Three weeks later, Hiccup woke.
Toothless sense Hiccup was waking up and licked him in happiness.
He jumped around like an excited puppy.
Hiccup panics "Toothless? We're in my house on Berk. Does my dad know?"
Toothless stood by him.
Hiccup pulled the blanket back to see a his left leg in a cast.
He grabs crutches next to the bed.
They walk out of the Haddock house and down the hill slowly.
A villager yells "HEY! IT'S HICCUP! HE'S AWAKE!"
Villagers gathered around him.
Hiccup ask "why are you all here to see me?"
Stoick comments "I read your letter and your dragon showed me your dragon that you killed.
Hiccup sighs "after this cast comes off, I'm leaving for a while."
Stoick ask "why son? The council granted you full pardon for training a dragon and the arena dragons saved you."
Hiccup shakes his head "I'm sorry, but everyone wanted me thrown into the sea as a baby."
Stoick sighs.
Hiccup comments "the teens don't even like me or want me around either. I want to go see the dragons in the arena alone."
Toothless picks him up and carries him through the village to the arena.
Once they arrive at the arena, Toothless set Hiccup down.
The Deadly Nadder approach them and licked Hiccup.
Hiccup ask "you saved me after I hit the tail?"
The Nadder nodded her head and chirped.
Hiccup hugs her "thank you for saving me."
(With Stoick)
Stoick sat down with Gobber in the forge.
Gobber ask "I take it Hiccup is rejecting the welcome back home?"
Stoick bows his head "I don't know what happened to him, for him to turn away from me."
Gobber comments "he was depressed for fifteen years of not being wanted by anyone. His friends dumped him. He had no one to care about him. Tuffnut commented that he didn't get eaten by the Gronckle on the first day of dragon training."
Stoick widen his eyes "Tuffnut said what?!"
Gobber answers "he has no one to call family."
They hurry to the arena to see Hiccup petting the dragons.
Stoick ask "son?"
Hiccup turned around to see his father and Gobber and sighs.
Stoick ask "do you believe that you have no family?"
Hiccup answers "yes. For fifteen years, I felt that I didn't have a home or family. After I befriended Toothless, I found someone who accepted me for me. I think my family is the dragons now. I need time to forgive you all."
A voice interrupts them "Hiccup?"
Stoick and Gobber turned around to see Astrid standing there.
Hiccup stood there wondering what she was going to do.
Astrid walked upto Hiccup and says "I seen your pictures of me and read your feelings about me and I have to ask one question. Did you really kill a giant dragon?"
Hiccup answers "yes. Is that what your interested in?"
Astrid shakes her head "no" and punches him in his shoulder and scowls "that was for scaring me after finding out you were in love with me."
Hiccup comments "join the club."
Astrid rolls her eyes and grabs his collar and kisses his lips.
After the kiss, Astrid smiles "consider that return feelings and that I'm impressed that you trained dragons. I also want to be called your friend."
Hiccup answers "I need time to forgive everyone for making me feel unwanted for fifteen years."
Astrid comments "while you was in a coma I read your diary at your bedside."
Hiccup rested for a day and then hang out with Astrid when she can.
He taught the teens how to train their own dragon.
Gobber rebuild Toothless's prosthetic tail fin which was Red with the Berk crest on it.
Hiccup comments "it was red."
Three weeks past since Hiccup ended the dragon raids.
Hiccup work on making a dragon sword.
Fishlegs and Hiccup discovered Gronckle Iron and stronger than steel.
Hiccup use Zippleback gas to contain it in containers and make it a weapon against enemies in close quarters.
Once Hiccup got his cast off.
Astrid stop by to see Hiccup's house and ask "are you really going to leave me for a while?"
Hiccup comments "not long, but I need time to forgive."
Astrid comments "promise me you won't stay gone for ten years?"
Hiccup kisses her cheek "that would be too long without seeing you."
Astrid ask "so why are you leaving for?"
Hiccup answers "I felt unwanted for fifteen years and now all of a sudden, everyone wants me because I killed a hundred foot tall dragon. I promise, I'll come back one day."
Astrid comments "you better come back to marry me or I'll make you pay, if I get force me to marry your idiot cousin."
Hiccup kisses her cheek "goodbye, Astrid."
He leaves to go pack a sack and climb on Toothless's saddle and leave head east.
A half an hour later, Hiccup comments "okay, Toothless. Now that I left the horrible place because I know my dad wanted to reject me as his son because I trained you in secret. I would be forced to leave for five years.
So, we head to Japan to learn fighting with sword.

A week later, he reached a city of Japan.
Hiccup and Toothless land.
A man ask them "can I help you with something?"
Hiccup answers "yes, I would like to learn sword fighting."
The man ask "where are you from?"
Hiccup answers "from a viking village."
The man comments "I'm Kenji and welcome to the village of Shanghai. Please follow me."
Hiccup and Toothless follows Kenji inside the temple.
Kenji brought Hiccup and Toothless to quarter room for guest and says "wait here until I return with Emperor Kiyoshi and his wife, Akane."
An hour later, Kiyoshi slides the door opened and says "Kenji told me that you came here to learn sword fighting."
Hiccup nods his head "yes, Emperor Kiyoshi."
