Chapter 2
The wolf watched her behind a bush, looks like i'm lucky today, it seems I have found my next
meal, he thought hungrily. This wolf wasn't really a normal wolf, more like a person with ears, a
tail, and large furry claws. Honestly he was a monster, a beast. Born under a full blood
Moon, his parents terrified of his furry appearance when he was born, he was taken to a forest
and left behind. He doesn't remember much, and over the years he relied more on his wolf like
instincts to hunt down and eat prey. He watched her finally get up off the rock and put her apple
in her bag, brushing off her skirt and standing up. She notices a flower growing out of the
ground and walks over to inspect it. The flower was a pale indigo color and quite lovely, she
bends down and picks it. She lifted the flower to her nose and breathed in its sweet fragrance.
While she is…uh…sniffing the flower, the wolf creeps behind her. She puts the flower
behind her ear, suddenly something grabs her shoulder firmly. She freezes but then turns
around, the hold on her shoulder was no longer present and nobody was standing behind her.
"Huh." Ari says confused. She sees a huge shadow in front of her and realizes that was not her
shadow but something bigger, she turns around slowly and looks up. The huge wolf man stared
down at her in an intimidating way, growling and showing his fangs. She gazed up at him in awe
and pure amazement, in fact she didn't feel frightened at all. Honestly Ari thought he looked
cool. "Hello, tiny…strange looking human. you know, I've never seen a human like you before, I
wonder what you taste like." He said, flicking his tail. He suddenly grabbed her and pinned her
against a tree. "Have any last wishes, before I…y'know…eat you?" She stayed silent and
looked down. "Yes…I have a wish…" She said. He grinned maliciously, "Well let's hear it then,
what do you wish for? You want me to spare you?" He says mockingly, "That's what they all say,
Oh please spare me, don't eat me, please!" He laughed. "It's quite funny to listen to their begs
for mercy, before I tear them to shreds and chew on them."She glared up at him, "Could you
shut up, I'm not finished." He stopped, sort of impressed by her boldness. "You want to know
what I wish for, I wish for a friend." She said while tears welled up in her eyes, "Go ahead, end
me, It's not like anyone would really care anyway." The wolf guy was taken aback. This girl was
different, he could tell, inside and out. He loosened the grip on her shoulder. "A friend?" He said
curiously. She looked at him and nodded, "I traveled all the way from my village to here to find a
friend." He stared at her for a moment, "You…want…a…friend." He took his hand off her
shoulder, letting his ears down in sympathy. "Fine…I'll grant your wish." He said turning away
and looking behind, "I'll be your friend."
