This is Fan Fiction people. There's going to be clichés and ideas that have been used before. Unless your brand new to fan fiction, then I think we can agree we have read a loooooot of stories. So...many... As a result of that those ideas seep into our minds and inspire us. If you recognize something chances are I read something similar and it got stuck in my brain. Hell, that's why even fan fiction exists. Someone read a book and went "but what if this happened?" or thought "oooh but what if this character did this?" Hell the best example? Dumbledore. Evil Dark Lord, "cant see the tree in the forest" Good Guy, Or a man who is good or bad but just wants to protect his world. And many many others.

A sharp bell note rang out as the screen flashed. Wincing I read the screen my eyebrow slowly raising higher and higher with each sentence.

I felt my eye twitch At some of my so called titles. "Manipulator?! It was one person and I did it to save their life!" I twitch and slowly look at the screen as it pulses. "Oh come on!" I cry out pointing.
"Manipulator"
"That's even worse!" The screen stays the same as I grumble. I think about the other titles. I did always have a sense of fair play so long as my opponent did as well. And it wasn't adventures per say but the things I could discover and learn while traveling. Finding things no one else had seen, learning about old cities and cultures. I loved it all! I snort a bit at two of them though. 'Eternal bachelor is right' I think to myself, 'There was no one who could keep up with me, and I wasn't exacting I just wasn't willing to teach those who had no respect for learning or knowledge!' I huff and shake my head giving the screen once last glance before clearing my throat and stating with confidence, "Continue!"
Initializing building of personal UPI!
I quickly close my eyes as the bright light fills the area and the sound of rushing air is heard. As the light dims I slowly open my eyes and stare in sheer shock at the scene before me.
I appear to be in a massive circular room, Bookshelves line the walls and the room is tall enough that I cant see the top but I can tell each floor is open in the middle and still surrounded by bookshelves.
As I walk to the center of the room I notice a fireplace with couches around it. I change direction towards it and glance around. I stumble a bit as I catch a glimpse at some of the book titles. Necromancy for dummies, Healing for the accident prone, Where the pointy bit goes! A guide on melee combat, Stitching, Not that kind the kind with cloth! And so many more.
I sit down in a bit of a daze slowly letting my eyes roam along the wall.
"It's quite a sight isn't it?" A soft voice rings out. I leap up and flip over the back of the couch with my arm pulled back ready to strike when suddenly I freeze in shock. A small giggle is the response I get as I stare at something impossible. Sitting on the couch where I just was is a figure that is the purest shade of silver I have ever seen. It bears feminine features, wider hips, softer curves. However the features are indescribable other then a constant shift that feels like its just out of sight. Like looking through a fogged up window. As I open my mouth to respond it speaks again. "Don't worry, You can't see me yet as my appearance is based around yours. However as you haven't chosen a base form yet mine hasn't settled down yet either. I am based around a female version of yourself so as to make sure there will always be someone to back your story up when you go to a new world or universe."
I slowly stand up and come around the couch gently sitting down. I get the feeling that it- No, She is smiling at me. "Thank you, Now introductions are in order!" She continues after clearing her throat, " I am a representation of your personal UPI! I was created to assist you for the first few new worlds and lives. After you gain a way to jump from worlds or universes and not be exhausted by it, I will no longer be required." I can feel a small grain of sadness enter her voice when she says that but its gone before I can say anything, " For now just call me Balance! Are you ready to set up your base form and take a look at the worlds and universe options available to you?"
I think for a moment and look at her, "Is this why I cant seem myself or seem to remember much about my looks or name?" A feeling of concerned seam to radiate from her before she spoke, "Yes, One of the rules is that each being that achieves this gets a fresh start so appearances and names are removed by the system." I chuckles a bit, "Fair enough, since I can't remember it anyways no sense in fretting about it," I tilt my head "So how do we do this?"
She seems to perk up as she waves her hand and a screen with a familiar generic male body appears. As soon as I see it I twitch and look over at her and deadpan. "this is the character creation screen from Skyrim." She chuckles nervously "ah yes, its greatly enhanced but as it's a game you played so much the system chose it for the sake of familiarity." I sigh and roll my eyes, "it's fine, So I just start like usual I'm guessing?" She shakes her head. "first you have to choose your universe and worlds to start in!" She snaps her fingers and the screen minimizes and a new one pops up.

I feel my eyes widen at the options and look at her. "just how many options are there?!" She seems to stare at me and simply said "Yes" I raise an eyebrow, "You mean to tell me that they all exist? and I can go to any of them?" She nods suddenly serious, "yes but remember you will be starting from level one. I would pick one that you know well and believe you can survive in." I tilt my head a bit confused. She seems to understand and points to to the Highschool DxD option. "Do you really think you can face Ophis? Great Red?" I shudder at that thought and she nods, "Pick wisely Dear."
I nod and spend some time considering my options and tweaking different settings for the worlds, some I avoid on instinct I don't want to mess with the gender setting no thank you!
After about half an hour I review the choices I made:
Harry Potter Universe:
Magic is sapient
Magic comes from excess soul energy
Starting location: Down the street from Harry potter
Age(can't change): 10 Years old
Familiar bond (x4)
Founder heritage (strong, Ravenclaw)
I nod satisfied and hit confirm. Balance smiles and pulls up the character screen which seems to have changed with new options and some locked in. "due to some of the options you chose, somethings have been locked in for you." I shrug and look over my character and make a couple changes before taking one last look.
Long silver hair down to my mid back, Aristocrat face shape with a scar cutting across one eye, A fey type beauty, with a swimmer and runner build. I smirk a bit and nod to Balance hitting confirm. "so what's next? I just jump in?"
She chuckles and shakes her head. "Not yet, You have to do one last thing and that is to choose a basic Hub World." She opens a new screen and I see three options:
Hub world:
Empty Town (start with buildings, Stores and essentials unlocked and built but can't expand for 11 world jumps)
Flat void (A never-ending void, Full customization available, No restrictions, Harder to become self sustaining)
The apartment (A simple apartment building that is customizable but can never be more then the single building)
Without even hesitating I select the Flat void. Balance seems a bit shocked "why that option?" She askes confused. I smirk, "anything worth doin is worth doing properly and this way I never run out of space or options" She seems to think before a lightbulb literally appears above her head lighting up before disappearing, "Ahh i get it now!" As she says that she glows a bight silver. I glance away and when i look back she now could pass as my twin "Ah," She sighs in relief, "So much better. Now we're properly linked together!" She smirks and waves her hand as a shimmering silver portal appears in front of us." Well my dear," She stands in front of the portal and holds out her hand, "shall we head out on our journey?" I smirk and take her hand and decided to announce it with style, "But of course Dear sister, It's time for Balance Dubhar and Kettō Dubhar to travel the multiverse! But first we must get what every child wanted growing up" We both grin and step though the portal the world echoing into the abyss
