A Few Weeks Later
In her bedroom, Ippan was asleep in her large bed, resting comfortably after another day of heroism. It wasn't long though as she opened her eyes at the sound of her baby crying. Sitting up with a yawn, and rubbing her eyes, she gets out of bed. Tossing the sheets aside she's revealed to be wearing a yellow transparent nightdress with her white bra and undies visible underneath.
Walking over to Izuku's crib, she gently picks him up. "Shhh...It's ok, I'm here." Ippan smiled at her son, lifting her nightdress with one arm, holding it up with her chin. Pulling down her bra, she brings her baby to her right breast, letting him latch on and drink her milk. Walking over to her bed, Ippan carefully lays on it, her child still in her arms as he continues drinking her milk. Leaning on her bed, she smiled, watching and waiting until he finished.
Later That Night
Asleep with her baby next to her, Ippan felt something rubbing her nose. Opening her eyes she saw it was Izuku, giggling and holding her nose, making her chuckle as she holds him close to her face. "Sleep, my little Izuku." She kisses his little head as he yawns and soon falls asleep in his mother's arms. With a smile, Ippan soon fell back to sleep as well.
The Next Day
In the kitchen, Ippan was making breakfast at the stove with her son on a baby rocker near the dining table where she would sit. What she was making consisted of almost everything everybody would have for breakfast, not just for herself, but for her friends as well. Speaking of which, as if on cue, the Wild Wild Pussycats entered their home with a few wounds and bruises on their exposed skin.
"Well...Despite some minor injuries, we did well." Shino grinned and gave a thumbs-up to Ryuko and Tomoko who gave one in return and closed the door from behind. That was when a delectable scent brushed their noses, catching their attention. "Is that what I think it is?" Ryuko thought out loud happily before she and her friends headed over to the kitchen.
Upon entering they saw Ippan at the stove, who looked at them and waved. "Hey, girls!" She greeted them with a smile, adding. "I made breakfast." The three looked at the stove and counter and saw she had made or was making eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, waffles, and pancakes. It was all enough to feed all of them...Well, most of them, considering Izuku's still only an infant.
"You made all this for us?" Tomoko asked in amazement, getting a nod from Ippan. "It's for letting me and my baby stay here in the meantime." She then turned off the stoves, having finished cooking. At the same time, the trio smiled at one another before Shino looked at their tall friend. "Thank you, Ippan." With that, she, Ryuko, and Tomoko got their plates that were set and began to select what to eat, along with Ippan.
It wasn't long until they started to sit at the dining table together with Izuku. While eating some of their breakfast, the Wild Wild Pussycats watched their friend's baby sleep in his rocker. "He's so adorable!" The trio thought with joy as their attention is brought to Ippan who soon broke the silence. "So...How did everything go out there?"
"Everything turned out well." Shino began, gesturing to Ryuko and Tomoko. "We made a good impression on those we saved from some Villains." This brought much curiousness to Ippan, keeping all ears as Tomoko took a bite of her toast and spoke with glee. "They kept leaving themselves open for us to wear them down."
"Some of them just never learn."
Ryuko nods to Ippan, swallowing the sliced sausage she chewed. "And when they collapsed, I kept them grounded." That wasn't figurative, she had to use her Quirk to keep the Villains down until they were taken into custody. "We also gained a few fans along the way for what we did." She added, remembering the praise and cheers they got for their heroism.
"That's marvelous!" Ippan exclaimed quietly to avoid waking her son. Hearing that her friends had earned a couple of fans too made her feel proud of them. The first steps of becoming a Hero starts off slow with minor support. But as time goes on, they will begin to reach the pinnacle as many others did in the past, straight up to the Ranks with major support.
Having finished up the conversation and finishing up breakfast, the four began wondering to themselves. The things they've accomplished, the people they have saved, and the Villains they've stopped, all in the span of a few months. How is their future going to turn out for them now that this is their beginning lives as Heroes? That thought remained somewhere in the back of their minds as they prepare for the day.
Minutes Later
Inside the living room, Ippan was making funny faces for her son who was in his crib. "Peekaboo!" She crossed her eyes with a goofy smile and her ears curled around each other, causing Izuku to laugh. With a smile, she brought her hand into the crib, careful due to her size, letting Izuku hug it tightly as he giggled. "Goo!" He let out, earning a giggle from his mom who rubbed her finger caress across his cheek. "Hm...I wonder if you'll have a Quirk like mine...A Shark with a blue hue."
"Huh?" Izuku looked back at her with slight confusion, wondering what she said while still hugging her hand. "Oh, mommy's just thinking, that's all." Said Ippan who pulled her hand away from her baby with ease before stroking his head with the palm of her hand in a soothing manner.
Later that Day
Back in the city of Musutafu, Ippan was on patrol again, wearing her Hero Costume while her friends babysit her son back home. She was currently looking around for any signs of criminal activity but saw none, just a few civilians minding their own business. As normal as this seems, something felt off. "Hm...It seems quiet...But too quiet." Ippan looked suspicious as she reached an alleyway.
"Agh!"
Surprised, Ippan turned her head to the alleyway she was about to pass. Listening closely she began to hear what sounded like struggling. Without pause or a second thought, she went in to investigate. Going into the darkness, Ippan kept her back close to the wall as possible as she reached a corner. Peaking from it she saw what the commotion was caused by. It was a group of punks, male and female, getting the upper hand on what she assumes is a Rookie-Hero.
Said Rookie looked to be near her age and almost 6 feet tall, evidently female by her feminine appearance and figure, thanks to her revealing costume. Really, her costume is an unbuttoned high-collared trench coat with only black protective plates covering her exposed breasts. Along with a utility belt that was around her hips, covering her black undies that were underneath. She also had on large angular shades, a leather dog collar, and knee-high boots with a whip in her hand.
"Sta..." A male punk paused and let out a yawn, looking slightly tired. "Stand Still!" He demanded the Hero who whipped him in the face with a look of anxiety. "Why isn't it working!?" Thought the female Hero as her Quirk was having little to no effect on most of the punks. It was making some of them weary but not enough to pass out, especially the women who look the least affected.
After kicking and whipping a few more with barely any progress, a female punk with an Elastic Arms Quirk wrapped her arms around the Rookie-Hero. "I got her! I got her!" She announced, tightening her arms around the Hero's arms and legs as her allies approach them. "Ooh, I'm gonna enjoy this!" One announces, forming a blade from one of his fingernails, causing the Rookie's eyes to widen in dread. She can see the group eying her with hunger and a grin, wanting to kill her or give in to their vile needs.
The male with the Blade Quirk approached her as she shut her eyes, believing this was it for her. Just as he was about to swing his arm, he was met with a big blue fist to the face, slamming him into the ground unconscious. This left the group, including the Rookie frozen shocked as it's revealed to be Ippan. Quickly she reels back her elbow and strikes the female punk with it, knocking her out and freeing the trapped Hero.
Snapping out of her shock, she watched Ippan take out more of the group before the rest snapped out of it too, and fought back with no success. Wasting no more time, she soon joined and helped her knock out the last that were standing. The Rookie wrapped her whip around one that was about to flee and pulled her in, delivering a heel drop right on top of her head. At the same time, Ippan grabbed two criminals that attempted to ram her with their horns before slamming them into each other.
"Aahhh-" Before the criminal giving the battle cry can impale Ippan with a spike sticking from his palm, the Rookie stopped him in time. Pulling him to the ground before giving him a stomp on his head, knocking him out cold. This lasted until every single one of them was down and out. After seeing that they'd subdued all of them, the two began to catch their breath.
The Rookie-Hero smiled. "Thanks for the...Help..." She looked at Ippan and slowed her sentence, looking astounded by her rescuer's height. Noticing this, Ippan smiled back. "You're welcome." She knew she'd get a reaction like that, but to be fair, she was surprised herself too by the female's choice of wear. Ippan then turned her attention toward the unconscious Villains around them and began picking most of them up, confusing the Rookie a little. "We should take them to the Police Force before they wake."
"Oh...Yes, we should." Said the female Hero as she wrapped her whip around the last punk before placing them over her shoulder. Walking out of the alley, she looked at Ippan. "Are you a new Hero as well?" She asked curiously, earning a nod from Ippan. "Yep!" She then held out her free hand to the Rookie-Hero. "I'm the Shark Hero: Sharkine." Looking at her giant hand, the female smiled and shook it. "R-Rated Hero: Midnight."
An Hour Later: Sundown
After putting the punks in lockup and going their separate ways to keep the city safe, Ippan came across a kid trying to get her cat down from a tree. Seeing she needed help, Ippan walked over and carefully climbed the tree to avoid scaring the cat, who she made it up to. Holding out her hand slowly, she spoke to the feline. "It's ok, you can trust me." The cat sniffed her hand before rubbing his face against it with a purr. "See? Come one, I'll take you down."
Ippan lowered her hand, to which the cat stepped onto before laying down in the palm. Seeing he was there, she carried the cat down the tree delicately until she was back on the ground. Getting on her knees, Ippan hands the cat back to his owner who hugged him with care. "Thank you so much!" Said the little girl happily before using one arm to hug the Shark Hero. "You're welcome." She patted the girl's back and tells her. "Now go on to your family and take good care of your cat."
With a nod, the little girl ran off with her cat. With a sigh, Ippan stood up and looked at her phone. "It's getting late...I need to go home now and see my baby." After placing her phone back into her pocket, Ippan started to sprint. Due to her tallness and agility, she is capable of running pretty fast on her feet. Rides, however, she doesn't really take them, her size makes it impossible for her to fit in most vehicles, but that didn't bother her.
Along the run home, Ippan can to a stop when she noticed Takoba Municipal Beach Park. "Huh..." She thought while walking toward it, looking at the clear beige sand and crystal blue water that came to view. "It's been a while since I came here." Ippan noticed that there were some people around the beach either enjoying the sunset, laying under an umbrella, or taking a dip in the water. There were even some children running around, playing together, or going back to their families.
"Maybe one day I can bring my child to the beach...Oh! I can even teach him how to swim!" Ippan thought excitedly just at how wonderful it'll be spending time with her son, and maybe even invite her best friends too to hang out and help. Unfortunately, those thoughts were cut off when she saw a Cabin Cruiser hit some rocks far from the beach before sinking into the deep below. Quickly Ippan jumped down to the sand and ran towards the water.
Meanwhile
Over at the sinking Cruiser, several of those who were outside the boat managed to find a floating item to stay above the surface. But to their horror, their friends who were inside the cabin were trapped, watching despairingly as they sunk further away from the setting sun. Suddenly the Cruiser shook, surprising the trapped teens who noticed a giant figure grasping the boat before swimming back up with it. The Cruiser soon breached the water and was pushed towards the beach, brushing the sand until the waves couldn't reach it.
Immediately, the cabin door opened up with the teens exiting the now-wrecked vessel. They were soon reunited with the rest of their friends as they were brought back to shore by the Hero who saved them, Sharkine. After some hugs and assurance of being fine, the teens praise Ippan for rescuing them. It wasn't long till she had to head back home for the day to see her friends and baby.
The Next Day: Noon
In one of the parts of Musutafu City, a spontaneous earthquake struck, leveling a large building that couldn't endure the magnitude. Despite a few causalities, some of those around and inside had survived, but alas trapped under the debris. A few nominal Heroes here did what they could to dig them out, but had no luck getting through the stone and steel. But to their luck, Sharkine was close to the area and had run into the large heap. Using both her strength and jaws, she separated large walls of rubble and chewed holes through steel reinforcement to free those trapped.
While picking up those that were within her reach, Ippan let those who were aiding before her arrival go in and save the rest. If she moved or broke any more debris it could become unstable and be very fatal. After those alive but injured were saved, they along with the citizens applauded the Heroes. But most of the applause went toward the Shark Hero from both civilians and much to her surprise, the other Heroes too.
Nighttime
At a Jewelry Store in the center of the city itself, a bulky thief was inside at the back of the store. He was using his Drill Quirk from his nose and fingers to breach the lock of the safe to get the real jewels, due to the ones on display being replicas. "Come on-come on-come on!" The crook muttered with a grin, seeing the lock starting to glow and soften. "Stop thief!" The sudden shout from behind broke the crooks' train of thought, ceasing his drills.
Redirecting in aggravation he spotted Sharkine, walking in from the door he broke through. The thief's Drills started to spin rapidly. "Nobody tells me to stop!" Face and hands first, he ran toward the Hero who stood there and shook her head with disapproval, knowing the outcome of this. When the thief made it within her range, she reeled her fist back and threw a punch at him as it made contact with his Drills.
Suddenly the thief is shown unconscious on a gurney with a black eye and his nose chipped and broken. He tripped an alarm after kicking open the door. "He should've stopped." Said an Officer with a shrug, earning a nod from his partner and Ippan as they watched the thief being lifted into the ambulance.
A Week Later: The Quirk Training Camp
Walking back inside the house, Ippan reached for her blue visor and detached it from her headband before wiping a bit of sweat from her forehead. Looking into the living room, she saw the Wild Wild Pussycats on the couch, watching a cartoon with her son, who was held by Shino. Happy about what she sees, Ippan entered the living room and waved to her best friends.
"Hey, girls." Greeted Ippan before carefully sitting in a big space on the couch with them, gently getting her baby from Shino. She then kissed her son on the cheek. "Did you miss Mommy?" She asked, earning a giggle from Izuku who looked back at the cartoons on the TV. Looking away from the TV, Tomoko noticed a dark shade under Ippan's eyes and began looking worried. "Ippan, you look tired."
Tomoko's words got the attention of her two friends who noticed this as well. Ippan looked like she was a minute away from falling asleep. "Maybe you should go and rest. We can continue watching Izuku for you." Suggested Tomoko who received a nod from Ryuko who grinned. "Yeah, plus after all the hero work you did, you're becoming very popular." Hearing that, Ippan gasped in surprise.
"I am?"
The trio nodded simultaneously. "Yeah, I mean look." Shino took out her phone, turning it on before showing her tall friend a news article, showing a video of her heroism. It showed her taking down villains like the three criminals robbing the bank, which was her first debut. The next showing was of her saving people like the teens in the Cruiser which she brought up from the water and to shore. And lastly, her helping take some of the unconscious villains to the Police Force, one of which showed her walking side-by-side with Midnight.
When the recordings of her bravery were shown, it cut to people who were interviewed about her. "Sir? What do you think about the Shark Hero, Sharkine?" Asked the reporter, which the pedestrian with an arm cast in question answered. "I think she's amazing!" He gave a grin, showing his approval for the new Hero. It then cut to a teenager with a drink and shades who was asked a similar question. "Sharkine? She rescued my friends and me from drowning. She's exactly the Hero we need." Next was a woman with bear ears who couldn't help but smile when she heard Ippan's Hero name.
"She's just the right Hero! And I hope to see her again, she saved my daughter's life!"
As many more are shown saying great things about her, she began to smile wide with tears forming in her eyes. Seeing this, Ryuko happily tells Ippan. "At this rate, you'll make it up to the top of Pro Heroes in no time!" This left Ippan to wonder in amazement. "Ooo..." She abruptly shook it off and looked at her friend as her baby sits on her lap, giggling at another cartoon. "W-Wait, what about you, Shino, and Tomoko? How did you do?" Shino gave a shrug. "Eh...Not that good..." She then gave a smile and shook her head. "But that doesn't matter. We're a team. If we continue to work together, coming up with better advantages to take down criminals and save people, we'll do just as great as other Heroes."
"Oh...Ok." Ippan had visible guilt in her tone due to getting more popularity than her friends. Noticing this, Tomoko cheers her up. "Hey, don't be like that...We're happy that you're becoming popular! Right girls?" Ryuko and Shino nodded and agreed with her, making Ippan smile a little before she let out a yawn. Seeing this, Tomoko picked up Izuku with care and places him on her lap. "Now go and rest up! You'll need the energy if you want to spend time with Izuku tomorrow."
Listening to her friend, Ippan agrees. "Ooo-kay..." She managed to answer, feeling so sleepy as she got up from the couch slowly and walked towards the sliding doors in the back. Opening the sliding door she walked out onto the backyard patio and shut the sliding door before going over to the large pool. Removing her gloves and flippers, she slid her fingers under the shoulder straps of her Hero Costume.
Pulling the straps down she freed her breasts and soon pulled her leotard/swimsuit down until it dropped to her feet. Now nude she walked toward the pool steps and into the water. Feeling the pool floor, she sat down and lays on her back, submerging herself underwater, breathing normally due to her Quirk. Slowly closing her eyes she sighed happily, falling into a deep sleep thanks to the water helping her relax, it was even healing her as she slept.
Later in the Morning
With sunlight shining over the water's surface, Ippan let out a yawn as her eyes fluttered open. "Morning already?" She thought before lifting herself from the bottom of the pool. Swimming back up, she emerges from the water and uses the steps and rails to get out. Once on the dry concrete, she stood there in all her glory as droplets of water traveled down her smooth skin. Quickly she grabbed her now-dried Hero Costume and slips it back on.
Picking up her dry gloves and flippers, she then ran back inside the house and up to her bedroom. In the privacy of her room, Ippan went into the bathroom, removed her costume, and turns on the shower. Having made sure the water was perfect, she walked right in and began to clean herself from her hair to her body. When that was over, Ippan turned off the water, dried herself off with a towel, and went back into her room to put on some fresh clothes for the day.
Minutes Later
Walking back downstairs dressed in her usual attire, she spotted her baby in the living room with his aunts who were in their Hero Costumes. The three were currently playing with Izuku who smiled at them, much to their delight. Glancing up for a moment, Tomoko soon looked up again to see Ippan. "Oh hey, you're finally awake!" She greeted her with a grin as the other two took notice of their tall friend as well. "Don't worry, we fed Izuku and left you breakfast on the table."
Ippan looked over at the dining table and saw a nice stack of freshly baked waffles on the plate with maple syrup on the side. "Aww...You shouldn't have." She looked at her friends with appreciation as they started to get up and walk to the door with Ryuko looking back at her. "We insisted. Besides, you're a part of us like a family." This made Ippan blush a little as Shino informs her. "We'll be back soon. Musutafu needs our watch. Bye!"
With that, the Wild Wild Pussycats left the house and the Quirk Training Camp, leaving Ippan alone with her baby. Walking over to her son, she gets on her knees and holds him in her arms, giving him a kiss on the forehead. "Did you behave yourself?" She asked cheerfully, earning a confused look from Izuku, making her giggle. "I'll take that as a yes." Standing back up she heads over to the dining table and sits Izuku in his baby rocker, adjusting him, making sure he was cozy.
"There. Now-"
Ippan paused as her phone started to ring in her pocket. Knowing this might be important, she took out her phone and answered the caller. "Hello?" She listened in as the person on the other line responds with a question. "Yes, this is Sharkine..." She listened as the caller speaks to her. "Wait...What? ...Ooh..." Feeling she would need to write this down, Ippan walked over to a desk and grabs a pen and paper. As she wrote down on the paper, listening and talking to the caller, her son looked at her.
Seeing she wasn't paying attention, the boy looked at the sliding door and saw it was open. Curious to explore, Izuku slowly got off of the rocker he was in until he was on his hands and knees. Crawling away from it he soon made it over to the opened backdoor. "Ooo..." Was all he could let out in amazement, seeing the large pool past the concrete. With a wide smile, he crawled faster right toward the pool. At the same time, his mom was finishing up on the phone.
"Ok, thank you so much! ...Ok bye." Ippan soon hangs up and sighs. "They want me to visit the family I saved..." She soon gave a smile and turns, walking over to the baby rocker. "Ok Izuku, let's...Go...?" She paused seeing that the rocker was empty and her baby was gone. "Izuku!?" Shouting in panic, Ippan looked around quickly and began to look around and underneath the furniture, even lifting up the couch with one hand.
"Izuku, where are you?!" She called desperately until she heard a splash, making her ears twitch. Turning she looked and saw that the sliding door was open wide. "Izuku No!" Ippan shouted, running outside to the back before looking at the pool, letting out a gasp when she saw her baby at the deep end. Immediately she jumped into the water, drenching her clothes, and swimming down toward him before picking him up. Swimming back to the surface and getting out of the pool, Ippan looks at her son with worry.
"Izuku baby are you..." Her voice died down, left shocked as her baby was laughing and giggling, clapping his hands together. Izuku didn't drown, he wasn't even coughing or breathing heavily. "H-How?" Thought Ippan, looking at her son before hugging him closely and lightly. Her clothes were all wet, but she didn't care, all she cared about was the safety of her baby. "Don't, ever do that again!" Ippan sobbed with Izuku only staring at her perplexed while chewing a part of her soaked red shirt.
After hugging, Ippan began to look at her son. "Is...Is he really ok?" She thought to herself concerningly, becoming a bit more alarmed thinking Izuku may have water in his lungs. Not wanting to wait and find out herself, she decided to take him to the hospital. Going to the front of the house, Ippan brought her son to her SUV, a car made for her size, believing it'd be safer for her son to travel in.
Getting inside the driver's side, Ippan placed her son in the back into his child safety seat. "Don't worry Izuku, everything will be ok." She informed her baby who looked around in wonder as he was strapped in. After making sure he was secured, Ippan started her SUV and began to drive toward the nearest hospital.
During the drive, she soon came to a stop at a red light. She wanted to drive through it but knew it would cause more problems if she did so. Seeing this is the perfect time to check Izuku in the meantime, Ippan looked back at him. "Are you ok, Izuku?" She questioned worriedly, receiving a giggle from her baby who was earlier looking out the windows at the areas they passed. Ippan kept her eyes on her kid a little longer, making sure he was not showing any signs of distress or discomfort.
"Maybe he is ok..." Ippan thought, calming down, seeing Izuku is completely fine, but still, she wants to take him to the hospital. Despite being fine, it was still odd that he didn't cry or cough up when she got him out of the pool. Looking forward she saw the light above turn green again, allowing her to drive forward.
A Few Minutes Later
In one of the examination rooms of the hospital, Ippan was inside, holding her baby and talking to the doctor who was available. She was explaining why she came here with her son, about the event that had occurred nearly a half-hour ago. The doctor himself nods, listening to her as she finishes up. "After I got him out of the pool, he didn't cry, cough, or wheeze. He just...laughed. It's like he wasn't underwater at all." She looked at her son who was harmlessly gnawing his hand with his gums.
"Interesting..." Said the doctor, writing on his clipboard before clearing his throat. "Though your son is almost a year old Ms. Midoriya, from what you've described, it seems he might just be going through a natural evolution. A rare but common effect in those born from a family whose ancestry stems from a Mutant Quirk." He explained, earning blinks from both Midoriya's.
"Is there an example?"
Ippan received a nod from the doc who gave that example. "Say there's a family that has the appearance of goats from their Quirks since the beginning. They have an infant who doesn't have the features of a goat. However, despite looking normal, the infant is capable of climbing very steep angles with little to no problem." Having provided the example the doctor tells the mother. "That's a natural evolution."
She nods, getting what it is as the doctor soon gets up from his seat and gestures to the door. "Now if you can follow me to the Quirk Examination Sector we can see if this is the case with your son." Getting up from her chair, still holding her son, Ippan exits the room with the doctor and follows him to the said area in the hospital.
Minutes Later
In the part of the hospital known to be the Quirk Examination Sector or Q.E.S., Ippan, Izuku, and the doctor, are in a big room with a pool. This was for those whose abilities may work greater in water than on land. The three stood near the steps leading into the pool with a nurse with a Mermaid Quirk already in the water with the things needed for this situation. Seeing they have what's needed, the doctor turned his attention to Ippan who held her son who was only wearing swim trunks. "Now if you can hand Izuku to the nurse, we can proceed with this test."
"Please be careful." Asked Ippan, holding her baby close with concern, concerned and afraid Izuku might drown this time. "It's ok, you can trust me." Said the nurse with assurance in her tone. "I've held others from before with care, including my own. Your son will be safe with me." Trusting her, Ippan carefully handed the nurse her son, who held him with respect.
With Izuku in her arms, the nurse slowly submerged in the pool, making Ippan and the doctor turn to the screen on the wall nearest to them. Thanks to a waterproof camera in the pool, the two can watch what goes on, and to their surprise, Izuku was breathing in the water just fine. Ippan sighed with ease at this while the doctor wrote it down in his notes.
Seeing the baby breathing underwater, the nurse began a check-up on him. Putting on her stethoscope, she applied the diaphragm to Izuku's chest and back, checking both his heartbeat and breathing. The nurse listened closely before giving a hum. "Heart rate and lung capacity are completely normal." She spoke through a waterproof earpiece to the doctor before removing her stethoscope.
Grabbing an endoscope from the silver tray and turning on the small light the nurse opens Izuku's mouth gently. Aiming the nozzle, she looks at his tongue and down his throat before checking his nasal cavities and then his ears on both sides. "No signs of water compression and he seems to smell and hear fairly well." The nurse announced to Ippan and the doctor while placing the endoscope aside.
"Now for reflexes." Now holding a reflex hammer, the nurse taps it against one of Izuku's knees, making it jolt in response, which the baby looked at in confusion. "Good. Last but not least, movement." Setting the reflex hammer back, she set the baby on his hands and knees and simply watched. It took a few seconds for Izuku to start crawling. Surprisingly, it was the same pace as it is out of the water.
"I think that's about it." Announced the doctor to Ippan, who is now holding a towel, before pressing a button on the mic in front of the screen. "Ok, bring him back up." Following the request, the nurse picks up Izuku and brings him back to the surface toward the mother and the doctor. Ippan reaches and kindly picks up her son from the woman's hands, wrapping him with the towel and drying him off. At the same time, the doc reread the notes he wrote down on Izuku's capability while he was submerged in water.
"So how is he?"
The doctor looked at Ippan. "Well, Izuku is as normal in the water as he is on land." He began, facing the mother who dried her son. "Thanks to the generations of Shark Quirks in your family his respiratory system adapted. The water is practically inhabitable enough for him to be in." He soon started scratching the back of his head. "But as predicted earlier, it's only a rare natural effect, not a Quirk."
Having heard this, Ippan felt somewhat relieved and surprised at the same time by the results. Her son's respiratory system is adjusted so he can breathe in water now, however, it's been confirmed that it wasn't caused by his Quirk. As concerning as this would've been for Ippan, she didn't let it get to her that easily, Izuku is only a baby that's not even 5 years old yet. Looking at the doctor and nurse, Ippan smiled. "Thank you both."
"You're welcome. And please, feel free to come back if anything else happens." Suggested the doctor as Ippan heads over to a nearby changing room. Inside she shut the door from behind and begins changing her baby back into his now-dry clothes before leaving.
One Hour Later: The Quirk Training Camp
Back inside the house in her room, Ippan laid Izuku in his crib, looking down at him as he was asleep. It has been only an hour since she came back to the house, yet she couldn't stop thinking about the results. Her only child has the ability to breathe underwater, but...Does that mean he also has tough skin too?
Curious, Ippan looked down at her son's small legs and lightly touches his left one with her fingertips, feeling both softness and hardness. "So...He does have tough skin..." Ippan thought, reeling her arm back slowly while looking up at Izuku, seeing his adorable face as he slept. With a smile, she slowly lean down in the crib and tenderly kissed his head. "I love you, sweetie...Sleep tight." Whispered Ippan happily as she went to the living room to let her son sleep peacefully. At the same time, she made sure to close and lock the back door, wanting to avoid having her son get out again.
