6 Incredible Heroes Times 2
Note: This chapter will be interesting as we see Hiro meet Violet's other friends at school and talk to kids his own age.
Larry's Rival
It was in the afternoon at West View High as Violet waited outside for her ride home and watched several other kids leave with their parents.
She started to grow impatient as she said, "Come on dad. What's taking so long?"
Just then, Kari and Lila came to her as Lila said, "Hey Violet."
Violet looked at them and smiled as she said, "Oh hi Lila, Kari."
Kari had a friendly smile as she said, "I thought you left already."
Violet looked around as she said, "Apparently my dad's running late today. I just hope he comes before Larry shows up."
Lila smiled as she said, "Don't worry. He too busy pouting. He lost to that guy on his game again."
Violet was relieved when Kari pulled out a bag of candy and said, "Hey, look at this candy I got from the vending machine."
Violet looked at the bag and said, "What are they?"
Kari smiled as she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know. It's Japanese candy so I can't read it. But it looks good so I think it's worth a try, you know the Japanese make some of the best stuff in the world."
She and the girls continued talking while Wasabi pulled up and parked his car in front of the school while Fred rode around them in his limo, driven by Heathcliff. Baymax was in the way back while Hiro sat in the backseat with Honey Lemon and Dash, who they had already picked up.
Hiro glanced out the window before looking at Dash as he asked, "Is this the place?"
Dash smiled and nodded as he said, "Uh huh."
Hiro then looked around until he saw Violet with Kari and Lila and he smiled and said, "Oh there she is. I'll go get her. Come on Baymax."
Hiro got out of the car and Baymax tried to get out but got stuck, so Hiro pulled on him while Dash pushed until he got out.
Hiro then turned and walked over toward Violet while Baymax followed him as Hiro called out, "Hey Violet!"
The girls turned to see Hiro approaching as Kari asked, "Who's that?"
Lila smiled as she said, "I don't know but he's cute."
Violet was surprised as she said, "Hiro?"
Hiro and Baymax walked up to them as Hiro smiled and Baymax said, "Hello Violet."
Violet showed a small smile as she looked at Hiro and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Hiro smiled as he answered, "Your dad asked me and the guys to pick you up and Dash up from school."
Violet was surprised as she said, "Really? Wow."
Kari and Lila were both confused as they stared at them as Lila said, "Uh…"
Violet smiled as she held her hand toward Hiro and said, "Sorry. Kari, Lila, this is Hiro."
Hiro smiled as he raised his hand and said, "Hey."
They both smiled as they waved back and said, "Hi."
They both looked up at Baymax with confused expressions as he looked down at them, Hiro and Violet understood their confusion but said nothing. Just then they were all joined by Tony and his two friends, who all stared up at Baymax in curiosity.
One of Tony's friends spoke up and said, "Is that a balloon man?"
Baymax waved his hand in a circular motion as he said, "Hello. I am Baymax. I am a personal healthcare companion."
They all looked at Hiro as he smiled and explained, "He's a robot nurse. My brother Tadashi designed him but I made a few modifications."
They looked back at Baymax as Tony's other friend said, "Cool."
Hiro then smiled as he held his right hand out toward Tony and said, "Hi. I'm Hiro Hamada."
Tony shook his hand with a friendly smile as he said, "Tony Rydinger."
Hiro then noticed the bag of candy Kari was holding and pointed at it as he said, "Mandarin Malafars. Those are good."
Kari was confused as she looked at the bag and looked at Hiro, impressed, while she said, "What? You read Japanese."
Hiro smiled proudly as he said, "They teach it back home. It's an elective."
Violet smiled as she pointed her thumb at him and said, "Hiro lives in San Fransokyo."
The others were surprised and then Hiro pointed at the bag again as he said, "Yeah, they sell those back home too. They're really good. Try one."
Kari then opened the bag and tried one piece of candy and smiled as she said, "Wow! He's right! These are great! Try some!"
She held the bag out and Tony, his friends, Lila, and Violet all tried one and they all liked it as they smiled at the taste.
Lila smiled as she pointed at Hiro and said, "These are great! Wait, so you're from San Fransokyo? Have you ever seen Big Hero 6 in person?"
Hiro smiled as he nodded and said, "Uh yeah. They're awesome. I've seen them fight villains several times."
One of Tony's friends smiled as he said, "Can you believe they're here in Metroville?"
Hiro glanced at Violet and smiled innocently as he said, "I know! What are the odds?"
Kari had a dreamy smile as she stared into space and said, "I love Captain Hero. I wish he was here right now."
Hiro looked at her awkwardly as he said, "Okay."
Tony then looked at Hiro as he curiously said, "Hey Hiro, what are you doing here in Metroville?"
Hiro smiled as he explained, "Oh my friends and I are in town representing the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology in the Baxcorp Technology Expo."
The five teens stared at him in amazement as Tony said, "You're in college?"
Hiro smiled as he nodded and proudly said, "Yep. This is my second year at SFIT. I graduated high school when I was 13."
They were all impressed as Kari said, "Wow. You must be really smart."
Hiro smugly nodded when suddenly Larry's voice sounded as he pushed Kari and one of Tony's friends aside while saying, "Probably not as smart as me though. Step aside, let me see what the fuss is about. Hey Violet."
Violet looked at him uncomfortably as she said, "Hi Larry."
Larry then noticed Hiro and his eyes widened as he recognized him, pointed at him and said, "YOU!"
Hiro was startled as he stared at Larry and said, "You?"
Larry glared at Hiro as he angrily said, "You're that guy who spilled my drink yesterday! What are you doing here?!"
Hiro held his left hand toward Violet as he said, "My friends and I came to bring Violet home."
Violet was shocked as she looked at Hiro and said, "You know Larry?"
Hiro looked at her as he honestly said, "Sort of. I bumped into at the expo yesterday and it didn't go well."
Violet kept looking at Hiro as she said, "Yeah that makes sense. Last week he kept bragging about going to his dad's expo."
Hiro nodded as he said, "Yeah, I got nervous when I learned Jordan Baxter was his dad."
Larry grew slightly suspicious as he pointed at the two of them and said, "You two know each other?"
Hiro smiled and nodded while Violet explained, "Yeah. I met him last Spring when my family and I took our vacation to San Fransokyo. We met Hiro and his friends and they showed us around town."
He then glared at Hiro as he said, "Really."
Hiro smiled awkwardly as he said, "Yeah. Small world."
Larry kept glaring at Hiro as he bitterly said, "As if my day couldn't get any worse. I just lost on Mind Smith II Turbo and now I have to deal with you again."
Hiro smiled as he pointed his finger and cockily said, "I love that game! Not to brag but I always win at it. I played it just before I came here and beat some noob."
Larry grew angrier as he said, "Wait! You're Big Hiro?!"
Hiro then realized what was happening as he nervously said, "You're Rich Genius?"
Everyone else was shocked as one of Tony's friends pointed at Hiro and said, "You're the guy who's been beating Larry at his own game?"
Hiro smiled awkwardly as he said, "Apparently."
Larry grew increasingly angry as Tony's other friend happily said, "Dude! You're awesome!"
Hiro was flattered a bit as he said, "Uh… Thanks."
The others started praising Hiro while Larry grew angrier until Dash came up and impatiently said, "Vi, Hiro, come on already!"
Wasabi, Go Go, and Honey Lemon walked up to them as Go Go said, "The kid's right genius. Let's go, we've got work to do."
Fred's limo was parked in the street as he stood up in the sun roof and happily said, "Yeah! W
Hiro smiled as he motioned for Violet to follow him as he said, "Oh right. Come on Violet."
Violet then started following him and the others back to Wasabi's car as she turned to the others and said, "Bye guys. See you tomorrow."
They all waved at them as Hiro and his friends went to Wasabi's car and they all shoved Baymax inside before they all sat down on the seats. Dash happily got in Fred's limo and sat across from him as Wasabi drove away in his car while the limo followed them.
Violet's friends all watched them drive away as Kari smiled and said, "Wow, Hiro seems really cool."
Lila smiled as she said, "Yeah and he's really cute too."
They all started walking away, except for Larry who stayed put while Tony said, "He must be some kind of genius if he's in college."
One of his friends spoke and happily said, "Yeah and those friends of his seemed pretty cool too."
Larry just stared forward and glared into space with hatred as he thought about everything that just happened.
Meanwhile Wasabi was driving as Violet sat next to Hiro, who said, "Sorry we were late Violet. We ran into a bit of trouble."
Wasabi nodded in agreement as he said, "Yeah, that guy on the glider was insane!"
Violet then became concerned as she said, "Wait, you guys fought that bad guy with the glider?!"
Wasabi was stressed as he nodded and said, "Yeah! He had bombs, lasers, and missiles! He was dangerous!"
Go Go glanced back at Violet as she said, "And he got away with the satellite dish."
Violet was surprised as she said, "Whoa. Sounds like Larry's not the only one having a bad day."
Hiro looked at Violet as he curiously said, "Yeah what's with him anyway?"
Violet stared forward as she explained, "Oh he's a creep."
Honey Lemon looked at Violet as she curiously said, "He's not your friend?"
Violet shook her head with an annoyed expression as she said, "No way! In fact I wish he'd leave me alone."
Wasabi kept driving as he curiously asked, "Why? What's wrong with him?"
Violet just kept staring forward as she explained, "He's just a guy with a really high opinion of himself. He thinks he's smarter than everyone and he loves to brag about everything he has and everything he can do. He shows off his money by buying expensive things, he goes on about how his dad expects him to follow in his footsteps, and he thinks he's so good looking."
Hiro looked at her as he nodded and said, "That does sound annoying."
Violet then spoke with some disdain as she said, "And he thinks superheroes are just superficial attention hogs who only help people for the fame."
They all showed disdain as Go Go said, "This kid sounds like a real heel."
Violet nodded and showed an annoyed expression as she said, "Oh he is, but he thinks he's so great. Today at lunch he bragged about being undefeated in the robotics club."
Hiro then became interested as he looked at her and said, "Robotics club?"
She glanced at him and said, "Yeah. There's this robotics club at my school where kids build their own remote-control robots and make them fight. Larry's never been beaten and he never lets anyone forget it."
Hiro then became more curious as he said, "Really… When's the next fight?"
Violet looked at him as she replied, "Tomorrow after school."
Hiro smiled as he stared up in thought, then Go Go looked back at him and sternly said, "Hey! Enough Bot Fight talk boy genius! You're supposed to be helping her study for her algebra test Wednesday."
Hiro then smiled at Violet as he said, "Oh right! Thanks Go Go."
They went to the Parrs' house and Hiro and Violet immediately got to work on algebra, with Hiro's help Violet started to show progress. Go Go also helped Dash with his homework, which did not take long as she helped him understand his math and complete it as she high-fived him. Honey Lemon smiled as she watched Baymax hold Jack-Jack, who made happy little baby noises as he looked up at him. Bob and Helen also chatted with Heathcliff as they talked about Boss Awesome and also about Big Hero 6's new lair. A few hours passed and Fred was playing a videogame with Dash as they stared at the screen intently until Dash won and cheered for himself.
Hiro and Violet then finished working as Violet said, "Okay. I think I got it. X equals 5."
Hiro smiled as he held his left hand up and said, "Yes! You got it!"
He and Violet happily high-fived as they both laughed together, then Bob came and said, "Hey kids, you might want to see this."
Everyone gathered in the living room and watched as the TV showed footage of Big Hero 6's earlier battle with the Red Menace.
Fred then narrowed his eyes as he pointed at the TV and said, "That's him! That's the guy!"
Hiro also narrowed his eyes as he said, "The Red Menace."
Helen glanced at him as he said, "Red Menace?"
Honey Lemon nodded as she looked at her and said, "Yeah, that's his name. He stole a satellite dish. We tried to stop him but he got away."
Wasabi folded his arms with a discouraged expression as he said, "Yeah. A lot of our gear didn't do any good against him."
Bob showed support as he said, "It's okay kids. Bad guys get away sometimes, it's not your fault. What matters is you saved all those people."
Helen nodded as she said, "Bob's right. Protecting people is more important than fighting bad guys. You kids all did good."
Hiro smiled at them before looking discouraged as he said, "Thanks, but I think I should start on some upgrades for us."
Bob smiled as he got an idea and said, "If you want to upgrade your suits I know someone who can help."
Hiro was surprised as he looked at Bob and said, "You do?"
Bob smiled as he said, "Oh yeah. An old friend of ours who I think would like you kids."
Hiro smiled as he said, "Sounds good."
Wasabi yawned and said, "Let's talk about it tomorrow. It's time to call it a night."
The rest of Big Hero 6 got up as Hiro said, "Wasabi's right. We'd better get back to the hotel."
Bob, Helen, and Dash all waved to them as Bob happily said, "Okay, bye kids. Get a good night's sleep."
Hiro waved at them and then pointed at Violet as he said, "By Incredibles. See you tomorrow. Keep studying Violet."
Violet smiled as she watched them leave and said, "I will. Thanks Hiro."
They all left while the Parrs watched them and Violet had a warm smile on her face as she secretly thought about Hiro.
While Wasabi drove his car Hiro happily said, "Well, Violet's doing good so far. I'm anxious to see how she does tomorrow."
Go Go smiled slyly at Hiro as she said, "Yeah, that's what your anxious about."
Hiro feigned confusion as he said, "What?"
Wasabi smiled as he paid attention to the road and said, "We know you like her Hiro. Just admit it."
Hiro than shyly said, "Well yeah I like Violet because she's great. She's a great friend. But that's all."
Go Go had an amused smile as she said, "Denial."
Honey Lemon smiled supportively as she said, "Hiro you should just tell her how you feel. You two are perfect together. You have nothing to worry about."
Meanwhile at Baxter's Penthouse
Larry was walking through the living room when his father said, "Oh son, how did your plan to win over Violet go today?"
Larry showed a slightly frustrated expression as he said, "Minor setback. I offered to help her study but she said 'no'. I'll try again tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get her to say yes."
Jordan looked at Larry as he said, "Remember Larry, let nothing stand in your way."
Larry nodded and Jordan walked into another room while Larry walked to the window and stared out at the city.
He pulled out his phone and looked at an image of Violet as he looked at it then out the window as he said, "Nothing will get between me and my Violet. Especially not that Hamada punk!"
Author's note: Well things are heating up. You can clearly see that Larry feels threatened by Hiro. Honey Lemon feels Hiro has nothing to worry about, but trouble is on the horizon. Please review.
