It was starting to get dark by the time they got to the lake where the entrance to Moria is. Gandalf looks around, "The entrance lies here to Moria," he says. Everyone gasped as it was the most beautiful sight they see.

Lucy sees a lake and the dark night shines on the lake. Susan smiles as she wishes that this could be as beautiful as Narnia is, "Everything is so beautiful here at night, when everything is daytime in Narnia, it is beautiful, but the ocean is beautiful in the night sky," she says. Edmund smiles and looks at everyone.

Gimli's eyes got wide, "I can't wait till you guys meet my cousin, he will give a good welcome," he says. Legolas rolls his eyes in disbelief, "A bunch of slobs I imagine," he says. Gimli growls, "First of all, you all being royalty is crazy that you guys aren't a slob," he says. Susan looks at Legolas and Gimli, "Okay why do you guys fight all the time, this has got to stop," Susan scowls at them. Gimli sighs, "Not to be rude your majesty, but me and him are both different races. The reason why we always angry with each other is because elves think they are so much better that they can come up with a plan better than us and that we can fight better than them," he says. Legolas doesn't say anything and smirks at Gimli, "You know I have a much better plan than you, you can't even use a bow right," he says. Susan looks at both of them, "Look you guys don't have to get mad at each other, you guys are both fine even though we are all different races but still no need to argue at each other on who is better," she says. Legolas and Gimli sigh at the same time and they started walking but apart from each other. Susan shakes her head as she watches them walk apart from each other.

As soon as everyone got the shore of the lake, Gandalf looks at the rocks, "The door can only be found by moonlight and starlight," he says as he looks at the cravings. He looks up and the moon shines on the rock. Gandalf looks up, "The door reads, Doors of Durin, Lord of Moria, speak friend and enter," he says. Sam looks at the door, "What does it mean," he asked. Gandalf looks at Sam, "It means if you are a friend, you can just enter," Gandalf says. Gandalf used his staff and starts speaking in both Dwarvish and Elvish. Everyone looks to see if anything happened but nothing. Gandalf sighed and tried again and then he tried to push open the door, but it was hard as rock.

Everyone was waiting as they all lie down on the ground, or they look at the fire. Lucy looks at the distance as Edmund look at her, "Lucy maybe you shouldn't have come with us, it could be dangerous with just your dagger and your healing vial," he says. Lucy scowls at Edmund, "You still treat me like a child, I am not a child anymore, I wasn't like the young little girl who just hangs back all the time. You expect me to hang back all the time because I am weak and worthless," she yells. Edmund sighs, "But I am just saying, we just don't want you to get killed," he says. Lucy argues, "You know what I am not going to talk to you, it isn't fair, I am tired of this," she says as she walked away from Edmund, and she sat right next to Frodo.

Edmund sighs and sits right next to Aragorn, "I was just trying to help, I don't understand why she doesn't like you know understand that I care about her safety, " Edmund says. Aragorn looks at Edmund and then the fire, "You got to understand that she is getting older nowadays she isn't like you know a kid anymore, I think she is trying to show you that she is a strong girl, and she isn't a weakling," he says. Edmund nods, and sighs, "She also got to understand that I care about her deeply," he says. Aragorn nods, "Yeah she will in time, she will understand and there will be a time when she will but at the meantime, she wants to show you that she doesn't need saving all the time," he says.

Pippin throws rocks at the lake and Aragorn sees him doing that, "Pippin, do not disturb the water," Aragorn says. Pippin looks at the lake as the waves were getting thicker and thicker by the minute.

Frodo looks at the door to Moria and he looks at Gandalf, "It's a riddle, what's the elvish word for friend," Frodo asked. Gandalf looks at Frodo, "Mellon," he says as the door opened for them. Gandalf laughs and Gimli looks amazed, "You did it Gandalf," he says.

Everyone walked through the doors and Gimli looked at Legolas, "When I first walk through here with my father, I remember him talking about that this is a cave, but my cousin called it a mine, a mine, " he says as the voice echoed through the cave. As Gandalf shines the light, everyone sees bones of what seems to be dead Dwarves. Sam got shocked and Lucy shivers as she holds Merry. Frodo notices and he sighs as he doesn't want to show anyone that he is jealous. Gimli screams in agony, and Boromir looks at everyone, "This isn't a mine, it's a tomb...we should have made for the Gap of Rohan, now get out of here," he yells.

Frodo was trying to get back until a tentacle grabs his feet. He screams, "Aragorn," he called.

Aragorn heard his call, "Frodo, we are coming," he says.

Everyone runs out of the doors and starts attacking the tentacles. All of a sudden, a hideous monster comes out of the lake. Lucy got shocked, and she looks down, "I wish I could help," she says. Everyone shoots arrows and attacks the tentacles with their sword. Legolas shoots the first eye of the octopus and Susan was about to the same. Aragorn came up to the tentacle that was grabbing on to Frodo and he slashed it. Frodo fell onto Aragorn's arm and Aragorn started to run away, "Legolas into the mines," he calls. Boromir did the same and picked up the little ones and they started running into the mines. They all got caved in.

Gandalf panted, "We only have one choice, we go through the mines," he says. Everyone panted and they look behind them to see if everyone made it in.

As they got deeper to the cave, Frodo walks right next to Lucy, "Are you okay," Frodo asked. Lucy sighs, "Yeah...it's just back there you know with the octopus, I wish I could have helped you," she says. He looks at her, "Look, it's okay that you can be helpless too you know, it is fine to be that way. Sometimes I feel the same way, but deep inside you, you are brave," he says. She smiles at him, "You really think I am brave," she asked. He nods and he looks at her hands, "What I was meaning to say when we were resting at the rocks, I was meaning to say that I like you, and I have feelings for you," he says as he blushed. Lucy blushed, "I like you too Frodo," she says.

Behind Frodo and Lucy, Sam smiles at both of them and continues on.

They got to a path and Gandalf sighs, "I don't remember this part," he says.

Everyone rests while Legolas keeps watch.

Susan sat right next to him, "You know, maybe you could give me a few tips on bows and arrows, you seem to like know how to aim perfectly," she says. He smiles at her, "I take that as a compliment," he says. She smiles, "You seem so gentle, no wonder everyone looks up to you, you should thank that gift you have. I think Gimli is jealous because he wants to be like you," she says. He looks at Gimli who was staring at the fire while he was sharpening his axe, "You really think so," he asked. She nods.

Pippin looks at Merry, "You think Gandalf is going to remember, I already want to get out of this cave," Pippin asked. Merry hushed Pippin, "Shh, Gandalf is trying to think," Merry says.

Frodo looks around and then he looks down and he sees something crawling up towards him. Lucy looks at Frodo as he ran up to Gandalf, "There is something down there, some kind of creature," he says. Gandalf looks at Frodo, "It's Gollum, he's been following us for 7 days, waiting for you to give up the ring," Gandalf says. Frodo sighs, "Why didn't bilbo just kill him when he got the chance," he asked. Gandalf shrugs and sighs, "Why couldn't he," he asked. He got shocked, "Oh it's that way," he says.

Merry got shocked, "Oh you remembered," he asked.

Gandalf shakes his head, "No, but the air doesn't smell so foul down here, you always got to remember Merry, always follow your nose," he says. They all follow Gandalf down the stairs.

As they got down, they come into a huge room filled with huge pillars that look like were man made. Gandalf looks around, "It seems better when the light gets brighter," he says as he holds his staff up to the sky. Gimli's eyes got really wide as he looked around.

Susan gasped, "There is a lot of things that meets the eye," she says. Edmund was behind everyone, and he looks ahead, "I wonder how far this mine goes to," he asked.

Gimli looks at Legolas, "Welcome to Moria," he says. Legolas eyes shine through the light making Susan blushed at his beauty.

They got farther down to the mine and Gimli notices a room that has a grave sitting in the middle of the light. He gasped as he runs towards it. Gandalf looks at him, "Gimli," he called.

Gimli looks at the grave, and he cries. Gandalf reads the words, "Here lies Balin, son of Fundin, Lord of Moria...so he is dead then," he says. Edmund puts his hand on Gimli as he cries. Legolas looks at Aragorn, "We shouldn't lurk here, I smell evil," he says. Aragorn nods.

Boromir looks around, "The trolls must have been in here and then escaped," he says.

As everyone looks around, Lucy gets scared and holds onto Frodo.

Pippin looks around as Gandalf gave him the hat and his staff.

Gandalf looks at a book that a skeleton had, "We have closed the doors, and no one can enter these mines anymore. We are running out of time. They are coming," he reads.

As Pippin looks around, he sees a skeleton sitting on the well. He turns the arrow around to fiddle with it and then all of a sudden, the head fell out of the skeleton's body and fell through the well. Everything fell into the well which made an echo through the mines.

Everyone stared at Pippin, and Frodo sighs. Gandalf took back his hat and his staff, "Fool of a took," he says.

Suddenly, there was a bunch of screeches and Frodo's sword glows. Legolas gasped, "Orcs," he says. Everyone got out their weapon and Lucy found a small sword that was in the grave of skeletons, "If there is something that I am brave for, there is something I can do about," she says.

Everyone barred the doors and get their weapons ready, "Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, stay near Gandalf," Aragorn says. Gandalf counts the Hobbits making sure they are close together behind them.

The doors were being forced open as the orcs try to go through them. Legolas and Susan shoot arrows trying to get the orcs away from them.

The doors finally forced open as the orcs charge for the Fellowship. Everyone screamed like they are going into war.

Swords and arrows were being shot and slashed through the orcs. Black blood oozes as it goes through the orcs. Aragorn keeps slashing through the orcs and Boromir sighs, "They have a cave troll," he says.

The troll decides to bash all the orcs out of the way and attacks the Fellowship. They all freaked out as they try attacking the troll, but their weapons can't really do damage. It saw Frodo and Lucy gets behind Frodo as the troll knocked out Lucy with his hammer. Frodo jumps up to the high ledge and gets away from the troll. Aragorn screams as he saves Frodo from trying to get killed. Edmund and Susan did the same. Susan got cut with a nearby arrow that almost hit her in the head. Legolas looked at Susan as he heard a yelp. He jumps up to Susan and shot the orc in the face.

Edmund yells, "How dare you hit my sister Lucy," he asked. Edmund slashes his sword and gets knocked out of the way, "How are we going to kill this troll," he asked.

Aragorn grabs a spear and tries to kill the troll with the spear. Suddenly the troll decided to knock Aragorn into the wall.

Frodo screamed and tried to wake up Aragorn, but he got scared as he tried to hide from his view. As he did, the troll looked around and then things got quiet. Frodo sighed of relief hopefully that the troll left to fight the others but as he looked back, the troll came back and roared at him. He tried to get away but then the troll stabbed him. He groaned in pain, and everyone gasped.

Gandalf was about to cry as he looked at Frodo. All the voices started to blur out as everyone tried to avenge Frodo as they thought he died.

Frodo fell to the ground as Merry and Pippin screamed in agony. Pippin jumped up to the troll and attacked the head.

Everyone did the same as they attack the legs. Legolas shot an arrow at the troll's mouth, and the troll died.

Lucy got up and saw Frodo on the ground. She started crying as Aragorn came up to Frodo, "Oh no," Aragorn panted as he turns him around and Frodo panted. Lucy gasped as she ran up to him. She cried and hugged him. Sam looks at Frodo, "How are you still alive," Sam asked. Aragorn looks at Frodo, "That is amazing, that spear would have skewered a wild boar," he says.

Gandalf smiled, "There is more to Frodo than meets the eye," he says. Frodo looks at everyone and then he opens his shirt that shows him the clothing that Bilbo gave him for his journey, "Mithril," he says. Lucy smiled, "I guess that protects him," she asked. Aragorn nods, "Yep it saves him from trying to get shot," he says. Frodo looks at Lucy, "Aer you hurt," he asked. Lucy shakes her head, "No just a scratch though," she says.

Everyone talks about themselves as Legolas tends to Susan's wound, "There, you should be fine," Legolas says. Susan sighs as she looks at him, "Don't worry about me, it's just a scratch," she says. He sighs and looks at her eyes, "Your eyes is like the gentle sky, it's wonderful," he says. She blushes as she looks at him being so gentle with her. He gets up as he went to the fellowship.

Gandalf looks around, "We should get out of here, we are going to be here and die here if we stay here," he says. Everyone nods as they ran out of the room.

Back in the hall of pillars, everyone runs as fast as they can and all of a sudden, a bunch of orcs were climbing down the pillars, and coming out of holes to chase them. Frodo gasped as he holds Lucy's hands. Edmund was behind Lucy as he sees both of them holding each other's hands. He then looks at Lucy and sighs. Legolas was running ahead of the group and looks back as he sees Susan running behind. He stops and waits for her to catch up, "You don't have to wait for me," she says. He didn't say anything as he ran with her. He didn't hold her hand this time but looks ahead for danger.

The orcs surrounded them as they all stopped. Legolas gets his arrows ready to shoot as he waits for the orcs to attack. Suddenly, there was a roar at the distance and all the orcs got scared and they ran away. Gimli laughs and Lucy looks around, "I don't think they are scared of us," she says.

There was a light in the distance, and Aragorn looks at Gandalf, "What is that?" Aragorn asked. Gandalf closes his eyes and then he looks at the light, "A Balrog, an evil demon from the deeps of Moria, swords and arrows are good for used for them," he says. The roar got louder and then Gandalf yelled, "Run," he says.

Everyone runs as they got to the deeper of the cave. Everyone was looking back and then they came to the stairs. Aragorn looks at Gandalf who was standing on the edge of the entrance, "Go, do as I say, the bridge is near," Gandalf says. Aragorn sees the bridge and then looks at Gandalf, "But I can't leave you here," Aragorn says to Gandalf. Gandalf looks at Aragorn, "I will be fine, I will be behind you guys," he says.

As they got down the stairs, arrows were being shot from both sides. Legolas and Susan shoot arrows at different directions trying to kill orc after orc.

As the rumble became stronger, the ceiling came down and hit the stairs. Part of the stairs started to crumble and then it left a huge gap. Boromir grabbed Merry and Pippin and jumped. Legolas jumped and he reach his hand for Gandalf. Gandalf jumped over the gap and Legolas helped him. Then Legolas reach his hand for Susan, and she sighs, "I can jump over," she says as she jumped but she missed a little bit and Legolas grabbed her hand, "You were saying," he asked. She didn't look at his eyes as he helped her up. Gimli jumped and he missed. Legolas grabbed Gimli's beard, "Aah, not the beard," he yelled. Edmund grabbed Lucy and they both jumped, "I thought I told you that I don't need saving," Lucy asked. Edmund didn't say anything as he looked behind. Aragorn threw Sam to Boromir across the way, and he catches Sam.

Suddenly the other side fell apart and then Aragorn looks at the chasm, "Wait for it Frodo," he says to Frodo. They move back and then forward like a swing.

The stairs went down and then Boromir grabs Frodo and Legolas helped Aragorn. They started running down the stairs towards the bridge.

They got to the bridge and Gandalf turned around.

The Balrog came roaring through the flames and roared at Gandalf. Gandalf runs, "Go keep running, don't look back," he says.

Everyone got over the bridge and then Gandalf stopped in front of the Balrog on the bridge, "Go back to the shadows you demon," Gandalf yelled. Frodo yells, "Gandalf," he called. Gandalf slams his staff, "You shall not pass," he says. The Balrog did nothing and then he went on the bridge, and it cracked under him. The Balrog fell into the abyss.

Gandalf sighed and then walked back towards the fellowship. Suddenly the whipped of the Balrog grabbed Gandalf's ankle and he tried to hold on to the ledge of the bridge. Frodo screamed louder, "Gandalf," he called. Gandalf looks at Frodo, "Fly you fools," he says as he fell into the abyss. Frodo screamed, "Nooooooo," he yelled.

Boromir grabbed Frodo, "Aragorn, we got to go," Boromir yelled. Frodo cries in his arms and they all ran out of the cave.

Outside of the mines, the Fellowship all got down to their knees and cried. Susan hugs Merry and Pippin as they cried in her arms. Edmund looked back he looked down as he could remember the time when everyone cried when he was wounded in battle a long time ago. Legolas looks at Gimli who was trying to go back to avenge for Gandalf. Sam cries and Frodo was about to walk towards the chasm to kill himself. Aragorn yelled, "Legolas, get them up, Frodo we need to keep going," he says. Frodo looks back and he cries in front of Aragorn. Boromir looks at Aragorn, "Give them a minute will you," Boromir yelled. Aragorn sighed, "By nightfall this area will be swarmed by orcs," he says as he got Sam up, "On your feet Sam," he says. Aragorn looks at Lucy, "We make way for Lothlorien, there we should be safe," Aragorn says.
