Gandalf, Frodo, Sam, and Lucy walk through Hobbiton as soon as the sun came up. They got to the woods as Gandalf turn around to look at the three, "This is the way to get to Bree, be safe you three for there are enemy spies, birds, and beast. You got to remember, the ring is wanting to be found, stay off the road," he says. Frodo nods, and Lucy gets nervous. Frodo holds her hand, "Everything is going to be alright," he says. She looks down at her hands and she turns away, "I just wish I could have my dagger," she says. Sam looks at Frodo and Lucy as Gandalf rode through the woods with his horse. Frodo, Sam and Lucy started walking through Hobbiton.
They got to the corn field, and Sam stop near the wheat field, "If I go anywhere out of this border, this will be the farthest I been to away from home," he says. Frodo look at Sam and Lucy came up to Sam, "Don't worry, it was hard for me when me and my siblings had to go to a different city far away from home. Everything will be okay Sam, all you have to do is keep your head up," she says. Sam nods and Frodo smiles, "Don't you worry Sam, Gandalf knows what he is doing, everything will be over when we meet Gandalf at the prancing pony at the Village of Bree," Frodo says as he wraps his arms around Sam. They started walking through the wheat field and got to the farm.
As soon as they got to the farm, Sam was looking down to the ground and then he looked up and Lucy and Frodo weren't there. They disappeared out of his sight, "Master Frodo, Lucy, where did you guys go," he called. Lucy and Frodo ran towards Sam, "Is everything okay Sam," Lucy asked. Sam sighed, "I thought I lost you guys, I was just thinking, " he says. Frodo got confused, "What are you thinking about," he asked. Sam looks at Frodo and Lucy, "About what Gandalf said, don't you lose them Samwise Gamgee, and I attend not to," he says. Frodo laughs, "What are you talking about, there isn't danger around here, what could possibly go wrong," Frodo asked.
As Frodo asked Sam, Peregrin Took and Meridoc Brandybuck bump into Sam and Frodo. Lucy looks down, and got confused, "What kind of danger, like that you know," she says. Peregrin look at Frodo, "Merry, it's Frodo Baggins," he says as Merry got off of Sam. Merry look at Frodo, "Hello Frodo," Merry said. Sam shove Peregrin out of the way, "Get off him Pippin," he says. Lucy looks at Frodo, "Are these friends of yours," she asked.
Pippin looks at Lucy, "Oh we saw you at the party, we didn't know what a woman is doing in Hobbiton, my name is Peregrin Took, everyone calls me Pippin, and this Meridoc Brandybuck, everyone calls him Merry, we are friends of Frodo and Sam," Pippin says. Lucy bows at them, "My name is Lucy Pevensie I am not from your world," she says. Sam looks at Merry and Pippin, "She is from a land called Narnia, and she is a Queen so you both should respect her," Sam says. Pippin and Merry gasped and they bowed down to her. She laughs nervously, "No need for courtesy please, just call me Lucy and everything will be fine," she says. Pippin and Merry nodded and they brushed off the leaves off of them. Sam looks down and notices food, "You got into Farmer Maggots crop haven't you guys," he asked. Pippin laughed, "It wasn't a lot, we call this foraging," he says. Sam rolled his eyes and then they heard a scream from Farmer Maggot. Merry gasped, "Come on," he says as he grabbed Lucy's hand. Frodo notices and he got jealous a little bit," hey wait for me," he says. They all ran through the corn field, and they got to the edge of a hill. They stopped as they were trapped and behind them Sam ram into them making everyone fall through the hill onto the wood path.
Pippin sighed, "Ooh that was close," he says. Sam groaned, "Never trust a Brandybuck or a Took for that matter," he says. Merry sighed, "Hey, that was a detour, a short cut," he says. Lucy groaned, "For you little people, you guys are the heaviest," she says. They all got up and Pippin got excited, "Mushrooms," he says. Everyone got excited except for Lucy and Frodo. Lucy looks down at the path, "This is a road, I don't think we should be on the road," she says. Frodo look out at the distance and all of a sudden there was a screech in the distance, "Get off the road, quick," he yelled. Everyone got off the road and hit behind the tree.
All of a sudden, heavy footsteps were nearby them. Everyone stayed quiet, and Lucy tried to be quiet. Frodo look behind him through the stump hole and he sees hooves. They all hear heavy breathing and all of a sudden, feet went down to the ground. Sam gasped and there were fingers near the tree. A black cloak figure appeared above them sniffing around the area. Frodo pulled out the ring and it got heavy. He was about to put it on until Lucy pulled his arm away from him. Sam grabbed something and he threw it out in the distance trying to get the black rider to get away from them. Everyone made the run for it.
Farther deep into the woods, everyone slipped on the leaves. Merry panted, "That black rider is looking for someone, or something. Frodo any ideas," he asked. Frodo look down at his ring, and Merry got shocked. Lucy looks around, "The black rider is coming back, get down," she says. Everyone got down and Frodo look at Merry, "Sam and Lucy and I need to get to Bree," Frodo says. Merry nodded, "Buckle berry Ferry, follow me," he says.
Everyone followed Merry and Pippin through the woods and try to avoid getting caught until the black rider found them. They all screamed, and Lucy tries to protect the Hobbits, "We need to run, let's go," she yelled as they all started to run. The black rider was getting closer and more black riders came to chase after Frodo for they knew that one of them have the ring. Merry Pippin and Sam got to the Ferry.
Sam tried to get the rope as soon as Lucy got on and then they notice that Frodo was still behind. He kept running as fast as he can and then he jumped to the Ferry. Everyone sighed in relief that they got to safety. They all watch the black riders screeched and they made the run for it. Lucy panted, "Hopefully they can stop chasing us," she says. Everyone nodded as they row the ferry down to the next crossing.
