In The Weight of Eternity Steven Universe, now Nearly 2 centuries old, struggles with the weight of his immortality and the loss of his loved ones. Seeking closure, he returns to the mysterious room of his mother, Rose Quartz, As he vents his frustrations at the nearly vacant space, devoid of other people around him.

2. Chapter 1 - The Room

Chapter 1 - The Room

INT. BEACH TEMPLE - DAY

The Beach City Temple Warp pad hums to life, and Steven Universe emerges with a tearful, angry expression, catching Pearl off guard mid-stride. She quickly composes herself and greets him

PEARL

(smiling awkwardly)

Oh, Steven! I was just about to visit. How is Catalina doing?

STEVEN

(angry, sarcastic)

What do you think, Pearl? She was 112 years old!

Ignoring Pearl's concern, Steven quickly uses his gem to enter his mother's cloudy ethereal room.

PEARL

(concerned, reaching out to him)

Steven! Before you go, let's talk. Now is not the right time to spend time alone in Rose's room. We are here for...

Steven closes the door before Pearl can finish her sentence, leaving her feeling helpless.

INT. ROSE'S ROOM - DAY

Inside the room, a serene atmosphere surrounds Steven. He takes a deep breath, trying to clear his mind. He recalls a dream he had after his father's death and focuses on the memory.

As Steven concentrates, the room changes. A stone table with smashed Gem tech appears, remnants of an experiment long past. Next to it, a floating bubbled cylinder with markings from a long-defunct fertility clinic from nearby Ocean City. On the right side of the table, there is a pillar with a hastily placed crystal, not placed on its proper mounting. The crystal seems to contain great power, its light flickering and shifting.

Steven slowly walks towards the table, examining the familiar artifacts. He sits down, leaning his back against the pillar.

STEVEN

(to himself, hesitant)

Am I really going to do this?
