"Marinette, can we play a game?" Marinette swung around her computer chair to see Cat holding a game of Monopoly. "Is that?" Marinette stood up and walked over to Cat. "They made a Ladybug and Cat Noir edition! What will they think of next?" "So, is that a yes?" Cat rattled the box around. "Okay."
"Great! Your parents are downstairs waiting." Cat trotted down the stairs a big smile on his face, while Marinette followed him more slowly, chewing on her lip. She could get competitive and so could her father and she didn't want to scare Cat away.
"Glad to have you join us, sweetie!" Her father got up and gave her a hug. "Papa, don't you have cinnamon rolls to bake in the morning? Or Mama, didn't you say you needed more paint for your art class?" "Come on, sweetie, that can wait. Cat can't be here all the time, and he's practically family." "Aww, I love you too," Cat said, helping himself to a cracker on the snack plate.
It didn't take Marinette long to feel the competitor in her rise. "There is no way I'm selling Broadway to you! You'd just turn it into a catwalk!" Marinette glared at Cat sometime later. "Can't you sell it to me out of friendship! I'll even throw in an ice cream cart!"
Cat's eyes were big and, oh! Why did he have to look so cute? She must resist the charm! "There are no friends in Monopoly!" She threw down her pieces and stomped out of the room.
Cat's ears and tail drooped as he watched Marinette leave. "No worries. She calm down soon."
Marinette grumbled to herself as she sat back at her desk. Awhile later, she heard the trapdoor swing open. "Papa won. You still upset?" he asked, cocking his head and blinking cutely. Oh, how she could stay mad at that cute face? "No. but I would be willing to give you Broadway if you give me something in return." "What?" "You doing the catwalk right here in my room!"
Cat grinned wickedly. "Princess, I'd thought you'd never ask!" Cat sashayed down the length of her room, sending her into a fit of giggles. "Thanks, Cat. I needed to smile." Cat walked over, planting a kiss on her lips. "Then I've won for seeing you happy is the best prize of all."
