Chapter Two
Mission Begins
"Nelsha...Nelsha. Can you hear me!?" Vi yelled as the lesser fellpool let out a groggy grunt. She grimaced from the pain she felt throughout her body as she slowly began to open her eyes. The moment her eyes opened, she found herself in what appeared to be some kind of large room with large cylindrical test tubes standing with something inside them. "Oh thank god, you're alive. How are you feeling?"
"Like I just got thrown around like a ragdoll." She answered before pulling herself up but winced from the pain she felt in her body. "Vi. Status report please?"
"Ship is in…moderately perfect condition."
"What do you mean by that?"
"For some reason, the symbology runes on the warp core are...well gone," Vi said before pulling a digital screen of the warp core to the warp engine. "This might be due to the wormhole we went through that might be the cause of it."
"So you're telling me that we won't be able to use the warp engine to get back home?"
"It's not impossible to get home. There are a few options that we can do to get back into the kappa section."
"Name them please," Nelsha said before slowly beginning to make her way through the room she was in carefully. "And also do a scan on me to see if I have anything broken."
"Option one, we fix the core ourselves by manually replacing the lost space-time symbology runes. Option two, we activate a distress signal by sending a probe into orbit around the nearest planet and praying that someone from Kronos gets the signal. Option three, we travel through space in hopes of finding the same wormhole."
"Let's go with option two for the time being. Can't go wandering off into a section of space that we have no idea of where to go." She said before reaching into her pocket to pull out a flashlight.
"Acknowledged," Vi said before taking control of the ship and began to fly through space. "Also I've finished scanning your vitals. So far, other than a few bruises. You're okay with not having any broken bones or internal organ damage."
"Well, that's good to hear. Mind telling me where I am?"
"Currently you're in an underground facility. I guess that you were teleported there due to the wormhole we went through."
"And where is the ship?"
"In space, specifically the ship is currently on the darker side of the moon. I figure it would be a safe place for the ship to be located in case I need to teleport you out of a sticky situation."
"Smart move on your part VI. Think you can scan the planet I'm on so that I know what I'm dealing with?"
"I'll have to send a probe to a nearby satellite that I'm picking up on my scanners. It'll take me a while before I can transfer the information to you. For now, try to explore the place you're in and see if you can gather intel."
"Great, I'm stuck in an unknown facility on an unknown planet," Nelsha said sarcastically before searching her body. "Please tell me you can teleport my gear to me?"
"Sadly I can't. The place you're in is causing interference. Should I teleport your weapons there, then they won't land or appear at your location."
"Dammit, the one time I chose not to keep some kind of weapon on me." She said before feeling something underneath the cloth part that was tied around her waist. Reaching underneath, she pulls out a small saber dripping with a purple liquid substance. "A saber, my symbology magic, and an AI…Not the best situation to be in right now."
"Understandable. I'll see what I can do on my end once I'm done probing for information. Till then, try not to get yourself into too much trouble."
"When have I even gotten myself into too much trouble?" She asked as there was a long pause in the conversation. "Hey, I asked you a question."
"Sorry….connection…trouble hearing….stay safe….radio silence," Vi said before cutting off the conversation.
"...Oh I am going to mess around with his settings when I get back onto the ship." She said before returning her focus to the room she was in. "For now, better find a door to this room." While flashing her flashlight around, she noticed that the tubes had something inside them. The lesser fellpool decided to take a closer look at it to see what was inside it. All she could make out was a wavy blob that shimmered against the light. Before she could ask herself what was inside it, her ears twitched upon hearing the sound of a door opening. The lesser fellpool quickly turned the flashlight off and quickly pressed a button on her gauntlet to make herself invisible.
"Bring the girl in with the rest of them." said an old man's voice as Nelsha carefully made her way over to where the voice came from. Once she was near where the sound came from, she noticed that there was a bald elderly man in a lab coat, a naked dark purplish humanoid with no face but had a brain showing, and a tired-looking girl with dark-green hair. "I must say, you are a rather tenacious girl. Breaking out of your cell, knocking out two of the guards, and headbutting All for One. I can see why he finds you interesting."
All the girl could do was glare at the elderly man as she tried to speak, but couldn't. Given how Nelsha could tell that the girl was covered in surgical scars, blast burns, and lord knows what else. The elderly man chuckled at her attempts to speak before noticing someone was walking over to them. Nelsha turns her attention to the newcomer; she notices that it was a man with no face, but a mouth and was wearing a suit like he was someone from a business.
"Tenacious but also dangerous. Which is why you'll make her into a nomu. Quirkless people are rare to find. Even rarer if they can survive the training we put them through to become nomus." All for One said as he placed a hand on the girl's face. "You're going to go far with us little girl. Well for as long as you're needed," he said before moving away from the girl and turning his attention to the scientist. "How long before the process is complete?"
"Within a month or two. I still need to augment her body with the body to support multiple quirks." He said before ordering Nomu to place the girl into a test tube. Once she was inside, he walked over to the control pads and started pressing some buttons on them. Once he was done, the tube started filling up with an aqua-green color liquid and the girl soon started to float in it.
"We'll use her as a test subject to fight against All Might when the time is right." All for One said before walking off. "She'll be a gift for Tomura to use."
"Are you sure it is wise to do that? Your successor is a bit of a spoiled brat." The elderly man said as he and the nomu followed after him.
"True, but this will be a learning curve for him. Win or lose, he will be the tool I need to bring down All Might and the rest of this hero society."
"And what if he chooses not to go along with your plan?"
"He will, especially given how I taught him about the world and its heroes." He said as Nelsha watched them leave the room. Once they had left, the lesser fellpool made herself visible as she made her way over to where the girl was.
"Vi, were you able to hear the conversation that was going on?"
"Indeed. From what I was able to gather thanks to the augmentations I made on the satellite I hijacked, this planet is similar to that of the Earth in the year 20XX."
"Crap, are we in the past?"
"Not to my knowledge. I can only assume that we were warped to an unknown section of space that hasn't been discovered yet by anyone."
"You sure no one from the PGF found this place?"
"After scanning the earth multiple times…no," Vi said as Nelsha grins.
"Ha! Kronos once again achieved something better than those nerds from the P.G.F couldn't do!"
"It would be a nice achievement for Kronos if you can get in contact with them."
"Right…crap." She said before turning her attention to the girl. "Can you pick up any information on this girl?"
"Mind raising your gauntlet to her?" VI asked as the lesser fellpool did as requested. The moment she did that, Vi began to scan the girl for a moment before speaking. "Izumi Midoriya, age 17. Born and raised in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Daughter of Inko and Hisashi Midoriya. Birthday, July 15, 20XX. Reports say she's on the missing people list due to her disappearance two years ago along with a few other people during the past couple of months."
"Hm, interesting." She said before looking over at the control pad. "Is there anything you can tell me about the world I'm in?"
"It's basically like a comic world. Heroes vs Villains kind of deal as you were to say." The AI said before bringing up digital schematics of the facility she was in. "And you're smack dab in the middle of a villain's headquarters."
"Wonderful," Nelsha said in a sarcastic tone. "And who might this villain be that owns this place?"
"On this planet, is it a dangerous villain known as All for One. There's not that much information on this person from this satellite. Perhaps if I were to access a terminal, then maybe I can gather more information for you."
"Would the control pad that I'm standing in front of count as a terminal?" She asked before raising her hand at the pad as Vi scanned it.
"Sadly no, but I can use it to get information from where you are in said facility." He said as Nelsha noticed the port off to the side of it and plugged a finger into it. Once entered, the control pad lit up a bit as information from it started to enter into the gauntlet, then to the ship. "Hm, interesting."
"What did you get?"
"It would seem that they're making artificial soldiers that hold multiple powers that they call, quirks."
"Quirks? Who the idiot that thought of calling something like that quirks?"
"Different planet, different way of life and rules. We can't judge them for thinking of something like that."
"Well I can, and it hasn't stopped me from judging people, but continue with what you're about to say."
"Right, they're planning on making artificial soldiers that hold multiple quirks, or powers if you need a better understanding. Not a bad idea, but not a good idea to use people that are still alive."
"...Explain please?" She asked as Vi brought up a digital screen showing a normal male human and the process of being turned into a Nomu.
"Well from what I was able to look up, they select people with interesting quirks. Like for example if this person had a quirk that allows them to bend the laws of reality or produce laser beams. They would sometimes kill the person, bring the body here, and make them into a Nomu as they call it. But seeing how they can't augment the person's strength while they're dead due to a lack of equipment to keep the cells alive, they started doing the augmentation when they're alive. Though the process takes longer depending on the person's health."
"And given how this girl is in this place, she's a poor victim along with the others in this room."
"Correct. But unlike the others, this one is still alive." He said before showing a screen with the girl's vitals on it. "Though it seems that she's not going to last long given the state she's in."
"Hm, think you can do something about it?"
"I can release her from her chamber, but you'll have to heal her with your symbology."
"Do it." She ordered as the liquid in the tube slowly began to drain. Once the liquid was drained, the door slowly opened and Izumi flops out of it. Before her body hit the ground, the lesser fellpool quickly unplugged her finger from the control pad, caught the girl before she hit the ground, and carefully placed her on the floor. "How bad is her body?"
"Hairline fractures in her arms and legs, left eye socket broken, muscle tears in her chest and thighs. I could go on, but right now you need to heal her." Vi said as Nelsha extended a hand toward her. Upon doing that, a symbolic circle appeared underneath Izumi as a burst of green color energy erupted underneath the girl before particles of energy gathered inside her. Within a matter of seconds, Nelsha could see the bruises on Izumi's body start to disappear, and her skin gaining color back.
"How is she now?" She asked before seeing Vi scan her from her gauntlet.
"Despite being malnourished and having her body augmented, she's doing better than how she was before. Though I advise you to get her out of here so she can get proper treatment."
"But she should be okay to walk and run, right?"
"Indeed, you should be able to wake her up right now." He said before Nelsha heard Izumi coughing up some of the liquid she was forced to take. She quickly moved a bit behind her and she pulled her up a bit while patting her back.
"Oh good, you're awake. For a second there I thought I had to drag your body out of this awful place." She said as Izumi looked up at her in a somewhat confused daze. She soon felt a warm feeling on her back as Nelsha began to heal her again with magic. She soon felt her vision coming back to her as she saw a dark-skinned girl with pink hair and brown highlights in the left part of her bangs. She noticed the girl had bunny ears, a cat-like tail, and clothes that made her look...knightish.
"W…Who are you-" Before Izumi could finish asking her question, she turned her head off to the side and vomited up more of that liquid from her stomach.
"Relax, I'm not with the guy that put you in here." She said as Izumi wiped some of the bile from her lips.
"And…y-you expect me to believe that?" She said before slightly backing away from her.
"Well, I did get you out of the chamber you were in and fixed most of the damage done to your body. But I can see why you wouldn't trust someone out of the blue like that." Nelsha said before offering a hand to Izumi. "The name's Nelsha Atlus, soldier of the Kronos Military." She said as Izumi stared at her hand like it was foreign to her. "Look I know that you have a lot of questions and distrust given the state that you're in due to this place."
"That's a bit of an understatement."
"But do you want to go back into that tube and be made into a Nomu?" She asked before pointing a finger next to her. Izumi looked over to her right to see a deformed version of a Nomu and flinched. She grimaced upon weighing the options that appeared in her mind. Trust this stranger that appeared out of nowhere, or leaves and finds a way out herself…given the past failed attempts and consequences of that, she lets out a sigh of defeat and annoyance before grabbing Nelsha's hand and pulling herself up.
"Izumi Midoriya…at least I think that is my name." She said before looking at Nelsha up and down. "You don't look like you belong here, nor do you work here…are you another abductee like me?"
"Um, somewhat. Let's just say that I ended up here due to…forces that were out of my control."
Nelsha said with a slightly awkward chuckle. "Wait what makes you think I was abducted?"
"Well, most of the people I see were kids my age, like you are."
"Hey, I'm not a kid."
"She might assumed that you were a kid due to your height," Vi said as it caused Izumi to get startled by the new voice as she looked around.
"Who said that!?"
"Forgive my sudden announcement, but that would be me that said that," Vi said as she looked over at Nelsha. She raised her hand and showed a hologram of a white-skinned man with short blonde hair, and wearing black armor. "Greetings, I am Vi. Nelsha's personal AI assistant, guardian, and partner. It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Midoriya." He said which caused the girl to blink at the AI for a moment before looking up at the lesser fellpool in surprise.
"Um, I'll explain once we get out of this place." She said before looking at Vi. "Vi, by any chance were you able to scan the facility we're in for an escape route?"
"I'll explain once you both make your way to the safe room that I found." He said before showing the two a digital screen of what he meant. "I'll be able to send over some supplies, but I can't teleport you both out due to how deep underground you both are."
"Fair enough," Nelsha said before looking over at Izumi who was a bit surprised and confused by what she was seeing. "Look I get that you don't trust, and you have no reason two. But if you want to get out of this place, then I need you to come with me."
"...Can I trust you to get me out of this place?"
"You have my word, as a member of the Kronos Military and knight planet Kalahan. I swear on my honor and life, I will get out of this place." The alien said with a determined expression on her face as she once again extended a hand toward Izumi. The green-haired girl was hesitant at shaking the alien's hand. But given how she didn't have a clue on how to escape this place, what else does she have to lose?
"...Alright…I'll go with you." She said before shaking her hand, causing the lesser fellpool to grin.
"Perfect, then let's move on."
