Marinette was trying to be as stealthy as a cat. That was easy to do, as Cat was her best friend. She was trying to sneak past her mother in the kitchen for Marinette had homework and that wasn't even the worst of it. It was math homework. Why couldn't have been some fun homework like art, her favorite subject?

She tiptoed on to the front stairs, a smile on her face. She was home…. "Marinette?" Darn that first steps squeaking and giving her away. She sighed, trudging into the kitchen. "Yes, Mama?" "Any homework tonight?" Nothing got past her mother. Sabine sipped her tea as she waited for her daughter's response, though she was pretty sure she already knew the answer. "Yes. Why did it have to be math though?"

Sabine smiled gently, standing up and stroking her one her daughter's pigtails. Marinette relaxed slightly under her mother's gentle touch. "Think of it this way, love. Sewing is all about measurements and measurements mean math." "I didn't think about it that way. Okay, I'll give it a try." "There's my girl. Chicken fried rice tonight."

At least she could look forward to her favorite meal. She wasn't at all surprised to see Cat stretching on her pink shag rag, his needle sharp claws going in and out. "Hey, Princess," Cat said, plopping down on the rug finding a comfy position. He was ready to nap, Marinette thought. His green eyes were already closing. Hm. Cat was good at math, maybe he could help!

Marinette dug her worksheets out of her bag. "Hey, Cat, do you know how to…." she checked the sheet a second time. "Long division?" A soft snore coming from the rug and Tikki putting a finger to lips wasn't the answer she was looking for.

But he did look cute, snoring and snuffling away on the rug. Drapping a blanket over him, Marinette leaned against him, her favorite pink blanket wrapped around her shoulders. It still looked like a foreign language. Behind her Cat's feet paddled as if he was chasing a mouse. "I know nothing. I'm so screwed." The purring started up behind her. "Your no help." she said, but then leaned forward to give him a kiss, then settled back.

It would be Miraculous if she could figure her math homework out!
