It has been years…
In all seriousness, I wrote this when I was a teenager, full of life and naïve dreams. Now that I have grown and acquired more experience, I decided to rewrite this fiction again. Why? Why not? Memories of writing the original fanfiction was a fond one for me. My best friend introduced me to the game which he modded to add in his own character. Inspired by his work, I wrote a fanfiction to accompany his modded gameplay. And thus, the Journal was born and I gained a best friend for life.
Yes, there's plenty of mistakes on the original. Plenty of strange decisions, writing style and other issues marred the original as well. I hope this new version improves upon the old story with better result.
The redux version is now the official version, as in will remain the canon within my personal universe until I made a new one. Anything I wrote in the future regarding MGQP will be based off this one as well.
The first few chapters are still similar. What changes the most would be when you approach Port Ilias, this is where things veered off into new territory. For better or for worse, you decide. Whatever is it, I am happy with what I have now.
Nevertheless, thank you all who enjoyed the first version. Let it be known that your criticism, encouragement, kindness, and feedback fuelled my desire to write this one to better than before. I truly am grateful for your patronage. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
