*beep* *beep* *beep*

Hinata groans as she lazily reaches out for her phone to stop her alarm. "Five more minutes won't hurt," she mumbles while turning her alarm off. She snuggles into her pillow and slowly drifts back to sleep with no problem.

*slam*

"Nee-san! You're going to make all of us late!" Hanabi yells as she barges into Hinata's room. She yanks the blanket off Hinata. "Get up! It's already 8:00 am. You know how Nii-san is!"

Hinata grumbles out "I'm up. I'm up." as she groggily gets out of bed and stumbles to the bathroom. She opens the door to see Neji in front of the mirror touching up his hair. "Good morning, Nii-san."

Neji nods at her as he leaves the bathroom, he nonchalantly says "If you're not ready in fifteen minutes, Hanabi and I are leaving."

Hinata nods as she closes the bathroom door. It doesn't usually take her very long to get ready. Her morning routine consists of washing her face, brushing her teeth, and lastly deciding whether she wants her hair up or down. A high ponytail with some pieces of her hair left down to frame her face was what she decided on. She leaves the bathroom to head back into her room and catches a glimpse of Hanabi running around like a tornado gathering her things for school while Neji is at the kitchen table sipping a cup of coffee. Hinata still had ten more minutes until Neji's threat was executed. She rummages through her closet for her black cropped hoodie, black high waisted shorts, a pair of white ankle socks and her black converse. She took a few moments to look at herself at the mirror, her midnight purple locks in a high ponytail, the dark circles forming under her pale lavender eyes, her pale heart shaped face surprisingly free of blemishes, her dry plump rosy lips and finally looking over her outfit that her body fills out so well. She frowns a bit at her appearance and quickly applies some ChapStick to her dry lips. This was going to be as good as it gets with the time she had left. She grabs her backpack and heads out back into the living room. There were still five more minutes to spare so she decides to take her coffee to go in her tumbler and grabs a couple of granola bars. She looks up to see Neji and Hanabi heading out the door. Hinata sarcastically groans out "This is going to be a great day," as she follows them out the door.

Hanabi is a freshman in high school while Hinata is a freshman in her college and Neji is a senior. The three siblings are quite a sight to see. Hanabi lives up to the meaning of her name, firework. This girl is beautiful with long dark brown hair, that reaches down to the middle of her back, long parted bangs with a single lock of hair falling across her face. She's well-endowed with a slender figure and she has the signature pale lavender Hyuga eyes, but compared to Neji and Hinata, she is a bit more on the tanner side. She's boisterous, carefree, and sticks up for anyone in need. Neji's calm and collected and quite the charmer. He's skilled in making conversation go his way. Neji has long dark brown hair that reaches down to the middle of his back with pale lavender eyes. He's on the taller side with a lean, athletic figure and quite handsome with his masculine facial features.

Hinata was the black sheep of the family. She was soft spoken, awkward, and easily embarrassed. She was bullied all her life by her family and people who despised the Hyuga family. This killed her confidence in herself, and it made it difficult for her to trust in people, but she's been trying to change to better support her little family. Although the three siblings all had different personalities and interests, the one thing they all had in common is their expertise in mixed martial arts and their will to survive exceeds any normal person.

After the downfall of the Hyuga empire, the three siblings had to fend for themselves. Their family abandoned them and went into hiding. However, it seemed like someone was watching over her. Hinata received a letter of recommendation to join Konoha PD's special task force. This was her opportunity to change herself and become stronger.

"Hinata? Earth to Hinata. We're here," Neji called out. Hinata snapped out of her train of thoughts and saw they arrived at their college, "Konoha University". It was her first day of being a college student. "Hinata, I won't be able to take you home today. I have soccer practice. Just take the bus home or catch a ride with one of your friends. Hanabi also won't be home right away she has kendo practice," Neji added.

"Okay, Nii-san. I'll see you at lunch?" asked Hinata. Neji nodded and they both parted ways. *ding* Hinata looked at her phone and saw that she got a text from Temari. 'Hey Hina! I'm in the courtyard near the big tree.' She walked towards the courtyard where in the center stood a large cherry blossom tree.

Hinata's POV

The whole gang was there chatting and laughing away. A lot of us haven't seen each other since graduation. I went up to Temari and greeted her. Temari's been my best friend since high school. She's intelligent, open-minded, but she has quite the temper. Temari's a bombshell with her curvy figure, sun kissed skin, sandy blonde hair and mesmerizing, teal-colored eyes. She's currently in her second year of college.

"Hina, you haven't been replying to my messages. I was worried about you," Temari stated.

"I'm sorry... I was busy at my part time job and didn't have much free time," I apologized.

Temari put her arm around my shoulder, "You don't have to apologize. I was just a little bummed that we didn't get to hang out before classes started," Temari chimed.

I smiled at her. We chatted for a bit longer until I started feeling uneasy. I could feel someone's intense gaze on me. My body stiffened and I slowly turned around to see Sakura giving me a death glare. I sighed and continued with Temari's and I's conversation. Sakura and I have never gotten along. For some unknown reason whenever I'm around Sakura's mood turns sour. Sakura Haruno, first year college student with beautiful bubble gum pink hair and bright emerald green eyes. She's your typical cheerleader; tall, slim, athletic, and she's what a lot of girls strive to be.

"Hina, Sakura's been glaring at you since you've been here. What's her problem?" Temari whispers.

I shrugged, "I'm not sure. Lately, she's been in a horrible mood whenever I'm around," I whispered back.

Suddenly, I'm being lifted off the ground and I'm face to face with something bright. "Good morning, Hina!" exclaimed the person who gave me a bear hug.

"Ah, good morning, Na-Na-Naruto... Umm, W-w-would you mind putting me down?" I softly said with a blush spreading through my face. 'Ugh, why am I still like this? I need to calm down. I can't be a stuttering mess anymore," I thought.

I heard someone scoffing and took a quick glance to see both Sakura and Ino rolling their eyes at me. Ino Yamanaka, also a first-year college student. She has bright light blue eyes with long platinum blonde hair that's always styled in a high ponytail with side bangs. She's tall, well endowed with a slender athletic figure. Ino and Sakura have been best friends and rivals. They've always competed in anything and everything to see who's better.

'What's their problem with me?" I thought while ignoring their hateful gazes.

"My bad Hina," he sheepishly replied. He lowered me down and smiled brightly at me. Naruto Uzumaki is a weird one. I've been friends with him since grade school. He has sun kissed skin with blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His most distinctive features are his birth marks shaped as whiskers. He's your typical jock, but he's a huge sweetheart. He's a little dense, but he's willing to give you a helping hand or save you from bullies. That's how we met. He tried saving me from a couple of bullies back in kindergarten. Emphasis on tried because he was beaten to a pulp, but I'll never forget it. Naruto was the first person to ever stick up for me. He made me a promise that day. He promised that he'd come save me if ever I was in trouble and to this day, he's kept that promise.

"It's fine! I was just caught off guard," I replied. "So, it looks like it's almost time for classes to start, what your first period?" I looked at both of them.

"I have Japanese with Kurenai-sensei," Temari replied.

"I have World History with Professor Kakashi," Naruto added.

I smiled at Naruto and said, "Looks like we're classmates for our first class of the day."

Naruto, Temari and I chatted for a bit until the bell rang. Temari and I had to part ways since we had different classes. Naruto and I walked together to World History. It was an average sized classroom with 6 long black tables that can seat three people. I looked around the room and the seats were filling up fast because the last two tables in the back were occupied by stacks of various books. Naruto excused himself from me to sit with Sasuke. The two tables in the front were occupied by students I wasn't aquatinted with, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura in one table, Ino, Choji and Sai in another, Kiba, Shino and a random classmate in another and lastly Shikamaru and Gaara's table with the only open seat in the entire class left. I went over to their table and sat in the middle seat. I gave them a small smile and greeted them good morning. Shikamaru greeted me with a hand gesture and Gaara smiled at me.

To my left was Shikamaru Nara, he's the genius in our group. He's tall with jet black hair always styled in a high ponytail and deep brown eyes. He's more on the slender side, but surprisingly he had some muscle definition. I've been friends with Shikamaru since grade school. Naruto introduced us shortly after that incident with the bullies. Although Shikamaru's a genius, he'd rather not apply himself in anything that doesn't spark him any interest. But when it does, you'll be amazed!

To my right was Gaara, Temari's younger brother. Gaara's quite popular with women. Who could blame them? He's this tall, hunky red head with stunning teal eyes and his voice is pretty seductive. He's also got a killer smile. Gaara was the captain of the soccer and wrestling team back in high school. We became aquatinted around the same time I met Temari. Gaara and I ended up close because of her.

"Good morning, Hina," Gaara greeted with his sultry voice.

"Ah, good morning Gaara," I replied softly with a small blush spreading through my face.

Gaara let out a chuckle. "You know nee-san really missed you. She kept complaining that she couldn't see you," Gaara stated.

"I know. She was telling me about it this morning. You know why I couldn't... I mean why I didn't have the freedom to do so," I said defeatedly.

Gaara patted the top of my head and gave me a small smile. "I know. I know. Hey, don't look so down. You worked really hard during summer, but don't forget if you ever need someone to lean on, you can always count on me," Gaara said softly.

My heart skipped a beat. 'Calm down! He's just being friendly. Plus, he's my best friend's younger brother!" I thought to myself.

"Thanks, Gaara. I'll keep that in mind," I sheepishly said.

"Anytime, Hina," Gaara replied.

Gaara and I chatted for a while. Gaara's always been a bit of a jokester. He kept making me giggle with his random jokes and puns. I'm not sure what it is, but whenever Gaara and I are talking it seems like everything and everyone disappears. He makes feel so comfortable.

"What a drag," Shikamaru said out loud. "Listening to you two flirting makes me want to jump out this window."

"F-f-flirting?!" I exclaimed. "We're not flirting!" My face turned bright red and it was getting a little hard to stay conscious. 'Do not faint!' I screamed internally. I bit my lip to keep myself conscious.

"C'mon Shikamaru. Don't tease Hinata like that. Plus, I was the one doing all the flirting anyways," Gaara responded with a smirk.

I looked over to Gaara in shock from what he just said. 'Calm down. Gaara's probably joking. Why would he waste his time flirting with me anyway, right?' I thought to myself.

"Tch, fine whatever," Shikamaru muttered and turned his gaze out the window.

Gaara looked at me with a bit of a worried look. He squeezed my hand lightly and softly said, "Calm down Hina. Shikamaru was just teasing." He then whispered into my ear "Hina, it's getting a little hard to control myself around you if you keep being this cute around me."

His sultry voice was ringing in my head. My face was burning from embarrassment and ended up redder than before. "I-I-I," I stuttered out.

Garaa let out a hearty chuckle and said, "I'm so sorry Hina. I'm just teasing."

I ended up laying my head on the table with my hands covering my face. I was little hurt that Gaara would tease me like that because recently being around him makes my heart race. "Gaara you're such a meanie," I muttered out.

"You're just too cute to not tease you," he replied while smirking.

I mustered up all the courage I had and lifted my head. I slid my hand onto his knee, and I whispered into his ear as alluringly as I could, "But you're not fair Gaara. How could you toy with my heart like that? I've been vying for attention for a while now, but its seems like you haven't noticed me at all." I lightly squeezed his thigh and gave him the cutest smile I could muster.

Gaara's face turned a light shade of red and he couldn't take his eyes off me. He tried saying something aloud, but his voice seemed to be failing him. I smiled at him triumphantly and stuck my tongue out at him. "I was just teasing," I said confidently.

Gaara turned his face away from me and said "You really got me there Hina. I didn't know you had it in you." He slid his hand into mine and whispered into my ear, "Since you got me so rattled, I'm taking your hand hostage."

"Huh? B-b-but why?" I stuttered out.

He shrugs his shoulders with a blush still dusting his face and casually says "I like the way your hand feels."

All that confidence I had while teasing him dissipated. I eventually accepted that my hand was being held hostage by Gaara. I giggled at that laughable notion. We were both still awkward with what just happened, so we just silently sat there holding hands. His hands were significantly bigger than mine and a little rough with callous. My heart was still racing, and it felt like my blush was still on my face. I tried to sneakily take a glimpse at Gaara's face, but I realized he was resting his head on the desk. I didn't know what else to do so I opened my notebook with my left hand and started doodling. After about 10 minutes of doodling random stuff, I saw at the window, I heard very light snoring. I turned to my right and saw Gaara had fallen asleep. I tried seeing if I could get my hand back, but he had a pretty firm grip of it. I glided our hands to my lap since my arm started to ache.

"Hey Hinata," Shikamaru called out.

"Hmm?" I mumbled out.

"Towards the main gate do you see that?" He asked. He slid his chair back so I could get a better view.

I turned my gaze out the window. I saw a person at the gate and what looked like a couple of teachers or uni staff. The building we were in was pretty close to entrance, so the view wasn't too bad. It looked like the person outside was trying to get through the gate.

"That's odd. It looks like that person outside the gate is trying to get in and the teachers look a little distressed," I stated.

"Yeah, I agree, but take a closer look at the man outside. It looks like he's just bumping into the gate mindlessly," Shikamaru pointed out.

I tried taking a better look by squinting. I gasped.

Shikamaru got up confused and asked, "Did... Did you see that Hinata?"

"Sh-Shikamaru. That man just bit that him. He bit that teacher," I stated in disbelief.

Suddenly an announcement came through the intercom "Students of Konoha University, please remain calm. There have been strange incidents happening throughout campus. People are aggressively attacking each other. Please stay in your classrooms and secure your doors. Do not leave your classrooms. I repeat DO NOT leave your classrooms."
