Chapter 1-Family
T-dog's P.O.V
Theodore Douglas, also known as T-dog, quickly picked up his bags and started to run towards the door. "T-dog! Don't leave me like this, man, please, don't leave me like this!" Merle Dixon begs, and T-dog stops.
"Come on, T," Morales says. T-dog looks at Morales.
"Please, man!" Merle begs. T-dog drops the bags on the ground and removes the key from his pocket as he runs towards Merle, but he trips and falls to the ground. The key hits the metal of the drain as T-dog reaches for it, and so does Merle, but the handcuffs stop him as the key goes down the drain. T-dog quickly stands up. "You did that on purpose!"
"I didn't," T-dog mutters. "I'm sorry," T-dog says as he turns around.
"T-dog, we gotta go!" Morales shouts.
"You did that on purpose!" Merle shouts, and T-dog stops.
"Morales, chain the door, do not let the geeks get us," T-dog orders the man, who nods. Morales pulls the door shut and locks it as T-dog looks at Merle. T-dog looks at his bag and Dale's tools. He walks over to the side of the roof and sits down.
"That was stupid."
"Yeah, it was," T-dog says. "We have enough food to last us a day or two, water too."
"What about these handcuffs?" Merle asks.
"We'll figure something out," T-dog says. T-dog stands up and walks over to his bag and Dale's tools. He grabs them and takes them over to Merle.
"That hacksaw could work," Merle says. T-dog was about to speak when the walkers hit the door, trying to get at the two men.
"It won't go through those handcuffs," T-dog says.
"Won't use them for the handcuffs."
"We're not cutting off your hand," T-dog growls. "I'm going to get us out," T-dog says as he sits down and grabs the radio.
"Don't even try. Those assholes aren't going to come for us. A nigger and redneck trash, we mean nothing to them."
"The rest might not come after us, but Daryl will."
"My baby brother will."
"So, was it always just you and Daryl."
"Nah," Merle answers. "We have a sister. She lived in Atlanta. She had my daughters with her. They were visiting her."
"You have children?" T-dog asks.
"Mmmhmm, Two, I was young, 20, I was with a woman at a bar, and I got her pregnant when she had the kids. She gave them to me and ditched us. I supported them, and took care of Daryl and my sister. I got a job and a shitty house, and slowly, we made it better. I didn't do drugs. I barely drank. I made something of myself and my family, and when I saw those bombs hit Atlanta, I lost hope in myself. I lost everything. I wanted to die. Daryl tried to pull me back. I've been an ass to you. I know that. This shit does stuff to your head. I'm sorry,"
"You're forgiven," T-dog says. "Let's figure out a way off of this fucking roof."
Merle nods as they hear something outside of the door and walkers falling to the ground. T-dog grabs one of Dale's screwdrivers as the chain is pulled on. They hear gunshots, and the padlock falls to the ground. The door is pushed open. A woman comes out with her gun raised. "Drop it," She growls. Merle looks up, and the woman freezes.
"Merle."
"Freya," Merle says as she lowers her gun and comes over to him. "You're alive."
"So are you. What's with the handcuffs? Did he do this?"
"No, don't touch him. He's a good man. He stayed with me when no one else did," Merle says. "Hope? Davina?"
"They're okay," Freya says with a grin. "We're holding up in a building. We got a group, small one, we heard shots, and I came looking."
Merle grins. "That's T-dog. He's a good man that I've been an asshole to. He's with us."
"Daryl?"
"He's alive," Merle says. "I need these off."
"I can get them off," She says as she reaches into her bag and starts to lockpick the handcuffs. She unlocks the handcuffs, and Merle pulls them off and stands up. He looks at his sister. Freya was thin. She was short standing at five-three. She had long dark brown hair and green eyes. She wore a black shirt and a black leather jacket. She had blue jeans and brown combat boots. On her hips were a K-bar knife and a Glock. Merle hugs his sister and kisses the side of her head. After, he lets his sister go and holds his hand out to T-dog.
"I was an ass. Let me make it up to you, at least try," T-dog nods as he shakes his hand.
"Take me to our family," Merle tells her.
"Alright, follow my lead," Freya says as she leads them toward the door. T-dog grabs his bag and Dale's tools.
Shane's P.O.V
Shane Walsh stood by the van watching his best friend and partner with his wife, Lori Grimes, and his son Carl Grimes. The man holding his family was Rick Grimes. "Shane," Shane turns his head and looks at Glenn Rhee. "We have to go back. T-dog is still there."
"Glenn-"
"I have been getting supplies for the camp for three months. T-dog saved me at the start, I owe him, and I'll go back myself."
"You won't have to," Shane says. "I'll go with you, but not today, we'll wait for Daryl to get back, and then we'll go."
"We should have another. Should I ask Rick?" Glenn asks.
"No. We'll find someone else," Shane says.
"I'll come," They both turn around and look at Jim, who is staring at them. Jim was a silent guy who mostly helped Dale.
"You sure?" Glenn asks. Jim nods as he walks away.
"When Daryl gets back, we'll go," Shane tells the man, who nods. Glenn nods. He glances at Shane and then back at the ground. "Is there something else, Glenn?"
"You okay?" Glenn asks as he looks at the Grimes family. "I'm not blind."
"I'm fine," Shane says.
"Alright, but I'm here if you need a friend," Glenn says as he pats his shoulder.
"I protected them for three months," Shane growls. "Three months, I got them out of King County, and I got them here, and I made sure they were okay. Rick gets back here, and they throw me aside like trash. Lori looks at me like I'm a monster. It pisses me off."
"You didn't just keep them safe," Glenn says. "You took care of all of us. We all owe you, even if they won't admit it," Glenn tells her before he walks away.
Merle's P.O.V
Merle and T-dog followed Freya as she let them across the rooftop of an apartment building. She stops by the door to the roof and knocks. "It's Freya," She says. The door opens, and a man looks at her.
"Friends?" The man asks.
"Yeah," Freya says. "This is my brother Merle and his friend, T-dog, Reed." Reed is a handsome man who stands about 5'11" in height and has a thin but muscular body. He has short brown hair. He has hazel brown eyes. He had a hatchet and a biretta on his hip. He had a black T-shirt and brown pants, and tennis shoes on.
"Alright, come on," Reed says as he leads them into the building. He leads them down the stairs to the first door and pushes it open. They walk in, and Merle looks at his daughters, who are talking with two men.
"Hope, Davina," Merle says. The two girls freeze and turn around to look at their father.
"Dad!" They both say as they walk up to their father and hug him. Tears form in Merle's eyes as he kisses their heads. Davina was slim. She was five-six in height. She had long blond hair and dark brown eyes. Hope is slim. She was a little shorter than her sister standing at five-five in height. She had long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Davina had a machete on her hip and a snub nose crosman relvover on her hip. She had a black tank top and black pants. She was wearing black combat boots. Hope had two climbing axes on her hip and an M1911 handgun beside them.
"Uncle Daryl?" Davina asks.
"He's alive," Merle says as he lets them go. "We're in a camp outside of Atlanta."
"How'd you get those?" T-dog asks as he looks at Rick's bag and hat that are sitting on the table.
"We saw your friend drop them," The man says. "I'm Pedro. This is Connor." Pedro was a tall man with dark brown hair. His hair was shaved on the sides. He had blue eyes. He had a slim build. He wore a brown coat and a white tank top. He had on black pants and brown combat boots. He had a Kukri on his side and a Ruger Blackhawk as well. Connor was tall. He was six-two in height and had an athletic build. He had short blond hair and blue eyes. He had a sword on his hip and a desert eagle. He wore a brown leather jacket and a red T-shirt. He had on camo pants and black combat boots.
"How'd you get past the walkers?" T-dog asks.
"Same way your friends did. We took the guns and the hat. Figured they would come back for them, and we'd try and join them," Connor says.
"It will be dark soon," Merle says. "First thing in the morning, we'll head out. If we leave early, at the ass crack of dawn, we can reach camp by breakfast."
"Then we better get some rest," T-dog says.
Shane's P.O.V
Shane sat by the fire as Rick talked. He looked at Dale as the man spoke. "What are we going to do about Merle and T-dog?" Dale asks.
"We're going to get them," Shane says. "Daryl should be back tomorrow. He's usually only gone a day. When he gets back, Glenn, Jim, Daryl, and I will head into Atlanta, get Merle and T-dog."
"The guns, too," Glenn says. "We need them."
"I can come," Rick says.
"No, you'll stay here. I don't want to piss Merle off anymore. I will calm him down and make sure he doesn't shoot you when we get back," Shane tells them. "I'm gonna turn in y'all. Got a long day tomorrow," Shane says as he stands up. He walks towards his tent.
"Hey, Shane," Rick says as he comes up behind him. "I wanna say thanks for keeping Lori and Carl safe."
"You don't need to thank me," Shane says.
"You are sure going after them is a good idea? I saw the city man."
"I wouldn't have to if you didn't lock Merle up."
"He was out of control," Rick growls.
"So you cuff him to a pipe? You did this, man, not me. You left T-dog and Merle up there. You know Glenn and Morales, they told me what happened. Now nobody here is going to defend Merle Dixon. But T-dog. He's a good man who has helped everybody in this camp. If they don't make it, Rick, their blood is on your hand. You do what you want, man. I'm going to protect these people like I have these last three months. If you want to take over, do it. I'll keep doing what I do," Shane says before he walks away from his best friend, who watches him.
Merle's P.O.V
Merle stood on the rooftop staring at the walkers. He looks at T-dog as he walks up to him. "They're asleep, Reed is on watch down there, and Freya will take over in a couple of hours," T-dog tells him. "I guess me dropping that key wasn't a bad thing."
"I guess not," Merle says with a chuckle. "I want you to know if that asshole, Rick takes over that camp. I don't think I'll stay. Rick doesn't know shit, Shane may have his issues, but he's a good guy. If it comes down to it, I'll call a vote. If Rick wins, I'm taking my family and going my own way. That asshole isn't getting us killed. If it comes to that, I'm offering you a place with us, you and anybody else who wants to come, Glenn, Shane, Dale, Jacqui, anybody."
"I'm with you," T-dog says.
"Good," Merle says. "We're going to have a long day tomorrow."
Thanks for reading. So this is a redo of my story. Ain't just us anymore. Some pretty big changes already. Merle has a family and a couple of new OCs that I'm excited to right. So if you want to get a better visual of those Oc's. Freya is based on Danielle Campbell. Davina is Madelyn Cline. Hope is Olivia Cooke. Reed is Daniel Gilles. Pedro is Cillian Murphy, and Connor is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Let me know what you think. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
