First off:

Secondly:
This is Fan Fiction people. There's going to be clichés and ideas that have been used before. Unless your brand new to fan fiction, then I think we can agree we have read a loooooot of stories. So...many... As a result of that those ideas seep into our minds and inspire us. If you recognize something chances are I read something similar and it got stuck in my brain. Hell, that's why even fan fiction exists. Someone read a book and went "but what if this happened?" or thought "oooh but what if this character did this?" Hell the best example? Dumbledore. Evil Dark Lord, "cant see the tree in the forest" Good Guy, Or a man who is good or bad but just wants to protect his world. And many many others.
Chapter Note: This chapter is kind of an info dump about the UPI and what it can d it explains what it can do. This story is going to be slower untill he hits about LVL 15-20 to be ready for that. Next chapter will be him actually starting the life he chose
What, What do you mean I don't actually have magic?!
I woke up slowly feeling the comfort of the soft sheets on my skin, slowly stretching. I pause 'Wait a minute.." I bolt upright the memories flashing in my head as I make eye contact with Balance. She smiles softly yet eagerly. "Well morning sleepy" she chuckles with a hint of nervousness. I take a look around and notice the room I'm in seems to have a theme of soft silvers with hints of black and white. "you know Bal, I'm starting to sense a theme here" I raise an eyebrow as I focus back on her, "but that's not important right now." I stare at her intensely. "Did it work?" I notice her wince slightly before she realizes what I called her. Her head tilts a bit "Bal?" she asks. I nod, "Well even in the world of Harry Potter a name like Balance is going to throw people off and if we are to live through what's to come we need to stay as low profile as possible." She slowly nods.
My eyes focus sharply. "Now what went wrong? I noticed that wince which means something happened that you think I wont like." She winces fully this time and rubs the back of her head before sighing.
" Ok before we get that you need to know how your system works before you can understand what happened." Her gaze sharpens become slightly inhumane, " Do Not jump to conclusions by the way," The air seems to rise in temperature, " I am tied to you in ways that can't be broken. If you die I die. I can die and you will live but if you ever die so will I. Got it?" I slowly raise an eyebrow and a small crooked smile appears before disappearing as I nod. The air chills back to normal as her face relaxes. "Good. Now Let's go over what your UPI Actually does and how it works."
She waves her hand and everything takes on a gray sheen out of the corner of my eye I notice a bird frozen in mid air. "This is the most fundamental ability you have. There are two forms. Combat and Non-Combat. As it stand you can only use the Non-Combat version. It's simple and complex. This is the Non-Combat Version." She points to the frozen bird, " Technically despite what you see, your not stopping time. What your doing is moving into a temporary pocket dimension that you only can access where time moves at a slower rate," She raises her hand as I open my mouth, I quickly shut it at the look on her face. "This is vital!" I nod slowly, she squints before continuing, "Time moves at a rate of 32,000,00 to 1" My jaw drops as I try and do the math, She chuckles. "It comes out to just over one second in the real world being one year in here." I sit there in sheer shock. She nods, "Now do you understand why its important?" I nod still stunned. She notices but moves on.
"Now there are three things to remember." She raises a finger, " First you still age in here," I wince and she nod seeing I understand, If I spend a full year in here I would pop out visibly older unless I had a way to stop aging. Her second finger comes up. "Secondly, You can move in this version but not the combat version." I start thinking before she snaps her fingers and raises an eyebrow as I refocus. "We can talk about it later." I nod as her third finger goes up, "and Last but not least" She grins wickedly, "Once you are able to find a way to control time you can start changing the time compression as its called." My eyebrows shoot up and she nods before taking a breath.
She gets up and sits across from me "Now we are going to go over what all you have and your basic abilities are as a RPG Style UPI" Suddenly a red screen flashes between us that says:
Main user is not RPG Style UPI. Main user is Original UPI
Balance gasps in shock and a bit of excitement as she mutters "that cant be possible.. I mean i had hear of him but still.." she trails off muttering under her breath as the screen disappears. I wait for a few minutes before snapping my fingers in front of her face. She jumps a bit before blushing slightly "sorry... I guess its time to explain" I nod as she collects herself.
To understand this you need to understand there are countless UPI versions and it all depends on the type of person you are. That determines what you get. It's not always perfect and sometimes its just based around what games you played. But they all originate from the UPI Origin." I tilt my head and she sighs "Ok let me give you and example. A card type UPI Gains their UPI and can use cards to do different things from summoning monsters to buildings, artifacts there's a long list BUT!" She raises her finger, "they are limited by the cards. If they don't have a card for it they have to make it. And if you take their cards their screwed until they make more or have some items summoned up. Understand so far?" I tilt my head and mutter "mostly.."
She nods a bit, "compare that to an RPG UPI they gain a system like Skyrim for example were they do things to level up their skills which in turn makes them and those abilities stronger. The downside is they start from scratch and have a set amount of skills they can have at one time active.' I nod as it starts to make sense. Balance takes a deep breath as a bit of awe seeps into her voice. "But they all stem from the Original UPI. The Original UPI has no limits. It has always been considered as something true yet myth. Something that all UPI users knew about and accepted as truth but had never seen. They system had to come from somewhere but no one had ever seen it. All that was know is that only one person will ever have the Original UPI"
My eyebrows raise up before I become confused and tilt my head.
"But wait... You speak of this Origin UPI as if it's long in the past and there will or was only one user. If that's true then how in the world do I have it?" She waves her hand "Oh that's not complicated, Basically its a stable time loop. Someone got it, And since their system would have no limit, time travel would be possible if not guaranteed" I shake my head and mutter " I hate time loops" She nods and takes a deep breath. "ok moving on... Look im going to be blunt with you, This is the best and worst thing that could happen." I motion for her to keep going. "As the Origin UPI you can use all the other systems eventually and you will. But... You start with barely anything and.." She seems to brace herself, "You start off as human as possible" She ducks and hides as i sit there confused.

"wait..." My brain starts connecting the dots 'I'm in harry potter...I start as human as possible...'
I take a deep breath. "you mean to tell me I don't have magic in the world of harry potter?!" My voice gets a bit high pitch at the end as she pokes her head over the edge of the bed. "uh... yes?" I take a deep breath before going completely calm. "I assume that there is a way around this right?" She nods rapidly and sits back down.
"yes using your skill system you can at least emulate it enough to pass for a wizard but you should know that since magic is made from extra soul energy any detection magic will not work on you" I tilt my head as the implications sink in, "wait" I look at her in shock, "All detection magic!?" She nods amused, "Yes, Until you reach level 1000 You wont produce enough energy from your soul to even show up on them." I cackle for a while and she chuckles.
We both calm down eventually as she settles back in. "alight now lets go over what you have available." She waves her hand a screen pops up.
Skills/Perks:
Skill Creation (limited)
This skill allows one to make 5 Skills every other month so long as one has the imagination and power to back it up!
Origin UPI Mind and Body (passive)
Allows one to access and live with the Origin UPI. Can not be lost or suppressed at all. Allows one to have resistance to metal attacks and strong emotions. Give bonus to learning and mental skills. Allows one to gain passive skill by repeating an action correctly enough times. Allows one to rest and heal from all wounds and exhaustion with 8 Hours of rest (note can be reduced even more)
Powerful Mind (passive)
You mind can learn fast better and retain more then almost any other! (can be upgraded)
Powerful Bloodline (passive)
You may be human but you come from several powerful bloodlines. Only time will tell What all they are from
Currently Known: Ravenclaw (access to Ravenclaw vaults properties and gain control of 1/4 of the school Hogwarts can only be overruled by the headmaster with Hogwarts approval or the other heirs)
I Stare at the screen my mind racing as I realize how broken this could and would get. "Now I know its not" "It's bloody fantastic!" I interrupt her as I jump up and hug her spinning us around before setting her down. She stares at me in shock as I grin wickedly "want to see me prove it?" I ask. She slowly nods as I clear my throat and say dramatically "Skill Creation: Power Mimicry" A soft Ding goes off as her eyes widen " Skill Creation: Sound Suppression" Ding! "Skill Creation: Scent Suppression" Ding! "Skill Creation: Crafting" Ding! Her eyes seem to get even wider as I wink " And finally, Skill Creation: Book Eater!" a small pause, Just as I was about to lose hope, Ding! I couldn't help it but jump in the air "YES!" I cry out. I look back at Balance as I sit back down still grinning. She stares at me before suddenly grabbing the screen to check the new Skills:
New Skills Created! (skill creation on cool down for one month real time)
Power Mimicry:
So long as you understand the mechanics behind the power you can mimic any power you desire (Current power limit: 4 Powers)
Sound Suppression:
You have gain the innate abilities suppress the sounds you make (sound for people more then 20 levels higher then you)
Scent Suppression:
You have gain the innate abilities suppress the scent you make (can still be smelled by people more then 20 levels higher then you)
Crafting:
All encompassing skill for making anything you desire (current chance of success 45% max rank of item: Rare)
Book Eater:
You have the ability to consume books and create a copy in its place while learning the contents of the book! (beware of cursed books and sentient books!)
She slowly turns around and stares at me. I chuckle a bit, "What do you think? A good choice right?" She nods still stunned. "Now what else do we need to learn and tell me?" I ask. Balance shakes her head as she seems to come back into focus " I didn't think you would catch onto that so quickly, But before we go on, Why crafting?" I chuckle and point the the skill "It specifically says 'All encompassing Skill for making anything you desire' Now, What did I just make five of?" she gasps in shock and I nod, " The skill creation skill specifically says 'Make 5 skills' As a result of the crafting skill I got a 45% bonus on the chance to succeed at my book eater skill. Which I needed as it shouldn't be able to use that yet." I shake my head, " I doubt it would work perfectly on a lot of skills I want right now, Like Time control, but combine that with my natural mind skills I bet it would work for something to help me learn, and it did!"
Balance shakes herself and settles in, "well consider me impressed!' she leans forward, "Alright, Lets finish this up so we can get started." I nod and lean back in the bed a bit.
"So You have stats, Perk Points, Experience for your level and your skill levels as is standard in RPG games. However you also will gain access to racial traits eventually and something called CR and CP Points" She takes a deep breath. "Racial Traits are bonus and negatives for each race you gain. For example the vampire race of this world is weak to sunlight but ones from other universe might not be" I nod knowing that things like that are going to crop up as I travel, " CR stands for Challenge rating." She pulls up a screen and points to the different parts. "When you enter a dungeon or territory or accept a quest it will have a CR the higher number the better the loot so to speak." I mutter "seems standard to be honest"
She nods and points out a gear icon " True but you can also set the default rating as well. It has to be done by touch and not verbal or mental" I snort, "Could you imaging accidently choosing Hell mode for Something like Hogwarts?" We both laugh knowing how hard that would be. "Anyways" She continues" CP Points are Challenge points. Those will only apply for when you change worlds or dimensions or universe. They can be earned by completing achievements challenges or taking penalties for that place. You didn't get any this go around due to this being your learning universe so to speak" I nod as it made sense before a though hits me. "what about Instant dungeons or natural dungeons?" She grins wickedly and simple says, "Yes!"
My eye widen as I think about the potential she seems to understand and she nods, "ID Create will unlock at level 15 unless you manage to get it before then" she smiles wryly, "and knowing you you'll be trying for it next month." I snort and nod in agreement. Balance clears away the screens and leans back in her seat. "as far as where we are, You live down the road from Mr. Potter himself." I perk up, "Wait... Will I get in trouble for changing things?" She shakes her head before I can even finish. "no UPI Users have free leeway with that." I smirk wickedly. "then I think depending on some things like how Dumbledore is Harry is going to be doing much better with me helping from the shadows" She grins and start softly chuckling, "Strike from the shadows until you need to be the light right?" I nod and stand up stretching. "Of course! No since in letting our enemies know about until its to late." She looks at me carefully and asks, "So, Are you ready?" I grin and raise my fingers and snap leaving the pocket dimension as my words echo into the empty space we leave behind,
"Lets play the game!"
