Summary:
Kazuki: "I just refuse to accept him as Miri's BF!"
Rei: "I just refuse to accept him as Miri's grandfather."
Chapter 2
"Hey, old guy, who are you?" Taiga forgot his manners.
You couldn't blame him. If not for Miri's influence and perhaps a little of Hinata and Kotori's shaming, Taiga was in general more like his mama and papa: proud, curt, and selfish.
That was the environment he was raised in, not that his parents weren't awesome in their own right, because they were (to their son, at least).
Taiga didn't know it, but these were attributes he and the fossil on the bench had in common.
The elderly man turned his head and Taiga visibly and vocally freaked out (again, forgetting his manners). There was a scar on the side of the man's face Taiga wasn't able to see initially, and while that might have been a cool thing for a boy like Taiga to see (something Taiga might otherwise question him about to the point of annoyance), the scar was attached to a very intimidating, very angry face.
Taiga couldn't even finish gulping. His eyes were more arresting than both Miri's papas combined!
Kazuki always looked like he was trying too hard, like he couldn't go to the bathroom.
Rei's expression was colder.
This old guy's mug was closer to Rei's, but Taiga could tell the old guy didn't have to put any effort into the stare.
"Suwa Shigeki, of the Suwa clan."
"Suwa? Are you Miri's grandpapa?"
"She calls me that. And as her grandfather, let me offer you a piece of advice."
"Ad-advice?"
"My organization comprises Japan's deadliest assassins. Those who upset my granddaughter, their ends will be swift."
Taiga didn't understand most of what Miri's grandpapa was saying, but he understood from his tone, he meant to protect Miri. Kazuki may have always looked like he couldn't go to the bathroom. That wasn't a problem for Taiga.
"OJICHANNN!" Miri ran over and hugged her grandfather's leg.
Kazuki was watching Miri like a hawk.
Rei, like he was contemplating murder.
