It was a dark spring night In London and professor Layton was walking back to his office, but then he saw a young girl that he'd never seen before, she has looking left and then right, but then all of the sudden to the professor's shock, he saw the girl turn into a serpent like creature, she then saw the professor and gasped and she slithered as fast as she could and the professor went after her.

The serpent lead the professor into an abandoned alleyway and she panicked.

Vee: " Well I guess this is it."

Just then Hershal came around the corner and came face to face with vee.

Hershal: "You there!"

Vee: "I can go back, I just can't!"

The professor was so concerned that the creature was so frightened, he then walked towards the serpent like creature.

Hershal: "I didn't mean to startle you, I'm not here to hurt you."

Vee: " you're…not?"

Hershal: " I mean no harm to you, my name is professor Hershal Layton."

Vee: So you're the professor everyone's been talking about."

Hershal: "Indeed, and you are?"

Vee: "I'm vee well, my real name is number five and I'm a basilisk. You see I'm from another world and in that world my kind went extinct long ago, me and my other fellow basilisks were imprisoned, the ones who imprisoned us want to know how we drained magic all we know is how to feed. Some of us escaped imprisonment from the ones who imprisoned us, and I then escaped to your world, and shapeshifted into a human to blend in with the humans, you see we basilisks have the ability to shapeshift."

The professor felt heat broken that vee and her kind had to go through the imprisonment, and the suffering she and her kind went through.

Hershal: "I have heard about your kind,I'm so sorry that you and your kind had to go through that."

Vee: "that's okay, I now have no place to live and I never know what it's like to have a family."

The professor thought about it for a moment.

Hershal: "Vee why won't you come stay with me until you can find a place to stay."

Vee: "You really think so Hershal?"

The professor then nodded.

Hershal: (held out his hand) "Come vee, let's head to my office."

Vee the took the professor's hand and shapeshifted into her human form, she and the professor then walked to the location of the professor's office.when they arrived the professor unlocked his door and he and vee went inside, then vee turned into her basilisk form.

Vee: " So this is your office."

Hershal: "Yes indeed vee, you can stay here until you can find a place to stay."

One hour passed and vee was fast asleep on the professor's sofa, and Hershal, was sitting at his desk thinking about what to do with vee, he was thinking about adopting her and letting her stay with him. Since Vee has no place to call home or a family that might think of her as a monster, he decided to Adopt her and he'll have to wait to announce it to her.

Three days later vee awoke seeing to professor was no where to be seen in his office, then the door opened and it was the professor.

Hershal: "I have some good news for you vee."

Vee: " Are you saying what think you're saying? You're going to help me find a family that so willing to adopt and accept me?

Hershal:" I already have."

Vee:" Really?! Who is it?"

Hershal: "that would be me."

Vee: " Oh my gosh!" (Slithers to the professor and hugs him)

This is the best day ever! (Let goes of the professor) so much better that the other day when we first met."

Hershal: "You have a place here for as long as you need vee.

Vee: "Thank you Hershal, for everything."

Hershal: " You're quite welcome."

Vee felt happy that she now has a familiar that would take care of her, the professor would then teach the young basilisk how to solve puzzles and she now has a father that would look after and protect her.
