"Pound it!" Ladybug smiled as she bumped her fist against Cat's, then wiped her brow. "I'm going home to cool down, Kitty. See you soon!" Cat waved, and sighed. Time to head to Marinette's.

"Hey," Marinette grinned at him as she watered her flowers. "Spray me," Cat begged. "In this hot suit, I feel like a roasted Cat." Marinette giggled turning the hose to the mist setting, and duck under it herself.

To dry off they both lay on the balcony floor. "I think we've been laying here for a hour already," Cat told her, as they both stared up at the fluffy clouds between the blue. "Yeah. But its nice being able to chat like this. No one rushing off, no worries about detransforming…." Marinette gave a silent sigh. One day, she and Cat would know who each other was, and the days of all this secrecy would be at a end. As if answering her thoughts, Cat spoke up. "Hawkmoth is the worst." "Yeah. But think about Kitty. If there wasn't Hawkmoth, do you think you and Ladybug would have met each other?" Cat was quiet. "I-I guess I didn't think about that way." Cat's throat tightened, thinking about if something bad were to happen to Marinette or his Bugaboo. "I kind of want a hug." "Me too," Marinette blurted out, without thinking. Cat was her very best friend, after all. Cat reached out his paw, intertwining it with Marinette's as they countined to stare at the sky. Marinette squeezed his hand gently. "Close enough?" Cat murmed. Marinette felt her cheeks turn pink. Cat's hand always made her feel peaceful, and she knew she could get used to this feeling. "Yes."

Before they went downstairs to the AC and the promise of cookies, Marinette hugged Cat tightly. "I'm glad we're best friends, Kitty."
