Chapter 1
[Congratulations! You have died! Now you can finally make something of yourself by taking part in the Gamer Initiative!]
Excuse me…what? What happened? Last thing I remembered was seeing a bright light before everything went black.
[My name is ARIA, and I shall be your AI Companion during your journey.]
I…I died? Gamer's…what? What the hell's going on!?
[Yeah. Long story short, you got run over by Truck-kun, and now you're here. I should probably get you equipped with what you need for this journey.]
[Player's Mind Accessed]
[Player's Body Accessed]
A cool sensation covers my body before the situation finally dawns on me. I was run over by a Truck and now I'm going to live my life like a video game.
…
…I should probably be more upset by this but I can't bring myself to be. Probably that Gamer's Mind at play.
[Very observant of you Master! Now then, I need you to type in your name before I start updating your Profile.]
A blank line appeared in front of me before I took a moment to type something out. A part of me wanted to use my original name, but what was the point? A new life should require a new name after all.
[You've chosen the name: Soren Graves]
[Is this correct?]
[Yes][No]
I then select "Yes."
[Good! Now I just need to update your Profile based on Data from your past life, as well as filter out info that won't be needed anymore. This may take a little bit so please relax.]
I should feel offended that this System is acting like my previous life doesn't matter…but I can barely remember it so I don't really care. Is it Gamer's Mind again?
…
I wonder how this journey will go. Will I visit other worlds? I wonder if I'll make friends.
…
…
I would complain about this taking awhile, but filtering out several years worth of data probably takes a while.
…
I wonder if I'll be able to gain superpowers. That'd be pretty cool…I always wanted superpowers as a kid.
…
…
*Whistling the Andy Griffith theme*
[And done!]

[Achievement: Lifting Boxes]
[Objective: Work as a package handler and lift 100 Boxes]
[Reward: 100 Credits, 10 STR, 10 CON]
That's…quite a bit. I'm not complaining in the least though. I decided to take a look at my Profile.
Name: Soren Graves
Level: 1 (25 EXP to Level 2)
HP: 100
MP: 100
STR: 10
DEX: 0
CON: 10
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHA: 15
LCK: 15
Stat Points: 100
Credits: 12,200
Oh this is interesting. I should make the most out of these Stat Points. First of all I'm getting that DEX up to 10 as well, I don't want anything left out. Might as well get CHA and LCK up to 20. I'm assuming they mean Charisma and Luck. Which means the higher they are, the chances of people listening to me and me winning games of chance will increase.
…Right?
[Good observation Master! Although there's more to it than that. The higher a certain Stat is, the more benefits you'll get revolving around said Stat. You'll also gain Stat Landmarks, which will grant either passive or active abilities depending on said Stat. They can also grant rewards once certain requirements are met.]
Okay. I currently have 80 Stat Points left.
Name: Soren Graves

LCK: 20
Stat Points: 80

Might as well use them up now. I wanna see what kinda bonuses I get. I start with Luck and go all the way back up the Strength, before using my last ten for Luck once again.

[Reward for reaching 25 LCK]
[Loot Drop Increase Level 1 (Passive)]
[Description: All loot from defeated enemies will now increase by 2x.]
[Reward for reaching 25 CHA]
[Aura of Positivity Level 1 (Passive)]
[Description: You generate an unseen aura that makes others around you 5% more likely to be in a better mood when around you, therefore more amicable to you.]
Well. That's something. It seems that the Landmarks increase by a multiple of 25. Interesting. Extra loot and positive vibes are always something I'll take.
[I'm glad you do, Master! Now then, I'll explain in more detail as to how the system works. You'll be able to travel between worlds and grow in power, gain members for a Party, explore in dungeons, Etc. Essentially like most RPG's. Each world has a requirement for completing them before you can travel onto the next world. However, you can freely travel between worlds you've completed the requirements for and time will freeze in whatever world you're not in so that there's less confusion.]
That's incredibly helpful.
[Also, as you may have noticed, you can gain Loot from completing quest lines, earning achievements, and defeating foes. Dungeons are used to grind and can help you level up. While you do not need to sleep due to how your body now works, you can choose to enter a Dungeon via sleeping so you're active both during the day and at night should you desire.]
I'll take it into consideration. Getting stronger is something I definitely want. If I can get stronger almost twenty four seven, all the better.
[Glad to hear it. Now I'd recommend trying the Dungeons out so you can get a feel for them. I'm going to be working on getting your first series of worlds set up.]
As ARIA dismisses…themselves(?) I decided to take a look at the Dungeons. Turns out the only one available is the Zombie Dungeon. There is a spawn rate option that ranges from one per minute to fifty per minute. I decide to go for about three per minute. Hopefully they're not fast zombies. I don't need my playthrough ending at the tutorial phase.
As I enter the Dungeon, I see the environment has changed. The floor is nearly reflective, and the sky above me looks like I'm in a red and blue galaxy of sorts. A bright light appeared in front of me as I saw a sword manifest. It looked like an iron sword.
[Weapon: Iron Sword]
[Attk: 50, Durability: 100]
This makes me feel a bit better. I was concerned I'd have to fight empty handed. Speaking of which…
Three zombies emerged from the ground. They groaned and moaned as they slowly lumbered towards me.
[Enemy: Zombie]
[HP: 50, Attack: 25, EXP: 15]
One of them moves towards me so I immediately swing at its head. If zombie movies have taught me anything, it's to always go for the head. As the top half of its head falls to the ground, the body falls limp as well. The zombie then vanished into dust. I then attacked the second zombie before it could lunge at me, repeating the process.
[You have Leveled up!]
[45 EXP to Level 2]
[Reward: 10 Stat Points]
I had gained 100 Credits from beating both of those Zombies. I guess they each were supposed to have 25 before the Loot Drop Increase came into play. Thank you Luck Stat!
I take down the third Zombie and get an extra 50 Credits. While I'm waiting for either ARIA to inform me when the worlds are ready, or for the next wave of zombies to appear, I decided to update my Profile again. I'm curious to see what will happen if I buff up my CON.
[Reward for Reaching 25 CON]
[Health Regen Level 1 (Passive)]
[Description: You'll be able to regenerate 10 Health per minute.]
This will help me in case I get into a bind. I noticed that my sword's durability hasn't decreased at all. Is it supposed to?
[Weapon Durability will decrease if it is hit by an attack with a higher number than the Durability of the weapon.]
So Yu-Gi-Oh rules?
[Sort of. To be fair, swords aren't the best shields anyway.]
[I should be done with your worlds in about five minutes or so. Also watch your left.]
I turned and had to jump back when a zombie outstretched its arms and nearly grabbed me. I thrusted my sword forward and stabbed it right in the face. This causes it to disintegrate thankfully. Player's Mind helped calm me down as I faced down the other two zombies. I decapitated another one and then sliced off one of the arms of the third one. As the third one was reeling back from the attack, I got another notification.
[You have Leveled Up!]
[75 EXP to Level 3]
[Reward: 10 Stat Points]
Once I finished that and collected my 100 Credits, I killed the last zombie and got my extra 50 Credits. I go to the Menu before selecting the option to leave the Dungeon. I then returned to the void I was in beforehand. I used this to take a breather and look at my Profile again.
Name: Soren Graves
Level: 3 (60 EXP to Level 4)
HP: 120 (10 Regen per minute)
MP: 120
STR: 20
DEX: 20
CON: 30
INT: 20
WIS: 20
CHA: 30
LCK: 40
Stat Points: 10
Credits: 12,500
I wanna wait to get more Stat Points before I level up more of my Stats. That way it feels a little less tedious. I go and see what I can purchase in the Shop while I'm waiting for ARIA to finish up.
[Shop]
[Weapons][Armor][Consumables][Spell Books][HUB]
I briefly took a look at the HUB options and it opened up to even more sub categories.
[HUB]
[Worlds][Furniture][Miscellaneous]
I go to see the World options and they are…SUPER EXPENSIVE. Each option costs at LEAST a MILLION CREDITS.
Yeah…guess I'm not buying those anytime soon.
I leave the shop and immediately get a notification.

I wanna thank The Dark Wolf Shiro as well as others for being an inspiration for this.
