176 days since arrival…

A full week of preparation with nothing to show of it.

I have been prowling the local guild and markets looking for caravans or any more news of Hito. All caravans happened to already departed to all other places except Sabasa and there's no news of Hito either. So after three days of doing nothing, I decided that my time is far better invested in research than begging for guidance.

And by the gods I just realised how hard will my travels be.

For starters, we have two options; Sabasa or Grangold. Grangold is at war, and even I won't go to a warzone for shits and giggles, so Sabasa is the natural option. Problem is, its literally in a desert. Our equivalent of the Saharan Desert.

I can survive in jungles, forests, blasted-out urban warzones, even radioactive hellscape too if needed. But the deserts? You don't fuck with deserts, especially one this big.

The ambient morning heat was so high you can cook a basket of eggs within minutes of walking. Water is so scarce that the term 'oases' became synonymous with finding El Dorado in this blasted sand pit. Grass? What's that? We only have sharp and hardy plants unfit for consumption. The sands, by Yuyuko's bountiful mammaries, the damned sands! It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere! Gears, cogs, engines, guns, machines, anything that might have any kind of mechanical import will positively be coated in sand!

Oh, just wear loose, breathable clothing? Hope you also pack some heavy fabrics, because the night is so cold that you can catch hypothermia even when you're dry as fuck! The desert is such an anathema to life that the inhabitants both man and animal simply evolved and live there out of pure fucking spite!

But that's not all, we're talking about the deserts in this retarded world of splooge-drinkers! Can't just have regular spiders, scorpions and other stupid things too. Oh no, no, my dear friend. They just HAVE to mutate them into something even worse! By the merciful Buddha, how drunk Ilias was when she makes them?

Bottom line is, I don't fuck with massive deserts. Not without proper backup and planning. I have been doing plenty of it this last week. Just buying food and water by the bulk, as well as finding as many accessories that can help counteract the heat and hide us from Monsters alike. Our finances took a massive dip, but I prefer to be safe than sorry.

Nevertheless, I will still remain within this city for a couple of days more. If I still cannot find a caravan to join up with, I might as well take the shot.
