Chapter Seven
Midnight Stroll
Underground Facility
"This is just awful." All Might said while looking over the damaged entryway of the facility. Scorched marks, pieces of the floor and walls were cracked, a mysterious black mark was on the ground, and almost all the scientists and guards were drained to the point where they were malnourished. As he watches the EMTs carry off the villains who can't move on stretchers, he notices an elderly man being pulled away in handcuffs, but he would hear him muttering something about a black tentacle creature, All For One, and she was just a little girl. As he watched the man being taken away, his attention was soon turned to Tsukauchi making his way over to him. "Found anything that might give us a lead as to what happened?"
"Other than the fact that the only statements that I'm getting from the criminals were a black creature attacking them. There's nothing else that we can find. Computers and surveillance cameras are wiped out, so we can't find out what happened here." Tsukauchi said as he grimaced from seeing another victim of a malnourished person being carried away. "Makes it even more difficult seeing how we won't know if a hero, vigilante, or another villain caused this."
"At first I thought it was Endeavor who sent the signal of this place given the burn marks, but he's currently busy with something else." All Might said while scratching the back of his head in confusion. "Hard to believe something like this was hidden right underneath our noses. How long has this place been here?"
"Hard to say. Could be months, maybe even years. Can't give you an accurate assumption without a thorough examination of this facility." He said before looking over the damage. "I'm a bit worried about whoever caused this much damage and took down an entire facility filled with criminals."
"You mean because they could be a villain or a vigilante being down villains on their own?"
"Both are bad, but I'm more towards them being a villain than a vigilante. I mean sure they didn't kill anyone, but the state that the people who were attacked by this black creature look like they had their life sucked out of them. Even with the help, they might be suitable to return to hero society both physically and mentally."
"You think they attack a hero if they try to apprehend them?"
"I wouldn't be surprised if they end up like the victims in this place if they do." Tsukauchi before heading off into the facility. "I'll be sure to send the report to the Hero Commissioners about this. Until then, I'll be having a look around to see if there's a clue as to what happened here." All Might nodded upon hearing this as he moved over to the entrance of the facility. He soon looked up at the night sky.
"I hope this isn't an omen for something worse to come for this country."
Musutafu City
The lesser fellpool made her way into the city of Musutafu. To her surprise, the city was quite lively even though it was nighttime. Then again, she knows that some stores and businesses were still open during this time. So it shouldn't surprise her for the most part. But how rare is it to find a planet that was somewhat similar to Earth in the past? A grin appeared on her face knowing that this would be a marvelous find for Kronos. Not to mention a fucking huge paycheck for finding a new planet.
"Man, it's been a long time since I've seen a low-level planet with somewhat decent technology," Nelsha said as she scanned the city from on top of a nearby building. "I can't wait to see what this place has to offer~," She said before hopping off the building and landing in a dark alleyway. The moment she landed in the alleyway, she casually made her way out like nothing happened, and blended in with the people who were minding their own business or making their way to work. "Vi, where's the closest store in this city?"
"Across from where you're standing. It should have the required food that you'll need. I recommend getting a lot of protein drinks and protein bars for Ms. Midoriya to help regain some energy that was lost during the nomu transfiguration."
"How much are we talking about?"
"I say about three boxes full of each. That and a lot of meat, vegetables, and sweets."
"Geez, was the transfiguration that bad?"
"Malnourishing the body to the point of having no muscles and having their brain diminish as if they have Alzheimer's. Yes, but lucky for us, the damage to her brain isn't permanent seeing how we got to her in time before the final phase."
"Well, that's a good thing out of it…along with having an above-normal body." She said before summoning a mask to cover her face as making her way toward the entrance of the store. A gust of cold air gently hit her face the moment the doors to the store opened as she entered. Upon entering, she scans the area to see that there weren't that many people inside it. This makes sense seeing how it's nighttime and people are either leaving or making their way to work. The lesser fellpool reached for a shopping cart as she began her journey into the store. "So this is how earth stores were in the past. I mean I've seen recordings and models of it, but I've never been in an actual store like this…it's kind of giving me goosebumps."
"The kind where you get from fighting, or the kind where you find something interesting to explore?"
"The exploring part." She said before going down each aisle to collect the necessary food Midoriya needs. "Might make this a place to look after if we can get in contact with Kronos. Speaking of them, how are we doing in picking up a signal from them?"
"Still nothing on my end at the moment. I'll have to increase the signal range, though that might prove to be an issue if this planet picks up on it."
"Normally I would say to take the ship deep into space, but that might prove to be an issue if you get attacked by space pirates or worse." She said before picking up a bag of shrimp-flavored chips. "Do what you must, but try to make it so that you do it every few hours. That way they'll think it might be a glitch in their systems for a while."
"Acknowledge…I know Japan has its weirdness when it comes to food, but humans come up with the strangest foods." Vi said as he looked over at the items in the aisle they were walking through. "Wasabi flavored kit kat bars, toilet candy, salmon gummies…I mean I know you'll be fine, but are you sure Izumi will be okay to eat this stuff?"
"Well if the humans of this planet can eat this stuff, then I'm sure she can too," Nelsha said before using her tail to place said items into the cart. "Plus I always wanted to see how good this stuff is."
"If you insist…I'll be sure to have first aid on the side if you get sick," Vi said as Nelsha rolled her eyes and continued walking around the store. As she was walking, her ears picked up the sounds of people whispering around. Mostly ranging from idle chit-chat about pointless things, but some were about her. Mainly because she had a mask covering her face, or thinking that she might be a criminal due to how she looked. She paid it no mind, not like it mattered to her what humans thought of her. All that mattered was getting what she needed from the store for Izumi. Though that was a challenge within itself seeing how the alien was somewhat intrigued by a lot of the other weird food combinations in the store. Within a matter of thirty minutes, the cart she was pushing had an assortment of meats, fish, candy, fruits, vegetables, and protein-related drinks and energy bars. The moment Nelsha made her way up to the counter, the cashier was taken by surprise by the number of items she had in her cart.
"Um…"
"What? I need this stuff for training purposes." Nelsha said as the young man looked at her for a moment before ringing up the items she had in the cart.
"I take it you're training for the entrance exam to get into U.A.?" He asked which took the alien off guard for a moment before quickly nodding.
"Yeah, gotta train if I want to become a hero just like All Might and stuff." She said while holding back her disgust for saying that.
"I hear that. Wish I could get the chance to be a hero, but I can't due to health problems." He said while bagging up the alien's groceries. "I was born with a weak heart and lungs. So trying to become a hero was straight out of the question. Makes me a bit jealous of kids nowadays. Though, I think I prefer living a normal life to facing off against a villain and whatnot. But I do respect those who want to become a hero."
"Huh, never would've noticed that you would have those problems just by looking at you."
"Yeah, I kind of learned how to work around that problem. Hence why I take the night shift instead of the day. Not many people come here and I don't have to worry about large crowds of people flooding the store." He said before finishing up. "That will be twenty-thousand eight hundred nine yen and five cents please." The man said as he watched the alien swipe the card through the device that was on the side of the register. Off to the side was a jar with the words tip on it as the lesser fellpool looked over at the young man.
"Is there a limit to how many or how much money wise you can tip you can give a person?"
"No, there's no limit to that. Why do you ask?" He asked as he noticed the girl reaching into her pocket and placing what he could guess was about one thousand dollars in yen. The man blinked in surprise upon seeing this as he looked over at the tip jar for a few seconds before looking at Nelsha who lifted her mask for a brief second to wink at him.
"Keep it, you earned it more than anyone else here." She said before placing the mask back over her face and began making her way out of the store with her food. The moment she pushed the cart outside and made her way into the alleyway she was in before, the items inside soon vanished in a burst of light due to Vi teleporting them to the cave near the beach. "Mission accomplished. Got the food that we need and kept a minimal profile."
"Which I am surprised about, given how you are," Vi said as Nelsha rolled her eyes at his comment. "Would you like for me to teleport you back to the cave, or would you like to walk back?"
"I'll walk back. Shouldn't take long and I need to stretch my legs out a bit more."
"Acknowledged. If you change your mind, let me know and I will teleport you back. Just make sure you don't cause trouble."
"Oh come on, since when have I ever caused trouble on purpose?" She asked as there was a moment of silence between her and the AI.
"...No comment."
"Oh, fuck you sound bite!" Nelsha said before cutting the conversation short. "Like I would get into trouble just because I'm going for a short walk around town." The moment she was about to jump up onto a nearby building's roof, her ears picked up the sound of a punch being landed followed by something hard hitting the ground. Nelsha's ears moved around a bit before picking up where the sound was coming from as she decided to head over to where the sound came from within the alleyway she was in. The moment she found where the sound came from, she noticed a group of people as she quickly pulled herself back from around the corner she came from.
From what Nelsha could see, she noticed a girl with dirty blonde hair wearing a school uniform being pinned against the wall by a large gutted by a bulky-looking boy wearing similar school uniforms but were suited for males and were black instead of what the girl was wearing.
"I'm warning you, jerks. If you don't let me go, I'm going to-"
"You'll do what? Call the police on us or a hero?" The boy said as he smirked down at her.
"Everyone in school knows about what you did, freak. Who would come and save a monster like you after sucking the blood from that guy you attacked." He said as the girl glared at him. "Oh, what a villainous look you're giving me~"
"Very villainous. That's something that needs to be corrected." said the boy with eel-like features as he made his way over to where the girl was and eyed her up and down. "Something that up-and-coming heroes like ourselves should do ~"
"Not surprised that there would be kids this corrupted to do something like this," Nelsha whispered before contacting Vi. "Hey, sound bite. I need you to do something." She said as Vi's face appeared next to her.
"I wish you could stop calling me that. It's very racist towards AIs."
"Yeah and so are your off-handed comments about humans in power being corrupted. Which is not far from the truth considering what I'm seeing right now." She said while motioning to the group of boys ganging up on the schoolgirl. "I need you to do a quick scan on them."
"Are you planning on killing them?" Vi asked as he began to scan the group of teens. "Because if you are, then hiding the bodies won't be that difficult."
"Tempting, but no. Not worth the effort or challenge. But taking whatever they have might help in my favor." Nelsha said as she looked over at the group as they began to rip off pieces of the girl's clothing. "I'm going to break their dreams of becoming heroes."
"Hm, I suppose that's the more humane way of dealing with the problem." He said before finishing up his analysis. "All six are students that graduated middle school and are planning on taking the entrance exam for emission into U.A High School. Two of them are emitters, while the others are mutation quirks."
"What kind of quirks do they have?"
"The emitters control earth and dark energy. While the others are mutants based on sea creatures."
"Interesting. Might use the soul phase on the two emitters." She said as a symbology circle appeared in front of her after raising her hand a bit. "Which ones are the emitters?"
"The boy that's pinning the girl against the wall, and one off to the side watching while playing with himself in his pants."
"No surprise there." She said before moving from around the corner, focusing her attention on the girl and creating a barrier around her. The boy that was holding her was pushed back from the force of the barrier appearing out of nowhere.
"The hell? Where did this barrier come from?" He asked before looking at his friends who shrugged in confusion. The boy soon glared over at the girl as she raised her hands in defense.
"Don't look at me, I didn't make it. Though I'm not complaining seeing how you're out there and I'm safe in here~" She said as the fat boy's hand was engulfed in darkness as he slammed his fist into the barrier. The attack made contact, but the barrier stood strong as he gritted his teeth at how sturdy it was.
"You little slut. When I'm done breaking this barrier apart, I am going to make sure you won't be walking out of this alleyway-" Before he could finish, the boy was suddenly sent flying off to the side by an empty trash can being thrown at him. Both the girl and the group of thugs were taken by surprise by this as they looked over from the side to see Nelsha made her known to them by coming over to them.
"Well, this is a surprise. A group of boys ganging up on an innocent girl. Guess no matter where you go, scummy people are always everywhere. Especially in dark places like this."
"Who the hell are you?" asked a thin-looking boy as the large boy slowly began to pull himself up while rubbing his face from the pain he felt.
"You're going to pay for that asshole." The large-looking boy said as he ordered two of his friends to charge at her. From what she could tell, one had the characteristic of a squid, while the other had a dog-like characteristic. The moment the squid was about to grab Nelsha with his tentacles, the alien quickly ducked underneath them, summoned up a pair of chef's butcher knives, and sliced his arms off. Just as the other boy was about to tackle Nelsha to the ground, she quickly flipped over him and sliced at the tendons in his arms and ankles causing him to go limp on the ground.
"You bastard!" yelled the eel-looking boy as he tried to attack Nelsha with a glass bottle he picked up from the ground. The moment he was in striking range, the lesser fellpool used her tail to grab the thug's wrist and quickly used the momentum of his attack to toss him off to the side and slam head-first into a wall next to them.
"You guys wanted to be up-and-coming heroes? With combat skills like this, you wouldn't last long in a fight." Nelsha said as she noticed the remaining two boys attempting to run off, only for the alien to stop them by summoning a revolver in her hand and firing a bullet at them. Upon being hit by the bullet, they both fell to the ground as they felt their muscles lock up from the electrical sensation flowing throughout their bodies.
"I don't know who you are, but you just made a terrible mistake, kid." The boy said as darkness started to form into his fists before tossing balls of dark energy at Nelsha. The alien quickly ducks underneath the first ball, but sends the second ball of energy right back at the boy with a trash can lid sitting right beside her. His eyes widen upon seeing his attack coming at him as he moves out of the way. The moment he did that, the ball bounced off of the barrier around the girl as the ball ricocheted off it, and hit the boy in the back of his head, knocking him unconscious.
"Well, that was…disappointing," Nelsha said as she snapped her fingers causing the barrier around the girl to disappear. "You okay? You're not hurt are you?"
"Ugh, this is so embarrassing." The girl said as she noticed Nelsha looking at her. "To think I would be saved by a hero. Let me guess, you work with Nighteye or something?"
"...Excuse me?"
"I know someone has been keeping their eyes on me ever since that incident back at school three months ago. But come on, this is borderline harassment with how a hero is watching over me every second during the day and sometimes at night."
"I'm not a hero, just a person who notices someone is in trouble, so I figured I would help," Nelsha answered as the girl gave the alien a suspicious look. "What? You expect me to just stand there and watch?"
"Maybe, usually people would just ignore what was going on and let a hero do the saving. Not to mention using your quirk without a hero license is illegal, so you can see why I'm a bit…suspicious on why you would help and use your quirk like that."
"Yeah, I tend to not follow the rules when someone is in trouble," Nelsha said before walking over to the knocked-out boy. "You got a name?"
"Himiko Toga," Toga said before walking over to the alien while keeping her distance a bit. "What about you?"
"Nelsha Atlus," She said before kneeling and removing the bandages around her hand. It gave off a sickly dark-purple glow as she slowly inserted her hand into the boy's body. Within a matter of seconds, she pulls out a black color ball covered in a dark aura. She soon used her other hand to move the aura of it and placed it back into the unconscious boy. Toga blinked upon seeing what the lesser fellpool was doing as she watched her do the same to the boy that she shot with a paralysis bullet. What is doing with her hand? What were those strange glowing balls she pulled out of them? Was this her quirk at work? Questions upon questions filled her head upon seeing what she was doing as Nelsha placed the topaz color orb into her pocket.
"What did you just do?"
"Oh just taking something from them so I can test something out." She said before reaching into her pocket and handing over money that was equivalent to five-hundred dollars. "You might want to get a new pair of clothing before heading back home or something."
"...Seriously, what is your game? No one just hands over this much money to a stranger they just met."
"I don't have a game or motive for what I'm doing. If I see someone in trouble, then I'm going to help them. That's it. I don't expect anything in return for doing something nice." Nelsha said before moving up close to Toga and placing the money in the girl's hand. "Take the money and get yourself something nice." She said before turning around and beginning to walk away. "Vi, teleport me back to the beach." The moment Toga was about to reach out to the alien, particles of light appeared around her as Nelsha vanished. The schoolgirl blinked upon seeing this as she soon turned her attention to the wad of money that she had in her hands.
"Nelsha Atlus…What an odd girl." Toga said before looking at the group passed out on the ground. She soon made her way over the boy that pinned her against the wall. A grin appeared on her face before reaching into her sock to pull out a pocket knife. "I may not be able to kill you at this time, but that doesn't mean I can cripple you all to the point you can't be pro heroes anymore~"
