As soon as Marinette got home from school, she hurried upstairs. She had recently planted a rosebush and her mother had gotten the most adorable gardening outfit. A pink sundress and a white hat, plus her gardening gloves.
Maybe today the roses would be in bloom, and she could give one to Adrien at school tomorrow. Marinette went up to her balcony and checked one her roses. The good news was the roses were indeed in bloom, but what were all those little brown bugs crawled all over her plant?!
"Hey, Princess. Are you enjoying the nice weather?" Marinette whirled around to see Cat lazing on the pink rug and she felt tears welling up in her eyes. "No, my roses are covered in aphids!"
Cat got up quickly at the sound of her distressed voice. "Oh, what do they need?" Marinette wiped her eyes. No munching loving bug was going to eat her roses! "Ladybugs, maybe to eat them." "Oh."
Suddenly, Cat felt his paw being yanked towards the skylight. "Come on, Cat! We need to go the garden shop and get some ladybugs!"
Twenty minutes later they were back on the balcony and Cat wiped cookie crumbs from his mouth. The sweet shop just happened to be on the way, so he had convinced Marinette to stop.
"Okay, here goes," Marinette told Cat, bringing out the bag and Cat's eyes widened in surprise. The small bag contained over 4,000 ladybugs! If only there were that many Bugaboos!
"Stand back!" Marinette warned Cat as she opened the bag and shook the red bugs onto the plant. Marinette peered at the bugs getting to work instantly. Forgetting Cat was there for a moment she begin to talk out loud.
"Your mission is to destroy them and then I give a rose to Adrien! Oh, Buttercup, a few aphids won't stop me!"
Cat watched and listened, hand on his chin. "She's cute but terrifying." But hey, he was getting a rose of the deal so this was good, right?
Cat yawned and plopped back down in sunspot. Gardening was hard work and it was time to dream about his sweet Bugaboo while he took a snooze!
