X-Men: An Unnatural Omega Volume 3 Days of Future Present

Chapter 2: The Library, The Other Apocalypse and The Cycles of Patterns

Destiny cautiously walked through the dark chamber, filled with countless tombs of monsters from different worlds. She opened one and examined the bizarre creature inside. It had a grotesque clown-like appearance and seemed to react strangely whenever someone mentioned the word "birthday and party especially when the two words are used in the same sentence…." She quickly closed the tomb and put it back onto the shelf before moved on, feeling a sense of unease in this place.

Destiny was surprised to see a young man sitting on the table, staring at her with piercing blue eyes. He wears a dark blue jacket with white fur trim and a white shirt underneath, along with black pants and boots.

Destiny hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Um, excuse me...Who are you?"

The young man smirked, "I'm Luminous Frost, grandson of Shrowd and son of Tenebrous. And you must be one of the new guests in our realm."

Destiny nodded, still feeling a bit uneasy. "Yes, I am. I'm Destiny."

Luminous Frost raised an eyebrow. "Destiny, huh? Sounds like a superhero name. Are you here to save the day?"

Destiny thought about that for a second, "I wish it were that simple. We're here to close a rift that threatens to swallow both of our universes."

Luminous Frost leaned back on the table, his piercing blue eyes never leaving Destiny's. "Interesting. I'll make sure to stay out of your way then."

Destiny frowned, "What do you mean stay out of our way?"

Luminous Frost shrugged, "I'm just saying I have my own things to take care of. I won't interfere with your mission."

Destiny felt a chill run down her spine as Luminous Frost's left eye glowed with an eerie, cold light. She realized that there was more to this young man than met the eye.

As she thought about that he would reach into his blue eye socket and pull out a light grey spear which has a monolith end as it exits his head...as he turns and walks around her and says good luck as he dissaperes thorugh a portal to what looks like a circus with clowns laughing in the background...

Destiny watched in bewilderment as Luminous Frost pulled out the monolith spear from his eye socket and disappeared through a portal, leaving her alone in the chamber. She couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as she continued to explore the tombs.

As she walked further, she came across another tomb that caught her attention. It was guarded by a group of armored warriors, and when she approached, they moved aside to let her in. Inside the tomb, she saw a creature that resembled a giant spider with multiple eyes, and she couldn't help but shiver in fear.

As Destiny finished examining one of the monsters in the tombs, she heard a voice behind her. She turned around to see Tenebrous, who had quietly approached her. He noted that she had just met his younger son, Luminous Frost, and cautioned her not to betray his trust. "He may seem cold and distant, but he's very important to me," Tenebrous said with a hint of concern in his voice. "I love him very dearly, and I won't hesitate to protect him from any threats, no matter where they come from."

As Destiny expressed her surprise, Tenebrous would explain that he had some issues with his second oldest son in the past, but his other children don't have those problems. He would then express his disappointment in his son's behavior, saying that he had it coming due to his spoiled and entitled attitude.

Tenebrous would then continue to explain that he didn't approve of that behavior and that he tries to raise his children with better values. He would look at Destiny with a stern expression and say, "I hope you're not planning to betray my trust. I love all of my children very dearly, and I won't hesitate to take action if I have to."

Destiny would nod, feeling the weight of his words. She had heard stories of Tenebrous' ruthless nature, but she also sensed a deep love and loyalty towards his family. She promised herself that she would do her best not to let him down.

Logan hugged his mother tightly, still in disbelief that he had her back after all these years. She looked at him with a gentle smile and said, "Logan, my son, I forgave you a long time ago. It's time for us to move forward now that we have been reunited."

Logan and his mother would remain cautious as they moved through the catacombs, knowing that they were being watched. They scanned their surroundings for any signs of danger, but found nothing. Still, they couldn't shake the feeling of unease.

As they examined one of the tombs, Logan's mother would speak up. "We must be careful, Logan. This is not a place to let our guard down."

Logan would nod in agreement. "I know, Mom. But what do we do about Shrowd? Mistress Death warned us about him, but then why does he follow a code of honor?"

His mother would pause for a moment, considering the question. "We cannot be certain of his intentions, Logan. But we must take it one step at a time, and make sure we do not make any mistakes when dealing with this multiverse."

As they continued to explore, they could feel the eyes of their unseen observers following their every move. They couldn't see them, but they knew they were there.

Logan's senses were on high alert, ready for any surprise attacks. He would grip his claws tightly, preparing for any potential threats.

Despite the tension in the air, Logan felt a sense of calm knowing that his mother was with him. He knew that together, they could face anything that came their way.

A young woman emerged from the shadows with a right eye socket having an eerie reddish black glow to it…..like embers with a relaxed and cheerful demeanor. "Hello there!" she greeted Laura and the others. "I'm more of a subterfuge girl myself. My passion is shadows... and fire!" she added with excitement. "Don't worry, I don't bite guests," she assured them with a playful grin.

Laura couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy around Ember's Shadow, with her eerie appearance and deadly skills. But the woman's friendly demeanor put her somewhat at ease. "Uh, thank you," Laura replied politely.

Ember's Shadow chuckled. "Relax, you're safe here. Unless you cross Shrowd, of course," she added with a mischievous glint in her eye. "But you wouldn't do that, would you?"

As Ember's Shadow leaned against her greatsword with a monolith pommel, she seemed to be lost in thought. Laura and Derreck exchanged surprised glances, wondering what was going through her mind. After a moment of silence, Ember's Shadow looked up and addressed them with a serious tone.

"Looks like you're the one who killed my older brother and dishonored my other brother, huh?" she said, looking directly at Derreck.

Derreck shifted uncomfortably, unsure of how to respond. Before he could say anything, Ember's Shadow waved her hand dismissively.

"Don't worry," she said, "we're better off without them anyway. They always liked to exert power over others in the bad way, if you know what I mean."

She paused for a moment, as if lost in thought again. "We're better off without them," she repeated quietly.

Laura and Derreck exchanged another glance, unsure of what to make of Ember's Shadow's words. They couldn't tell if she was truly at peace with the loss of her brothers or if she was just putting on a brave face.

After a moment of silence, Ember's Shadow straightened up and gave them a cheerful grin. "But enough about that," she said, "let's focus on the task at hand. We need to take down that parasite and close the rift before it's too late."

With that, she turned and led the way deeper into the catacombs, her greatsword slung over her shoulder. Laura and Derreck followed, still unsure of what to make of this mysterious woman who seemed to hold so much pain and yet so much strength at the same time.

As Captain America, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel continued their search through the tombs, they stumbled upon a large, ancient book. As they opened it, the face on the cover spoke up, interrupting their reading.

"Hey! I'm trying to sleep here!" the face exclaimed, surprising the trio.

They exchanged confused glances before the book explained that it was a sentient being, and asked if it could go back on the shelf now.

Captain America spoke up first, asking the book about its origins and purpose. The book explained that it was known as the Book of the Dark Dawn, and had been used by Stephen Strange to defeat Dormammu in a previous battle.

Iron Man raised an eyebrow in surprise, impressed by the book's impressive history. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel examined the pages, reading about the twisted counterparts in this multiverse.

As they continued to peruse the pages, the book spoke up once again, reminding them that it needed rest and asking to be returned to the shelf.

The trio nodded in agreement, carefully placing the book back on the shelf before continuing their search through the tombs.

As they walked past the other books in the section, Captain America, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel couldn't help but hear the whispers and laughter from the other tomes. "Looks like we've got some new readers," one of them said with a chuckle. "Same reaction as the last ones," another quipped.

Iron Man rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath, "Why do I get the feeling we're not the first Avengers to come across this book?"

Captain America gave a wry smile and responded, "Probably because we're not. But let's not dwell on it. We've got a job to do."

Captain Marvel nodded in agreement, and they continued their search through the tombs, carefully examining the twisted counterparts of themselves from other multiverses. As they turned the pages of the book, they came across an entry about a version of Iron Man who had merged with a symbiote, becoming a twisted and malevolent being.

Captain Marvel couldn't help but shudder at the thought, while Iron Man looked fascinated. "I've got to say, that's pretty cool," he remarked.

Captain America gave him a stern look and said, "We're not here to admire the villains, Stark. We're here to stop them."

Iron Man shrugged and said, "Hey, I can appreciate the artistry of a good villain, Cap. But you're right, we've got work to do."

Captain America, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel were carefully examining a small shelf with only a few books. The books detailed the creature they were hunting, and it seemed to be much larger on the other side, like a tree with many branches, each with a different creature on it. The books had strange symbols on them, which the guard standing next to the bookshelf identified as a universe-consuming threat with a level 97 rating.

As they looked through the books, they couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The creatures were unlike anything they had ever seen before, and the information on how to defeat them was sparse at best. Suddenly, a book with a robotic voice of Tony Stark spoke up, offering to help.

"I can assist you if you want," a book said as it floated up to them…a book with Iron man's helmet face on it….. "I have the pages you're looking for."

The trio looked at each other in surprise. They had heard of strange beings and creatures in other universes, but a talking book was a new one for them.

"Are you serious?" Iron Man asked, still trying to process what was happening.

"Absolutely," the book replied. "I'm Tony Stark, after all. I have access to all sorts of knowledge and information."

Captain Marvel stepped forward, eyeing the book skeptically. "And why should we trust you?" she asked.

The book let out a robotic chuckle. "Well, I suppose you don't have much choice, do you? Besides, I have no reason to deceive you. My purpose is to help, and then theres the fact that I've been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks now with no one to read my pages…..".

With a shrug, the trio agreed to let the book assist them. Tony Stark's voice emanated from the pages as he guided them through the information they needed to defeat the creature. As they continued to read, the symbols on the books began to glow, and the guard next to the shelf looked on in awe.

"I've never seen anything like this before, "Iron Man said in wonder.

"Me neither," Captain America replied. "But we have a job to do, and we need to be ready for whatever comes our way."

With that, they continued to study the books and prepare for the battle ahead.

As they continued to study the various books on the creature, they finally found its weakness: they needed to lure the creature's heart, which appeared as a humanoid world tree with eyes and arms, out into the open. It was a risky move, but they didn't have any other option if they wanted to close the rift and save both universes.

As Apocalypse reached for another book, his eyes caught sight of a dusty tome titled "The Dilemma of the X Gene". Curiosity getting the better of him, he opened it and began to read. It was a collection of essays and musings on the nature of mutantkind, their powers and the societal implications of such abilities. One quote in particular caught his attention, spoken by a dying scholar:

"If only we had the wisdom as well as knowledge to guide us, then the darkness wouldn't be so severe inside our hearts."

Apocalypse couldn't help but ponder the truth in those words. As a mutant himself, he knew firsthand the danger of wielding great power without the necessary wisdom and guidance. He closed the book, lost in thought, wondering if there was a way to prevent the darkness from overtaking them all.

As he put the book back onto the shelf he saw the plaque next to the book...dedicated to apocalypse...the kind and just leader of the free world….

Apocalypse raised an eyebrow at that and studied the other books and their plaques….

As he continued to browse through the books, Apocalypse couldn't help but notice a pattern. Many of the titles were similar, all bearing his name in some way. "Apocalypse the Humble God," "Apocalypse the Redeemer of All Creatures," "Apocalypse the Wise One Who Never Was Quick for a Fight," and "Apocalypse the One Who United the World That We Live In." It was strange to see these different interpretations of himself. He had always seen himself as a conqueror, a god, a ruler. But these titles presented a different perspective, one that he had never considered before.

As he reached for another book, he saw a plaque next to it with his name on it. He hesitated for a moment, wondering what kind of book it could be. When he read the title, "Apocalypse: The Kind and Just Leader Who Always Led in Honor, Integrity, and Temperance, and Most of All...Unconditional Love in All His Days," he was taken aback. He couldn't believe that such a book existed, and that it was dedicated to him.

As he flipped through the pages, he saw images of himself leading his people with compassion and fairness. He saw himself helping those in need, listening to their problems and finding solutions. He saw himself treating everyone, mutant and human alike, with respect and kindness. It was a side of himself that he had buried deep within him, the man he could have been if he had chosen a different path.

Apocalypse was lost in thought as he put the book back on the shelf. He realized that the titles of the books in this section were not just different interpretations of himself, but also reflections of the different choices he could have made in his life. It made him wonder what kind of person he would be now if he had made different choices, and it made him question the path he had taken.

As he turns around a corner and sees a guard guarding the books he asks...which version of me was the best...and the guard would say after a moment of thought...apocalypse the one who sacrificed himself for his universes stead when it was undeserving of such a gift of hope…..where the races built monuments to him not because they had to….but because they wanted to….

The guard's response surprised Apocalypse, as he never thought of sacrificing himself for anything or anyone. He pondered for a moment before speaking again. "Do you believe in redemption?" he asked the guard.

The guard pondered that for a moment before nodding. "Of course. Everyone deserves a chance to make things right."

Apocalypse nodded and continued walking, lost in thought. The idea of redemption intrigued him. Maybe it was time for him to start making things right, to become the person he could have been all those years ago. He continued wandering through the library, searching for more books that could enlighten him further.

Spiderman felt a sense of confusion and disbelief as he read the title of the book in front of him: "The Theory of a Third Multiverse." He had always believed that there were only two multiverses - the one he was from and the one they were currently exploring. But now, here was a book suggesting the existence of a third.

He opened the book and began to read, his mind racing with possibilities. The book detailed a theoretical framework for a third multiverse that existed alongside the two others. This multiverse, according to the author, was a nexus of infinite possibilities and realities, a place where anything and everything could exist.

the book would confirm evidence of an omniverse...many, many, multiverses all with different overarching patterns on how the earths and other worlds interact and how one multiverse it says in the origin point with all other multiverses branching out from...and the concept of a creator like being who set the events in motion...who has a higher existence than all the other universes since it's own is the one that all options of universes branch out from whether they know it or not...

As he reads it it's essentially what the promise of heaven on his world was...a bright multiverse of higher existence...but till this day it's just a theory...

Spiderman puts down the book, lost in thought. He had always wondered about the true nature of existence and the possibility of a higher power. The concept of an omniverse, a vast network of multiverses, was mind-boggling, and the idea of a creator-like being even more so.

He couldn't help but think about his own world and the promise of a brighter future in the afterlife. It seemed similar to the theory described in the book, but he couldn't help but feel a twinge of doubt. Was it all just a theory? Was there really a higher existence beyond their own world?

Lost in his thoughts, Spiderman didn't notice when a figure materialized next to him. It was Ember's Shadow, the guard of the catacombs. She had been watching him for a while, intrigued by his intense focus on the book.

"Interesting read, huh?" she said, her voice cutting through his thoughts.

Spiderman jumped, startled by her sudden appearance. "Uh, yeah, it's pretty mind-bending stuff," he replied, still a bit dazed.

Ember's Shadow nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "It's easy to get lost in the idea of a higher existence, but don't forget the beauty of the present moment. After all, who knows what the future holds?"

Spiderman would be surprised by her sudden appearance and would ask her about her grandfather's obsession with the books. Ember's Shadow would reply that her grandfather has a vast knowledge of the multiverse and its many inhabitants, and that he is constantly seeking to expand his understanding. She also warns him to be careful with the books, as her grandfather can be quite possessive of them.

Ember Shadow warned Spider-Man not to lose any of the books, as her grandfather, Shrowd, is almost obsessed with them for some reason. She went on to mention that he has a room that even she cannot materialize into, and that he is always talking to a faint light in the room. Spider-Man found this intriguing and asked if she knew what the light was. Ember Shadow shook her head and said that she had no idea, but that it had always been there since she could remember.

Spider-Man couldn't help but be curious about this mysterious room and the light that Shrowd was always talking to. He wondered if it had any connection to the theory of the core-multiverse he had just read about, and if it held any answers to the mysteries of the omniverse.

Ember's Shadow would nod and say that her grandfather has been studying the Core for a long time, but nobody really knows what it is or where it came from. She says that Shrowd has been searching for a way to access it, but so far he's been unsuccessful. Spider-Man would ask if there's any information on the Core in the books they've been reading, but Ember's Shadow would shake her head and say that it's a topic that's not often written about.

As they continue to talk, Spider-Man would notice that Ember's Shadow seems to be hiding something, so he would ask her if everything is alright. She would hesitate for a moment before admitting that she's worried about her father and grandfather as her grandfather is different since he's seen the light...like he's always searching for it...

Also the fact that her father is struggling internally trying to earn his fathers approval…as it's only that light he talks about….well most of the time anyway….

Spider-Man would listen to Ember Shadow's worries and offer to help in any way he can. He would try to reassure her that everything will be okay and that they'll find a way to help her family. As they talked, he would also wonder about the mysterious light in her grandfather's room and what it could mean. Could it be connected to the Core of All Realities?

He would suggest to Ember Shadow that they could try to find more information about the Core, and maybe that could help shed some light on what her grandfather is searching for. He would also offer to keep an eye on her family and make sure they're okay.

Ember Shadow would thank Spider-Man for his kind words and offer to help him in any way she can. She would say that her grandfather is a wise and powerful being, and that if anyone could find the light he's searching for, it would be him. She would also warn Spider-Man to be careful, as her grandfather's quest for the light has led him down some dangerous paths in the past.

Ember's Shadow leaned in closer to Spider-Man, her expression serious. "I need to tell you something. Every multiverse is unique, and that means there are no Spider-Mans, no Captain Americas, and no heroes or villains that you know of. The only beings that seem to repeat themselves are pantheons, but even they exist in different forms that follow the overarching ideas."

Spider-Man's eyes widened in shock. "What? But I've traveled to so many different universes and met so many versions of myself and my friends."

"I know it's hard to believe," Ember's Shadow said, "but it's only in obscure texts and pieces that we've found of what came before. It's the reason why my family and I are so obsessed with collecting books and artifacts from different multiverses. We're trying to piece together the bigger picture of how everything came to be and how we fit into the grand scheme of things."

Ember's Shadow leans in closer to Spider-Man, her voice low and conspiratorial. "There are some obscure texts and fragments we've found that mention the existence of alternate versions of certain beings, but they are few and far between. I've heard whispers of a warrior called Wonder Woman, and the Chronicles of the Justice League, but it's all just rumor at this point."

She pauses for a moment before continuing, "But who knows? Maybe there is some truth to it. After all, the omniverse is vast and full of infinite possibilities. It's just a matter of finding them."

She gives Spider-Man a small smile before standing up straight and readjusting her sword at her side. "But enough about that. We have work to do. Let's focus on the task at hand and worry about the mysteries of the omniverse later."

spider man dosnt know what to make of that...wonder woman? the justice league? what multiverse is that pattern based on?

Eambers shadow would say simply to spidermans question...a multiverse with different hero's and villains that repeat for every universe instead of the ones you know and have met and will meet...

Spider-Man nods, trying to process this information. It's hard to wrap his head around the idea that there could be an infinite number of multiverses, each with its own unique heroes and villains. He realizes that he still has so much to learn about the multiverse and the different patterns that exist within it.

He thanks Ember's Shadow for the information and promises to keep the books safe. As he walks away, he can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder about the infinite possibilities that exist within the multiverse.

Jean Grey would take notice of the book and her curiosity would be piqued. She would reach for it and run her hand over the fur on the cover. As she opens it, the pages within reveal a wealth of knowledge about fate and destiny. It speaks of how one's choices can shape their fate, but ultimately, there are some things that cannot be changed.

Cyclops, Kitty Pryde, and Gambit would gather around as Jean begins to read the book out loud, sharing what she's learned. As she reads on, they come across a passage that speaks of the concept of "locked fate," where the certain actions and consequences of an individual are predetermined and no amount of choice or free will can change it once it progresses a certain point.

This concept troubles them, and they begin to discuss the implications of such a fate. Gambit brings up the idea of being cursed with bad luck, while Kitty mentions the idea of a prophecy foretelling one's fate. Cyclops adds that perhaps it is the choices we make that determine our fate, but only up to a certain point.

Jean Grey, Cyclops, Kitty Pride, and Gambit feel a chill run down their spines as they read the words on the pages of the book. It's as if the book is speaking to them directly, warning them of their addiction to power and their inability to escape their fates. The book brings up their past actions, including their obsession with resurrection and the manipulation they have partaken in on the council.

The words on the page seem to condemn them for their choices and their lack of ability to change their fates. They feel a sense of hopelessness wash over them as they realize that no matter what they do, their fates are predetermined.

Gambit speaks up, "But surely, there must be some way to break free from our fates? To change our destinies?"

The book would read in response to Gambit's question that their fate can only be changed if their choices and actions change. However, if they continue to make selfish choices and take actions that only serve their own interests, then what does it matter in the end? The book would continue to warn them about the dangers of addiction to power and the consequences of their actions, urging them to consider the impact of their choices on the world and those around them.

Jean Grey, Cyclops, Kitty Pride, and Gambit paused in silence, pondering the words of the book. They couldn't deny the truth in its words. They had made choices that led them to where they were now, and those choices had consequences.

Gambit sighed heavily, knowing that he had made his fair share of mistakes. "What do we do now?" he asked, looking to the others for guidance.

Jean Grey spoke up, her voice soft but firm. "We accept our mistakes and strive to make better choices in the future. We can't change the past, but we can learn from it and use it to make a better future."

As they look down at the pages they notice something….

That the words are gone now...leaving blank pages and out of the darkness steps a group of three woman with a teenage girl who sneaks up behind them saying...if only it were that simple... and they would continue saying that if they are not careful their choices will still not change if they cannot get rid of their arrogance...

The women introduced themselves as the Fates as past, present and future, and the teenage girl as their apprentice, who's repeat. They explained that they are the ones responsible for maintaining the balance of the multiverse, ensuring that every choice has consequences and that every action has a reaction.

They warn the X-Men that their choices have consequences, and that their actions will ultimately determine their fate. They tell them that they must be careful not to fall prey to arrogance or selfishness, as those traits will ultimately lead to their downfall.

As the three women and the teenage girl continue to speak, they keep cutting off the X-Men's responses, finishing their sentences for them mid-sentence, and it gets annoying. They bring up the X-Men's actions of the past and their past selves who are trapped in limbo paying for it.

The teenage girl speaks up and says, "You see, the choices you make today will have consequences tomorrow, and if you continue on this path, you'll be no better than your past selves." She points to a section of the book that shows the consequences of their past actions, and the X-Men are horrified by what they see.

Jean says narrowing her eye's, well...will we fail again...? and the younger one shrugs and says...if your infected by darkness of your actions then yes...which you are and shall be...the seeds have already been sown as you have seen in destinies brief image of derrecks future...and its ripples are still being felt by all throughout time... then as jean turns and walks away they say...for one multiverse to live...one must die...so says the future histories of one side or the other...

The Fates continue to speak, their voices dark and foreboding. "You ask about Derreck's fate," they say. "Know that he is but a pawn in a larger game, one that has been played out countless times before. He is the child of the void and death, and his fate is set in stone. There will be a needless death, no matter what path you choose. His fate is inescapable, as are all of yours."

The X-Men are filled with dread at the Fates' words, and they ask if there is any way to change the course of events. The Fates merely laugh, their voices echoing through the dimly lit room. "You cannot escape the cycle of life and death, the ebb and flow of existence," they say. "But perhaps there is a way to minimize the damage. Perhaps there is a way to ensure that the needless death is not in vain."

The X-Men are intrigued by the Fates' words, and they ask what they can do to prevent the needless death. The Fates merely smile, their eyes gleaming with a malevolent light. "All will be revealed in time," they say. "For now, know that your actions will have consequences, and that your fate is intertwined with Derreck's. The two of you are linked, and your destinies are intertwined. How you choose to act will determine the fate of all."

The Fates look at the X-Men and give them advice, "When you meet Derreck's father, be honest and tell him it was all due to your choices that brought the outcome on his boy...whether good or bad." They continue, "It is the only way for him to truly understand and make peace with what has happened. The truth may hurt, but it is better than living with a lie."

At this point kitty pride would grow frustrated and ask firmly what about all of you? What's your end.

They would suddenly hold up intricately woven chains that lead to their chests and disappear into their cloaks…saying that these are their chains of fate's as much as the yours….

The Fates of the Dark Multiverse and their apprentice would respond to Kitty Pride's question by saying, "Our end is the same as all beings in this existence, to fade into obscurity and be forgotten. But before that, we will continue to weave the chains of fate and guide those who dare to seek our counsel. For we are the keepers of the balance, and our work is never done."

The group of X-Men would be left with a sense of unease and wonder at the cryptic words of the fates of the dark multiverse. The intricate chain that the fates weave that connects all living things, including their own, would leave them feeling small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

With those cryptic words, the Fates fade into the shadows, leaving the X-Men to ponder their words and contemplate their next move.

As mystique browsed a section she couldn't help but stop at the title of the first book…the teddy universe of build-a-lot workshop...

Mystique looks at the book curiously, wondering what kind of universe could be created around a teddy bear workshop. As she opens the book, she sees pages upon pages filled with colorful illustrations of the teddy bear toys who are ominous as they are little lunitics who come alive and kill people who trespass in their land...like a little kids nightmare...and as she looks at the picture she sees one looking like spider-man and Deadpool with the Deadpool one cutting his way out of the package...

Mystique shudders at the thought of such a twisted universe, where children's toys turn into murderers. She can't help but wonder what kind of mind could create such a thing. As she flips through the pages, she sees more teddy bears in different forms, each one more horrifying than the last. Some have tentacles, others have chainsaws for hands, and one even has a disturbingly human-like face.

Mystique can't help but feel a sense of dread as she reads about the teddy bear's reign of terror and the human resistance fighting against them. She can't imagine a world where toys could actually harm people, and the thought sends shivers down her spine.

As she continues to read, she notices a symbol that appears on each page, a twisted version of a teddy bear with sharp teeth and glowing eyes. Mystique can't help but wonder if this is some kind of warning, a sign that the teddy bears could exist in other universes as well.

As Mystique looked around the section, she was disturbed by the bizarre titles of the books. She saw "The Fuzzy Bloody Monkeys of Slaughter-lot," "The Tin Soldiers of the Toybox Castles," and even "Cartoon Earth of Pain" with its dangerous traps that knocked people silly. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was like someone had taken every child's fantasy and turned it into a nightmare.

Mystique couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to these books. She knew that sometimes, the most innocent-looking things could be the most dangerous. As she flipped through the pages of "The Teddy Universe of Build-a-Lot Workshop," she couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding.

She wondered who could have created these twisted worlds and why. Were they just a sick joke or was there some deeper meaning behind them? Mystique knew that she had to be careful. She didn't want to end up like one of the hapless victims in these books.

As Mystique looked up from the book, she saw the teddy bear knights in front of her. They greeted her with a creepy, high-pitched voice that made her skin crawl. She couldn't help but shudder at the sight of them.

"Hello, miss," one of the teddy bears said, holding up its sword in greeting. "Welcome to our world of toys and terror."

Mystique tried to keep a calm facade, not wanting to give them the satisfaction of seeing her fear. "Uh, thanks," she replied hesitantly.

The teddy bears continued to grin and stare at her with their black, soulless eyes. "Have you come to play with us?" another one asked, its voice unnervingly cheerful.

Mystique shook her head. "No, I'm just browsing. I think I'll leave you to it," she said, backing away slowly.

As she turned to leave, the teddy bears chuckled to themselves, knowing that they had gotten to her. She couldn't shake the feeling that they were still watching her, even as she walked away.

Mystique just turned a corner and see destiny who just got done talking with tenebrous who walked away.

Destiny would turn to Mystique with a small smile on her face as she listened to her talk about the creepy teddy bear universe. "Sounds like quite the experience," she would say before adding, "Have you heard of the clown universe?"

Mystique would look at her quizzically before shaking her head. "No, what's that?"

Destiny would explain to Mystique that in this particular universe, the clowns are not what people typically think of as clowns. They are grotesque and sinister beings that have taken on the appearance of clowns, with twisted and distorted features and sharp teeth. And when someone mentions the words "birthday party," it triggers a frenzy in them that is almost uncontrollable. They become even more dangerous and unpredictable than they already are, and they will stop at nothing to find the source of the celebration.

Destiny would add that it's not just limited to this universe either. There are many universes where seemingly harmless things can trigger a dangerous response in the inhabitants. It's a reminder that everything is connected and that one seemingly insignificant action can have far-reaching and unexpected consequences.

Mystique shakes her head in disbelief and murmurs, "What kind of twisted mind would create a multiverse like this? It's as if they took all the fears and nightmares of every child and brought them to life in the most gruesome way possible. It's not just darkness….it's madness" She takes a deep breath and continues, "But at the same time, there must be a reason for its existence. Perhaps it serves as a warning or a lesson to those who would misuse their power and create such monstrosities."

A book book yelled down the corridor...I heard that!

The Codex book would continue to explain how the multiverse they are currently in operates, and how it's a result of the darkness that exists within them and all living beings. It would describe how the multiverse feeds off of the fears and madness of those living within it, and how it's essentially a parasite to the destinies and mystiques of their own multiverse.

The book would also elaborate on the fact that the dark multiverse is a result of a cosmic balance that exists between creation and destruction. It would explain that as one universe is created, another is destroyed, and that the dark multiverse is essentially the remains of these destroyed universes.

As the book speaks, the air around them would start to grow heavy, and the sound of cackling laughter would begin to fill the room. The Codex would warn them that they must be careful, for the darkness of this multiverse can infect and corrupt those who enter it, and those who are not strong enough to resist its temptations will fall to their own fears and madness.

The book would explain that just like in the realm of the hells, in this multiverse the darkness and madness infects those who are not vigilant and cautious. It spreads like a disease, corrupting and twisting all it touches. Even the purest of hearts can succumb to its influence if they are not careful. And once infected, it's almost impossible to escape its grasp. The book warns them to be careful and always watchful of their thoughts and actions, for the darkness is always lurking, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

And then there's the other guy that we heard rumor's about...called the core... which destiny and mystiqe would look at eachother confused..

The book would explain that the Core is the origin point of all multiverses, the center of creation, and the being that set the events in motion. It would also explain the concept of the Omniverse, which is the sum total of all existing universes, including all the different multiverses. The book would go on to say that the Core is a being of immense power and intelligence, and that it has the ability to manipulate the fabric of reality itself.

The concept of the Core, or the Absolute God, is that it is a being that exists at the center of the original multiverse. It is said to have created all other multiverses and governs their existence. The Core is the origin point of all other possibilities and realities. Every decision, every choice made in every universe, is a direct result of the Core's influence. It is the ultimate power in the multiverse and holds the fate of all living beings in its hands.

However, the Core is also a mystery. No one knows for sure what it is or what its motivations are. Some speculate that it is a conscious being, while others believe it to be a force of nature. Regardless, the Core's power is undeniable, and its influence is felt throughout all multiverses.

Destiny and Mystique would be stunned and amazed at the idea of an absolute god at the center of all the multiverses. They would be filled with questions and wonder about the true nature of existence and the purpose of their own existence within the multiverse. The concept of an all-powerful being controlling everything would challenge their beliefs and understanding of the world they thought they knew. They would be left with a sense of awe and curiosity, wondering what other secrets and mysteries the multiverse held.

The Codex book would caution them to be careful with their words as Shrowd has been fixated on some kind of glow in his room, as if he is searching for something similar to the core. It would also warn them that there are other beings out there who may seek to exploit the knowledge of the core for their own selfish gain.

Jean, Gambit, Kitty Pride, and Scott approached Mystique and Destiny with looks of concern on their faces. They explained that they had just encountered four fates of the dark multiverse who spoke of a needless death of Derreck, which had left them feeling uneasy. Mystique and Destiny listened attentively, but when they asked for more information, the group found it difficult to explain.

After a moment of silence, Jean spoke up. "These fates are different than any we've encountered before," she said. "They seem to know things that others don't, and they speak with a certain... certainty."

they would say that the fates told the that their actions do not change so their fates they sow cannot change...and how it will go one way or the other...but in the end...it will be the same...

Destiny would nod her head in understanding, having experienced similar fates in her own life. She would ask if there was any way to change their fate, to which the X-Men would shake their heads, saying that the fates were unchangeable.

Mystique, on the other hand, would grow frustrated, saying that she refuses to be a pawn in some cosmic game. She would demand to know if there was any way to break free of their predetermined fate.

The X-Men would look at each other, unsure of how to answer. Jean Grey would finally speak up, saying that while their actions may not change their fate, they still have the power to choose their actions.

They knew what we said before we said it...they kept finishing our sentences and before they met them they read the words on the book about them that that was responding to everything we said...like they are talking now...

Gambit, Kitty Pride, and Scott nod in agreement as they explain to Mystique and Destiny that the Fates of the Dark Multiverse seem to have a unique ability to know what will be said before it's spoken. They seem to have a complete understanding of the choices and actions of individuals across time and space, and how those choices will ultimately shape their fates.

Furthermore, the book seemed to respond directly to their questions and statements, leading them to believe that the Fates and the book are connected in some way. Mystique and Destiny look at each other in shock and disbelief, unable to comprehend the extent of the Fates' power and knowledge.

As they discuss the ominous message about Derreck's fate, the group can't help but feel a sense of unease and dread. The idea that their actions may not ultimately matter, and that their fate is already set in stone, is a terrifying thought.

They would tell them that the fates said before they left that they could minimize the damage...and forge a path with a more positive outcome for everyone involved even if they were albeit blunt in their responses...

The X-Men would nod in agreement and say that they understood the message and would do their best to make choices that lead to a more positive outcome. They knew that they couldn't change their fate, but they could try to minimize the damage and help as many people as possible along the way.

Jean Grey would add that they needed to be careful, as their choices not only affected themselves but also the people around them, and they didn't want to cause any needless deaths or tragedies. Gambit would agree and say that they needed to be mindful of their actions and the consequences that came with them.

Kitty Pryde would chime in and say that they also needed to keep an eye on Shrowd, as the fates mentioned that he was becoming increasingly obsessed with something, and it could be dangerous if left unchecked.

Destiny would listen to their words and nod thoughtfully, saying that she could see the weight of their responsibilities as heroes, but she had faith that they would make the right choices in the end. Mystique would also agree and say that she would do whatever it takes to help them minimize the damage and bring about a more positive outcome.

The X-Men would thank them for their support and advice, and they would all leave the section of the library, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As Magneto approaches the glass case, he can feel a strange energy emanating from the mask. He looks closely at it and can see that it's not just an ordinary mask. There are intricate designs etched into the surface that seem to shift and change every time he blinks.

As he stands there, trying to figure out what it could be, he hears his parents' voices whispering to him from the mask. At first, he thinks it's just his imagination, but the voices become louder and more distinct. They sound like they're calling out to him, asking for his help.

Magneto tries to ignore the voices, but they keep calling to him, urging him to take the mask and use its power to help mutants. He can feel the guards' eyes on him, watching his every move, but he's too transfixed by the mask to care.

Suddenly, the whispers become more urgent, and Magneto feels a surge of power emanating from the mask. He reaches out to touch it, and as his fingers brush against the surface, he's engulfed in a blinding light.

When the light fades, Magneto finds himself standing in a strange, otherworldly realm, surrounded by swirling colors and bizarre landscapes. He can see his parents standing in front of him, beckoning him to come closer.

Magneto's parents appeared in the whispering voice from the mask and tried to warn him about something dangerous concerning Derreck. However, before they could explain further, the fates of the dark multiverse with their apprentice appeared and cast his mind back to reality.

The fates of the dark multiverse with their apprentice would appear in the room with Magneto as he falls back, and they would greet him with their ominous presence. As he struggles to get up, they would remind him of their abilities and how they know what he does before he does it.

"You cannot escape us, Magneto," they would say in unison. "We know your thoughts before they cross your mind, and we know your actions before they become deeds. Do not forget that."

The fates of the dark multiverse would caution Magneto about the mask, telling him that it is off-limits because it has no master but one, and that one is not him. They can sense his longing to use it, but they warn him that the mask is dangerous and powerful. It can give him great power, but at a great cost. The cost of his sanity, and perhaps his very soul. They tell him that the mask is a tool of destruction and chaos, and that he should leave it alone before it consumes him.

Magneto would be taken aback by their warnings, but he would not be deterred. He is drawn to the power of the mask, and he feels that he can control it. He would argue with the fates, telling them that he is not afraid of its power and that he can handle it.

But the fates would not be swayed. They would continue to warn him about the dangers of the mask, telling him that it has a will of its own and that it will not be controlled. They would tell him that he should leave the mask alone and focus on the task at hand, which is to protect his people and his world.

The fates of the dark multiverse with their apprentice look at Magneto with a dark and ominous aura, and respond to his curiosity about the mask with their usual bluntness.

"You shall use the mask in time," they say in unison, "and when that happens, you'll not only wish you hadn't, but you'll doom all of mutant and human kind on your world, even those who passed on."

Magneto's eyes widen with shock and confusion as he tries to make sense of their ominous warning. "What are you talking about? I would never do something that would harm my people!"

The fates simply chuckle, their cold laughter echoing through the room. "Oh, you will, Erik," they say. "Your thirst for power and control will lead you down a dark path, and when you finally use the mask, it will be the beginning of the end for your world."

Magneto recoils in horror at their words, but the fates continue, their voices growing darker and more menacing. "And not just your world," they say. "The repercussions of your actions will be felt across the multiverse, as the darkness you unleash will spread like a disease."

The son of the void and death will have his fate come to pass due to your choice and the choice of those around you...a choice that one way or the other leads to a needless death...as the skies burn and the realities boil over in misery since your choice will not change...just as your previous selves didn't when you supposedly were brought back...all because you fall back onto power again and again... and because you kill those who threaten your community you have all built...

The fates' words would leave Magneto shaken as he tries to make sense of their cryptic messages. He wonders if their warnings about a needless death and the consequences of his actions are meant for him or for someone else. He knows that their words about the son of the void and death are about Derreck, but he can't help but feel responsible in some way.

Magneto can't shake the feeling that he is at a crossroads, and his choice will have far-reaching consequences for everyone around him. He knows that he has a duty to protect mutantkind, but at what cost? As he stares at the forbidden mask, he can't help but wonder what power it holds and whether it could be the key to saving or dooming them all.

In the end, Magneto decides to heed the fates' warning and leave the mask untouched. He knows that his actions have consequences and that he must choose his path carefully. The words of the fates stay with him long after they have left, and he knows that he must use his power wisely if he hopes to avoid a needless death and ensure a brighter future for mutant and humankind alike.

As Magneto backs away from the case with the mask in it, the laughter of the fates echoes in his mind. He feels a shiver run down his spine as he realizes the weight of their words. The possibility of a needless death hangs heavy in the air, and he can't help but feel that he's somehow responsible for it.

As he leaves the room, he can't shake off the feeling of unease. The words of the fates and the image of the mask linger in his mind. He knows that he must be careful and avoid making choices that could lead to disaster.

In the back of his mind, he wonders what kind of power the mask holds, and why the fates seemed so insistent on warning him about it. He knows that he must tread carefully and avoid making any rash decisions, for the fate of mutant and human kind rests on his shoulders.

Black Widow looked at Shrowd with suspicion in her eyes. She had always been wary of him, and now he was bringing up the issue of the mutants' supposed resurrection.

"I don't know what to think about it," she replied cautiously. "It's certainly concerning that they would keep something like that from us. But at the same time, I'm not sure I trust your sources or your intentions in bringing this up."

Shrowd shrugged nonchalantly. "Believe what you will, but I assure you that my sources are reliable. And as for my intentions, well, let's just say that I have a vested interest in the truth."

Black Widow remained unconvinced, but she couldn't help feeling a sense of unease. If what Shrowd was saying was true, it could have serious implications for the mutants and their relationship with the rest of the world.

As she pondered this, Shrowd continued to speak. "You know, there's something else that's been bothering me. The mutants seem to think they're so different from the rest of us, but in reality, they're not that different at all. They have their own secrets and agendas, just like everyone else."

Black Widow narrowed her eyes. "And what is it that you're getting at?"

"I'm getting at the fact that we need to be careful around them," Shrowd said, his voice low and ominous. "They may claim to be on our side, but who knows what they're really up to? We need to keep a close eye on them, and make sure they don't pose a threat to us."

Black Widow didn't like the sound of that, but she couldn't deny that there was some truth to what Shrowd was saying. The mutants had always been something of an enigma, and it was hard to know what they were really thinking or planning.

Shroud simply says, "They are, just so you know." He then brings up the fact that their world was reset 10 times due to the mutant known as Maria, who was Xavier's backup plan. She had the ability to restart her life every time she died, effectively resetting the world as well. Black Widow is taken aback by this revelation and feels a sense of unease at the idea of a mutant having that much power over their world.

Shrowd could sense the unease in Black Widow's face and he decides to elaborate more on the topic. "It's not just your world, Black Widow. There are countless realities out there, and the mutants have interfered in all of them. Sometimes for the greater good, and other times for their own self-interests."

Black Widow's eyes widen in shock. "What do you mean?"

Shrowd leans in closer, his voice lowering to a whisper. "The X-Men have a long history of meddling with time and space. They have altered countless timelines and realities, erased people from existence, and manipulated events to suit their own needs."

Black Widow feels a chill run down her spine. "But why? Why would they do that?"

Shrowd leans back, his expression thoughtful. "Sometimes it's to prevent a catastrophic event, other times it's to save the life of someone they care about. But in the end, their actions have consequences. Consequences that ripple across the multiverse."

Black Widow takes a moment to process this new information. "So, what do we do now?"

Shrowd chuckles darkly. "We keep moving forward, Black Widow. And try to stay one step ahead of the X-Men and their meddling ways."

Shrowd would say, "Life is but a fleeting moment in the grand scheme of the multiverse. We are all just tiny specks in the infinite expanse of time and space. The choices we make may seem significant to us, but they are ultimately inconsequential in the grand design of the multiverse. So, enjoy the moment while it lasts, for in the end, it is all that truly matters."

Black Widow gives Shrowd a suspicious look before glancing over to the bookshelf he gestured towards. As she scans the titles, she can feel a sense of dread wash over her. The books seem to be dedicated to various dark deeds and unspeakable horrors committed by his kind.

Shrowd chuckles at her reaction before saying, "You humans always think you're so pure and righteous, but the truth is, you're just as capable of darkness as we are. Maybe even more so."

Black Widow bristles at his words, feeling insulted and defensive. "That's not true. We fight for justice and peace. We protect the innocent."

Shrowd raises an eyebrow. "And what about the times when you've failed? The times when you've let innocent people die? The times when you've been the cause of suffering?"

Black Widow doesn't have an answer to that. She knows there have been times when she's failed and made mistakes. But she also knows that she's done more good than harm in the long run.

Shrowd seems to read her thoughts and responds, "It's all a matter of perspective, isn't it? To us, your actions may seem just as monstrous as ours do to you. And in the end, it doesn't matter. We all end up in the same place, don't we?"

As Black Widow browses through the books dedicated to the crimes of the X-Men, she finds one that particularly catches her eye. It's titled "The Reign of the X-Men: A World Without Humanity." She flips through the pages and is horrified by what she sees.

The X-Men are shown as tyrants who have all the power, ruling with an iron fist and no restraint or control. They have exterminated humankind without mercy, and their treatment of life is brutal and inhumane. The book describes in vivid detail the atrocities they committed, the lives they took, and the suffering they caused.

Black Widow feels sick to her stomach as she reads on, unable to comprehend how the X-Men could be capable of such horrors. She wonders how they could have gone so far astray from their original mission and values.

Shrowd watches her silently, knowing that the book will have a profound effect on her. He knows that the X-Men's actions, both in that world and in their own, will have consequences that they cannot avoid.

Then he assures her that it only gets worse with resurrection in the picture...they would throw parties where they would murder each other, only for them to bring them back as if it's something to be worshiped...which they did on her world...

As Shrowd speaks, Black Widow feels a sense of disgust and horror at the idea of celebrating death in such a manner. She wonders how the mutants could justify such actions and how they could live with themselves after committing such atrocities.

Shrowd continues, "And now with this supposed resurrection, they have taken their madness to a whole new level. Bringing back the dead as if it's some kind of miracle, when in reality, it's just an abomination. How can they claim to be heroes when they play god with life and death?"

Black Widow is left with a sense of unease as Shrowd's words linger in her mind. She can't help but wonder if the mutants truly are the heroes they claim to be, or if they are simply playing a dangerous game with powers beyond their control.

As Shrowd turns to leave, Black Widow can feel a sense of unease creeping up on her. The information he just shared with her is disturbing, to say the least. She can't help but wonder if the X-Men truly are the heroes she once believed them to be.

As he walks away, she can't help but call out to him. "Wait, Shrowd," she says. "What do you mean by erasing the memory of the journalist? How did they do that?"

Shrowd tells Black Widow that it's not surprising at all that the mutants have done such things to her and other Avengers in alternate worlds. He reveals that in some of those worlds, they had brainwashed them, leaving them brain dead.

He goes on to say that it's a cruel and twisted game that the mutants play, using their powers to manipulate and control those around them. They act as though they are gods, with the power of life and death in their hands.

Shrowd tells Black Widow that the mutants' actions are not motivated by a desire to help others, but rather by their own selfish desires for power and control. He warns her to be careful around them, as their powers can be seductive and their intentions can be deceptive.

As he turns to leave, Shrowd tells Black Widow that the mutants are not to be trusted, and that she should always be on guard around them.

To be continued
