Another Chapter

Knight never thought being on foot in Beacon academy, ever again. However here he was sitting in front of his squadron mechanics working on his jet. It was weird to feel after 10 months of fighting that peace was in front of them. All that was left were some atlas air forces with an experimental air battleship that didn't surrender after the cease fire and captured of Vale city by Earth forces and was planning to lunch a massive strike on the city.

During the battle it was revealed that the war was orchestrated by some of the elite class from all kingdoms. Ironically this was shown to the world by teams RWBY and PNR "at the end they were good doing their jobs" David thought feeling nostalgia. Now a new coalition was being organized to join the air forces from earth and what was left from remnant units with only one objective to fix these broken skies. Knight thoughts were interrupted by the order to go to the briefing room.

The room was filled with pilots from the UNF and some Vale and Atlas pilots, the feeling of tension in that place was hight. The officer in charge of the new improvise base started to give the orders.

"Everyone here? good. I know that for everyone is not easy being here, but we had a duty to fulfil, all of us. As all know after the cease fire was declared, the forces under general Thormane refused to surrender and launch from an experimental air battleship cruise missiles but thanks to our teamwork and the actions done by a deserter, we avoided the worse and won time. Now we must destroy that airships before it lunches another attack on the city. To do this you need to destroy the battleship battle group, fighters and air defences. Be careful the enemy has drones, top of the line fighters with ace pilots, long range missiles, laser weapons and other weaponry that we don't know about. After you do that, we will launch a saturation attack to finally destroy that dam ship! We only have one shot to do this, but I know with your skill we will make it. Good luck! Dismiss".

The pilot with the broken sword walked through the walls of the academy to the improvised hangar. Even after all that he had done through the course of the conflict, he was feeling a little nervous for the operation. His thought was interrupted by a voice that hadn't heard in 6 years; Weiss Schnee was behind him.

"Jaune… has been a while" she said in a serious tone.

Knight didn't even tourn around to see her. He didn't want to do that.

"It's David now, what do you want, Schnee? The pilot said in a cold way.

"I just wanted to see the ace pilot that changed a course of a war, isn't that right ace with the broken sword or should I call you Demon of the anima strait?" the huntress said in a cocky tone.

The pilot sigh and then said, "I am sorry for killing your father and almost killing you three months ago, it wasn´t personal".

"Oh really? Why did you shoot to Pyrrha, Ruby and me that night? Do you know how much damage you have done?" Weiss was starting to get angry.

"I am not proud of the things that I have done, especially my mistake from 6 years ago and all the blood that I have in my hands, but we are at war. A conflict created by bad people that made innocent people kill each other".

The huntress stayed in silent wanted to tell him that he didn't know a thing about what was happening behind the scenes. Specially about Salem, she was the biggest influence in the conflict and only a few people knew about her.

The ace continues to speak "I don't hate you or your partners anymore, I should thank you for telling the true about the war. Now we are one step away from peace, you did your work now we will do ours". David just turns a little to see the huntress and said, "Have a good life Weiss, goodbye", after saying that Knight continue walking leaving the huntress behind.

The ex-heiress was left in a small shock after seeing for one moment the scar on his right cheek that she left him 6 years ago. The memories started flooding, when they were kids and those weeks in their first year in beacon, all the destruction and death that he brought and thought in Salem. Weiss feel fear of both figures, then a white light turned from her eyes, as a maiden she should do something, but she can't, she only could hope that the ace and pilots would succeed in their mission.

She should tell the other that she found him...

When David entered the hangar, he greeted the crew and then started checking his aircraft. While he was doing that, through the comms of the new formed alliance General James Ironwood, one of the only generals that were loyal to the people of Atlas, started to give a speech:

"Good morning to everyone that is listening, my name is James Ironwood in behave of both sides, I will give you an announcement. After 10 months of fighting in a worthless conflict, all of us have realized that we all want peace between our worlds. However, there are some of us that doesn't want that, and they will do whatever it takes to avoid peace. In half of hour the bravest pilots that two skies have seen will take part in the final mission that will result in the defeat of the vile enemy who has brought chaos to all of us. Although we are from different worlds, nations, and of different races, we have fought suffered and died together, fighting for what we believe. Today we set all our differences aside with only one objective peace for our people, friends and our family. Our victory will herald a new beginning of a new era between our worlds. Victory will be ours! We shall return to our people, and win back our freedom, and our future. Now let us fix these broken skies!".

Even in these moments Knight couldn't deny that Ironwood was a good soldier. As always, his plane was at 100%, he thanked the crew chief. Got inside, put his helmet on and checked the aircraft systems, all green. After that he checked his systems and missiles, he had 48 of them and hoped that were enough. Jaune took one deep breath and thought on what he was going to do: take off, get to formation with his team, get to the operation and win. Sounded easy.

Now the pilot with the broken sword, the leader of the Wyverns, the demon of the anima strait, the new ace of aces, David Jeffords or Jaune Arc had a mission end this conflict.

"Flicker 1, aircraft prep complete. Sortie Asap"
