Saturday at 9:00 am at the hospital in Hank's room
"Jade you do know that I DO NOT want to be here right, he nearly ripped my hair out trying to keep me away from you Cat, I am TERRIFIED to DEATH of him" says Tori staying as far away from Hank's hospital bed as possible
"believe me Tori I didn't want to bring you hear either but Cat's terrified about spooking Robbie, she wanted to try this first before trying what my mom suggested, you don't have to go near him and your dad cuffed him to the bed last night, apparently Amy showed up and gave him an earful, likely of blood" says Jade
"I'm not talking to him Jade, talking to an insane person is itself insane" says Tori
"says the girl that is risking me GOING TO JAIL for insisting I date her regardless of what she says going forward, TORI that is called abuse, I'd rather kill myself than leave you alone while I sit in jail for breaking the law" says Jade looking Tori in the eyes as Tori seemingly comes to her senses, at least temporarily
"Fine but he can't look at me, I have nightmares of that face and you have to kiss me, I'd rather not look stupid by fainting again" says Tori hugging Jade and looking in Cat's direction
"Hank you have a small frame of time to admit your mistake" says Cat glaring at her brother, still very VERY angry at him
"you'll tell Amy right" asks Hank being very vulnerable
"that depends on how much truth you tell, now get going, the clock is ticking" says Cat
"look Tori you know what love feels like, I had that with Amy ten years ago when her and I were in therapy with Doctor West, we were in love, her parents didn't believe she was actually unstable and pulled her from therapy DAYS before Doctor West had come up with medication that could bring her back to reality, her parents took her from me, yes what I did to you is unforgivable but jealousy and envy got the better of me, I walked in wanting to talk to you but when I saw where your hand was I lost it, Cat told me she'd never let anyone let her touch her there while she was living at home, logic didn't mean anything to me in that moment, all I could think about was keeping Cat innocent, I'm sorry, I don't deserve your forgiveness" says Hank as Tori sort of flickers to life
"why talk to me at all, you're easily ten years older than me and twice my size" asks Tori walking right up to Hank to look him in the eyes as Cat and Jade look at one another shocked
"your dad, I'd heard rumors that he's been talking to Amy, my dad wouldn't tell me anything, he wouldn't even acknowledge Amy existed, I was out of line but I thought maybe your dad had been more open to you, I'd figured that maybe that if my dad didn't trust me that your dad wouldn't answer my questions either, I was desperate for answers, like I said I don't deserve your forgiveness nor Amy's affection" says Hank as Tori faints
"oh God I'm never getting to see Amy again am I" asks Hank worried he didn't tell Tori enough truth
"my mom said this might happen but that it's only part of the process for her to move on, though I didn't think Tori will ever feel safe around you though you will have to tell your parents it's ok for Tori to work with Cat again, that you made a mistake and that Tori isn't a threat" says Jade
"honestly Cat's the only one in that house that believes me, even when my medication is working as its supposed to, mom just laughs and dad just ignores me, paranoia isn't who I am all the time, just a part of me, a part of me I wish I could remove so people would believe me when I said Amy was being abused, ten years, it took ten years for someone to realize I was right and to charge her family with abuse and neglect" says Hank
"to be fair I did tell dad but until he found the right Amy he couldn't verify your claims, don't hate dad for not being perfect, we got our issues from mom and she doesn't like either of us" says Cat
"how long is she going to be unconscious for" asks Hank worried David will charge him with more than just assault
"I don't know exactly, last night it took her ten minutes to recover, she spent the rest of the night cuddling me, her hands were cold" says Jade as she feels Tori's breathing rate change
"you said you had something to talk to me about" asks Cat
"you complimenting Tori on the way here, it makes me sad, not to mention it's not helping Tori move on" says Jade
"look I just wanted her to know i still care, that I don't hate her, even though she's 'popular' at school nobody cares about her mental health except for me, they'd rather kiss her or try and sleep with her than care about her mental health, the ones that don't fantasize about her being their girlfriend want to use her amazing singing voice to help their grades, if she desires to be with you I'll back off" says Cat
"that's not what I meant, you can complement her just don't get too flirty, at least until she's better, her getting confused isn't a good idea" says Jade
"is this based on your moms expert advice" asks Hank
"yes, my mom feels that because of how you lost control Tori doesn't have closure and still believes that she's dating Cat and therefore can't process her current emotions, it's like getting stuck in a time loop while still somehow meeting new people and living new scenarios" says Jade
"what if she really does want to be with Cat in the end, what would you do" asks Hank
"I'd be depressed but I'd respect it because my mom would double and triple check and make sure that it was really what Tori wanted also you prematurely ended their relationship, as I see it if she wanted to, she has a right to see how the relationship might have been without you interfering" says Jade
"but Robbie sent me this beautiful note this morning, I want to give him a try" says Cat sad because she thinks she knows where Tori's emotions truly are
"you're putting too much thought into how she might decide Cat, you know for a fact she's afraid of me, chances are if it's not Jade it's someone else, maybe Andre or even Beck, if you should learn anything from my paranoia filled mistakes is that you should never assume her intentions or choices" says Hank
"so you think she really has moved on" asks Cat
"I have no idea, I just know that you need to trust her and that you can tell her no, until a decision is made about Amy, I don't trust myself not to misunderstand things, even between you and Robbie, Amy settles my nerves better than any meds but her situation takes priority, I know you're anxious Cat but you have to trust that Jade is following her moms advice, if that means one final date with Tori then that's what you have to do" says Hank
"you trust her advice" asks Cat
"yes, it's been the doctors since that have messed things up, they thought they knew better and changed my medication class and diagnosis, they had decided I'm not actually paranoid and it doesn't actually take over me, all because I had a cold a few years ago, as long as Jade's following her mom's therapist advise she's doing what's right" says Hank as Jade picks up Tori and Cat follows them out
"I hope you're right" says Cat
2 hours later at Jet Brew for the 'date'
"so you don't love me anymore" asks Tori
"it's hard to explain Tori but Robbie followed Jade's advice and tattled on Sinjin and he sent me a really cute note this morning, yes I still have feelings for you but I've moved on, I can tell by the look in your eyes that you have too, maybe sometime in the future we can be together but only if Robbie and Jade don't work out for us, we have to give them a chance Tori, you have to give all your options a try you know, look at Jade and tell me you don't love her" says Cat
"I can't do that because I do like her" says Tori, Cat's speech having started the process of healing
"thanks for helping her Cat, I know this was hard for you to do" says Jade thankful that Tori seems to be better, just as her mom said she would be
"I wasn't just doing this for Tori, you deserve to feel loved too Jade and if your true love is Tori then you deserve a chance to find out just as Tori does just like I deserve to try and see if Robbie is my forever boy, everyone has a right to be happy" says Cat as Tori closes her eyes and leans onto Jade accidentally as she falls asleep
"I swear she falls asleep on me a lot, I don't understand, maybe my mom should do a therapy session with her" says Jade
"and who's going to pay for it Jade, her job is a twice a week job, she made her room into a music recording studio, renting music stuff she can't afford and her dad can't afford it either as he has to send money to Trina every month just so she can survive wherever she was transferred to, Tori can't afford therapy Jade" says Cat
"does her job at least pay minimum wage" asks Jade
"you're joking right, she's a bilingual Latina, her employer gives her as few hours as possible so no she doesn't even make minimum wage, Andre does though and they work at the same mall" says Cat
"is there anything her dad could do" asks Jade
"if the police get involved in wage disputes her job is as good as gone meaning the people she's renting the music equipment from will make her return them, even with a job they've threatened to take the equipment from her several times just in the last two months, if she's tired it's because she's been trying to use them as much as possible while she still can, sleep debt is not something you mess with and Tori has been messing with it a lot lately" says Cat
"if you had to guess, how many hours of sleep has Tori been getting" asks Jade seriously concerned about Tori's health
"I wouldn't put it at more than six a night, probably a lot less than even that" says Cat
"she slept pretty soundly last night, I'd say more than eight" says Jade
"that doesn't erase the dozens upon dozens of hours she's racked up in sleep debt Jade, it's going to take a while for her to catch up, it doesn't help that her bed is very firm and she prefers a softer bed, unfortunately her softer bed broke just after her and I were forcibly separated and her dream bed is like seven grand, she only had a few hundred dollars saved that could be used for 'extravagant' purchases like a new bed, so not only could she not get a soft bed, she had to get a used one so she likes to avoid sleeping in it as much as possible, now I don't know if your bed is soft or not but she'd likely spend time in your house than her own, she's expecting the people to take her rented music equipment any time and she's too scared to talk to them about some sort of payment plan" says Cat
"what's the name of the company, maybe I can talk to them" asks Jade
"I think it's American music suppliers, they're like the best of the best when it comes to music making supplies, it's what our music teacher uses, honestly Tori's pretty good at making music, at least with Andre's help with the last few steps" says Cat
"do you think I should talk to them or would that cross a line" asks Jade
"I mean music is Tori's passion, she was hoping that a music label would interview her, that's why she rented the equipment, she wanted some songs ready, unfortunately nobody has even noticed her, Andre has been interviewed by labels a few times though" says Cat
"what if I offered to buy the equipment off them so Tori didn't have to pay to rent them, would that be bad or good" asks Jade
"they're a rental company, they don't sell the equipment to anyone but record companies, trust me I already tried to offer Tori the money to buy them, it won't work" says Cat
"ok would you like to come to my house with her for a movie" asks Jade
"just drop me off at my house, I have homework to do that's due Monday" says Cat
"oh ok" says Jade as they get up to leave and she picks up Tori
At Jades house later that day
"how'd it go" asks Julia
"good I think, Cat wanted to have Hank explain himself first because she was uncomfortable with the whole 'final date' idea, though it did have the effect you thought the date would, though I'm worried about Tori, Cat says she has dozens of hours of sleep debt" says Jade
"oh that's not good, get her to bed now" says Julia
"why, why isn't it good, I know sleep debt isn't great but you don't sound confident that Tori will be ok" says Jade
"sleep debt along with recovery from emotional vacuum disorder means she'll likely make mistakes, she might kiss someone she doesn't have feelings for, emotional confusion is a major problem during recovery, if I were her doctor I'd recommend that she stay away from school until she recovers" says Julia
"mom….. Was this a bad idea, making it clear to Tori how I felt" asks Jade
"no but you can't hold her mistakes against her, it's going to hurt you but it's going to hurt her even more when she realizes what she's done" says Julia
"you're talking as if she's going to make someone cheat" says Jade
"emotional confusion doesn't take relationships into account, that's part of the problem Jade" says Julia pointing to the stairs as Jade heads upstairs carrying Tori
20 minutes later
"my mom can't seriously believe that Tori would make someone cheat on their person, that's not who she is" says Jade nuzzling Tori awake by accident
"hey Jade, I love you" says Tori as she nuzzle Jade right back
"I'm not doubting you but I have to know if you really mean that because I've been dreaming of this day for a year" says Jade
"of course I mean it, why do you seem nervous" says Tori
"because besides family nobody's ever said that to me and actually meant it" says Jade
"well I mean it, I love you, you saved me from my pain, nobody was willing to try, not even Cat" says Tori
"I didn't know what to do until my mom told me about emotional vacuum disorder" says Jade
"my dad has been talking about that for months, nobody cared, they didn't see the problem, they thought it was a good thing because 'she's going to save herself for marriage' as if anyone in Los Angeles saves themselves for marriage, if it's with the person you see yourself marrying why does it matter, my dad certainly didn't, sure maybe he could have married someone better than my mom but then I wouldn't exist so it's a double edged sword" says Tori
"do you have feelings for anyone else" asks Jade hiding her intent
"if you're talking about boys no, I haven't really trusted them since Ryder used me for a good grade, he made me think he liked me but he only wanted to use me because I'm one of the top singers at Hollywood arts" says Tori
"wait one of, I heard you were the best singer at school" says Jade confused
"no Cat's definitely up there, most people disregard her talent because her mental health 'disabilities' make her seem dumb, if people took her seriously she'd be the top singer at school, before I got here Cat was second only to Andre, Cat absolutely deserves first place" says Tori
"where do you see us in five years" asks Jade as Tori shivers
"I don't like thinking about the future" says Tori unwilling to imagine anything that might happen in the future
"why, I was just curious" asks Jade
"because when I was little, besides thinking I'd live in a sugar castle with a prince, I thought Trina and I would open a music store together, now she doesn't want anything to do with me and now she's chasing European girls or boys or whatever, she's stopped caring about what I thought our potential was, I've learned to only care about the present, I don't care if it looks self-centered, I refuse to imagine what my future holds because currently I feel like I should be in a mental hospital because while I can understand how I feel now, suddenly I can feel everything, it's like everyone has the potential to make me grow feelings for them and it scares me, it makes me feel stupid and weak and possibly insane" says Tori
"my mom said that would happen because of your sleep debt, that you're susceptible to how others treat you while you recover and that sleep should be a top priority" says Jade
"I'm going to lose my music making equipment next week and I don't want to be at my house alone and I don't want to be there when they take it, they did tell me that I get to keep the music I made with the equipment but that I'll never be allowed to rent from them again" says Tori
"I'll stay by your side for as long as you want me to be, as your girlfriend or not, it doesn't matter to me right now, you getting better is all that matters right now" says Jade
"protect me from them please, I'm scared" says Tori cuddling Jade
"I can only protect you at school in the classes we have together, would you like my mom to talk to you tomorrow so you can understand what you're going through" says Jade
"how much is it going to cost, I don't have health insurance at my job and I was just kicked off my dads work insurance for 'non-use', you know you continue to surprise me, you don't act at all like I'd expect based on how you look" says Tori
"I used to act the way I look, then my dad got arrested and convicted on charges of murder, a thing he never did, I changed after that, unfortunately during that investigation the police froze any bank account with his name on it, that included mine so I haven't been able to afford to change my looks to reflect who I am now, stuff is expensive" says Jade
"but my dad said you got your debit card back" asks Tori confused
"I only got it back yesterday and only because my mom brought up the fact that your dad and his colleagues had frozen my account during the investigation into my dad, I finally got to fill my car up to full for the first time in forever, I paid for all the food we ate at Jet Brew and I was hoping for a day at the beach tomorrow but if you want to talk to my mom first that's ok, we don't have to go to the beach, my mom doesn't charge for consulting someone on their diagnosis" says Jade
"but she hasn't diagnosed me, not officially" says Tori
"technically she has, while she doesn't have access to your medical file, she was there today at the hospital consulting with a therapist at the hospital in the psych ward, your dad was also there, mainly to give permission to access your medical records, they eventually came to an agreement on the emotional vacuum diagnosis and it is now in your file and can be used as evidence of trauma if it's deemed that Cat's brother is to be charged, though you do have the final call on that, now let's get some rest, how's my bed, soft enough" says Jade
"I'd rather not charge her brother, Cat nearly twisting him into a pretzel is enough revenge for me, yes your bed is soft, must be expensive, not even my old bed was this soft" says Tori turning to use Jade as a pillow
"I mean almost everything in this house is expensive, my dad had a saying 'while under my roof you will be spoiled but don't expect to be spoiled by others', honestly it's a good saying, I've come to live by it, especially after he was wrongly convicted" says Jade
"my dad said he's being released or getting a new trial or something" says Tori
"that's the first I've heard of it, my dad's stubborn, if he is getting a new trial I don't see him wanting one unless he knows the truth will be presented this time and what little I do know I know that he's doubtful about the truth being told and that people will see it as truth, anyway enough talk, let's snuggle and sleep" says Jade
"ok" says Tori
