72 days since arrival…
Shaking doesn't stop. Fuck me. Almost dropped some ink onto the page. Can't write as much as I used to.
This bloody ship is a study of anachronism I tell ya. Everything here looks like your standard 1800-era merchant ship, woods, and all. Then you have marines in literal steel plate patrolling the deck with flintlocks and magic staffs, while sailors wage war against disease and rot through endless scrubbings.
Then lunch you have standard medieval-era home-cooked food. Potato stew with sides of peas and carrots, some lime juice to go with it too. You ask the cook where they store the fresh goods so that they don't spoil too fast, they show you a jar that functions almost like a freezer. Ship's moving incredibly fast yet not as shaky as I expected, almost like a modern cruise ship, but its still propelled mostly by wind. Rooms are small and incredibly spartan in function, yet still have enough air flow to not feel like an oven, as if they have limited air-conditioning in return. In short, it felt like a modern cruise ship mimicking the feel of an old piracy-era ship, rather than being an actual one.
It's a bloody whiplash. I'm thankful that my travel will be more comfortable than expected, but some part of me felt betrayed at least.
I didn't see much the rest of the boys are. Natsuki and Oskar is busy playing chaplain, just spending their time praying on their knees for the entire day. Kael was with the rest of the magician, maintaining the magic that was keeping the ship comfortable. Magicians are incredibly valued on the ship, hence why they have better grub than the rest of the ship.
Me? I got bored and decided to walk around the ship, see how it worked. Aside from that, nothing much. Captain told me that we were guests, so we weren't expected to work. Don't feel comfortable being dead weights in the ship, so I'll see what I can do on the ship soon.
