Naruto's POV

'Okay, this should be easy right? Who am I kidding? This isn't going to be easy!' I thought to myself. 'Wait! Maybe if I can get Ino on our side, Sakura will follow.'

I started walking towards Ino and Sakura. I noticed Sakura was sleeping while Ino looked like she was busy on her phone. "Heyy Ino," I whispered.

Ino tilted her head slightly and whispered back, "What do you want Naruto?".

I motioned her to follow me. Ino got up and sighed. I started walking towards Professor Kakashi's desk and she followed me.

"What do you want Naruto?" Ino asked annoyedly. It looked like she was still upset with what happened earlier.

"I just wanted to apologize about what happened earlier and I wanted to check how both of you were doing." I replied calmly.

Ino looked at me suspiciously. "Did Shikamaru put you up to this?" Ino asked curiously.

"Yes and no. Shikamaru is worried about you two, but I genuinely wanted to check up on you two. Ino... Please be honest with me. Sakura changed right? She's not her usually bubbly, cheerful self anymore." I pleaded. 'Please work. Please work.' I thought.

She just stared at me for what felt like an eternity, but eventually she said, "I know what you mean. I don't know why she went into this mean girl routine. I miss how we all got along together. I miss how we used to all laugh and joke with each other, but it all changed when she joined the group." Ino glared at Hinata.

"What do you mean? Elementary and middle school was fine and Hinata was already part of our group." I tried saying softly while moving closer to her.

"You won't get it Naruto because I barely understand Sakura's jealousy towards her," replied Ino. "Ever since she joined our group, you guys slowly stopped paying attention to us. It was all about Hinata this, Hinata that and where's Hinata? I didn't care as much because at least I had Sakura, but Sakura couldn't accept that Hinata captivated everyone. So, Sakura started to distance herself and as her best friend I couldn't let her go to the dark side by herself."

"You know that's not true. I basically begged Sakura for her attention elementary, middle school and part of high school. I finally got the message senior year that I would never be good enough for her." I explained to her sadly. "Ino. It doesn't have to happen all at once, but... Look at what's happening around us. Help me Ino. Help me get Sakura and you to safety. I don't want to lose anyone."

"Naruto..." Ino calls out and pulls me into a hug. "Naruto, it's all too much. Thinking of Sakura, thinking of my family and thinking of what's going to happen next. It's so scary. I just want to go back where we were all happy and close again."

I hugged her tighter and said, "Don't worry, Ino. You can count on me. I won't let anything happen to you... And Sakura."

Ino started to cry into my chest. I tried comforting her as much as I could and after 5 minutes she finally stopped.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to be such a crybaby." Ino said with an embarrassed look on her face. "I'll try even harder to help Sakura. Naurto... Thank you for this I really needed it."

I held her hand to comfort her even more and said, "I promise that I'll keep you safe. I mean I'll keep both of you and everyone safe!" I noticed a small blush spreading through her face.

'Crap, crap. Why is she so cute?" I thought. I could feel a blush creeping on my face, too.

Ino smiled. "I think I should go back to Sakura now and wake her up now. We have work to do right?"

"Heh. Once you and Sakura up for it we do need help with getting supplies set so we can head out of the classroom." I said to her while rubbing the back of my head.

Ino nodded and started walking back to Sakura.

'I hope this all works out. I really don't want to lose anyone,' I thought while looking at everyone hard at work.

Hinata's POV

"Uchiha-san, we should ask Choji if he couldn't help us, too. We need all the muscle we can get." I suggested.

"Hn." Replied Sasuke.

I jogged over to Choji who was looking out the window. "Hi Choji! Would you be able to assist Uchiha-san and I with something?" I asked politely with a smile on my face.

"Oh, hi Hina. I'm happy to help," Choji said softly.

"We're breaking down whatever we can to make some weapons to be able to journey outside," I explained.

"I can definitely help with that," Choji replied.

There were two black tables at the back of the classroom that had various textbooks on them. Choji and I took all the textbooks and stacked them in a corner.

"Uchiha-san if we disassemble both of the table's legs then we'll have at least 8 three foot wooden 'clubs'. We could also disassemble some of the scissors to use as knives and lastly, we can also take apart the brooms and mops to use as spears maybe?" I stated.

"Yeah, we'll do that. Choji and I can disassemble the tables, but we need a screwdriver or a multitool. Do you have one?" Sasuke asked.

"I think I should have one in my bag. Let me get it," I said while I jogged over to my backpack.

Rummaged through my bag and finally found the multitool. "Found it Uchiha-san," I exclaimed while tossing it to him. Sasuke caught it effortlessly. I walked back to them.

"I also found a chisel and some sandpaper in Professor Kakashi's desk when I was helping Shino look around," Choji said.

The three of us went to work creating weapons. An hour and half went by, and we were finally done. Choji was surprisingly good at morphing the table legs into actual clubs.

"I can bring the weapons to Shikamaru," Choji suggested.

"Yes please! Thanks for your hard work Choji. I didn't know you're great at woodworking." I replied.

"It's one of my hobbies I picked up from my dad..." Choji said softly.

I put my hand on his shoulder and said, "We're going to get out of here and see our families again."

Choji gave me a small smile and headed to Shikamaru.

"Hyuga," Sasuke called out. "Be honest with me. What do you think of our chances of surviving our escape out of the campus?"

"If your intel is correct, I think our chances are high as long as we don't have any hiccups along the way, but..." I replied back. I went up to Sasuke and whispered to him "But half of us don't have any combat training. The five of us haven't done any training with real hostile combatants. Also, adding fear into the mixture of things, a lot could go wrong. So, my honest opinion, for all of us to make it out without dying or getting infected is at a 60% chance."

"Hn," he replied back and started walking towards the window.

General POV

Everyone's attention was towards the hallway windows. All you could hear were loud footsteps echoing through the classroom. It sounded like someone was running.

*THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD*

"Please! Anyone! Someone please... HELP ME!" a familiar voice yelled.

"Tenten?" Hinata spoke up. After a few moments realization kicked in. "Its Tenten guys!" Hinata ran up to the table, grabbed the makeshift knife and made her way to the nearest door.

Tenten's screams got closer and closer. "Make it stop! Make it stop!" Sakura screamed falling to the ground. "I don't want to die!"

"Shikamaru! Snap out of it. Help me move these tables! ITS TENTEN FOR GOD'S SAKE!" Hinata yelled while trying to drag the tables out of her way.

Shikamaru was still in a stupor. It looked like he couldn't make up his mind whether to risk everyone's safety for one person who may or may not be infected. "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" Shikamaru shouted in frustration while slamming his hand onto the table in front of him. "Naruto, Gaara Sai! Help her move the tables and grab a weapon."

The three men complied with his commands, but Sai gave Shikamaru a disappointed look. Shikamaru glared at Sai and grabbed a weapon. Shikamaru directed Kiba, Shino and Choji to protect the two girls huddled in the corner.

"We got this Shika. G-go help them," Choji said while holding one of the makeshift clubs in a defensive stance. Shikamaru could see the fear in all their faces.

"We're going to be fine. My team and I can handle this," Shikamaru said trying to comfort them. He headed towards the door holding a makeshift knife. His hands were trembling, but he knew he had to be brave because Hinata was right. The girl screaming outside is Tenten and we don't abandon our friends.

"Hinata watch out we got it!" Naruto shouted out to her.

Hinata nodded and got out of their way. Naruto, Gaara and Sai went to work moving the table barricading the door. Sasuke stood behind Hinata with one of the makeshift clubs in his hand. "Are you sure about this, Hyuga? You're risking 9 other lives by doing this. You seem to be Shikamaru's blind spot. You know he wouldn't have agreed to this if you didn't make a scene," Sasuke whispered to Hinata.

Hinata ignored him. Shikamaru stood next to her and said "I'm sorry. It won't happen again," He gave Hinata's hand a comforting squeeze. "We don't abandon our friends."

Hinata's muscles felt tight, and her heart felt like it was beating a thousand beats a minute. Guilt started to sink in and Sasuke Uchiha's words played in her head over and over. She clenched her hand tightly around the handle of her makeshift knife. "Are you guys ready?" Hinata asked as the last table was moved.

Sai unlocked the door and held the handle ready to open it. He glanced at Shikamaru waiting for his signal. "Ready when you are boss," Sai said stoically.

"Alright, once we're outside Naruto, Hinata and Sasuke at the front. Sai will stay at the door and Gaara and I will be at the rear. Open the door Sai," Shikamaru instructed.

Sai opened the door and the five of them quickly headed outside in the order Shikamaru instructed them to be. Naruto and Hinata's eyes widen. There looked to be 10... No, 15 zombies right behind Tenten. "Get ready," Sasuke said while clenching his club.

Naruto tightened his grip on his club and Hinata yelled out "TENTEN!"

Tenten looked up and smiled.

I'm so sorry for the late update! I wasn't satisfied with how I wrote chapter 4 so I decided to scrap it and start over. I'm still not happy, but here it goes!
