Sorting Hat POV
As the Sorting Hat, my duty is to place each student in their respective Hogwarts house based on their qualities and potential. But this year Hogwart seemed happy, too happy for a regular sorting so not wanting to disappoint her I made my jobs with the utmost responsibility. The first student to approach me this year was a mischievous young boy named Adrian. I sensed that he was full of energy and eager to prove himself, but also a bit reckless and prone to taking risks. After careful consideration, I decided that his cunning and resourcefulness would serve him better in Slytherin than in Gryffindor.
Next in line was Narcissa Black, a stunningly beautiful girl with a regal bearing. I recognized her intelligence and ambition but also detected a streak of pride and arrogance that could lead her astray. After a moment's consideration, I declared her a perfect fit for Slytherin, where she would learn to channel her strengths and overcome her weaknesses.
Sirius Black was a challenging case, as his rebellious spirit and thirst for adventure were apparent. He wanted to be in Gryffindor, and I could see that his courage and loyalty would be valued there. But his family's history would have suggested Slytherin, a conflict that I could sense. However, after careful consideration, I agreed with him and placed him in Gryffindor.
Remus Lupin was a more difficult case, as I sensed both his bravery and his vulnerability to be different from other students. Ultimately, I placed him in Gryffindor, where I hoped he would find the strength and support he needed to overcome his challenges and rise to greatness.
Lily Evans was a bright and talented young witch with a sharp mind and a quick wit. I considered placing her in Ravenclaw, where her intelligence and thirst for knowledge would be nurtured but ultimately decided that her fierce determination and loyalty made her a better fit for Gryffindor.
Peter Pettigrew was a small and unassuming boy, with a nervous demeanor and a tendency to follow the crowd. The Sorting Hat sensed his desire to fit in and be accepted but also detected a streak of cowardice that could be his downfall. It reluctantly placed him in Slytherin, hoping that he would learn to find his voice and stand up for what was right.
James Potter was one of the last students to be sorted, and I immediately recognized his natural leadership skills and unwavering loyalty to his friends. I did not doubt that he belonged in Gryffindor, where he would become a true champion of the light.
Severus Snape stepped forward, his dark eyes burning with intensity. The Sorting Hat sensed his intelligence and cunning but also detected a deep pain and bitterness that he struggled to conceal. It considered placing him in Slytherin, where he would find acceptance and kinship but ultimately decided that his fierce loyalty to Lily Evans made him a better fit for Hufflepuff.
"Hadrian Peverell"
While the last student approached Hogwarts, I could feel a mix of emotions coming from the walls. I was intrigued to find out why Hogwarts was feeling both happy and guilty at the same time. The last student to have made her so happy was Dumbledore, but after he was elected headmaster, or even before that, she became disappointed in him. As the child approached, memories of a student from years ago named Tom Riddle came flooding back. He was a dark wizard, and although Hogwarts remained neutral, Dumbledore had failed to prevent Riddle's descent into darkness. But this child before me was different. I could sense his love and goodness from here. In a way, he reminded me of Tom Riddle, but he was so much more. As I sat on his head, I realized that I had sorted him before in the future. But why had I placed him in Gryffindor? He had thought to not be sorted in Slytherin, and my other elf had accepted it, but why? As I delved deeper into his mind, I discovered why. He was brave, so brave that even Godric Gryffindor would have been proud to have him in his house.
I took a moment to ponder what to do. Should I change my previous sorting and place him in Slytherin? Or should I honor his personality and place him in Gryffindor? I could feel the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. "Ahh... Harry Potter," I said, addressing the child. "I have already sorted you in the future, but it seems you want to go o Slytherin. May I ask why ?" Harry answered immediately "You have seen the future, it's in everyone's best interest that I change it and Slytherin is the best starting point. The house rivalry ruined Hogwarts and Dumbledore ruined the future of magic" Seeing his point "Alright Mister Potter but remember that Hogwart is in your debt so don't hesitate to ask her help"

"Slytherin" the hat yelled
I removed the sorting hat from my head, I couldn't help but notice the shocked expressions on the faces of the professors and students in the Great Hall. They were all staring at me as if I were some sort of monster, I was an Hatstall of twnety minute so it may be normal. I knew that Harry Potter had faced a similar situation during his time at Hogwarts, and I was determined to be stronger than he had been. I had been sorted into Slytherin, a fact that seemed to surprise everyone in the room except for the sorting hat. I made my way to the Slytherin table. I looked around at my new housemates, trying to get a sense of who they were and what they stood for. Some of them looked at me with suspicion, while others seemed to be sizing me up. I scanned the table, I recognized some of the students. There was Lucius Malfoy, a known Death Eater, and a few other members of pure-blood families like the Lestranges and the Rosiers. Some unknown faces looked at me with curiosity, perhaps wondering why I was sorted into Slytherin. I didn't want to draw too much attention to myself, so I kept my head down and tried to blend in.
When the feast came to a close, the elderly Dumbledore rose to his feet and addressed the assembled students, "Now that we are all satisfied with food and drink, allow me to say a few more words. I have the pleasure of introducing our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Mordecai Blackwood."Dumbledore's expression remained stern as he continued, "I expect all of you to treat him with the utmost respect and take his lessons seriously. Dark Arts is not a subject to be taken lightly." Some of the older students' laughter died down at the Headmaster's words, realizing the gravity of the situation. Others younger, however, continued to snicker and whisper amongst themselves. Professor Mordecai Blackwood stood up from his seat at the staff table, his black robes billowing behind him. He strode confidently towards the front of the Great Hall, his eyes scanning the sea of students before him. "Welcome, students," he began in a deep, menacing voice. "I am Professor Mordecai Blackwood, and I will be teaching you the intricacies of the Dark Arts. You will learn spells and incantations that will both amaze and frighten you. But remember, the power of the Dark Arts comes with great responsibility. Use it wisely, and never for personal gain."A chill ran down the spines of some of the students as they listened to the professor's words. They knew they were in for a tough and dangerous year of study.
After the headmaster finished his speech, the students began to leave the Great Hall. I decided to follow the Slytherin prefect who was leading the first years to their common room, even though I already knew the way. We descended into the dungeons and finally stopped in front of a plain-looking stone wall. The prefect turned to face us and said, "This is the entrance to our common room. As you can see, it may look like a simple wall, but in reality..." The prefect was interrupted by a group of older Slytherin students who had approached from behind us. One of them smirked and said, "Oh come on, we don't need a lecture from you, just say the password already." The prefect rolled their eyes and said, "Very well. The password is 'Pureblood'." With that, the wall slid to the side, revealing the entrance to the Slytherin common room. As we entered, I couldn't help but notice the dark and ominous decor, with various shades of black and green dominating the room.
"Welcome to Slytherin," greeted someone as we entered the common room. "I am Jody Jacknife and this is Rodolphus Lestrange. If you have any questions or trouble, feel free to come to us." I followed the group toward the door that led to the dorms. Like the Gryffindor dorms in Harry's memory, the right side of the corridor was for boys and the left for girls. I chose the last room on the left, wanting some privacy and space to myself. As I entered the room, I was surprised to see that it was rather spacious. It had a large bed, a desk, a wardrobe, and a small seating area near the window. The walls were adorned with green and silver tapestries, and the room had a faint scent of lavender. I couldn't help but feel relieved that I had a space of my own, away from the other students. I didn't want to be asked why I was up every night because of a nightmare. I unpacked my belongings and sat down at the desk, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for the year ahead. I changed into my pajamas and went to bed, my last thought before falling asleep being that I was finally home.

The headmaster's office's
"Sorting Hat, old friend," Albus addressed the enchanted artifact on his desk, "why did you sort him into Slytherin? Don't you know how dark the Peverell family can be? Are you trying to recruit more followers for Tom?"
Alistair, the Sorting Hat, remained silent for a moment as if contemplating the question. Finally, he spoke in a firm tone, "I am not at liberty to disclose such information, Headmaster. My decision is final."
Albus sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I understand your position, Alistair, but surely there must be a reason why you placed him in Slytherin. We need to ensure the safety of our students and I would like to know if he poses any potential threat."
The Sorting Hat remained unmoved. "I have sorted countless students over the centuries, Headmaster. Each sorting is based on a multitude of factors, including the student's character, their potential, and their desires. I cannot divulge any more information beyond that. But let me tell you this Albus if he poses any threat to the student it's because he would have a good reason."
Albus frowned, feeling frustrated. He knew the Sorting Hat was a powerful magical artifact, but he couldn't help but feel like it was holding back crucial information. He decided to change the subject.
"Very well, Alistair. Let's discuss the upcoming school year. We need to ensure that Hogwarts remains a haven for our students, especially with the threat of You-Know-Who and his followers still looming over us."
Alistair nodded in agreement. "Of course, Headmaster. The safety and well-being of our students should always be our top priority. I will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any developments."
Albus nodded, feeling slightly reassured. He knew that Alistair took his duties as the Sorting Hat very seriously and would do everything in his power to ensure the safety of the students at Hogwarts.
"Hogwarts must remain a sanctuary for all students. The staff and I will do everything in our power to keep them safe."
Albus felt relieved, knowing that the safety of the students was in good hands with Alistair and the rest of the Hogwarts staff. He gave the Sorting Hat a grateful smile, acknowledging its wisdom and dedication to the school's mission. Even though he had his doubts about the sorting of the particular student, he decided to put his trust in the Sorting Hat's expertise and focus on his responsibility as Headmaster for the time being- ensuring that Hogwarts remained a secure and nurturing environment for all its students to learn and grow.
