Lightning flashed as a Lockheed C-130 Hercules flew through a storm heading north.
Inside, Nick placed the sample he found under a microscope and looks through it. Chris, Martin, Aviva, and Koki, minus Jimmy who was sleeping, looked at another hoping for DNA results hoping to narrow down their search of what they were looking for.
"Colonel, excuse me, sir." A solider said approaching Hicks. "We just got a report of 3 fishing trawlers going down."
"What?" Chris said turning to them.
"What makes you think it's related?" Hicks asked.
"The trawlers were pulled under, sir." The solider explained.
Everyone else then turns to them as Elise and Craven joins Hicks.
"Jesus Christ." Hicks said in disbelief. "The thing's 200 miles off the Eastern American Seaboard, and we don't even know what the hell it is."
"It's Theropoda Allosaurus." Elise said.
"What?" Hicks said turning to her.
"Some type of enormous reptile that we believed died out in the Cretaceous Period." Elise explained.
"So where's it been hiding the last 60 million years?" Craven wondered.
"No, this thing is too big to be an Allosaur." Chris said. "Besides, lots of fossils have been of this dinosaur, including the bones of their feet."
"What the traces of radiation?" Nick asked. "The radiation isn't an anomaly. It's the clue."
A thunderclap was heard outside.
"This animal is much too big to be some kind of lost dinosaur." Nick said.
"Quite true." Martin said. "Spinosaurus gets to nearly 60 feet in length, making it the biggest predatory dinosaur. Argentinosaurus being the biggest known dinosaur doesn't even come close to leaving footprints of that size."
"Well don't tell me what it isn't." Hicks said. "And tell me what the hell it is."
"Well, what do we know?" Nick inquired and joins them. "Uh, it was first sighted... off the French Polynesian Pacific, right?" He gestured to the map.
"True." Aviva said.
"That area has been exposed to dozens of nuclear tests over the past 30 years." Nick said.
"Uh-huh. Hence the radiation." Elise said.
"No, more than that." Nick said. "I believe that this is a mutated aberration, a hybrid caused by the fallout of these islands."
"Uh-huh. Like your Earthworms?" Elise said skeptically.
Craven then lightly chuckled.
"Yes. Yes." Nick said.
Craven's smile dropped realizing he wasn't kidding.
"And just getting the DNA testing results, it seems like what we're looking for is some kind of reptile." Koki said.
"And given the tracks we've seen, it clearly walks on 2 legs like a T. Rex or any 2-legged dinosaur." Martin said.
"Whatever it is, it's clearly something we've never seen before." Chris said. "But what?"
"We're looking at a completely incipient creature, the dawn of a new species, the first of its kind." Nick said.
"Okay, we know it's still heading north." Aviva said. "Question is... where is it going?"
They stared at the map near the area where it was last sighted, and being several hundred miles where New York is.
Many miles to the north, rain pours down in New York City.
THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS
A lightning bolt flashed over the city.
Audrey enters a diner as chattering fills the place as she met up with Lucy and her husband, Victor, though some call him Animal.
Audrey sighed as she joins them. "My life sucks." She complained and sat down next to Animal.
"Oh, please." Lucy said. "Your life doesn't suck. His life sucks." She mentioned to Animal.
"'Cause I'm married to you." Animal uttered.
"I cannot believe he puts the moves, after everything I've done for him." Audrey complained.
"He is scum." Lucy said. "As far as he's concerned, you're just a pair of breasts that talked."
"Hey, there's an image." Animal said.
"I'm tellin' you, he is dirt." Lucy said. "He's a douche bag, gutter slime, dog crap, puke chunks."
"Hey, hey. I'm eating." Animal said. "You don't see me eating?"
"Audrey, you're too damn nice." Lucy said. "That's your problem. Nice gets you nothing in this town. It's dog-eat-dog. You gotta be a killer to get ahead. You know what I'm sayin'? I'm sorry, baby, but you just don't got it takes."
"You don't think that's true, do ya, Animal?" Audrey asked turning to him.
"Yeah, pretty much." Animal said. "You're a nice person, you know? Nice guys... finish last."
"Well, I can be tough if I want." Audrey said.
"Yeah, sure." Lucy said.
"I can!" Audrey protested.
Lucy and Animal then laughed.
"I can!" Audrey protested.
"No, yeah, no." Animal said.
"Whatever." Audrey said.
She then turns to the TV and saw something familiar.
"AMID unconfirmed reports of a crashed Air Force plane."
"Oh, my God!" Audrey said.
She saw Nick on the screen at the Panama dock.
"Oh, my God!" Audrey said and got up. "Can you turn that up, please?"
Audrey stared at the TV for a moment, and then shook her head and turns up the TV's volume herself as the News continued.
"Went down in a remote and inaccessible location sometime in the last 12 hours. It is not known yet whether or not there are any survivors."
"It's Nick." Audrey said almost dreamingly.
"Who is he?" Lucy asked.
"He was my college sweetie." Audrey said. "Wow. He looks so handsome on TV."
"There seems to be an unusually tight security around the crash site, possibly because of the highly sensitive military cargo aboard the plane."
Audrey at the screen all lovestruck as it was the first time she's heard from Nick for quite a long time.
Elsewhere in Manhattan, as a distant siren wails from a police car, men chattered as a fish market place was busy as usual as crates were being loaded and unloaded. And a man on a forklift nears a truck with a load.
"Fellows, you wanna unload this?" He said. "I'm gettin' soaked here! Come on! Will ya?"
At a dock not far away, an elderly man heads down with a fishing rod, tackle box, bucket, and chair and walks out on a pier.
"Come on! Please?" A man yelled in the distance.
Close by, 2 mid-aged homeless men noticed him.
"Ah!" One saw him.
"Hey, Joe, gonna catch one of them little fish in the East River?" The other called out to him.
"I hope so, but you never know." Joe said. "I mean, today could be my lucky day."
"The only thing you're gonna catch is a cold." The man said and laughed.
Joe stood at the end of the pier and tossed his line and a splash followed. He then sat down and whistled as he waited and took a sip of his beer, and then the buoy on his jerked as Joe soon noticed it.
"Hey!" Joe called out and chuckled. "I got a bite."
The 2 homeless men turn to each other with stunned looks as Joe laughed.
Then the buoy line went under as the line was reeled out.
"Boy, do I have a bite." Joe realizing he has a bigger catch than he thought.
Joe held onto his rod as the reel runs swiftly out as he grunts holding on tightly.
In the distance, a splash was seen.
"Hold on, Joe." A homeless man said as they watched. "You got a big one, baby. Hold on to it now."
"Oh, you wanna fight." Joe said and grunted.
He held the rod tightly, but then the rod slipped from Joe's grip as he watched it fly into the water and vanished out of sight.
Joe looked out ahead and then saw a large swell of water as 2 protrusions pointing barely from the surface. And it was coming towards the dock as Joe watched it as he had landed a much bigger catch than he first thought and got nervous.
"Whoa!" The homeless men watched getting up.
"Whoa! Whoa-ho!" One of them said.
Joe watched as whatever was behind the swell as coming closer with no sign of stopping.
"Oh, no!" Joe trembled.
And then he turned and took off running as fast as his legs could carry him. And then the pier exploded as boards flew off right behind him.
"Oh, no!" Joe cried running for his life.
The 2 homeless men watched as Joe screamed and ran for his life as piece of boards flew and struck the fence shielding them.
At the fish market, people were busy as usual as then suddenly a strange groaning fills the air as they looked around.
"What is that?" A man wondered.
On a freeway bridge, cars drove by as then suddenly a gigantic monstrous shape rose up with a few boats on it's back as it rose and then a loud roar followed. A man driving in his car saw the creature and was jaw-dropped stunned of what he was seeing.
The creature rose over the bridge as then a boat hits the street as it's foot flew by, and then a boat drops in front of the man's car as he hits the brakes and struck the boat.
At the fish market, people were still confused of what was happening.
"Whoa!" A man said.
Then suddenly a boat drops down hitting the street. And then growling was as then an enormous T. Rex-like foot drops down and lands on the street with a massive thud, and a cab struck the creature's toe. And another cab drove through some boxes of fish, growling fills the air as people ran and the growling continues as a car horn honked. Then the other foot of the creature lands on the street as another boat hits the ground as screaming occurred.
"Help!" A man yelled.
People ran for their lives as the creature walks as wood debris rained down, and a driver in a truck hasn't noticed the commotion outside as he was reading a newspaper listening to rock and roll music through headphones.
People flee as the creature's large left foot lands on the street with a massive thud shaking the ground.
Behind the truck, the man in the forklift looked up and saw the creature as it's gigantic head swung down growling as it bites on the truck. It's teeth pierce through the walls like butter as the team loading the fish screamed as the haul was crushed.
In the truck's cabin, the driver finally noticed what was happening as the truck as lifted up.
The loading crew slid back as below a man shielded his head with a crate as ice fell down from the truck.
"Oh, no!" The driver grunted.
And then he hits the door as it flew open as he held onto the steering wheel.
Below, a woman screamed as she ran and a man got out of his car looking up as the creature shook the truck like a chew toy and the driver screamed holding to dear life, but then finally slipped and falls.
Everyone ran for their lives as then the trucks on the street with a hard thud.
Elsewhere in the city, a presentation was taking place for New York's mayor for a re-election event.
"Here he is, ladies and gentlemen, the man you've all been waiting for, yours for a safer New York!" The Mayor's assistant announced out. "Your mayor! Mayor Ebert!"
The crowd cheered out as Mayor Ebert steps out.
"Thank you!" Ebert announced out. "Thank you! I wanna thank all of you for coming out on this beautiful New York City."
The crowd cheers out again.
"When I first came to office 4 years ago,-" A faint rumble was heard as some of the crowd looked around. "-people didn't that I would reduce crime." Ebert said. " But did I!"
The rumbling continues as a few officers noticed as well.
"People didn't think that I would restore order!" Ebert continued his speech.
Nearby, cars suddenly jostled and bounced.
"Hey!" An officer jumped.
Car alarms blare out as they were baffled.
"But I did!" Ebert announced in the distance as the crowd cheered.
The cars bounced again as the ground shook slightly as a car horn honked.
"Hey!" A man complained as the ground shook again.
The rumbling continues as car alarms wailed out as the ground shook almost feeling like footsteps. Some taxi cabs jostled as well, and one driver stepped out all baffled and confused, and he closed the door as it closed at the same thing as the cabs bounced again.
And this time, even Ebert felt it.
"Oh, my God!" He exclaimed.
Then a loud roar blares out into the air as the crowd ran for their lives.
"Hey! Hey! This way!" A man yelled. "This way!"
The crowd flees as an officer then saw a building coming down as people shouted and he turns and runs. And through the debris dust cloud, 2 large dorsal plates were seen as the creature roars out.
"Look out!" A man yelled and shouts.
Among the fleeing crowd, the taxi driver was shocked of what he was seeing.
Soon, Ebert and everyone begin to retreat.
"Move it!" Ebert said. "Let's get outta here."
The taxi driver then takes off running as the creature stomps through the street and strides over them roaring out as it's enormous left foot stomps down as people barely avoided getting crushed.
A boat then hits the pavement.
At an office floor, Caiman was busy on the phone while an employee with a sprained wrist on the phone with her mother.
"I am grateful for the fact that we're getting a new set." Caiman said. "I know that represents a commitment on the part of the management."
The employee noticed the lamp next to her flickered.
"Here's what I don't understand: Why we're the only station in town that doesn't have the Korean grocery holdup as our lead." Caiman continued.
The employee saw the lamp flickered again.
"I mean, what's our lead?" Caiman asked. "Rain, again!"
"Mom?" The employee frowned as her line cut out.
"It's stupid." Caiman continued. "It impresses people at parties you go to that we're the classy station."
The employee then noticed the lamp jostled slightly, and looks back as footsteps thudding were heard. And then saw a large squarish blocky head with gray scales and green eyes partial seen walked by the window as she was shocked of what she was seeing.
"Sorry." Caiman continued not noticing the creature outside. "I just don't give a rat's ass about a war in some country whose name I can't pronounce."
The phone slipped on the employee's hand in pure shock.
"How about a real story?" Caiman asked as people outside screamed.
"S-S-S-Sir?" The employee stuttered as Caiman turned to her. "I think your story just walked by the window."
Caiman frowned and looked backed to the window as the creature's dorsal plates just vanished from view and he turns back to her.
"What?" Caiman said as the creature's tail appeared and got back on the phone. "Maybe we can get in the Korean grocer's hospital room."
The tail then whooshed by.
Meanwhile, Animal, Lucy, and Audrey were getting ready to leave.
"So did this Romeo have a name?" Lucy asked.
"Nick Tatopoulos." Audrey said with a red lollipop in her hand.
"Jesus." Animal said. "Is that why you dumped him?"
"No." Audrey said.
"How long did you guys go out for anyway?" Animal asked as then the suddenly jostled.
"Nearly 4 years." Audrey said.
The lights flickered again.
Lucy gasped. "Girl, I'm surprised he didn't ask you to marry him." She said as Animal noticed the lights flickered.
"Well, that's the problem." Audrey said. "He did."
And then there was a rumbling as the crowd gasped as the diner jostled suddenly.
"Oh! Tell me that's not another parade." Lucy complained as the diner shook again.
"Um, I don't think that's a parade." Animal said feeling something was going on as car horns were heard honking.
The diner jostled again as everyone gasped as the honking continues. And now everyone was wondering what was happening.
"Please stand by." A news reporter said.
A roar was heard outside as the TV went black.
"What the hell is that?" Animal wondered.
The ground shook again as then people outside ran as parts of a building fell as Lucy and Audrey saw that something was definitely wrong. And then the creature's enormous feet stride by as they watched in pure shock. And then a TV suddenly flew through the window as glass shattered as Animal shields Audrey and his wife.
"Are you all right?" Animal asked as Audrey screamed. "Are you cut? You all right?"
He then rushed outside.
"Victor!" Lucy yelled. "Don't be stupid!"
Animal made it outside and saw the colossus.
"Oh, my!" Animal exclaimed all speechless. "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" He then rushed to his news van. "That is really - That is... Large."
He opens the door and grabs a camera.
At the diner, Lucy and Audrey came out and saw the damage left from the creature's wake.
"Oh, my God!" Lucy said.
"Oh, Christ!" Audrey said. "Oh, my God!"
Animal gets his camera ready as the creature's tail brushes a building as part of the wall broke off as it growled.
"Oh, my God." Lucy said.
"Oh, come on, ya bastard! Come on!" Animal complained placing the tape in the camera and saw the creature was gone. "Aw, jeez!" He runs off.
"Victor!" Lucy yelled.
"One sec." Animal said.
"Get back here, you retard!" Lucy yelled.
Animal hurries through the street hoping to get ahead of the creature as he climbs over a car and climbs over it and another car and hurries off.
"Somebody do somethin'!" A man yelled running by.
Animal got to the end of the street and saw the creature as thudding was heard as the creature looked around.
"Come on! Come on!" A man yelled rushing by. "Keep up! Keep up!"
The creature then strides towards him.
"Come on!" Animal growled trying to bang the slot close. "Come on!"
He then halts his movements, and then simply pushed the tape in the slot, and closed it as the creature growled and Animal starts filming the creature. The camera beeps as it records and the image was fuzzy as the creature roars out loudly.
Animal then saw how close it was as then the creature's enormous right foot lifts up almost over him. Animal gasped as he panicked, and then screams loudly as the foot falls towards and lands on the pavement over him crushing a taxi and the front hood of another with a thunderous thud.
Luckily, Animal was between a gap of the toes as he gasped and the foot lifts up and watches the tail swung by and flew off. And Animal shudderingly grunts and turns to the creature as it's footsteps thuds off and he gasped.
The creature stomps off let out a loud growling roar and it's tail brushes against the side of a building.
Animal whimpered still recovering from the shock of almost being stepped on. And then he started laughing from the close ordeal and being alive.
Author's Note:
And finally, the arrival of Godzilla. But not quite fully revealed yet. I also like that Jurassic Park reference with the bouncing cars each time he took a step. And what a close call Animal had of almost being stepped on.
After seeing some new images of Prehistoric Planet 2, I was like, "I KNEW IT!", when one image I saw of one particular dinosaur I thought be appear.
Majungasaurus. Madagascar's top predator.
I must admit, it's really impressive. And today, 2 new clips were shown as the Hatzegopteryx with bright colors as seen clashing with another male with the same coloration as the one from the Forest episode. I feel like that the shot of them fighting means something, could the brightly colored one be an elderly one?
One dinosaur I didn't expected to return was Tarbosaurus. And I think Masiakasaurus might return as well, and even Corythoraptors are returning. The Majungasaurus confronting some kind of reptile confronting it like how a Wolverine would against a Grizzly Bear. Or a Honey Badger confronting a lion.
Rajasaurus finally seen, and a herd of Alamosaurus migrating on a shoreline, yet I saw that were walking with a side-to-side walking gait like a lizard would. There was even a pair of T. Rex seen together, and judging by the body language, they look to be stalking something.
