Dating Afar

At the base, Sam did not wear her usual fatigues, but a little black dress that most definitely enhanced her curves. She was off duty, and for once, she would not be working anyway. She was in her quarters, setting up a communications holoprojector. Everyone had been given strict instructions to leave her alone.

Then she sat and waited for exactly 1706 hours. Two seconds after, it flashed, and she tapped at the controls. A translucent Martouf appeared before her.

He's gorgeous! Sam immediately thought with a sharp inhale. Beautiful, and definitely working undercover to be wearing those clothes. Noble and Ancient Egyptian, though he wore a kara'kesh on his left hand. Since it was a weapon, she hoped it was not because he feared immediate danger.

"Samantha."

"Hello Martouf." She smiled as she admired his form, wishing that holograms appeared solid.

"You are lovely," he said with a smile as his eyes equally wandered. "Very beautiful."

"And you look very handsome." She wondered where he was, but she knew she would never be told.

"Happy…Valentine's Day?"

Sam grinned. "Thank you."

"I was told that hearts and chocolate are associated on this day." He tilted his head slightly with a frown. "They are not eaten together, are they?" His nose crinkled slightly.

"No, not actual hearts. The shape." She laughed as she quickly drew a heart for him.

"Oh." He smiled in relief. "The shape on your playing cards."

"What did you call them if you didn't know hearts?"

"Figs."

Sam smiled.

He stepped closer and reached out. Though he could not touch her, he brushed his fingers by the image of her cheek as though he could.

"Are you safe?" She asked.

"Safe, and seeing you makes us warm." He bowed his head, and his blue eyes briefly glowed a soft gold.

"Lantash."

"Hello Samantha."

"I've missed you."

"As have we." He gave a smug smile that she loved. "We have a gift for you."

"What?" She laughed. "How? You are light years away."

"You shall see." He gave a very suggestive eyebrow wiggle. "We highly suggest you only wear the silver when you are…alone." His eyes flashed again.

Her skin flushed at the possibilities.

"Have you eaten yet?"

"No."

"Good. Martouf and I prepared a special meal for you."

Before Sam could ask what that meant, the base alarm sounded.

"It is only one of my people."

"Do you know which one?" She asked as the alarm stopped. That meant the visitor had been identified as Tok'ra.

"That I do not know." He sat down. "Relax. They'll come to you. Until then, tell us about your day."

For the next several minutes, Sam told him what she could, what wasn't classified, about her projects. He listened carefully. His expression softened, asking questions from time to time. He even had a few helpful suggestions, and she wrote them down so that she would not forget.

She, of course, could not ask him about his day. Then there was a knock on the door. Sam went to answer it.

"Kela'an."

"Good evening, Colonel Carter." The Tok'ra looked past her, smiling when he saw Lantash. "I won't take her time."

"Thank you," Lantash replied.

Kela'an handed her a box and four crystals, then bowed his head slightly before leaving.

Sam locked her door again, then set the box down.

"Do you recognize the crystals?"

"Yes." She put one in each corner of the room, then turned her light off. The crystals immediately began glowing, setting a new mood. With less light to compete with, the hologram of Martouf appeared more solid. Sitting, she untied the bow as he watched, then lifted the lid.

She smiled as she saw a large bouquet of red and purple roses with glowing petal tips. She lifted them and the vase he had provided for them.

"They're beautiful."

"They are almost as beautiful as you," Martouf replied.

She smiled, looking up. She had not seen them switch control.

"Now… The cedar box."

Sam lifted the box, taking in its earthy, slightly spicy scent. As she opened it, she could also smell cinnamon and vanilla. Inside were two golden necklaces.

"Which mood are you in for?"

Sam smiled as she examined both. Both were fine chains with small oak leaf charms, and she selected the longer one. She smiled as Martouf circled behind her, and she took her time with the lariat, slowly dropping the lowest charm between her breasts.

"Wonderful choice," Martouf whispered into her ear, clearly admiring the view.

"You are really making me wish you were here," she replied as his voice left a tremble in her skin.

"Mm." He smiled. "The smallest box."

Sam opened it up. Inside was a small silver disk. "A memory device?"

"It has been modified." He gestured for her to put it on.

Wear it alone. Probably advice if they had to cut communications. Very intrigued, she put it on her temple.

"I would suggest the first setting." He still spoke softly.

She took the remote and turned it on, then immediately gasped as she felt a shiver vibrate through her skin.

"You are feeling Lantash."

"This was…" She gasped as the tremble moved. "…re-recorded…off-off you?" She subconsciously wiggled her feet as they vibrated.

"Yes, my body, though Lantash made certain adjustments…" He stepped back in front of her, having her full attention. "…to accommodate our favorite Samantha."

"He knows me…" She paused, catching a soft breath. "…well."

"You seem distracted," he teased.

Sam laughed as her cheeks flushed.

"The maple box if you wish to continue. The birch if you wish for a more romantic mood."

She sat up, looking to the boxes. "Which one is which?"

He gestured as he answered. "As the Tau'ri say, naughty or nice, though I do not understand why such delights are considered naughty."

"It makes the idea more exciting."

He smiled. "However, before you choose…"

She paused with her hands halfway towards the maple box.

"Should you choose the maple, there is a rule you must follow."

"What's the rule?"

He grinned with amusement.

"You aren't going to tell me until after I've chosen."

"That is correct," he replied.

She picked up the maple box.

"Have you chosen?"

"Yes."

He knelt by her, "touching" her cheek. "You cannot touch yourself."

"What?"

He smirked.

"No show for you then," she tempted.

"Just watching you now is a beautiful show."

Sam smiled. "Alright. I'll play by your rules."

"Most wonderful." He "kissed" her temple, and though it was impossible, she almost thought she could feel him.

Sam opened the box. She saw a shimmer as a force field broke, which told her that the food had been in stasis. Inside was wine, honey, honeyed figs, various nuts, spicy truffles, dark chocolate, and various powders. There were small wooden utensils to use.

Martouf sat by her, having grabbed a glass of wine as she poured herself some into a wooden cup. She could smell pomegranate.

"It's strong," he warned. "A sprinkle of the red powder would make it more…exciting."

Sam smiled as she used a tiny spoon to add powder to the wine.

"A toast as you say." He lifted his glass.

"To your safe return," Sam replied as she touched her cup to his holographic cup.

"And may your future missions be equally safe."

They both sipped, and it was strong in flavor, fruity…sweet and tart, and somehow thicker. It lingered on her tongue with a slight and pleasant tingle.

Lantash took control for a second sip. He smiled as he looked to Sam. "Are you enjoying my touch?"

"Yes."

"Each setting is a different experience."

"Do I get to feel you wiggle?"

"Third setting."

Sam changed it, then touched her neck as she could have sworn she felt movement within. She glanced down.

"Samantha?"

"I miss you." She gave a sad smile. "I hope I can hold you both soon." Leave it to the Tok'ra to ship them off only a few weeks after they started dating.

"It will not be years…not this time." He gestured. "You can turn off my wiggles. I will not be offended."

"I'll keep them for now." She grinned, seeing how that pleased him. "Shall we eat?"

He picked up a black truffle from whatever plate was in front of him, so she did the same. She took a bite. Earthy, nutty, and buttery, stuffed with hot peppers. She savored the taste before finishing with a sip of wine.

"Try the second one with the yellow powder."

Following his instructions, she took a bite, and she almost immediately felt the effect in her head.

"Forth setting."

She changed it, and her scalp tingled. Her breath caught in her throat, and she sat back as shivers moved down her spine. She touched the back of her neck.

"You are so beautiful."

She smiled.

"Last truffle?"

"Food, yes." She could easily lose herself in the shivers.

"Add honey."

"To a truffle?"

"Yes."

She did, and in taking a bite. Her eyes widened. "This is really good."

"Of course," he replied with pure satisfied arrogance.

"I love you," she said.

"Our blessing," he replied as his smile shifted to pure joy and love. "We love you every day."

Sam drank more wine, then spooned some nuts into a small bowl.

"They taste good with any of the powders."

"I'll try them first," she said as she picked up a few. She soon found that they had a mild taste.

"They are favored by Tok'ra lovers."

"Are they now?" She added some red powder as he stood.

"Yes." He replied as he slowly began dancing.

The red powder was slightly sweet, and she began feeling a heat in her skin. She watched as her boyfriend moved. Even in sandals, he was graceful.

The yellow powder had a mild cheese flavor, almost between swiss and mozzarella.

In a fluid motion, Lantash removed his shirt.

"Much better," Sam said with approval. She very briefly wondered if the people on cameras were enjoying his dance as well.

Lantash smiled as he moved to stand tiptoed. He lifted the other foot as he smoothly removed a sandal, then sat, rolling back. The other was soon off, and now Martouf was in control.

Sam bit into a fig as she watched him roll back on to his feet. The entire act had been one graceful move. She hadn't noticed the anklets before. They each had a chain attached to a toe ring. She found herself staring at his feet.

"Try a piece of chocolate with the fig."

Still having half a fig in her hand, she ate it with chocolate. She was surprised to find that the chocolate was filled with spicy peppers. Bittersweet chocolate, honey, fig, and heat all in one sensational bite. She swore she could feel shivering heat in her skin, and she wasn't sure what was causing it.

He removed his belt, and in his hands, the cloth soon became a ribbon that he weaved through the air. Sam found herself staring, forgetting all about the food.

"Next setting," he whispered as he danced around her, slowly untying his loincloth skirt.

Sam wondered if he had anything underneath. Her heart beat faster as he slowly unwrapped himself.

"Tease," she said, when he was wearing a smaller loincloth. At least this one barely covered, and she could see chain jewelry under it.

He moved to one knee then moved a hand as if he could touch her skin.

She changed the setting again, and he had apparently memorized Lantash's effects because his hands moved with the vibrations.

"Can I do the same?" She asked, "touching" his temple, knowing that Lantash could make it seem real.

He smiled in pleasure as she moved her hands down his sides. Lantash was definitely making him feel it.

"Mm. My Samantha." He pulled away and danced again.

She felt the shivers move lower.

"No touching," he reminded when she almost reached below.

"That's not fair."

"Are we not enough?" He twirled with amusement, then removed the last remaining cloth.

Her fingers itched to relieve herself as she began breathing hard. Her boyfriend moved with grace, wearing only jewelry. The kara'kesh gave him an illusion of power in spite of his nudity.

"Are we not…warm?" He asked as he moved closer.

Her skin burned. "You…" She shivered.

"Us what?" He teased.

She inhaled sharply.

He smiled at the show that he and Lantash had caused.

She closed her eyes, gasping, and her toes curled as her body trembled. She heard Martouf laugh lightly in satisfaction, and she slowly opened her eyes as aftermaths shivered through her.

"Very beautiful," he said softly, standing near her.

Once she caught her breath, she changed the setting on the device back to the first level. In comparison, "Lantash" almost felt weak now.

"Our beloved."

She looked to Martouf.

"Do you work tomorrow?"

"No…" She sat up more. "…not officially anyway. I have those projects to work on."

"Good. You might not be eager to wake early after the wine."

Sam smiled. She definitely felt it. "I do need to use the restroom. I'll be back."

He gave a short nod.

She was quick, and when she returned he was moving his resting couch "into" her bed. The projector only showed some of the couch, but it was enough to identify the piece of furniture.

"We missed you," Martouf said, his expression lighting up as if he hadn't seen her for weeks.

"I missed you too." She closed the box of food, and she heard the stasis field reactivate. She changed into her nightwear, much to his delight, taking off the necklace and putting it away.

They both laid down, and she turned to his form. He was still wearing only jewelry.

"You look cold."

He grinned. "It's quite warm here."

They pretended to touch fingers. His couch was slightly lower than her bed, giving the strange illusion that he was partially in her bed.

"Goodnight, Samantha."

"Goodnight," Sam said, "and since I know you have to end this soon, good morning too."

"Thank you." His eyes glowed.

"Goodnight, Lantash." She yawned, and her eyes blinked.

"You are sleeping with me?"

If only that were possible, she thought before realizing he meant the device on her temple. "Yes."

His eyes glowed in joy.

Sam smiled.

She didn't really want to sleep, but aside from the wine, she was up much later than usual. Besides, it felt nice to fall asleep next to him, even if he was probably halfway across the galaxy.

"We love you," was the last thing she heard him whisper.

~+~+~.

As expected, he was gone in the morning…mostly. The memory device still shivered her skin. She left it on as she opened the other box of food. She cried, then laughed.

"Oh, Martouf."

All the foods from their first date, prepared as he had cooked it that day. She was surprised to find a note.

Dearest Samantha,

We suspected you would select the maple box, so we hope you enjoy this the morning after. We also hope we enjoyed a full evening with you, but if we could not, know that you will always be in our hearts.

We will return to your arms as quickly as we can, but until we do, try the second setting.

Sam did, and she closed her eyes as she almost felt like she was being hugged.

It's the best we can do for you now.

"You are both so sweet," she said to the letter.

With our deepest love, Martouf and Lantash.

~+~+~.

Their mission had not gone as planned, but they escaped and came home safe. Their home was still light years away from hers, but only minutes away when traveling through the stargate.

"It wasn't because of our transmission, was it?" Sam asked.

"No. I was recognized. It has happened with his previous hosts as well, though they were not captured. Eventually, it is no longer safe for them to take on such missions."

"So…you won't be disappearing on me again?"

Martouf smiled and kissed her.

Sam held him close as she felt his fingers in her hair. She cupped a hand over the back of his neck to include Lantash. From within, she felt him press slightly against Martouf's skin, against her hand. She gave her second lover a slight squeeze, pleased when she felt him wiggle in response.

"We missed you," Martouf said.

"I miss your outfit."

Martouf laughed.

Sam grinned, then kissed them again.
