a rumor and nothing more.

"Oh boy, I can't wait until lunchtime is over! I'll be able to fly into the clouds and play there all day!" He thinks to himself as he rapidly approaches his home, wind battering his short, fluffy fur and pushing it all around in many directions. He instantly changes direction and ascends up into the sky, following the length of the tree trunk, and before long, shoots through an open window of his that coincidentally happens to be a room that houses a huge pile of many different berry species he had picked himself when he wasn't playing. He slowly levitates over to a pile of pink berries and with his short paws, grabs three of them and starts eating them. "Mmm! Peka bewwies awe the breast!" he squeaks out of his full mouth, a little berry juice spitting out as he tries saying this. He spends maybe a total of four minutes eating these three berries and then bounds out of the window he entered previously.

He rubs his hands together and looks around for a few moments, then puts his attention onto the sky above filled with fluffy, light, powdery looking clouds. There aren't enough of them to block out the sun, but there's enough there to make his trip above interesting. "Look out, clouds, I'm coming for you now!" he giddily says, taking off at breakneck speed, ascending towards his destination. As he climbs into the sky, the curious desire to look down overcomes him, and with his big, baby blue colored eyes, looks behind and down at the island he usually occupies becoming smaller with each passing second. He giggles, "My island is starting to get really small… I hope I'll fit in it when I come back!" amused, he laughs and looks back at where he's going, noticing the clouds are coming closer and closer. Instinctively, he holds his left paw out in front of him as far as it can, trying to reach for the clouds… and suddenly, he goes right through one!

A cool, damp, spritzy feeling of moisture washes over his entire body upon entering the cloud, something he wasn't expecting! He stops in place and shivers slightly; he wasn't expecting such a cold welcome to his presence. "Whoa, it's real cool up here…" He looks around and can't see anything but white all over. Below him is white, above him is white, to his left and right is white, everything is white! "I can't see anything! I think I might be lost!" he puts both of his paws over his mouth and muffles his laughter, then takes them away and twirls around. "Nooo, I'm not lost… I'm just inside the cloud, and if I keep going up, I bet I'll see something that's fun!" He dashes off, continuing to go up again and as he ascends further, the moisture in the cloud beats down on his face similar to when he flies through the rain, hydrating and giving a glistening shine to his fur; he won't need to take any baths when he goes back home!

He sticks both of his paws out to his sides and though faint, he can see a thick, white trail being left behind as his paws catch and push aside a little bit of the cloud. Before long, the whiteness around him starts becoming lighter, signifying that he's coming closer to the opposite end of the cloud and in turn, will literally be above the heavens shortly. A wide smile dances along his face knowing this, and he does a barrel roll, unable to contain himself. Suddenly, whoosh! He rockets out from the other side of the cloud, leaving a thick trail behind him for a few seconds, and now above the clouds, it's even cooler than before, but unlike inside them, the air up here is dry and has a completely different feeling.

Stopping in place, a whole bunch of water droplets get flung airborne and reflect the sun's light, casting tons of sparkles all over the place for a brief moment, and he looks down at the clouds that're now below him for the first time. He's so used to seeing clouds above him and now, he's the one that they have to look up to see. "Wow, I can't see the ground anymore. That's so weird." He's tempted to fly just above the clouds as he's seen movies and TV shows where characters do that and it looks really cool, so he floats down to the point his feet are ever so slightly inside the clouds, and then starts flying straight forward. Though his body is small, it displaces them enough to create the effect he was looking for. He flips over to look behind and sure enough, a misty trail follows closely behind him. "Haha! This is so cool!"

Engrossed with this simple amusement, he doesn't notice that, several hundred feet above him, another Pokemon flies overhead. A long, green, dragon-like Pokemon with sharp claws and fearsome teeth; their "domain" rests on the clouds and beyond into outer space. Normally they never come anywhere near the surface of the clouds, but today, they've decided to take it easy… until their yellow colored eyes spot the pink feline quickly blasting a trail through their "home". Having their territory invaded like this makes them angry, but they can't really make out what Pokemon it is from where they are, and so, they start descending down to check them out.

Mew stops his little cloud trail and levitates up a bit to hover above the surface of the clouds, completely unaware of the large Pokemon rapidly approaching his location, and by the time their large shadow grabs his attention, it's too late. The pink feline looks up at the one blocking out the sun and staring him right in the face is the fearsome dragon, Rayquaza. Usually, anyone invading his territory never tries to invade again, but instead of a terrible fight breaking out, Mew immediately recognizes and happily greets him. "Rayquaza! What're you doing here?"

He growls a little, not from anger, but because his voice is a bit scratchy. "I've been trying to take it easy lately. It's quite hot in space if you didn't know, and sometimes I like coming down here to feel the cold air on my scales."

"Space is hot? But I thought it was cold because it doesn't have air or clouds like we do!"

He chuckles and points up with his right claw. "The atmosphere is what keeps us cool here, but when you go as high as I can go, it gets really hot."

"Oh, that makes sense." The little feline does a quick loop-de-loop, though he really doesn't understand that much. He wasn't the smartest Pokemon out there to begin with since he always cared more about playing, which gives him an idea. "Hey, you can fly super high and fast. Can you take me all the way up to space?"

He smiles, and though terrifying looking normally, his smile makes him appear goofy. "Sure! Hop onto my head and hold on tight." he also remembers that Mew can't quite breathe in the exosphere of the planet. "Don't forget your little air bubble. You can't breathe up that far in the atmosphere."

"Okie dookie!" Using his psychic abilities, he covers himself in a pink bubble filled with oxygen for him to breathe, then flies onto Rayquaza's back and grabs hold of one of the horns sticking out of his head. "Alright, let's go!"

"Here we go!" Thanks to his massive size and better flying abilities, he ascends many times faster than Mew ever could, and the two fly off into the sun, leaving the world below behind in favor of a trip to space.
