A ROLAND EMMERICH FILM

KRATTZILLA

A sign stood showing the radioactive symbol. A man calculates the map for an area.

On of one the many shores, an Marine Iguana swam along the rocks looking for algae to feed on. On land, a Komodo Dragon patrols the sandy banks of the beach in search of food. Flicking it's snake-like forked tongue to pick up any scents.

On the rocks by the water, a number of Marine Iguanas basks in the sun to warm up after a dive.

Further inland, a section of forest was being cleared as a tree tips over and hits the ground. And clinging to a rock, a lizard watches as a bulldozer clears away the fallen plant material and as the lizards were being forced from their home.

Lizards are an ancient type of reptile first appearing 260 million years ago, as it was still some 30 million years before the first dinosaurs evolved. And are in the same family of reptiles with snakes, as part of the Squamata family, as snakes branched off from a common ancestor during the Cretaceous. And at one time, people once thought dinosaurs were lizards, as dinosaur means Terrible Lizard, but eventually found that they aren't closely related.

But lizards are a success story as they are found on every continent, expect for Antarctica. Living in every habitat and climate, ranging from the tiny Brookesia nana being only 3 quarters of an inch, to the gigantic Komodo Dragon that grows to 10 feet long and 300 pounds with the biggest males.

Komodo Dragons are the largest living lizard, but there was once an even bigger lizard. Pleistocene Australia was once home to a monster lizard twice the size of a Komodo Dragon, and 20 times heavier, it was a monster that is the Komodo's closest relative: Megalania. A giant lizard 20 feet long and weighing close to a ton, this monster lizard preyed on the giant Marsupials that once roamed Australia and vanished 40,000 years ago.

Megalania was the largest lizard to have ever existed.

2 men in radiation suits wander by as one took photos of a device.

Elsewhere, a mother lizard tends a nest of eggs before heading off and leaves the eggs to their fate.

On a different part of the island, a tower stood as a man through a loud speaker counts down.

"Vingt, dix-neuf, dix-huit, dix-sept, seize, quinze, quatorze, treize, douze, onze, dix, neuf, huit, sept, six, cinq, quatre, trois, deux, um..."

In a patch of sand, a clutch of eggs stood as an iguana crawls by.

A B-57 soars high in the air as then a large explosion goes off in the distance. From a safe distance on land, 3 men watched as even some lizards saw the explosion as it goes off and plumes.

On the island shore, an iguana crawls off as the shockwave spreads out.

Over time, the island lays in ruins from a nuclear winter. And the eggs in the clutch remain still as they been destroyed.

But life... finds a way.

One egg in the center stood as then a lightning bolt spreads across it like a crack on it's shell.

Lightning flashed as rain pours down heavily over the Pacific as a Japanese fishing container ship plows through the rough waters.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN

In the cabin, a man watches a TV of a sumo wrestler showdown while eating a bowl of roman noodles. And the crowd cheers as a man announced in Japanese the fight as thunder rumbled.

In one of the many rooms, a man singing through a radio in Japanese plays as crew members chattered and were busy culling and preparing caught fish for stores across the world.

Back in the cabin, the man watches the sumo match as one manages to overpower the other.

But then machinery whistles out as he turns to the dashboard as rapid beeping was heard as the sonar beeped. The man got up and went over to the radar screen as the beeping continues and saw a large shape on the screen, and was heading towards the ship quickly.

He then grabs the phone.

Then an alarm wails out across the ship alerting everyone, and a man spoke in Japanese as they quickly rushed off. They all shouted in Japanese as they hurried out of the room and through the halls.

At the cabin, a sailor enters and spoke in Japanese as another appeared.

"Abandon ship! Abandon ship!" He said in Japanese. "Man the liftboats..."

On the radar, the image closes in on the ship.

In a room, a man got to an elderly man's room and spoke in Japanese of what was happening.

Then suddenly, the ship tips as they were knocked aside and the old man fell from his bed as objects fell. Across the ship, crew members held on as the entire ship felt it was struck by a freight train.

"Aah!" A man cried.

"Ooh!" Another cried.

In the old man's room, he was still on the floor.

A number of sharp knifes land on the floor just missing him.

"Ah!" He cried. "Aah!"

Then the bow of the ship was lifted upwards in the air as metal creaks and as if something was pulling the ship.

Soon crew members gasped got to their feet as they were still unaware of what was going on.

Then a ghostly indistinct groaning was heard as everyone remained silent as the old man heard it as well.

Something was definitely out there.

Then suddenly what looked like claws pierced through the hull of the ship like hot knifes through butter as men screamed. Water gushed in as men screamed.

In the cabin, they held on as the ship tips on it's starboard side as water gushes in as men screamed and shouted.

The old man opened a door leading outside, and then the 3 men in the cabin looked out ahead and what looked like a massive tail swings towards them and struck the cabin's windshield as they were thrown back screaming and groaned hitting the wall.

Elsewhere in the world, a man with black hair, brown eyes, glasses drives a van on an abandon road and was singing along with the radio.

I'm singin' in the rain

just singin' in the rain

What a glorious feelin'

I'm happy again

"Whoa!" He exclaimed lightly swerving dodging an abandon truck.

He then drives pass a gate with warning signs.

Let the stormy clouds chase

Everyone from the place

Come on with the rain

I've put a smile on my face

He soon slows the van to a stop and parks.

CHERNOBYL - UKRAINE

As it was a raining day at Chernobyl, Ukraine. Chernobyl was ground zero to one of the biggest manmade accidents in history, as on April 26, 1986, a day like any other, turns disastrous when the No. 4 reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant explodes. Everyone was forced to leave, as it was said to be uninhabitable to humans for the next 20,000 years. But today, animals have claimed the area as humans can't be in the area without protective clothing.

Soon, the man stepped out as his continues singing.

I'm laughin' at clouds

So dark up above

The sun's in my eyes

And I'm ready for love

He got to the back of his van and opens the truck grabbing 2 robs and jump-start cables sticks them in the ground grunting as he placed them hard. And soon got back to the van.

Come on with a-

He grabs a clutch and place it by a battery as then it sparked heavily.

"Ooh!" He exclaimed and jumped.

He hums as he placed the clutch on right as electricity crackled, and Earthworms started emerging from the ground by the rods.

"Ah. Come on!" The man said.

Bring on that rain!

He grabs a container and heads off as a few photos were seen, some of him with a woman around his age with blonde hair, blue eyes and looking to be dating.

I'm happy again

Come on with the rain

He started collecting some of the worms, and then a Russian Chinook helicopter appeared whirring as it descends for landing.

There's a smile on my face

I'm dancing with the worms

He looked back seeing the helicopter touching down as he removes his headphones.

Then Russian soldiers stepped out as they shouted in Russian and begin to make their way over to him.

"Whoa!" The man said. "Whoa, whoa! Uh- "He then speaks in Russian as they went by him and he continues in Russian. "Good day. I am here with permission... Uh, uh, uh, permit! Damn!" He turns a man approaching hm. "How do you say permit? I have a permit."

"Dr. Niko Tapopolis?" He said.

Niko stared a little offended. "It's Tatopoulos." He corrected.

"Kyle Terrington. I'm with the U.S. Department." He introduced himself.

A soldier shouted in Russian as Niko turns to them as they were by his van collecting his things.

"What are they doing?" Niko asked.

"You're being reassigned." Terrington said.

"But my work here isn't finished." Niko said.

"It is now." Terrington said.

Niko stared all confused.

In a different part of the world, it was a clear day over one of many Indonesia's island.

KOMODO ISLAND

Not far from the shoreline, a giant greenish blue Box Turtle stood as it was a home base and aircraft for a team. The Wild Kratts' Tortuga HQ.

The Wild Kratts were made of 5 team members, 2 of them are brothers.

Martin Kratt has blonde hair, blue eyes, blue jacket, safari khaki shorts and brown adventure boots.

Chris Kratt, Martin's younger brother, brown spiked hair, brown eyes, green jacket, same khaki shorts and boots.

Aviva Corcovado, a young Spanish woman, dark brown hair in a ponytail, gray eyes, olive skin, purple shirt with a yellow jacket over it with a sky blue stripe on the sleeve, blue jeans, black belt with a bolt worn slightly crooked around the waist, and purple and white converse shoes.

Koki is an African American woman, black afro hair, brown eyes, yellow headband, triple earrings, red shirt with black short sleeves and a white star, yellow bootcut pants, red shoes with turquoise blue stripes coming down the laces to the sole.

And lastly, Jimmy Z, reddish-orange hair, bit of facial hair on chin, light blue eyes, blue-green baseball cap worn backwards, white, long-sleeve shirt under a gray T-shirt with a video game character on it, red-plaid shorts, and white tennis shoes.

At the moment, they were all watching 4 Komodo Dragons in a feeding frenzy on a Water Buffalo.

"Look how they eat." Chris said.

"Man, those guys are going at it." Koki said hearing crunching and tearing from the lizards gorging.

"Yeah, Komodo Dragons are big eaters." Martin said. "They can eat 80% of their body weight in a single sitting. That's like one of us eating a 100 pound steak."

They watched as the ravenous Dragons gorged themselves on the carcass, and a large male among them rips off a large slab of meat and tosses it's head as he swallows the piece whole. They continued feeding as their sharp, serrated teeth made short work through the flesh.

It was almost like watching predatory dinosaurs like T. Rex feeding.

"Man, those guys will eat anything." Aviva said.

"Yeah, they'll eat 88% of a carcass." Chris said.

They watched as the feast continues as the scent of blood starts to bring in more Dragons.

A few hours later, they left the frenzy much for Jimmy's relief as more Dragons started coming.

"Man, that sure was gnarly." Martin said.

"Yeah, just seeing that made me hungry." Jimmy said.

They near the Tortuga as then strangely, the whirring of a helicopter was heard as then a U.S. military Osprey appeared and soon landed near them. And soon, Kyle Terrington stepped out and went up to them.

"Chris and Martin Kratt?" He said.

"Uh... Yes?" Martin said.

"Kyle Terrington. U.S. Department." Terrington said. "You're all being assigned for a military task."

"For what?" Chris said.

"Son, I really don't have time for questions." Terrington said. "I dead serious."

The Wild Kratts turn to one another all confused.

Elsewhere in the world, waves crashed along the shoreline in southern Asia.

PAPEETE - TAHITI

By a hospital, 2 black Suburban SVUs parked outside as a French man waiting for them put out his cigarette and got up meeting them.

"There's pressure from the Americas." He said to one man in French.

"What have you told them?" He asked in French.

"Nothing yet."

"Are there any survivors?"

"Only one, sir. He was lucky."

The leader stared at the scene as the old Japanese man lays in his bed being the sole survivor from the ship and whatever attacked them.

"Get them out." He said.

"S'il vous plait." His co-worker said to the doctors.

The doctors soon left as they got to work, and he held a device over the old man as it clicks as his boss joins next to him as the man looked traumatized of what he saw that night as the clicking continues.

"Ask him what happened." He said in French.

Another of his works then spoke in Japanese and asked the elder what had happened. But he remained silent as he continues in Japanese.

The lead French man then brought out a lighter and lights it, and it clicks as it sparks a small flame. And the old man turns to it.

"What did you see, old man?" He asked.

The elderly man was momentarily silent and finally spoke. "Gojira. Gojira. Gojira."

The lead French man remained silent.

Author's Note:

When I was younger, I once thought Godzilla (1998) was actually some sort of dinosaur film. Considering the '98 version of Godzilla looks like one.
