A week later, Hiccup woke up and ate breakfast and left for work.

While working in the forge, Astrid walked upto the counter and says "Hiccup?"

Hiccup stop working and turned to Astrid and ask "what do you need, milady?"

Astrid nervous answers "my parents suspect that the gifts you gave me were betrothal gifts."

Hiccup sighs "and that could be a problem if we want to keep the betrothal a secret."

Astrid nods her head "yeah, that can be a problem if villagers find out. Snotlout would challenge you for my hand in marriage."

Hiccup sighs "well since the Meathead Tribe left yesterday, I was leaving on a mission to find my mother."

Astrid ask "can I come?"

Hiccup comments "I think your parents would have my head for taking you with me."

Gobber arrives and says "hey, your supposed to be working."

Astrid sighs "sorry, Gobber for stealing your worker" and leaves the forge.

An hour later, Snotlout walked upto the forge and scowls "Hiccup?! What did you tell the Hoffersons?! Mr. Hofferson won't accept my father's marriage contract?"

Hiccup comments "I didn't tell them nothing. Maybe Astrid told them about you?"

Snotlout warns "stay away from my future wife or I'll take it as stealing my future wife to make her yours."

Hiccup punches Snotlout in the face and says "don't threatened me or I'll respond with force."

Snotlout rubs his sore jaw.

Hiccup leaves the forge to go pack for his trip to find his mother.

Snotlout growls at Hiccup leaving.

Gobber comments "boy, you better think before threatening Hiccup. And furthermore, if you keep bothering Astrid, Hiccup will snap on you. They're dating now! Which means Astrid is off limits!"

Snotlout stomps off to go find his father.

Hiccup finished packing up his travel and carried it out the door to meet his father and Astrid.

Stoick ask "why are you leaving for anyways?"

Hiccup answers "I'm going to go look for my mother and bring her home to visit because I believe she's alive still."

Astrid comments "don't make me wait forever to see you again."

Hiccup wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her lips.

After the kiss, he tells her "I love you, Astrid Giggles Hofferson."

Astrid replies "I love you too, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third."

Hiccup climbs up on Toothless's saddle and fly off.

While they flew west, Hiccup comments "hey, bud? I did some research and there's a place where dragons go to seek Sanctuary from threats. Let's start there."

Toothless warblers and shift towards the North.

Two hours later, Toothless and Hiccup arrive at a island made of ice.

Hiccup draws inferno and investigate the island with Toothless.

They visited every tunnel to reveal caves with different dragons that he hasn't seen before.

Hiccup found a main cave in the island off towards the entrance to see a river, grass and pots and pans and says "well, bud? Looks like someone has been living here."

Toothless sniff the place and picked up the scent and realized it was similar to Hiccup and Stoick.

Hiccup ask "what is it, bud?"

Toothless walks over by a the river and claws in sand 'I think your mom lives here'.

Hiccup grins "that's great, bud. I just wonder where she is at?"

Four hours later, Hiccup made himself lunch.

A person arrives at the ice nest and enters her home to see a boy making lunch next to a Night Fury and curious grabs the boy to examine his face to see a scar on his chin and says "Hiccup?"

Hiccup ask "who are you?"

Valka takes off her helmet and says "you grown in sixteen years."

Hiccup ask "should I know you?"

Valka sighs "no. you were just a babe, but a mother never forgets about you."

Hiccup grins "I knew you were alive."

Valka smiles "it's good to see you too, son."

Hiccup hugs her.

Valka ask "why are you here for?"

Hiccup answers "I wanted to find you and bring you back home."

Valka sighs "I can't leave the dragons. I have to stay to protect them from Drago Bludvist."

Hiccup sighs "I guess I can stay and help you out."

Valka ask "what about your father?"

Hiccup answers "I exile myself last year."

Valka gasped "Hiccup!"

Hiccup comments "it's a long story."

Valka sighs "tell me then."

Hiccup sighs "short version is that everyone wanted me dead and I decided to leave to become a swordsman."

Valka curious ask "what type of armor is that anyway?"

Hiccup answers "it's a Samurai warrior armor from Japan. Along with this Katana."

Valka gape "how long did that take?"

Hiccup answers "a year."

Valka curious ask "do you have a girlfriend yet?"

Hiccup grins "Astrid Hofferson and she's my betrothed."

Valka ask "you propose to her?"

Hiccup shakes his head "no. She proposed to me before I left for a year and then I presented her with a betrothal necklace and a new double bladed axe that is indestructible made out of Gronckle Iron."

Valka ask "won't she be worried about you?"

Hiccup comments "she made me promise her to not have her wait ten years. Exile runs for five years."

Valka sighs "she's probably going to be upset that you would be gone for four more years."

Hiccup shakes his head "I don't plan on waiting four years to see her again."

Valka ask "what made you exile yourself?"

Hiccup answers "I saw it in dad's eyes after he met Toothless. He pardon me after seeing the dragon me and Toothless killed."

Valka sighs "why leave for?"

Hiccup answers "no one made me feel wanted for fifteen years of living there."

Valka smiles "I'll enjoy having you here."

Hiccup and Valka eat lunch together.

Valka shows Hiccup a secret about Toothless's spine flaps to make tighter turns.

Hiccup comments "the unholy of lightening and death. I wonder if you can absorb lightening and discharge against other dragons?"
