Day Six: Rescue/Kidnapping

(This is based on gravity maxx's comic that she made back in November with a little twist)

Chat Noir felt satisfied with how much ground he'd covered today during patrol. He was surprised by how well he did by himself. All in a day's work of being a super awesome superhero, he thought to himself. It was weird that Monarch hadn't sent out an akuma so Ladybug and Chat Noir had been extra thorough on their patrols.

Just as Chat was about to leave, a bright light came from behind him. He heard a distorted voice call out. He turned and saw a screen displaying an image of a weird room with a big butterfly window in the background. Chat Noir felt his stomach drop when he saw Marinette on the screen, crying.

"Chat, I'm scared. Please help me!" she cried out desperately. A hand shoved her out of the way and turned the camera to face him. Monarch, Chat thought, angrily. The madman grinned as he started talking.

"You heard your little friend. Handover your miraculous and your partner's, and I promise I'll let her go." Before Chat could say anything the screen disappeared. He cursed under his breath. He tried to protect Marinette by distancing himself from her, but Monarch still had her.

Okay, calm down Chat. You need to come up with a plan and fast. How could he safely get Marinette out of Monarch's lair without her getting hurt? Chat wished Ladybug was there. She'd come up with a good plan or at least calm him down enough to think of one. He sat there in thought when a mechanical butterfly flew into his face.

Chat picked it up cautiously and saw a message attached to it that read: You have two hours before I get bored. Bring me the miracuoluses at the catacombs. Me and your girlfriend are waiting. That's when Chat came up with a genius idea. ~

Marinette sat in the dark, working as slowly as possible on the rope that restrained her hands. She had been working for the past hour to try and fool him into thinking she was scared and weak so that he'd leave her alone. Her plan worked, and now, she was struggling to free herself as quickly as possible. She was terrified during the entire process, but she had to push past that to save Chat Noir from getting hurt.

She couldn't let Chat come here and face Monarch all on his own. There was no way for him to get Ladybug's miraculous since it was with her so he'd come and try to fight off Monarch all on his own. She didn't want him to hurt himself in his attempts to save her.

Marinette felt the ropes finally start to loosen when she heard voices coming from a hallway. She instantly recognized Chat Noir's voice and panicked. She started working on the ropes that tied her feet and legs together. I have to get out of here fast! was the only thought running through her head. She made quick work of the ropes and hid around a corner.

The voices coming from grew closer. Marinette kept pressing herself further into the catacomb walls, hoping Monarch wouldn't spot her first. The two men entered the room and were shocked to find Marinette had vanished. Chat Noir scanned the room and spotted her in the corner. As Monarch was trying to figure out what was going on, Chat raced over and picked her up in his arms. He ran out of the catacombs without looking back.~

When they arrived on Marinette's balcony, Chat Noir wanted to cry with relief. Marinette was okay, and Monarch didn't get the miraculous. Chat had managed to fake him out with fake Ladybug earrings from a child's dress-up set. The villain had been so excited that Chat had brought it to him that he forgot to check if it was real or not.

As soon as Marinette's feet were on solid ground, Chat clung to her like there was no tomorrow. She held him equally as tight, almost like she was trying to reassure him that she was there. After a few minutes, Chat started to let go of her, but Marinette still held on tightly to him. He sighed, "Princess, I have to go."

"Can't you just stay? At least for a few more minutes," her eyes pleaded with him, saying more than her words ever could. She had been scared, and she still was. It hurt Chat to know that he hadn't been there to protect her. You can let yourself stay for a while, Chat. It won't hurt anyone.

He pulled her back into a hug and whispered in her ear, "Okay. I'll stay until you fall asleep." He picked her back and carried her down into her bedroom. Chat would allow himself to love her one more night before he ended it forever.

(Has anyone looked up a picture of the catacombs in Paris cause 'Yikes' are they creepy. I'm finally free from school so it's time to start writing again. Yay!)
