Chapter 5

Ari had been in the forest for so long I guess she lost count, but she was glad she finally had a

friend. Wolf also enjoyed Ari's presence, it made him feel less wolf-like and more human. He

promised himself that he would protect Ari no matter the cost, pushing aside the thought that he

might eat her. He realized that the first time they met, it gave him a feeling. Not a bad feeling, it

was a warm feeling. Everytime he would see Ari it made him feel like that, but he didn't know

what it was. Wolf sat under a tree thinking about that, then Ari ran over. "Wolf, can I braid your

hair?" She said. "Huh?" Wolf said, looking up. "What's a braid?" Wolf said, confused. "If you

want, I can show you." Ari said, holding up a hair band. "Um, ok." He said. Ari sat down next to

wolf and took a piece of his hair and started braiding it, after a few minutes it was finished.

"Done!" Ari said smiling. "Come on, let's go to the river so you can see the reflection." Ari said

grabbing wolf's hand. "Ok, ok, I'm coming!" Wolf said while following Ari. Wolf went up to the

river and looked down. His face looked different…when was the last time he looked at his

Reflection? The scars on his face were still visible and his eyes were glowing just like before,

but…his face, was he smiling? I Haven't smiled in so long… I wonder why, Wolf thought. Then

he looked at his hair, a little braid was sticking out in his hair. "Nice, it looks cool…I'll keep it."

Wolf said, touching the braid. "Ari?" Wolf said, turning around. "Yeah?" Ari said. Wolf scratched

his hand behind his head and blushed "I…I…" Suddenly there was a rustling sound in the

bushes, and Wolf turned around. A wolf guy's head popped out, "Hai." He said. Ari screamed

and hid behind Wolf while he stood there and rolled his eyes. "What are you doing here Stone?"

Stone got up and walked over to them. He looked like Wolf but with dark brownish black fur. "I

don't know, I was wandering around the forest and then I caught your scent and decided to say

hello." Ari then walked out from behind Wolf, "Wait, I didn't know there were other wolf people

like you." She said, confused. "Well yeah, he was also born under the full moon, there are many

wolf people like me." Wolf said, scratching his ear. "Oh, who is that, is that a human?" Stone

said, twitching his ears. "Why is a human here?" Stone asked, "And why aren't you eating her?"

He said. "Can I eat her?" Stone said, licking his lips hungrily. Wolf growled, "Back off, this is my

friend Ari." Stone widened his eyes, "Friend?" He swished his tail. "Yes, f-r-i-e-n-d, friend." Wolf

said growling. "Ok, ok, calm down…fine I won't eat her." Stone said, waving his hands. "Good."

Ari stood there awkwardly as Wolf and Stone talked to each other. "Um, I'm gonna like…go…"

Ari said backing up and walking away. "Fang, don't tell me you're turning into a softy." Stone

said. Ari was far away and overheard. Fang? Who is Fang? Ari thought, confused. Is there

another wolf guy around. "Brother, don't say my name out loud!" Wolf said growling. "But, Fang,

why would you befriend a human?" Oh, so Wolf is Fang, but he told me he didn't have a name,

Ari thought. "I'm her friend because she said she wished for one, don't worry, I'm gonna eat her

eventually." Fang said. "Oh, so you're getting her trust first and then you're gonna eat her?"

Stone said. "Exactly!" Fang said. Ari stood behind the tree surprised, He said he would be her

friend, and now he's saying he's gonna eat her? She couldn't believe this, I thought I could trust

him, I guess i'm not his friend after all. A tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it off silently, I

can't believe he would betray me like that, of all we've been through. She grabbed the strap that

held her bag. I think I'm gonna leave, what's the point in staying here anyway? Ari thought while

walking. She walked silently, but then she couldn't hold it anymore. She dropped to the ground

and sobbed. "I-I can't believe this!" She said as tears dripped down. She sat on the ground

burying her head in her red cape and cried. "Goodness me, is that a human I see crying?" A

voice said, Ari looked up. Another wolf guy was standing there in front of her, he had white fur

and blue eyes. "Why are you crying, dear?" The white wolf guy said. "You're gonna eat me too

right?" Ari said glaring. "I guess I'm nothing but food in this forest." The wolf guy twitched his ear

and smiled. "Oh no dear, I wouldn't eat you…humans are much to…chewy, I'd rather prefer a

deer, or a wild turkey." The wolf guy said. "Call me Snow." He said crouching down and holding

out a paw. Ari took it, and Snow helped her up. "Now tell me…why are you crying." Ari looked

away. "Do you know Stone, and Fang?" Ari said. "Yes I know them, actually, I came with Stone

to meet Fang." Snow said. "Well um, how do I explain this casually…"
