Luz looked at the horizon from the balcony. Multiple caravans were leaving the kingdom to return to their homes after the completion of the groom, but on the other hand, some nobles were still in the kingdom, exploring a bit of what Alvain could offer tourists. The kingdom's capital was famous for both its architecture and its vast immersion in the fine arts.
Luz watched with attention and curiosity as the noise gradually became more present with the ascension of the sun in the sky. The new princess was getting into her mind as the day began after the magical night of the groom.
-Hey Light! Let me in. A familiar voice knocked on her door. Luz hesitated for a moment to call the guards to dispatch those people. Despite recognizing her voice, she did not have much encouragement to see that person so early.
Luz, please let us in; we just want to talk. A second voice was heard along with the first, and the princess began to give in when she heard it. Captain! The second voice was heard again. Luz's will finally fell upon hearing her old title, and the door to her room partly opened to partially reveal the hallway.
Edric, Emira, and Luz whispered their names with a certain nostalgia, and the two at the door smiled when they saw her. "Please give me a moment to change." She opened the door, revealing more of her and pointed to her clothes. Edric looked away almost immediately, red-faced, as her sister tried to see into the room, catching for a moment the half-naked body of the prince and future king of Fulgore. Emira smiled, giving her friend a thumbs up, and moved away from her to give her the space to change.
Luz didn't understand why Amity's sister gave her a thumbs up until she heard behind her the yawns and little moans that her husband was making when stretching. Emira from the corridor could hear Luz's screams of embarrassment, and with a smile on her face, she imagined what kind of routines she should make her partner take to reach that state.
"How much has the girl grown in such a short time?" Emira sighed. "I am somewhat envious of the tremendous cut of meat that was served." She looked at her brother, who held her head in his hands, babbling incoherently with a red face. "A pity, don't you think so, brother? after helping himself to three items from the Blight menu and ending up with a cut of lean backwoods beef.
"Not bad girl," Emira commented with a dreamy look. "Come on, Edric, don't leave me hanging here; say something." She patted her brother on the back.
Edric let out a tired sigh. "I really don't know what to say, Emira, but I can't deny that I'm a little jealous, but not of Luz but of her husband," he finally said, sighing again.
Emira smiled at her brother's words. She knew the brunette's relationship history well; it wasn't very extensive, but Luz's choices were certainly very interesting. She thought about saying more, but the sound of the door caught their attention at that moment. The door creaked slightly when it opened, and in the portal, Luz was standing next to the man who had taken her from Hibralt's kingdom two years ago. Edric just looked at the couple in silence. He tried to say something, but the man's presence intimidated him greatly, reliving part of the trauma that had generated that day they met.
Hunter! Stop frowning; you scare our guests. Luz scolded the blond man, playing with his forehead to try to soften his gaze. The girl had not noticed the fear on Edric's face; she had kept herself on guard against what Emira could do, but she had ignored her friend's presence instead.
Sorry about that, Edric. Luz apologized to him. Hunter is a bad thing when it comes to socializing with new people. She tried to explain, but come on in and have a seat. Make yourself comfortable.
Luz offered the twins, and Emira wasted no time and jumped into bed without much thought, much to the annoyance of everyone in the room. Luz looked at her with annoyance and tried to remove her from the spot, but Emira just took her in her arms. "It's not to be nosy, Lu, but it seems to me that you two made the connection almost immediately," Emira murmured, playing with Luz's hair. "You know, not everyone gets married almost a day after meeting, and my mom says that love at first sight doesn't exist." She emphasized the latter with a short sigh.
Our mother only has eyes for Mittens; you and I are a little more than tools at this point. Edric huffed. Deep down, she still cares about us, but... the sigh. She puts many obstacles in our way and comments on everything we do.
I'm happy for you, Luz; you achieved what we will never really do: escape from Odalia. Both twins pointed to Luz. I don't know if this could be called luck or mere coincidence, but you look much better than before.
Luz raised an eyebrow in surprise and confusion at what they were saying. "How do I do it? she asked them.
"You smile more than before; your skin and eyes shine much more," Emira pointed out.
"The way you talk, the way you move, every aspect of your past as a soldier has been disappearing from your person; deep down, you are still the same person but more relaxed than before," Edric added, "and..."
Emira noticed something small moving between the sheets. "Who is this little creature?" She squealed with excitement, interrupting her brother before running to the side of the bed. Emira took a look at Luz, helping her understand what she wanted at that moment. Luz sighed and nodded her head.
The green-haired woman then took the little creature in her arms, a pair of hazel eyes fixed on Emira. She returned the boy's gaze, now playing with his brown mane while the boy frowned at the woman's touch. "What's your name, baby?" she asked Luz, and the infant stammered in response.
The brown-haired woman looked at Emira for a moment. His name is Camilo. Luz responded to her friend; her face turned into one of confusion, unlike her brother's, which was a face of surprise that lasted a few seconds before turning into a smile. Edric gave Luz a knowing look.
"The boy's name is in honor of your mother," the green-haired man asked Luz; she smiled and nodded. "Heh heh, your mother would probably have wanted to meet you, little one," Edric whispered to the little boy while he let him play with his finger. Camilo alone stammered and continued to wrestle with Edric's hand.
Edric and Emira focused their attention on the baby, forgetting for a moment what they had originally come for. They both needed to talk to Luz about her sister, but Luz's son was becoming relevant at that moment. On her side, the chestnut was no different from the twins; seeing old friends again was bringing back old memories. Little by little, she remembered old experiences and anecdotes that she had had with the two of them. Between smiles and glances, Luz did not miss the moment to help your husband become part of the conversation.
Edric didn't know at what point the intimidating man had become one of the most interesting people in the room. The fear he had felt at first had slowly dissipated with the help of Luz and Emira; the two of them had managed to soften Hunter's countenance. Edric was surprised by everything that came out of the blond's mouth; his entire conception of what the culture of the barbarians was had fallen apart in such a short time.
And this is how most objects of daily use in a camp are made, although really most of the barbarians are beginning to take root thanks to the founding of the new kingdom. Hunter told the twins that soon many of this knowledge will just be in the memories of the old and some old books.
"You can always make this knowledge a part of your culture; every kingdom has a history, and your people's was to be conquering nomads," Emirat emphasized. Convince your uncle to hold a parade or a celebration to honor his past.
Or he writes a book of stories; children love stories of adventures and epic journeys. Edric complemented what his sister had said.
I guess I can do that; I really wouldn't want to lose years of culture after becoming a kingdom. Hunter sighed, and Luz patted him on the back and smiled at him.
If you want, we can camp in the garden when the castle is ready, as the brunette suggested—just you and me with our little Camilo and hundreds of servants in the corridors.
Everyone laughed for a moment at the girl's comment, but the time to talk about sensitive issues was coming. - Guys... How has she been? ... You know, Mittens. His sister? Luz was stuck at times; the words weighed on her mouth as she tried to say them. The place was silent, and the atmosphere ended up darkening.
Who is Mitens? Hunter broke the silence, a little ignorant of the situation. Luz sighed and tried to answer, but Emira was ahead of her, interrupting her.
Mittens is what we call our younger sister; she is also the future queen of Hibralt. Emira explained with a bitter smile on her face, "She Ha! And I almost forgot: she is Luz's ex. Hunter looked a little surprised at his wife, and Luz just tried to hide her face between her hands.
- Amir! That last thing was unnecessary—Edric reproached her sister, but she just shrugged. Luz, for her part, had her face hidden in Hunter's chest while he only caressed her head with some affection.
"Don't worry, my little Lucecita, I'm not going to judge you for your past relationships," the blond assured Luz, but she only buried her face deeper into El-Edric Emira's chest so they could tell me more about Luz's past. - He asked her about the twins.
- Wait! I'll do it; just let them fill in the gaps in my story. Luz interrupted, going ahead of Emira and Edric. It's not chivalrous to inquire about a lady's past through someone else's mouth—she reproached her husband.
Luz sighed. Long before we met, Luz looked at the twins for a moment. I was in a relationship with this girl, Amity, or Mittens, as both her family called her affectionately; she was my ex and the princess of Hibralt.
"It wasn't that long, Luz; you were both doing your thing when Belos and his people arrived in the forests on the border, almost a week before you fought to the death with knives with this big guy," Emira emphasized, adding her part to the story.
Thank you, Emira—she thanked something sarcastic—but as she was saying, Amity was the princess, and I was a gentleman in charge of taking care of her.
And boy did you take care of Mittens; there wasn't a day that went by that you didn't leave his room with your hair in a mess. Emira commented again, and both the brunette and her brother growled in response: "It's okay, it's okay, I'll stop with it. spicy comments, shesh, and you can't tell a joke because everyone gets offended.
"Edric, is there something you want to add?" Luz asked the green-haired man, who shook his head. "Hunter, any comments or questions?"
"Just out of curiosity, how many people were with you before me?" Hunter asked. Luz became thoughtful for a moment, beginning to shuffle with her fingers.
"If I count the girls, they would be, heemmm... three girls and a boy," Luz answered, "although the boy's was somewhat drunk, it was also the time I was with a girl.
Was this your first time a threesome? Emira raised a surprised eyebrow. "Many people make a scandal about the first time and make it special; all those old conceptions of purity and nothing more, hmmm." Hey Hunter! The green-haired girl focused her attention on Luz's partner.
Yes, Miss Emira. Do you need anything?
"Were you with someone before Luz? the girl asked in advance, and the brunette gave Emira a hateful look, but she didn't stop smiling seeing how the blonde-haired woman's mouth began to tremble.
Hunter replied, letting out a sigh of misery. "It wasn't something pretty; he really was someone quite rude for the face he had.
Emira and Edric looked at each other, and an atmosphere of discomfort formed in the air. Sorry about that, Hunter. It's okay if you don't want to talk anymore and. Emira began to apologize.
Who was he? Give me a name, dear. Luz took the floor, interrupting her ex's sister-in-law, Hunter, to look into her eyes and give me a name. - The girl's tone was far removed from her classic, affable, and affectionate personality.
"Light doesn't really matter; it was years ago," he tried to dismiss it, but his wife had no intention of giving up on the subject.
It may be ancient history! but I still want to know who she was so I can hit her good when she sees it. Luz exclaimed, holding the boy's head in her hands and looking into his eyes: "I'm not upset; I just want to know who she was.
Lu is not fair; you know that look is cheating. Hunter wanted to reproach her, but she increased the intensity of her gaze against him until she finally sighed in defeat.
A couple of laughs interrupted Hunter, turning into laughter quickly. Emira was on the floor with her hands on her stomach, unable to stop laughing. Her brother had a red face in the same way that Amity did when she was upset with something, but he was not upset; on the contrary, he was embarrassing and babbling incoherently. Nothing Edric was saying seemed to make much sense, but Luz was able to catch and piece together some of her babbling into something logical and understandable.
A dry sound ended up silencing the environment. The green-haired man was sitting on the ground while a certain brunette was standing in front of him, her hand raised as a sign of threat and her eyes fixed on him. Edric, could you tell me more about this Willow Park? It seems that you know something that I don't.
Edric just stammered more unintelligible things. Luz sighed, preparing to slap him again, but she felt someone grab her hand. Emira was next to her, still laughing with a smile between her teeth. "He won't be able to do much in that state; give him a moment to assimilate all this while I explain a little about the Willow girl.
Luz nodded and lowered her hand. Luz nodded and lowered her hand. Well, tell me everything you know about her.
That Willow Park woman, or as you probably know her better by her nickname "The War Drum," Luz raised an eyebrow at the name, recalling a moment in the past, the sound of the forge and a cloud of steam hanging over the back of a mysterious gentleman. The girl's mind traveled for an instant to the battles that had been fought in a knight's tournament that had been held a couple of years ago.
"I can remember a little about her," Luz murmured. "He was that knight who fought with a pair of twin hammers; he ended most of his battles in just one hit or by withdrawing from his adversary, although I remember that he ended up losing against an old paladin." Fighting with the same weapon as her, it was a brutal match even by tournament standards. Emira smiled when she heard Luz's comment.
Now that you're remembering, that's good, Luz. Now you will wonder, "Where is she?" Emira smiled, and Luz raised an eyebrow, somewhat suspicious but impatient of what she was going to say. "And if I told you that she was here,
"Where!" She asked, her pupils contracting for a moment, thinking about what she would do if she managed to catch her, but Emira started to laugh, something that puzzled the brunette: "What happens now, Emira?
Emira stopped laughing and sighed. Unfortunately, she had already left for the kingdom that she serves this morning.
I can catch up with her! The chestnut exclaimed, jumping and trying to reach the door, but a pair of her arms held her back from running. "What are you doing? Let me go!" She tried to struggle with whoever she was holding on to without any success.
-Light! You can't go and challenge a gentleman; there are rules to follow before doing this. Her husband was holding her by the waist while she kicked to free herself from her grasp, to no avail. Her husband was gradually getting tired of this. Hunter yanked at her, bringing them both back to the couch.
Luz tried to escape again, but her husband decided to play the same game as hers, taking her by the head and touching her forehead while they whispered little things in the ear of the girl who was relaxing on the man's legs. The brunette had relaxed after a while, but she still kept her face buried in the blonde's chest.
"It's not fair, Hunter, because I can't defend your honor. I want to help you, but you won't let yourself," she protested, puffing out her cheeks. Her husband just sighed, exhausted by this.
Luz, you know very well that if you do it, it will have major repercussions for all of us, especially for Edric. Emira remarked that Willow is the gentleman in charge of taking care of Edric's wife, although she was here as Amity's escort. Emira called Luz's attention, taking her by the hand.
Tell me, Luz, are you ready to confront Amity? Emira asked, and Luz looked away from her. She knew well that she still did not have enough courage to talk to her ex. Luz, although she had truly loved Princess Amity, could no longer look into her eyes and tell her that she was happy; the fear and guilt of facing her greatly eroded her will, just thinking about how she would react.
Are you ready to confront Amity? Emira repeated the question, and Luz shook her head.
No, and she may never be; maybe she will die without being able to see his face and tell him the truth. Luz sighed, disappointed in herself. "I know I'm a coward for this, but... tell me, Emira, do you think Amity could ever forgive me for this?
Amity, my sister? She who is one of the most spiteful people I know from the nine major realms, hmm. I don't think so, Luz; it's best to let her think you're dead and use all the influence you can muster to prevent her from starting a war against Fulgore and her kingdoms allied with her. Edric intervened instead of her sister.
Luz looked at Emira in search of an affirmation or denial on her part. The green-haired woman could only shake her head but not deny what her brother had said: "I don't want to be the bearer of bad news or a pessimist, Luz, but my brother has reason; it's best to let her think you're still dead and..." Luz began to sweat and move on her site.
"Light, what did you do?" The girl looked away from Emira's question: "Luz, look into her eyes and tell me, what did you do?" I stress again her question to the girl.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll send him a letter and...
We are dead; Amity is going to march here with an army, and...
Nothing will happen. Edric Mittens may be the next in line to the throne, but mom is not going to humor him and start a war to fulfill a whim. Emira pointed to her brother, destroying the fears that he was beginning to feel.
But what if she tries something with fewer people? Edric tried to theorize with her sister. Amity is the most stubborn girl we know; she never gives up unless she has everything against her.
And she has it; no one would risk provoking the wrath of two monarchs just for a girl to reunite with her ex. Emira again pointed out the flaws in her brother's logic.
And so the two continued theorizing and disarming any possibility that there was until Edric ended up satisfied or without ideas.
Luz next to him only had one idea in her head: "I need to go to Consortia and kick that pig." Quick! The girl burst out, drawing everyone's attention. "I'm sorry guys, I got distracted, she apologized.
Not far from there, a caravan was heading back to the land of the walled kingdom that was Hibralt. The future regent fidgeted as she dreamed of her long-awaited reunion with her beloved knight.
The motionless body of the barbarian brute lay at the feet of the princess, his sword stained with blood dripping from its edge. Luz was in front of her with a smile, the same one she gave him every morning when she woke up at first dawn.
- Amity! Thank you for saving me from being her slave. She had been waiting for years that one day we could see each other again. The girl exclaimed ecstatically with her eyes full of tears.
That does not matter anymore. Luz, now that you are free again, please accompany me back to Hibralt; soon I will be the queen. Amity offered her hand to the girl.
The days passed until they became days and months. The brown-haired girl had been recovering her brightness, and her smile had become more radiant than before. Amity had put this off for so long, but today was the day she would do it.
The night of the liberation festival was taking place, and both girls watched the fireworks light up the night sky before meeting their gazes and smiling at each other.
"Light me. Amity tried to say something, but Luz put her finger on her lips and smiled at her with the same sweetness as always.
"Let me do it first," she asked with expectant eyes. Amity agreed, not being able to deny the girl's request. Luz sighed for a moment before speaking: "Princess Amity, it's been a long time since I was freed from my bonds. During all this time, I struggled with myself with my fears and traumas, but you were there for me.
Amity, you showed me that there is still goodness in this world. The princess felt her heart race under the words that Luz was saying to her, and the chestnut's face began to blush little by little. I thought a lot about how you supported me all this time and made me believe that maybe I can heal from my traumas and fight my fears and insecurities.
Maybe I can love and be loved again. Luz sighed with a certain voice that made Amity shudder; the princess felt that her moment was near.
Luz sighed one last time. So I decided to leave the kingdom and submit to a real man. Amity felt this like a slap, but before she could say anything else, the figure of that bastard appeared next to Luz, grabbing her by the waist and getting a little nervous giggle out of him.
"Fuck you, CuckBlight!" he exclaimed strongly. "In the end, the hero gets the girl!" Amity felt a huge rage at that moment, and she wanted to pounce on them, but everyone fell apart when they woke up.
It had all been a dream; she was in a caravan heading back to the land of the walled kingdom that was Hibralt. She had been dreaming of her long-awaited reunion with her beloved knight.
A shrill cry resounded throughout the place, being heard for miles around while everyone wondered the same thing: "Girl, who hurt you?
