Chapter Six
Base of Operation
Musutafu City, Beach
After hours of traveling from the isolated area of All For One's hidden facility. Nelsha and Izumi made their way to the nearest city, which was Musutafu City. So far, the duo was able to keep themselves hidden from people. Mainly because what they were wearing would raise some suspicion and might mistake them as villains. With the help of Vi giving Nelsha a map of the city, the duo made their way to the beach of Musutafu City and hid out near an abandoned cave that was big enough for a group of people to hide out in.
"Not that bad of a run from point A to point B. I've even broken a sweat from that." Nelsha said before looking over at Izumi. "Hope the ride wasn't that bad while you were asleep?"
"Did you have to carry me like that?" Izumi asked, still blushing from being carried bridal style.
"I'm pretty sure you'd be tired halfway here. Especially when your stomach was growling every thirty minutes or so."
"W-Well what do you expect!? I haven't eaten anything other than the food from the vending machines back at the facility!" Izumi yelled as her stomach growled once again.
"Fair enough." She said before pressing a button on her gauntlet. "Vi, mind, wire me some currency equivalent to this country's currency."
"Already doing that," Vi said as a card appeared in the lesser fellpool's hand. "I've also taken the liberty to provide you both with suitable clothes so you won't stick out."
"You are a lifesaver, Vi." She said before placing the card in her pocket. Both Nelsha and Izumi noticed their outfits were glowing as the lesser fellpool dawned on a pair of navy blue jeans, a black colored shirt, gray arm sleeves, a blue jacket wrapped around her waist, and bandages covering her right hand. For Izumi, she dawned on a pair of blue shorts that cut off at the knees, thigh-high knee socks, red shoes with metal at the tip of the toes, a long sleeve shirt that had the same color as her hair, and a green neck scarf around her neck,
"Okay, how is this possible?" Izumi asked as she looked over at herself.
"Bit of a nifty trick. You're still wearing combat clothes, but you can alter the way they look without having to take off your clothes. Of course, you still have to wash them, it just makes changing clothes much easier." She answered while looking over herself as well. "Okay, game plan time. Do you by any chance have any memories of your life before you were kidnapped?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't know anything other than what I've been through in the facility. It's like someone came into my head and took pieces of my memories and replaced it with…I don't know, nothingness?" She said while placing a hand on her head. "It's hard to explain."
"Naw, it's understandable given what they did to you. Can't expect you to know everything." Nelsha said as she looked over at Vi. "I hope you don't mind doing this, but would you be willing to look up information involving Izumi."
"Shouldn't be a problem, but I would like to do a physical check-up on Ms. Midoriya." He said before noticing Izumi looking at him with a concerned expression on her face. "Worry not. I will not hurt you or anything. This is to make sure that the damage they've done to you isn't life-threatening or worse." Izumi soon looked over at Nelsha who gave her a reassuring smile that he wouldn't hurt her. With a slight gulp, the human took a step forward as Vi teleported a couple of medical devices into the cave. The last to appear was a chair that looked rather comfortable to sit on. "Please take a seat, this won't take long." The human nodded as she took a seat in the chair. Once she was sitting, a drone appeared above her as it began to scan Izumi. In a matter of six minutes, a blue screen appeared in front of Vi with an image of Izumi in front of her.
"So, anything out of the ordinary?" Nelsha asked as the AI hummed.
"Well the auto-recovery system in the clothes I gave her seems to have taken care of any if not all fatal injuries. Oddly enough, I think whatever they did to her improved her physical ability to that of a Klausians."
"Um…what are Klausians?" Izumi asked.
"They're aliens from the planet Klaus III and Klaus IV. They may have the appearance of a human, but to tell them apart are the rings around their necks, and they have high combat skills to the point they can dodge a simple bullet from a handgun or laser from a photon rifle. And those things shoot crazy fast."
"Seriously!? I can move like that!?"
"Yes, but not at the moment. You're still malnourished and you need to eat proper food, so I suggest heading into the store to get a lot of food. We would give you some of our food, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't stomach it seeing how it isn't something you would see on Earth."
"...is it weird that I'm a bit curious as to what you mean by that?" Izumi asked.
"Oh trust me. A lot of the food I eat is raw organs from animals, humans, or monsters in space. Bad humans mind you, like a rapist, sex traffickers, and child molesters." The alien said as she noticed a sigh escape from Izumi's lips, but still had a somewhat worried expression on her face.
"Okay, I didn't know you eat humans."
"Not all humans, just the bad ones as I said before. Just like with humans and their culture, other planets and their inhabitants have their cultures. I am what you would call a Fellpool or a Lesser Fellpool in my case. You see, Fellpools bear the resemblance of humans, the only difference is that they have tails, a variety of ear shapes, mostly cat-like ears." She said before noticing Izumi writing something down. "Wait, where did you get that notebook from?"
"Oh, I snagged this from the break room we were in at the facility. I had a notebook before, but some boy with gray-colored hair turned it to ash upon touching it." She said before finishing writing for the time being. "I don't know why…but it feels…natural to me when I do this… as it calms me down."
"To each their own I suppose. What makes a fellpool different from a human, is that they have a strong sense of smell and hearing, very good seeing in the dark, and a few other abilities that humans don't have."
"Interesting. So I can assume that you're a fellpool?"
"Lesser fellpool to be accurate. We are a less developed type of fellpool, being an intermediate between a cat and a human. Some of us can transform into cats, at least some that aren't from my planet." She said before raising her left hand as it transforms into a beast's claw. "On my planet, lesser fellpool can transform into beasts depending on the traits they have."
"Okay, but how come you have rabbit ears instead of cat ears?"
"My mom was a Fellpool and my dad was a bunnyman." She said before showing Izumi a picture of herself when she was a kid, along with a tall fellpool with long purple hair, orange ears & tail, and was wearing a suit of armor with the moon sign on the chest piece. The human would notice a bunny-like creature that was about the same height as the woman's leg, but his fur was a shade of dark magenta, and had on a mage-like attire.
"Aw you look so adorable as a kid~," Izumi said before flinching at Nelsha's deadpan expression. "What? It's true."
"I am not cute, I am a fierce warrior from the planet Kalahan!" She yelled while huffing adorably. "I've fought against space pirates, bandits, and monsters. Do you think someone like me can be considered cute!?"
"It is when you're snuggling up against a giant plushie of a bunny during the night," Vi said as he noticed the lesser fellpool looking at him with a glare. "You can't hurt me seeing how I don't have a physical body."
"...I hate you so much right now." She said before leaning her back against the wall of the cave. "Back to what I was saying. The lesser fellpool on my planet can transform parts of their body or their entire body into the beast that their traits are heavily based on."
"Okay, that answers a few of my questions. But that thing you did to All For One before he turned into a black soupy substance. What was that?"
"Something that my tribe can only do." She said before removing the bandages around her right hand. In doing so it gave off a sickly aura of darkness. "We call it the soul phase. It allows us to take the good aspects of the soul and incorporate certain abilities into our very being."
"Interesting, so that would mean that the person is alive, right?"
"Not entirely. I mean you can see the person's past and whatnot, but being able to have the person communicate with you will be impossible seeing how they're dead and gone from this world. All that is left is their lingering spirit." Nelsha said before reaching into her pocket to pull an orb with a reddish aura.
"So…in a sense…you're pretty much holding their quirk in your hand seeing how there's nothing left of All For One."
"I…Suppose you're right…Vi, mind doing a bit of a scan on this?" The alien asked as she tossed the orb over to the AI, only for it to stop in midair due to a small drone as he began to scan it. "Never did I incorporate a soul into me. Mainly because a lot of the people that I've killed in self-defense weren't any good. I mean, they didn't have any Symbology that piqued my interest for the most part."
"Symbology…you mean that weird quirk thing you performed back at the facility?"
"Not a quirk, it's magic. Known in the past as heraldry, symbology is a type of sorcerous art, discovered on the planet Roak in SD 346, that allows people to manipulate the world around them." She said before demonstrating by summoning shards of dark crystals floating above her hand.
"Is it possible to teach someone symbology?"
"For the most part. Where I come from, if you want to learn how to do symbology, you'll have to go through a painful ritual by having symbology symbols placed on your body. Though it involves the use of a hot iron rod dipped in a magical substance." She said, which caused Izumi to pause in her writing and stare at her in disbelief. "What? Keep in mind not all planets are the same. So their rules, laws, and way of life aren't the same as you humans on this planet."
"I mean, yeah, but I didn't think it would involve something that painful."
"Fair point, but worry not. We don't do that stuff anymore seeing how the people of Kalahan are with the Kronos Military. Now we can just use a laser to place the symbology symbols on your body. It's no more than someone is tickling you."
"Interesting, I hope you don't mind me asking questions like these. I mean, I wouldn't expect to come across an alien from another world to come to our planet." She said while still writing. "I mean, what are the chances of this ever happening!?"
"One in a million I suppose, but it's fine." She said before hearing a dinging sound coming from Vi. "Found something?"
"Two things actually, which one do you want to hear?"
"Is it good news or bad news?"
"Good news for Midoriya, the other is interesting. For the interesting part of the news. The 'soul' that you took from All For One…it's not his soul…it's his quirk."
"...I'm sorry what?"
"You're holding his quirk." He said before making a screen appear in front of the lesser fellpool. "A soul has a unique energy wavelength that lets us scan for any weird anomalies. Like corruption from a foreign element due to Symbology or something else. This orb doesn't give off the same energy wavelength. If anything it gives off the energy you would get from reading a book from off of planet Kalahan."
"Huh…interesting…I guess it works differently on different planets that don't have symbology on them. Anything more on that quirk that you're scanning?"
"From what I can gather, this quirk seems to allow the user to stockpile on other people's quirks. It would explain why he was able to see you given how he had no eyes."
"Does the quirk copy other people's quirks or does it steal them?"
"Steal them, the only way for the victims to get their quirks back is for the user to give it back to them." He said before noticing Nelsha placing a hand on her chin. "You have an idea?"
"I might, but that can wait. What about the other information that you've gathered?"
"I've located Ms. Midoriya's residential home and her mother, who is currently alive," Vi said, which took Izumi by surprise as she stared at the AI.
"S-she's alive…you're not joking…are you?"
"I never lie unless given orders to do so." He said before pulling up another screen with a poster of Izumi's face on it from when she was a kid. "You've been missing for the past five years and the police have been trying to find you, but to no avail. Mainly because you were locked away in a facility deep underground."
"Do you have a picture of who Izumi's mom looks like?" Nelsha asked as the AI pulled up two pictures of Inko. One was her in the past, the other was what she looked like now.
"Wait, which one is my mom?" Izumi asked as Vi pointed to the shorter woman.
"Do you remember her?" She asked while noticing a stern expression on the girl's face trying to remember Inko, but couldn't as she let out a sigh of annoyance and shook her head. "Eh, I'm sure it'll come back sooner or later. But, on the bright side, we found someone that knows who you are and is related to you. So that's a win…right?"
"I suppose you're right…but…maybe I should wait before meeting her. I mean I'm sure she must be busy and all-" Before she could finish her sentence, Nelsha quickly walked over to her and flicked her on the forehead. "Ow! What was that for!?"
"Don't make excuses for yourself. If there's one thing that a mother would be excited about, is seeing their child. Especially in your case seeing how you ended up missing for two years." She said while watching Izumi rub her forehead. "Now, today's game plan is to get you something to eat. But before we can do that, you need to take a bath. No offense, but you smell like you've been bathing in chemicals. Which isn't far off considering where you've been for the past two years."
"Well, it's not like they gave me much in the hygiene department other than a toothbrush, paste, and bucket to go into when I have to use the bathroom."
"Fair point." She said before noticing Vi summoning a portable shower next to Izumi. "While you do that, I'm going to have a look around town for recon and to get us something to eat. Vi, keep an eye on her and if there's a threat nearby, teleport her to the ship."
"Acknowledge," Vi said before returning to his work as the lesser fellpool walked out of the cave.
