Ch.3 Old lady heists.
Author's note: Sorry for short chapters I have a short attention span lol I'm going to try and do longer
Arthur walked giddily down the street, not believing his luck. He knew he wasn't capable of joining the emperor's coven, not a chance, he barely could even manage two spells.
But the mere thought of it made Hunter let him go!
He waved at a tall aging woman with a wild mane that looked like feathers, carrying a long piece of parchment blissfully unaware that she was holding a wanted poster of himself.
Arthur almost wanted to click his heels, and he tried, but instead of landing it he was grabbed by two long skinny arms and hoisted up over their shoulder.
"Edaaaa.. That was way too easy, he's like- what? Thirteen? when are you going to give me stuff more on my level-"
"Pipe down already, this is exactly the kind of stuff down our alley," The woman dubbed Eda began, grabbing Arthur by the face and pointing him at the girl, " I mean look at him- that delinquent haircut, ferocious am I right?"
A weird gremlin looking dog crawled up on the cheese stick proportioned girl, "Can I eat him Luz, Can I!"
Arthur's eyes went wide,"Um- I smell like fish I don't think-" He stuttered.
The bone dog's pupils got bigger. Shit. It liked fish, didn't it.
Luz smacked it's paws away from Arthur scolding him," No! You'll ruin your appetite, it's almost dinner time King!"
Eda seemed to be contemplative, her eyes not moving an inch from Arthurs, "Aw. Just let him go, we'll get some other creep warlock that's actually an evil baby in disguise or something. It's not worth it."
Arthur sighed in relief as Luz dropped him back to the earth. He was getting kind've tired of being manhandled.
He backed away ready to run as Luz looked at him with the same calculating look in her eye, "You aren't a student around here are you? I've never seen you before."
"Homeschooled."
Eda nodded, "That explains everything."
Arthur squinted, what was that supposed to mean?
She waved him off, "Alright kids, time to go it's getting dark. You should be going too, you know, especially with that bounty on your head.."
"Bounty?" Arthur asked tentatively.
Luz blinked, "You don't know? It's like- huge. What did you even do? It's almost as big as Eda's."
"But not quite," Eda said, fluffing up her hair, "Seriously though."
Arthur gained a sour look, "My grandpa said it was something about how my family teaches 'wild magic'. Whatever that means. It's not weird, it's just normal magic, practicing one magic forever is the weird one!"
Eda's eyebrows rose softly, sitting in a trance as if she was getting hit with so many flashbacks at once and trying to sort through them, "Yeah.. you got that right."
Arthur looked at her weirdly as she held her head and grabbed Luz's hand, "Well- See ya kid, remember to be light on your feet and leave no trace and all that….. Criminals code!"
And with that, they were off, flying on the ladys owl staff with King trying to claw at Arthur but being too far away to catch anything.
"I'll be back mere mortal! I shall dine upon your flesh, recharging to once more begin my reign of terror!"
Wow.
It sounded like a squeaky toy.
