A/N: I'm back! This idea was floating around in my head for a while and I thought this would be perfect for the "Enemies to Lovers" prompt. I'll probably just focus that prompt for "RD Week" I hope you like it. I don't know where this story is going to go but I have few ideas. Enjoy!
Conquering the Demons
Chapter 1
The villagers of Summerset was enjoying the summer evening as it hosted a carnival with booths of games, food and entertainment. Laughter could be heard from the children as they ran all over the place to get as much candy and prizes before their parents decided t call it day while the adults conversed with one another. It seemed like an ordinary day to the villagers but to one entertainer, his demands were about to be met once his show began.
Placing a magical ring on the third finger on his hand. Boswell, checked his appearance in the mirror one last time as his faithful dove perched himself on his shoulder. "It's time for some real magic to begin." The magician chuckled to his animal companion.
" 'The show must go on.' they say but I'm afraid that won't be possible." A mysterious voice echoed in the wagon as green smoke appeared and a purple clad sorcerer stood behind him in the middle of the room, startling the the man as he quickly turned around.
"Whoever you are. You will not get in the way of my magic show. The people of Summerset are waiting for me to perform." Boswell claimed as he started walking past the man but was stopped by a invisible barrier. "Wha-. Let me through!"
All of a sudden, a dark robed sorcerer walked into the room levitating Boswell's ring off his finger and into his hand. Having the object pocketed in his robe, he went back to licking the ice cream cone he had just bought. "The villagers of Summerset have been informed the show's been canceled so now you won't have have to worry about disappointing an audience. We'll escort you to your next destination where your fellow inmates are awaiting your lovely entertainment,"
Infuriated, Boswell tried to run in the opposite direction with his faithful dove following him from behind. "You will not imprison me!"
Without lifting a finger, the purple clad man magically intercepted the runner by blocking his exit. "Your days of illegally using magic is over, Boswell." The man answered as he bound man's wrists together while magically placing the dove in his cage.
Finishing his ice cream, the dark robed sorcerer rejoined his friend at the door. "Nice job catching the criminal, Beddsic," The man grinned in amusement. "seeing you not move an inch to catch the criminals makes me fear you coming after me if I were one."
Rolling his eyes at the misuse of his name, the man began to lead a defeated looking Boswell out of the wagon while Greylock carried the bird's cage. "You sure took your sweet time informing the people to go home. I should have taken this mission by myself,"
"This was a two man job, Cedric. If you had done it on your own Boswell would have had Summerset under his magical control by now."
Knowing that he was right, Cedric didn't give his former classmate the satisfaction knowing this fact. Instead, he just continued walking through the now empty village in silence, leading the magician to their awaiting coaches as Greylock talked. One was a prison coach set to take the new prisoners while the flying coach was to take the two sorcerers back to headquarters or as they called it 'home'.
Once the the trio reached the coaches, Cedric and Greylock let the guards take Boswell and the dove to the prison carriage then went to get into theirs.
Once the duo were seated in the flying coach Cedric went back to listening to his friend babble.
"Don't be too mad. You should be happy this mission went smoothly unlike some of our other past missions," Greylock smirked as he elbowed his partner. "Should I remind you of the time you almost ruined one by falling for the the criminal, Sasha?"
Seeing that his statement had worsened his friend's mood an idea stuck the brunette . "How about I bake a batch of fly cakes when we get home. I know mine will never be as good as your mother's but since I didn't get you ice cream this could owe up to my slow timing."
"Fine. Just don't don't burn the castle down like last time." Cedric joked back as his foul mood was replaced with a more positive one. A chuckle escaped the two-toned sorcerer's mouth at the memory of their leader, Merlin sentencing his partner to confinement to his room for a few days from the incident.
After siting in silence as the two men watched the scenery fly by below them a tiny rolled-up piece parchment magically fell into Cedric's lap.
"Always on time like usual," Greylock mumbled as he laid his head back into his seat. "What does it say this time?"
After reading the contents of the letter Cedric looked towards his friend who looked back after not receiving an answer from him? "Well?"
"We're going back to school."
Girlish giggles could be heard coming from Princess Sofia's chambers as the two women were having their sleepover. With the guards that had been posted at the front of the double doors, the men could only conclude the two enchancian sisters were having a good time.
Having been away from home for nearly half the year taking on her role as Protector of Ever Realm for the first time and completeing missions in various kingdoms. The auburn haired princess had suggested to Amber that they have a sleepover to catch up on what had been going on in each other's lives. Since she had gotten done telling about her adventures she was currently listening to Amber's stories.
"And then Desmond proposed," Princess Amber told her sister as she let Sofia brush her hair for the night.
"Did you say 'yes'?" Sofia asked in excitement as she paused to wait in anticipation for the answer but the woman didn't have to wait long.
"Well, of course I did,Sofia," Amber answered back. We've been dating ever since we graduated Royal Prep. And now after all these years he finally feels like it's time to take that step. Usually, we would be king and queen by now but-"
Desmond wanted to wait an extra year or two, right?" Sofia interrupted as she went back to brushing Amber's long, blonde hair.
"Yeah, at first I was upset he didn't want to get married when we turned the appropiate age of eighteen but I think his aunt Nadine has really tried to control how he runs his life. It's no wonder Desmond was a shy boy back in the day. I think he was constanly being scared doing wrong in her eyes."
"Now, you got both her approval's and dad as well."
Yeah, it didn't take much to convince dad. From what I heard Baileywick tell him, the only opening to have a wedding and coration all together will be next year. I really don't mind waiting until then. I want James to be home when it all happens." Amber mummbled as she thought about her twin.
After graduating Chivalry Hall, Prince James had went on manny trips with the knights of Enchancia as a squire over the years to 'learn the ropes' as he had stated in his letters to his sisters.
Upon mentioning James, Amber remembered something. "Tomorrow, I'll give you the latest letter James sent us. I had told him you had to leave home for few months too but I wasn't sure when you would be back so I told him to come home soon so we all could be together again."
"That would nice." Sofia stated with a sigh as she finished brushing Amber's hair, put the brush on the vanity and sat back in her spot on the canopy bed. "We've all been so busy ever since we graduated schools, it's like we barely been able to see each other. I bet this will be be the year we'll have the family together again and we won't have to be so busy again. Mom and dad would just love that."
Yeah." Amber nodded in agreement. "Maybe tomorrow you could help me pick out the material for my wedding gown."
"Are you going to make your own wedding gown since you know how to sew now?" Sofia joked.
"Yeah, I would really like another girl's appinion which material would best though,"
Before Sofia could say that would be glad to help a knock sounded at the door."Come in." Sofia called to whoever was outside.
When the guards had opened the double doors the girls saw Baileywick walk in with a tray that held a tea set. "Welcome home, Princess Sofia." Baileywick announced as he set the tray on the vanity table. "I've sent word to your parents that've returned home. Sadly, they are at a summit in Freezenburg, and won't be home until tomorrow afternoon."
"Thanks, Baileywick. It's good to be home."
"I'll be retiring for the evening but if you two need anything else Violet and the other servants will see to you."
"Very well, Baileywick. That will be all." Amber answered.
Once Baileywick left the room Sofia gave Amber an amused smirk. "Sounds like you had the castle all to yourself."
"Only for couple of days." Amber waved off the fact as she went to pour the tea for the both of them.
"Well, I guess I should be impressed. None of the servants seem too tired and the castle looks normal..."
Know where this was going she placed her teascup back on the saucer and turned around. "Are you saying I over do things, dear sister?" Amber asked as she raised her eyebrow in curiosity.
"Well, given the way you took over my first tea party-"
"I see..."
Before they knew it both princesses were throwing pillows at each other waking the sleeping bunny from his nap. "How can anyone sleep with this type of noise?" He muttered as covered his head with one of the pillows the women had threw.
A/N: I hope my writing wasn't too bad after being gone for a while.
