X-Men: Volume 3 Days of Futures Present
Chapter 1: A to Change Ones Fate…. And the Incursion Parasite
…
Logan sat on the steps of the newly built council building on Krakoa, staring out at the lush greenery of the island. It had been months since the council had outlawed resurrection, a decision that not everyone agreed with. Some mutants had left the island, unwilling to live without the hope of coming back after death.
Logan couldn't blame them. He had seen the younger mutants partying without restraint, thinking that they would come back no matter what. He had seen them gloat over their friends' bodies every time they made deadly mistakes, thinking that they would come back. Now, they were faced with the harsh reality that resurrection was never real, that they were just clones, and their souls moved on with every death.
Logan took a deep breath and shook his head, trying to push those thoughts out of his mind. He turned to see Laura, his daughter, walking towards him with Derreck, the man she had fallen in love with. Despite everything, Logan couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness for the two of them.
"Hey, Dad," Laura said, sitting next to him on the steps. "What are you thinking about?"
"Just thinking about the past," Logan replied, putting his arm around her.
"I know it's been tough for everyone," Derreck added, sitting down on the other side of Laura. "But we'll get through it together."
Logan nodded, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was still off. The council had outlawed resurrection, but he knew that not everyone would follow that rule. He just hoped that they wouldn't regret their decisions.
As they sat around the campfire, Logan couldn't shake the feeling of dread that lingered from his nightmare. He leaned in close to Laura and whispered to her, "I had a dream, or maybe it was a vision. I saw New York destroyed, and Derreck with these strange symbols in his eyes. It felt so real."
Laura listened intently, her expression serious. "Do you think it was a premonition?"
Logan shook his head, "I don't know. It could just be a nightmare. But it felt different, like it was a warning."
Logan sat quietly by the campfire with Laura sitting next to him. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered from the nightmare he had earlier. He whispered to Laura what he saw, but tried to play it off as just a dream.
Meanwhile, Derreck was busy roasting marshmallows over the fire with his metallic arm, offering the other Laura and Logan with the metal arm some smores. He had a look of contentment on his face as he enjoyed the marshmallows over the fire, seemingly oblivious to Logan's concerns.
Logan and Laura both shuddered at the memory of the devastation that Derreck had unleashed when Laura died. The remains of the Children of the Vault were still etched in their minds, a stark reminder of the immense power that Derreck possessed.
The fire crackled and popped as Derreck handed the smores to the other Laura and Logan with the metal arm. He smiled warmly at them, showing his sharp triangle shaped teeth as he did, but Logan couldn't shake the feeling that there was something different about Derreck, something darker.
As if sensing Logan's unease, Derreck's smile faded. "Is everything all right, Logan?" he asked.
Logan hesitated, unsure if he should share his dream with Derreck. But before he could make a decision, Derreck's attention was drawn to something in the distance.
"Someone's coming," he said, his voice low.
The group tensed, unsure of what to expect. But as the figure drew closer, they relaxed, recognizing the familiar face of Storm.
"Storm! It's good to see you," Laura said, rising to greet her.
Storm nodded in greeting, her expression serious. "We need to talk," she said. "There's been an incident in the borders of Krakoa." "The situation is also tense so you guys should come with me.".
A young mutant got into a fight with his friend who was trying to calm him down...about the fact that they are just creating clones and they aren't bringing anyone back...as they wrestle in the sand...storm and logan pry them away from each other saying...ENOUGH! ENOUGH! Break it up you two!
The mutants would still be pretty angry at each other so they would struggle a little bit before relenting and then the one who started it would turn his head noticing Derreck... this is all his fault! if he never showed up we wouldn't be in this mess would we! as Derreck just stares blankly at him with a neutral face...
Derreck had never paid much attention to resurrection. It was pointless for him to worry about something that could never work on him, anyway. He didn't understand why the other mutants had become so obsessed with it, but he knew it was a sensitive issue for them. As the mutant yelled at him about how he was responsible for the mess they were in, Derreck remained stoic, unmoved by his anger.
"I know where this is going," he said calmly.
The mutant continued to fume, accusing Derreck of not caring about the fact that his girlfriend was supposed to come back. Derreck simply looked at him, not knowing how to respond. He had never been good at dealing with emotional outbursts.
Derreck observed the scene unfolding before him, his expression remaining neutral as more and more mutants began to chime in with their anger and frustration. He listened to their accusations, their blame, and their misplaced anger. But as the gathered crowd started to shout at him, he raised an eyebrow, signaling for them to calm down.
"Listen, I understand your anger," Derreck said, his voice calm and measured. "But I never forced anyone to use resurrection. It was a choice that you all made. And now that you know the truth, it's up to you to decide what to do with that knowledge."
A mutant say finnally after a tense silence...yeah, how about this for starters? and then a chunk of ice bonked derreck on the head cracking int the process as it bounced off and fell to the ground...making laura logan and storm look for who threw it through the gathered crowd...before someone thows a bear can at derreck...all while he stands still just taking it...and being clueless as to why they were throwing cans and ice cubes at him...?
Derreck was confused and didn't understand why the mutants were suddenly throwing things at him. He stood there, his face stoic, as he was pelted with more objects.
Laura, Logan, and Storm pushed their way through the crowd, trying to find the persons responsible for the attack. Finally, one mutant stepped forward, their face twisted with anger. "You think you're better than us," they yelled. "You don't care about resurrection because it doesn't affect you. You don't know what it's like to lose someone and not have them come back."
Derreck held up his hands in a placating gesture. "I never claimed to know what it's like to lose someone. And I never said that it wasn't important to try and bring them back. It's just not something that works for me."
The mutant sneered. "Of course it doesn't work for you. You're invulnerable. You don't have to worry about dying. But what about the rest of us? What about our loved ones?"
Derreck shook his head. "I understand your frustration, but throwing things at me isn't going to solve anything."
While that display was going on...the mutant in front of derreck suddenly had his rage boil over as he blasted derreck in the head with energy causing his head to explode into black...worm like tentacles.
As the mutant's energy blast struck Derreck's head, it exploded into a mess of black, worm-like tentacles, causing those around him to gasp in shock and horror. But to their amazement, the tentacles quickly reformed, and Derreck was left standing there, seemingly unscathed.
Derreck was left with a confused expression on his face as the mutant turned around and stormed off in frustration.
The gathered mutants were left in shock at the display, having never seen anything like it before. Laura, Logan, and Storm rushed to Derreck's side to make sure he was okay. Derreck just shook his head, still confused as to why the mutant had attacked him.
"What was that all about?" Logan asked, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the crowd for any sign of trouble.
"I have no idea," Derreck replied, his voice still a bit neutral.
Storm placed a reassuring hand on Derreck's shoulder. "We'll get to the bottom of this," she said firmly. "No one deserves to be treated like that."
…
Laura stepped forward, her eyes flashing with anger. "That's enough!" she growled, her claws extending. "Back off and leave him alone!"
The mutants in the crowd hesitated, taken aback by Laura's fierce demeanor. Some of them looked ashamed, while others still looked angry.
Laura continued, "I don't know what's going on with all of you, but throwing things at him and attacking him isn't going to solve anything. We need to work together and figure out a solution."
Logan stepped forward to stand beside Laura, his metal claws glinting in the sunlight. "She's right," he said. "We need to stop fighting each other and start working together if we want to survive."
The mutants looked at each other, some nodding in agreement. Slowly, they began to disperse, muttering amongst themselves.
Laura and Logan watched them go, their expressions grim. They knew that this was just the beginning of their troubles. The revelation about resurrection had shaken the mutant community to its core, and tensions were running high. It was going to take all their strength and determination to navigate the uncertain future that lay ahead.
Laura turned to Derreck, who still had a neutral and confused expression on his face. She walked up to him and gave him a hug, saying, "I'm sorry about that. They don't understand."
Derreck returned the hug, "It's alright. I don't blame them for being scared. It's hard for them to understand."
Laura pulled back and looked at Derreck's neutral face, "You know, sometimes I forget that you're not like us. That you don't feel emotions the way we do."
Derreck shrugged, "It's just the way I am. I've never known anything different."
Laura's expression softened, "That must be hard. To not feel the full range of emotions."
Derreck nodded, "It can be. But I have other ways of experiencing the world. And I have you, and that makes everything better."
Laura smiled, "I'm glad I can be here for you."
They stood there for a moment, embracing each other in the silence, before Laura finally spoke up, "Come on, let's go back to the others."
…
destiny is watching them from the trees and is startled by kroako's voice...saying. "...i must admit i'm dissapointed...".
Destiny quickly turned her head towards the direction of the voice, her eyes narrowing as she tried to locate the source. "Who's there?" she demanded, her hand instinctively reaching for her blade.
Kroako emerged from the shadows, his imposing form towering over her. "I must admit, I'm disappointed," he repeated, his voice laced with a hint of amusement.
Destiny stood up, her posture tense. "What do you mean?" she asked, her eyes never leaving his form.
"I had hoped that you would have more respect for the laws of our land," Kroako replied, his tone stern. "But it seems that you and your kind are always trying to bend them to your will."
Destiny remained silent, knowing that arguing with Kroako would be futile. She simply stared at him, waiting for him to continue.
"Be warned, Destiny," Kroako said, his voice becoming more menacing. "If you or your allies try to undermine our laws again, there will be consequences."
Kroako's voice echoed through the trees once again, "And why have you been watching Derreck so closely lately? Is there something you're hiding from us, Destiny?"
After a moment destiny would relent telling kroakoa the information of the future she saw….
"Could you show me"? Kroako asked with a raised eyebrow.
After some hesitation destiny nodded her head and braced herself as she started to open a window in time…. Only for something to happen a moment later….
As Derreck's upper half comes through the window into time, he grins widely with his sharp teeth bared and says, "Here's Derreck!" Kroako is stunned, trying to make sense of the bizarre scene unfolding before him.
Destiny gasps, "Derreck, no!" and tries to pull him back through the window. But Derreck's upper half seems to be rooted in place, and he continues to grin at them from the other side.
Kroako, who had been standing nearby, takes a step back, startled by the sight before him. "What in the world?" he mutters under his breath.
Destiny struggles to pull Derreck back, but he's too strong. Suddenly, she clenches her fist and punches him in the stomach, sending him tumbling back through the window into time.
As the window closes, Kroako is left standing there, trying to process what he just witnessed. "What was that?" he mutters to himself.
Destiny let out a shaky breath, feeling unnerved by what she just witnessed. She had never seen anything like that before, and it had terrified her. She turned to Kroako and said, "I probably shouldn't look into his future again. That was...too much."
Kroako nodded, his expression serious. "Agreed. We should keep a close eye on Derreck and make sure that doesn't come to pass."
Destiny nodded in agreement, still feeling unsettled by what she saw. She couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was looming on the horizon, and it involved Derreck.
As they were still shaken by the glimpse into Derreck's future, they heard a rustling in the trees behind them. Turning around, they saw Derreck standing there with Laura, Logan, and Storm. He asked what the commotion was all about.
Kroako and Destiny were surprised to see them, having forgotten they were there. Destiny's unease lingered, and she couldn't help but feel that their glimpse into Derreck's future was a mistake. She brushed off the feeling and turned to Derreck, explaining that they heard a noise in the trees.
Logan quipped, "Must have been us. You know how noisy we can be." The group shared a laugh, momentarily easing the tension in the air.
As Derreck and Laura walked away, Logan and Storm would share a laugh about the exchange, unaware of the unsettling future glimpse that Destiny and Kroako had just witnessed. They would continue to chat and share stories by the campfire, enjoying the peacefulness of the night on Kroako.
Destiny however….could only feel a sense of foreboding….and something else.
…
Destiny takes a deep breath as she begins to recount what she saw through the window into time. Her words are hushed, her tone anxious as she relays the events to Mystique and the gathered mutants.
Nightcrawler listens intently, his expression grave, while Pixie bites her lip nervously. Kitty Pride crosses her arms, her brow furrowed in concern, and Rogue's eyes widen in alarm. The other Logan and Laura from the alternate universe exchange a worried glance, and Colossus' jaw clenches.
As Destiny finishes speaking, there is a heavy silence in the room. Mystique's eyes are narrowed in thought, and she rubs her chin. "So, he's invited us to his realm, has he?" she says, finally breaking the quiet.
Nightcrawler nods. "Ja, I received the message this morning. He wishes to come to a deal."
Kitty shakes her head. "But we don't even know what he wants," she says. "Or what he's capable of."
Rogue speaks up, her voice firm. "We can't let him take control of Derreck," she says. "We have to be careful."
The other Logan nods in agreement. "Yeah, we gotta have a plan. We can't just walk in there blind."
Laura from the alternate universe turns to Destiny. "Do you think it's safe to go back and look into Derreck's future again?" she asks.
Destiny hesitates, her brow furrowed. "I don't know," she says slowly. "I have a feeling that looking into his future was a mistake, but... we may not have a choice."
As Destiny spoke to the gathered mutants in her room, she recounted the future she had seen through the window of time. "In that future, I saw that something happened that resulted in the death of Laura," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "And then, Derreck's half brother took control of him."
Nightcrawler, Pixie, Kitty Pride, Rogue, and the other Logan and Laura from the alternate universe listened intently, their faces grave. Colossus stood in the back of the room, arms crossed, his expression unreadable.
"Do we know what happened to cause Laura's death?" Nightcrawler asked, breaking the silence.
"No, I couldn't see the details," Destiny replied. "But we must be careful. Derreck's half brother has invited us to his realm to come to a deal. We don't know what his intentions are, or if he will try to take control of Derreck again."
The room fell into a tense silence as they all contemplated what Destiny had just revealed. The weight of their responsibility hung heavily in the air. They all knew that they needed to proceed with caution, to protect their own and prevent the future that Destiny had seen from becoming a reality.
…
Destiny gathered the Quiet Council and relayed the information she saw about Derreck's future, the potential danger of his half brother's invitation, and the possible consequences if they were to take action. The council was alarmed and unsure of what to do, realizing the magnitude of the situation.
Magneto, with a solemn expression, spoke up. "We must not underestimate the threat that Derreck's half brother poses. But we must also not underestimate Derreck's abilities to defend himself."
Emma Frost added, "We must proceed with caution, but we cannot ignore the invitation. We must accept it and see what we can learn."
Xavier nodded in agreement. "We cannot allow fear to paralyze us. We must be vigilant, but we must also take risks in order to protect our people."
The rest of the council agreed, understanding the delicate balance they must strike. They knew that Derreck was a powerful mutant, but they were also aware that his half brother was just as powerful, if not more so.
As they planned their next steps, they knew that the fate of their world rested on their shoulders. The quiet council understood that they could not afford to make any mistakes, and they would need to be united and strong in their approach.
The Quiet Council listened to Destiny's report with a heavy silence, their minds racing with the possibilities and implications of what she had seen. As she spoke about Derreck holding open a window into time and how he wasn't himself, a chill went through the room. Destiny could feel the headache coming back, along with the echoes of Derreck's voice from the future.
"He's not himself," Destiny repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what's happened to him, but he's not the same person we knew before."
The room was quiet for a few moments before Emma Frost spoke up. "We cannot afford to be complacent about this," she said, her tone serious. "We need to tread carefully when we deal with his half-brother."
The other members of the council nodded in agreement, each lost in their own thoughts about what to do next. Some of them looked worried, while others looked resolute, determined to find a way to protect themselves and their people.
Destiny felt the headache intensify, and she knew that this was not going to be an easy task. They were dealing with powerful forces, and they needed to be careful not to make any mistakes that could cost them everything they had fought for.
"We'll need to keep a close eye on Derreck," she said, her voice strained. "He may not be able to control himself, and we don't want him to be used against us."
The council members nodded in agreement, and they all knew that this was just the beginning. They had a lot of work ahead of them, and they needed to be prepared for whatever was coming next.
Destiny asked to be excused as she stumbled out of the room and down the hall...while dizzy...
The rest of the council would watch her leave with concern, and Nightcrawler would follow her to make sure she was okay. As he caught up to her, he asked if she was all right and if there was anything he could do to help.
Destiny would shake her head and tell him that she just needed some fresh air. She leaned against the wall, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths to steady herself. Nightcrawler would stay with her, watching her carefully until she felt well enough to continue.
After a few moments, Destiny would straighten up, taking a deep breath
The rest of the council would watch her leave with concern, and Nightcrawler would follow her to make sure she was okay. As he caught up to her, he asked if she was all right and if there was anything he could do to help.
Destiny would shake her head and tell him that she just needed some fresh air. She leaned against the wall, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths to steady herself. Nightcrawler would stay with her, watching her carefully until she felt well enough to continue.
After a few moments, Destiny would straighten up, taking a deep breath and thanking Nightcrawler for his concern. She would tell him that she was fine now, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong.
Nightcrawler would nod in understanding, knowing that Destiny's visions were never to be taken lightly. He would offer to escort her back to her room, but she would decline, insisting that she was well enough to make it on her own.
As she walked away, Nightcrawler would watch her go with a sense of unease. He knew that there was something dark brewing on the horizon, and he could only hope that they would be able to stop it before it was too late.
Mystique would lead Destiny to a nearby chair, offering her a glass of water and asking if she needed anything else. Destiny would take the glass, but her hands were shaking so much that she almost dropped it. Mystique would look at her with concern, asking her what was wrong.
Destiny would try to speak, but her words came out as slurred and incoherent. She clutched her head in pain, her eyes shut tight as she tried to ride out the sudden wave of agony that washed over her.
Mystique would be quick to react, calling for help and gathering the other council members who were nearby. They would quickly realize that something was seriously wrong and take Destiny to the infirmary for further examination.
As Destiny suddenly wakes up, she leans over and grips her head, feeling a sharp pain. A tear in reality splits open across the room, and a grotesque reptilian head emerges, along with two reptilian arms. The lower half of the creature is rooted into the rift, like a tree branch.
Mystiqe was quick to react as she pulled out a gun an fired several rounds into its head making it hiss and recoil back into the rift…..
Then destiny would look up saying. "….It's caught derrecks scent….it's going for him! Like a moth drawn to a flame!"
So, as the group rushes to the other end of the island to protect Derreck, Destiny would explain that the creature is a bottom feeder feeding off beings from the dark multiverse. When it picked up Derreck's scent from her vision of his future, it's now going for him.
As this happened have they realized that it's not interested in them...it's trying to drag derreck through the crack in the reality...but derreck let out a growl as his arm was turned into a blade arm and the other was a metal claw as his feet rooted into the ground with black tentacles as they wrestled around and the creature was trying to pull him through as wolverine and darwin struggled to pull derreck back and laura was screaming while on its head...GET OFF OF HIM! As she stabbed her claws into its neck without any blood coming out of the wounds as she did...
As Laura tried to stab the creature, it turned its reptilian head towards her and snapped at her with its sharp teeth, causing her to jump back. The rest of the mutants continued to try and pull Derreck back, but the creature was too strong.
As they wrestled around derreck let out a frustrated shout as his blade arm cleaved into the creatures head...and going into mouth into it's throat and with a final yell he would rip the heart and stomach out as well as the tounge but it wasnt finished yet! to everyones suprise it would suddenly grab his blade arm with one hand and it would let out a pained roar as it nearly got him through the rift...and then suddenly it would let go as somthing pulled it thorugh the rift while it tries to hold on...and then...
As they wrestled around, Derreck let out a frustrated shout as his blade arm cleaved into the creature's head, going through its mouth into its throat. He then ripped out its heart, stomach, and tongue, but it still wasn't finished yet. To everyone's surprise, the creature suddenly grabbed Derreck's blade arm with one hand and tried to pull him through the rift.
Suddenly, Tenebrous appeared on the other side of the rift and grabbed the creature's arm, pulling it back into the rift. The creature let out a pained roar as it tried to hold on, but Tenebrous was too strong. The creature was finally pulled through the rift and disappeared.
Tenebrous regarded them with a neutral expression before grinning and saying, "I'm here on my father's orders." He then warned them, "In the future, be more careful what you let in…. Also, don't forget to visit our realm… See yeah."
As Tenebrous disappeared, the mutants were left stunned and wondering what to do next. They had just witnessed a terrifying creature and the appearance of Derreck's half-brother's son, who was now involved in their affairs.
Laura and Logan helped Derreck up, both surprised and grateful for Tenebrous' unexpected intervention. As they watched him disappear back into the rift, they knew they had no choice but to follow through on his father's invitation to visit his realm.
After making sure Derreck was okay, they gathered the rest of the council to discuss their plan of action. It was clear they couldn't ignore the threat of Derreck's half brother any longer. Or risk having other incursions endlessly with no end in sight…..
With a heavy heart, Destiny and Apocalypse agreed to accompany them on their visit to the dark multiverse, hoping to gain more insight into the future she had seen and the potential dangers they faced.
As they prepared for their journey, Laura couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew they were heading into dangerous territory, and the stakes were higher than ever before. But with Derreck's life and the fate of the multiverse on the line, they had no choice but to proceed.
As the group of mutants prepare to leave to meet Derreck's half-brother, they meet up with a few familiar faces from the Avengers. Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel are all there, waiting for them.
Captain America steps forward, "We've been informed of the situation, and we're here to lend our assistance. It's clear that this is a matter that requires all of our expertise."
Logan nods, "Thanks, Cap. We could use all the help we can get."
Spider-Man cracks a joke, "Hey, any excuse to hang out with some mutants, right?"
Iron Man chimes in, "Let's just hope we don't need to call in the big guns."
Black Widow looks at the group sternly, "We need to be cautious. We don't know what we're dealing with here."
Captain Marvel nods in agreement, "I'll make sure we're all prepared. We can't take any chances with this."
We're going to stick with you all the way since we volunteered"...as Captain America informs logan with a nod...and a sympathetic look on his face due to the information that came to light….
Logan nods back to Captain America, understanding the unspoken message. He then turns to the rest of the group and addresses them.
"Alright, then. We're going to need all the help we can get with this one. Derreck's half-brother is not someone to be underestimated."
And with that they were greeted by one of tenebrous' dragon/snake crows who looks at them and nods it's beaked head as it opens a doorway to the dark multiverse...
As they arrived in the dark multiverse, Tenebrous greeted them and led them through a landscape of twisted and distorted reality. They passed by strange and horrific creatures that lurked in the shadows, and the very air seemed to twist and writhe with malevolent energy.
Tenebrous guided them through the chaos, and after a long journey, they arrived at the foot of a towering monolith mountain. The mountain was made up of dark, jagged rocks that seemed to shift and move on their own, like they were alive.
As they looked up at the mountain, they saw a city of monolith-like buildings standing on top of it. The buildings were massive and imposing, and they seemed to be made out of the same dark rock as the mountain itself.
Tenebrous turned to them and spoke, "He's waiting inside. Follow me."
They followed him as he led them up the mountain, and as they climbed, they could feel the oppressive weight of the dark multiverse pressing down on them. The air grew thick with a sense of dread and unease, and they could hear strange whispers and mutterings echoing through the twisted landscape.
Finally, they reached the top of the mountain, and they saw a massive monolith structure that seemed to be the center of the city. Tenebrous led them inside, and they found themselves in a vast chamber that was filled with strange and eerie energy.
As they entered the room, Derreck's half brother would greet them with a wide grin, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Ah, Derreck! It's so good to see you," he would say, his voice surprisingly warm and welcoming.
Derreck would be taken aback by his half-brother's friendly demeanor, and he would glance over at his companions with a look of suspicion.
But his half-brother would quickly reassure him. "Don't worry, my dear brother. I have no ill intentions towards you or your friends. I'm simply thrilled to have you all here as my guests."
They would still be pretty hesitant and before they would ask a question a girl with iron armor on like a female knight would accompany a vampire like individual and say... father...they are here to betray you...they are just here to gain information... and shrowds face would turn to Derreck saying is this true? are you a group of tricksters here to destroy everything I've built.
There was a pause silence as logan muttered to himself…..Shit…..!
As Shrowd suddenly bursts out in laughter saying...You...you should have seen your faces! ha ha!... Oh! That was priceless! Absolutely priceless!
then he would turn to his other son and say...i already knew that Blood... of course they are here to betray me he said with some force. why else do you think they even agreed to come here...? and then he would say...go on get out of here...make yourself usfull for a change...
Blood would look at derreck and the others with a scowl before turning and walking away...
The group quickly gave him a puzzled look sayin...you...knew?
Shrowd would chuckle and say, "Of course I knew. You think I would let a group of strangers into my realm without knowing their true intentions?" He would then stand up from his throne and walk over to them. "But don't worry, I don't hold it against you. I understand the need to gather information. After all, knowledge is power after all".
As Blood walked away, the tension in the room dissipated a little bit, but the uneasy feeling remained. Shrowd turned to face Derreck and the others, a smile still on his face.
They asked about madness eternal's parasite that turned a whole world in the dark multiverse into frost creatures with the exception of logan, Laura, and Deadpool.
Shrowd nodded his head as the group mentioned the Frost creatures and their encounter with them. He sighed, saying that he's growing tired of hearing about them on their worlds. Suddenly, Madness Eternal appeared, with his sharp-toothed face and slithering tentacles, straightening his tie as he approached them.
The group asked him to explain his motives for unleashing the Frost creatures, to which he simply replied that he was just trying to have some fun. Shrowd, however, grew tired of his antics and interrupted, saying that he's growing tired of Madness Eternal's interference and games.
He would warn madness eternal that his patience is running thin...as he finds the frost parasite quite annoying...
Logan asked about his mother who's trapped inside of madness eternal...which shroud would look back at madness eternal and narrow his eye's saying. "...Is she still inside of you? If so...we have a custom of repaying debts...it's only right for the guests to be given a gift...one that logan would greatly apreciate...". Madness eternal would brisstle up saying...as you wish shrowd... then he would relinquish logan's mother who forgave logan in the first incursion in their universe...
As Logan laid his eyes on his mother, he couldn't believe it. He approached her slowly, tears welling up in his eyes, and she would look at him with a gentle smile. "Logan, my son," she would say, as he hugged her tightly. He would thank Shrowd and Madness Eternal for the gift, and Shrowd would nod his head in acknowledgement.
Shrowd would explain to the group that they need to destroy the parasite in order to close the rift. He would reveal that a similar parasite, like the one that nearly pulled Derreck through the rift on Kroako, is to blame. It's like a subspecies or a distant cousin.
He would then lead them to a room filled with ancient tomes and artifacts, and explain that they hold the key to defeating the creature. He would instruct them to study the tomes and use the artifacts to enhance their abilities.
As the group studied and prepared, Shrowd would watch from a distance, observing their progress with a mix of curiosity and amusement. He would occasionally offer his insights and advice, but mostly kept to himself.
Tenebrous, despite his grudge against Derreck, would offer to help them in this fight. Shrowd would nod in approval, acknowledging his son's offer, and tell them that they should prepare for the upcoming battle.
