"When I wished to sing of love, it turned to sorrow. And when I wished to sing of sorrow, it was transformed for me into love." -Franz Schubert

Sheldon watched as Amy made her way back to the piano so quietly that no one else in the audience noticed. As everyone continued their conversations, Amy sat on the piano bench. As her finger fell on the first key, Sheldon was amazed at how much emotion he felt at one single C. As the piece's mellow beginning continued, the people in the room slowly began to stop their conversations and pay attention to the pianist in front of them. The main melody seemed to resolve, giving the impression of a finished piece. However, Sheldon knew that was not the case, as he had heard the piece many times before. Suddenly, a torrent of surprisingly violent scales and tremolos came with stunning furiousity. At this moment, Amy had everyone's attention; they all stared in awe. As he saw her fingers bounce on the keys and slowly return to the original dulcet melody, Sheldon became painfully aware he was falling in love with Amy Farrah Fowler. The piece finally resolved, and Amy got up from the piano bench and bowed. As everyone was broken out of their wonder, the sound of clapping was heard with resounding ardor. Amy walked away and back towards the gang.

Knowing she touched the hearts of many with her performance, Amy contently walked back towards Sheldon and his friends. She was barely able to sit down before Penny squealed.

"AMES, THAT WAS SOOOO GOOD! EEEEEEE," Penny eyes were bursting with joy.

"Yeah, Amy, I loved that first piece, but the second one was really something. The emotion was almost tangible," Bernadette added.

"Well, looks like Neil Diamond has got some real competition on my favorites list from this... " Howard checked his program, "Chopin guy."

"It was so beautiful, I nearly cried. I wish Emily could've heard it. It's a good thing I had the foresight to record. Ah, it was so romantic!" Raj gushed.

"I agree. You're really talented, Amy. I know you've got to practice for the technique and all that, but I've seen a lot of pianists and not everyone can convey so much through the music like you just did," said Leonard."

Ignoring the sudden nickname from Penny for now, Amy thanked the group, "Thank you, guys. I appreciate it."

Sheldon, who had been quiet until now, mumbled, "Perfect."

"Sorry, I didn't hear you," Amy said, thinking she must have heard wrong.

"Perfect," he said a little louder. "It was perfection."

Amy looked up into his eyes. She knew she need not say anything. He had heard it all during her performance, and, now, he could see everything in her eyes. Under the table, she reached for his hand and squeezed it. As they continued reading each other's eyes, they heard Penny say, "Woah, guys. Get a room."

Their eye contact broke, and Sheldon looked at Penny in derision, "We are in a room, Penny." He rolled his eyes.

"It means- you know what? Nevermind," said Leonard.

Amy laughed and saw Sheldon look at her in confusion. She whispered into his ear, "I'll tell you what it means later."

He nodded and the gang continued their conversations.

As the night came to an end, Penny told Amy, "Bernie and I really liked meeting you, Ames. You should come to our next girl's night on Thursday."

"It's Anything Can Happen Thursday, so we decided to have an impromptu girl's night," added Bernadette, "We usually have them on Fridays, though. We'll also have our regular one on Friday if you're interested in that too."

Amy looked at Sheldon and back to the girls, "Well, I can come on Friday, but Sheldon and I already have plans on Thursday."

"Oh, don't worry about it. We will see you on Friday. Have fun on Thursday!" said Penny.

Amy and Sheldon walked back to the car.

Sheldon was dropping Amy off at her door.

"I would like to confirm our lunch plans for Tuesday," said Sheldon.

Amy smiled, "Yes, Sheldon. We are still having lunch on Tuesday." She looked into his eyes after a moment of silence and her smile faded. Sheldon's look was so powerful and full of fervor. For the second time in one night, the pair got lost in each other's eyes.

Sheldon slowly brought his hand up to her cheek and whispered in her ear, "Good night, Amy."

"Good night, Sheldon. Text me when you've arrived at your place." She watched as Sheldon slowly made his way out of the apartment building.
