Conner Kent sat, drinking a cup of coffee, watching the traffic and the people outside, and waiting. He found, now, watching the world go by was somewhat more relaxing than it once had been. He had been a man of action, and he still was, even now, but to a much lesser extent. He smiled as his oldest, truest friend, Tim Drake, walked in, ordered his own coffee, and sat with him.
"It's been a while, Conner. How's The Daily Planet treating you?" Tim gave his signature smirk as Conner just shrugged.
"It's alright. Behind the Heroes is better though. People are finally getting to hear what it's really like to be a superhero. I'm helping them understand why we do what we do." He chuckled quietly and sipped his coffee.
Tim chuckled as well and looked out the window. "I'm done with it all now. Damian took up the cowl and cape. Guess Bruce trusted him enough to allow it. So, are you still planning on trying to take over from Clark?"
Conner grinned as he, too, looked out the window. "I'm certainly going to try. But being able to interview heroes and villains alike has been an eye opening experience. So I'm going to try to not only fix the symptoms, but to cure the problem at its roots. Make it so people's lives can't be put to so much risk if they suddenly attain powers. I'm going to fix the system that makes it necessary for people to become villains in the first place. Would you like to help me, Tim?"
Tim smiled and nodded. He held out his hand to shake. "I'll work the civilian angle, try to use Bruce's money to make the world a better place, and you can work the heroes and villains angle, try to make people see how sometimes you can only make the least bad of only bad choices."
The two of them stood, shaking hands, and went their separate ways for now.
