My name is Eren Jaeger.
I'll have your ear only a while.
I left my dear home in Liberio. It was death, starvation or paradise.
When I got to Vespuccia it was my duty to go, enter the army and slog across Lacustria to join in the war against Cuauhtlan.
It was there in the towns and the hillsides that I saw the mistake I had made.
Part of an oppressing army, with the morals of a rusty bird cage.
So in the midst of these afraid, dying moon worshippers, screaming children and the burning stench of it all.
Myself, and two hundred Eldians decided to rise to the call.
From the heart of Marley to these strange lands, we witnessed freedom denied.
So we formed the Saint Ymir's Battalion, and we fought on the Cuauhtlan side.
We marched 'neath the golden star of Eldia, emblazoned with 'Wir von Ymir'.
Strong with the wings and the Titan and 'Tlanemacayotl nik toTlalpan'
Just 70 years after Fritz Tone, 8000 miles away.
The Marleyans called us a legion of devils, and they can talk as they may.
But from the heart of Marley to these strange lands, we witnessed freedom denied.
So we formed the Saint Ymir's Battalion, and we fought on the Cuauhtlan side.
We fought them in the northeastern shrines, while their volunteers were raping the nuns.
In the mountain of kings and the mountain range, we fought on as Eldia's sons.
We were the brown and blonde haired fighters for freedom, amidst these copper-skinned women and men.
Side by side we fought against tyranny, and I daresay we'd do it again.
We fought them in twelve major battles.
Thirteen heavens was the last one.
Overwhelmed by the cannons from Odiha, we fell after each mortar blast.
Most of us died on that hillside, in the service of the Cuauhtlan nation.
So far from our enslaved homeland.
We were heroes and victims of fate.
From the heart of Marley to these strange lands, we witnessed freedom denied.
So we formed the Saint Ymir's Battalion, and we fought on the Cuauhtlan side.
Lazy ass adaptation of a tribute song to St. Patrick's Battalion in the American war on Mexico.
Nevertheless, I find it cool to imagine how a mainland-born Eren would hold up in the comically underdeveloped world of Attack on Titan that doesn't focus on Marley-Paradis but in Marley's expansionism and colonialism, in purpose acting exactly the same way as the old Eldian Empire.
Also a distraction from my other fics. The one involving Sasha and Floch actually has a plot that I'm going to develop.
