[NOTE: Takes place Five Years before Amphibia's "The Hardest Thing" Epilogue,
but some time after The Owl House's "Watching and Dreaming" Epilogue.]

It was midnight, and a man with shaggy auburn hair lay in a bed.
his Gold and Blue Heterochromian eyes gazing out the window.

The man's name was Olivier Clawthorne, better known for being the son of Eda, the Owl Lady.

Having grown up on the Boiling Isles in the Demon Realm, his mother tried to give him a good childhood.
But the fact he was apparently half witch, and born without a bile sac to use magic properly made it hard.

He had a good nature, and was trusting of other people.
And while there was nothing wrong with that, it wasn't a good trait to have in the Isles.

Something he had to learn the hard way...when his round ears got cut off when he was only twelve.

His heart had hardened after that, pushing everyone away to spare himself any more pain.

But that all changed when his desperate to lift his mother's curse
led to him being tricked into being transported to another realm called Amphibia.

a world of talking Frogs, Toads and Newts teeming with all manner of giant, carnivorous creatures.

It was there...that he met Anne Boonchuy. a human from the 'Earth Realm'
who had also been transported to Amphibia and desired to return home like Olivier did.

Circumstances forced the two together to stay alive in a would that wanted them both dead.
and, in time...Anne helped Olivier to open his heart to others and learn to trust people again.

Olivier turned in bed...and smiled as he looked at the sleeping woman laying beside him.

Anne Boonchuy...Now Anne Boonchuy-Clawthorne.

Yes, the witch fell in love with the human.

The two had been through so much together...and even saved both their worlds.
Their love was so strong, that living in different dimensions couldn't come between them.

And once they both turned eighteen...Olivier popped the question to Anne.

They married in the Thai Temple of her hometown of Los Angeles, California.
and not long after...they had their first child: a beautiful baby girl.

That was over Ten Months ago. They now live together in a cabin that Olivier built himself
in a nice secluded area in the Californian woodlands near a crystal clear lake.

a place where they could live in peace, and raise their child in safety.

And while they had another home in the Boiling Isles, This 'Frog House' (as Anne dubbed it) was their home.

Olivier continued to watch as his wife slept soundly, breathing steadily.
He gently reached out, and stroked her curly hair. careful not to wake her.

Anne was currently attending college to earn her degree in Herpetology.
And Olivier stayed at home, raising their daughter while Anne was away.

Olivier always missed Anne when she was away, and treasured the time he spent with her.
But if living in two different dimensions couldn't drive them apart, then THIS wouldn't either.

Olivier knew that Anne wouldn't be in college forever, and would one day graduate and earn her degree.

THEN, they would have more time to spend together as a family,
with only Anne's planned future career at an Aquarium dividing them for awhile.

*I love you...* whispered Olivier.

He so wanted to kiss his beautiful wife...but he didn't want to wake her.

BUT that wasn't up to him, as a familiar sound began to blare from the Baby Monitor.

"(*SNORT!*) wa-what?" muttered Anne, as she started to awaken.

Olivier scowled as he sat up. There were Upsides and Downsides to being a parent...

...and this was certainly one of the downsides.

"go back to sleep. Annie." spoke Olivier. "I'll take care of this."

Half-asleep, Anne looked at Olivier. "y-you sure? I swear it's m-my turn to-"

"It's okay, Annie." said Olivier, with a smile. "I got this."

Anne stared for a moment. She then shrugged, and laid back down.

Olivier flipped his half of the covers off, and sat at the edge of the bed.
With the sound of a wailing infant still blaring, Olivier rose up and power walked out of the bedroom.

Olivier walked down the hall and opened the door to the nursery.
It was a fairly small room that Anne had designed to be green, with swamp motif.

Cartoon Frogs adorned the walls (which sometimes creeped Olivier out.)

Olivier approached the crib where his and Anne's one month old baby girl lay.

The tiny life form had tan colored skin, wore a bright yellow jumper
and a topknot of hair that made her resemble a Troll Doll (at least according to Sasha.)

The BLUE hair was a very odd color, but one that made perfect sense to both Anne and Olivier.
As their baby had clearly inherited a remnant of Anne's Calamity Powers (which had once turned her own hair blue.)

As such, they named her Amity (or, "Ami", as Olivier preferred to call her.)

Olivier switched off the Baby Monitor, and gently picked Ami up.

The baby opened her eyes, which were also Heterochromian like her father.
However, instead of being Gold and Blue, they were colored Brown similar to her mother's eyes.

one Hazel, and the other Dark Brown.

"Shh-shhhhh...it's okay." spoke Olivier, softly. "no more tears, little one...daddy's here."

Ami looked at her father...and gradually calmed down.
Even at such an early stage in her life, she knew who her father was.

And why wouldn't she? Olivier had been there for her birth. Refusing to leave Anne's side,
and even casting one of his Aunt Lilith's spells to share her pain to lessen her suffering.

When Ami opened her eyes for the first time...both her parents was the first two faces she ever saw.
So, the bond that she felt with her father was equal to that of her mother.

Olivier held Ami close, gently rocking her while the tiny infant curled up in his arms.
He then backed up to rocking chair, and sat down in it. gently rocking back and forth.

Olivier breathed out softly, taking in this peaceful moment alone with his child.

He still almost couldn't believe this was real: That he was someone's father.
Sometimes he feared this was all a dream, and any moment he would awake...and his baby would be gone.

Thankfully this was no illusion: Ami was real, Alive...and depended on him for protection.

And Protect her he would. Possessing equal parts Light and DARK Magic,
Olivier was more than willing to KILL any who would seek to bring harm to his baby girl.

No one would EVER hurt his family.

As he rocked in the chair, Ami made some mild noises and stirred around.
Olivier then held her more protectively, making soft sounds to help his child relax.

He then decided to sing a lullaby, using Bard Magic to conjure some soft music.

"If you leap awake in the middle of a bad dream." sung Olivier, softly.

"And for a fraction of a second, you can't remember where you are...

Just open your window, and follow your memory upstream.
To the meadow in the mountain where we count every falling star.

I believe a light that shines on you will shine on you forever (foreeeever.)
And though I can't guarantee there's nothing scary hiding under your bed

I'm gonna stand guard like a postcard of a golden retriever
And never leave 'til I leave you with a sweet dream in your head

I'm gonna watch you shine, gonna watch you grow. Gonna paint a sign, so you'll always know

As long as one and one is two (Ooh-ooooh)

There could never be a father, who loved his daughter more than I love you."

Ami made a soft sound, and then opened her mouth wide to yawn.
Olivier then raised her up, and kissed her softly on her warm head.

"I love you, my little starlight." whispered Olivier.

"That is so ADORB." spoke a voice.

Olivier looked back...and saw his wife standing at the door.

"Ah-ANNE!?" exclaimed Olivier. "You're ss-suppose to be-"

"sorry, hon." said Anne, as she walked into the room. "but I couldn't get back to sleep."

Anne then leaned against the rocking chair, and looked down at baby Ami.
She smiled, feeling her heart melt the longer she gazed at her own child.

"I still can't believe we made this...it feels Unreal." said Anne.

Olivier smiled. "you know...I ran into Boscha once when I was visiting my mother.
And she told me that you would end up meeting someone else at college, and leave me."

This statement made Anne angry. "why that three-eyed-"

"But I already know that what she said won't happen..." continued Olivier.

"Because everytime I look at our baby...I am reminded that our love is not only real' but everlasting.
WE made this...together. Our Love made this precious child, and she will always be an embodiment of that."

Anne smiled warmly as she looked at Ami again. "I never thought about her that way before."

Anne then looked at Olivier...who looked back at her.
The two then slowly leaned forward, and gave each other a deep, loving kiss.

Once they parted, Anne grasped Olivier's head.

"just so you know...I would NEVER leave you for anyone. We've been through so much together.
And believe me, I have seen some pretty faces at college...but none of them could EVER replace you in my heart."

Olivier nodded. "I know...and I feel the same way about you, too.
Some girls (and even some guys) HAVE flirted with me, but they can never temp me away from you."

Anne chuckled lightly (and made a mental note to learn the names of 'these other girls and guys' for later.)

Olivier gently handed Ami to Anne...who cradled the child in her arms.
Anne gave a warm smile to her baby girl (even though by now, Ami was fast asleep.)

Anne then planted her own kiss upon Ami's head, and gently laid her in her crib.
Olivier then joined her as the two young parents took a moment to look at their sleeping baby.

They said not a word, but were thinking the same thing.

Despite all their struggles, hardships and mistakes...
It all seemed worth it in the end the more they looked at their child.

If they had the chance to go back, and redo their lives all over again...they wouldn't dare change a thing.

"let's go, hon..." spoke Anne.

Olivier nodded, and switched the baby monitor back on.
the couple silently walked to the door, and closed it behind them.

[Later]

Outside the Quote/Unquote 'Frog House', Anne was sitting on a halved log
that was placed beside the lake where a chorus of frogs and crickets relaxed Anne.

Olivier sat beside his wife, and placed his arm over her.

"I know what you are thinking...and I miss them too."

Anne looked down sadly. "I think about them every single day...Sprig, especially."

"yeah...I've thought about Maddie often, too."

"It just doesn't seem fair." began Anne. "We can visit YOUR world anytime we want to.
But even after FIVE YEARS, we still haven't found a way back to Amphibia."

"I know...it frustrates me too." spoke Olivier.

"I've been working with both Terri, The I.T. Gals and even Eugene to recreate the interdimensional portal.
And while we have opened portals to other dimensions, we haven't yet found the one that leads to *OUR* Amphibia."

Anne sighed sharply...but then had a thought.

"Have you...used that Dream Walking magic recently to check up on them?"

Olivier nodded. "When I can get some sleep...I do."

"And, how is every doing?"

Olivier smiled...and opened his palm, releasing a orb of light.
The orb spread out, casting an illusion over the lake in front of them.

Anne's eyes watered as she saw the Plantar Homestead, looking so real she could almost touch it.

"The Plantars are okay. Hop Pop started a small business selling Californian Avacodos."

Anne smiled, nearly crying at seeing Hop Pop in his rocking chair on the porch.

"Thank god he's still alive...I was afraid he had-"

"And, he married Sylvia."

Anne smiled even more. "That's WONDERFUL!"

Anne then saw a dark pink frogette wearing overalls with a familiar looking robot. "wait. is that...POLLY!?"

"Yeah." said Olivier. "Polly grew up, and became a mechanical engineer.
She helped with the rebuilding of Newtopia, and everything else destroyed by Andrias."

Anne smiled as she stared at Polly. Despite her tomboyish look, she grew to be pretty.

"And...Sprig?"

Olivier pointed at a pink frog stepping out of the Plantar home.
Anne teared up upon seeing her best friend, now older and holding her old phone.

"He misses you too...and also searches for a way to return to this realm." spoke Olivier.
"He spends his time exploring Amphibia with Polly, Maddie and Ivy. Investigating everything they can."

Anne half frowned. "I wish we could be there with them."

"me too." said Olivier, in agreement.

"We will get back someday...so I can show them out baby girl." continued Anne.
"You'd better not die on me, Hop Pop. Not until you hold my baby first."

Olivier chortled at this. Anne's smile faded as the illusion finally ended.
She then leaned against her husband, while he embraced her tighter.

"I miss you so much when I'm at campus." said Anne.

"So do I."

"I'm so sorry you have to take care of the baby by yourself." continued Anne.
"I feel I should be here...helping you. like a mother SHOULD be doing."

"I'm not doing *everything* by myself." said Olivier.
"Sometimes your parents, and even my mom come by to help me."

Anne looked at her husband. "Really?, well that helps me feel better."

"Ami doesn't give me too much trouble...BUT, sometimes I do need a break to catch up on my studies."

Anne looked at Olivier again. "Studies?"

"I'm homeschooling myself to earn my own degree in teaching." explained Olivier.
"Aunt Lilith says she can get me a job as a Sub at Hexside. I just need a degree."

Anne smiled. "You'd make a GREAT teacher, Ollie...You could even be Principal!"

"I'd rather be a Substitute Teacher." said Olivier.

"Having a full time job would make it hard to spend time with you and Ami.
I mean...what's the point in supporting my family if I am never around for them?"

Anne smiled at Olivier. "what did I do to ever get such a considerate husband."

Olivier shrugged. "I just...I know what it's like growing up without a dad.
And, I don't want you and Ami to go through what me and my mom did."

Anne kissed Olivier on the cheek. "keep talking like that...and Ami just might get a new sibling."

Olivier blushed at this, while Anne fluttered her eyes at him.

"As much as I'd like that, I think we should wait a few years before having another kid." said Olivier.
"I mean, Ami is only a month old. and you still have a few more years of college."

Anne nodded sadly. "alright...I'll just have to get us a box of condoms until then."

Olivier blushed redder than a tomato at this.

Anne then stood up, pulling Olivier up with her. "Oliver...dance with me. Just like we did when we were younger."

Olivier smiled as he placed his hand on his wife's waist "We're not old yet, Annie."

Anne smiled as she placed her hands upon Olivier's shoulders.
The two gazed into each other's eyes as they danced in place.

After dancing for several minutes, Anne and Olivier then stopped and gazed into each other's eyes.
They smiled, and then leaned forward...and kissed with all the love they had.

As their bodies glowed with their respected magic, they embraced each other.

There was a flash...and where two people once stood, there was now one.
a tan skinned individual with two shades of blue eyes, and wearing a combo of Olivier and Anne's clothing.

"oh...I almost forgot how good this feels." spoke Olivanne, hugging themselves. "I missed this."

For a moment, the fusion stood alone...enjoying their existence.
But they soon heard a sound from inside the house: a baby crying.

Olivanne then glowed as they teleported inside the house, and entered their child's room.

Ami was indeed awake, and crying out for attention. "We were hoping you would stay asleep...oh well."

Olivanne reached into the crib, and picked up their baby girl.
They then sat down at the rocking chair, and gently rocked back-and-forth.

When Ami didn't quiet down...Olivanne cleared their throat, and began to sing softly.

"Come stop your crying It will be all right. Just take my hand, Hold it tight.
I will protect you from all around you. I will be here, Don't you cry.

For one so small, You seem so strong. My arms will hold you, Keep you safe and warm.
This bond between us...Can't be broken. I will be here, Don't you cry.

'Cause you'll be in my heart. Yes, you'll be in my heart. From this day on. Now, and forever more.
You'll be in my heart, No matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart...always."

Ami grasped onto Olivanne's finger with her tiny hand, and squeezed it.

The fusion smiled, both amused and impressed at the strength of the tiny infant.
They held their baby close with their strong arms, and continued to sing.

"When destiny calls you, You must be strong (you gotta be strong.)
I may not be with you, But you got to hold on.

'Cause you'll be in my heart. Believe me, you'll be in my heart.
I'll be there from this day on. Now, and forever more.

Oh, you'll be in my heart (you'll be here in my heart.)

No matter what they say (I'll be with you)

You'll be here in my heart (I'll be there) always..."

Olivanne then stood up, and walked back to the crib.
Still singing, they placed Ami back in the crib and tucked her in.

"Always...I'll be with you. I'll be there for you always. Always and always
Just look over your shoulder. Just look over your shoulder. Just look over your shoulder..."

Olivanne leaned down, and kissed Ami on her head. "I'll be there...ALWAYS."

Ami let out a tiny breath, and smacked her lips. As she slept soundly, Olivanne continued to watch her.

They then reached into the crib, and gently caressed Ami's forehead.

"sweet dreams...my little starlight." whispered Olivanne, softly.

Olivanne then stepped away, and yawned. feeling sleeping themselves.
They thought of going back to bed...but decided to sit back in the rocking chair.

As they sat down, the chair felt comfortable.

Olivanne looked at the baby crib one more time before yawning once again, and finally closing their eyes.

Before long...the fusion drifted off to sleep.

[End]

[Author Notes]

After feeling inspired by artwork made by my art collaborator and friend' EpicCrasher,
I decided to write a oneshot story set during the time skip of The Owl House Finale.

(Which is also Five Years before Amphibia's Time Skip,
as Anne is 18 and in College, rather than 23 and employed.)

Point being that this story is a look at Anne and Olivier
not only newly married, but new parents as well (as Ami is 1 Month old.)

But ALSO showing that their Happily Ever After isn't perfect.

There are still challenges they have to face,
but the important thing is that they have hope for their future.

(I also address something that fans on Twitter keep doing
with how they compare the endings fo Amphibia and The Owl House.

Yeah, Luz lucked out with being able to visit the Boiling Isles anytime she wants,
but while Anne is still separated from Amphibia...she still has hope she will see them again.

And, with Olivier Clawthorne being her husband in THIS continuity,
it is only a matter of time before a new portal is found.)

SOME may find this story sappy (and others may even hate it for being Anne x OC)
but for fans of my fanon: This one is for you. and I hope you all like it.
