I watch Cat's facial expressions as he digests this information. "But I haven't even proposed yet," he tells me. "I know, I just found out this morning, when you were in the village. Its a shock to me to, Kitty. I just hope I'll be around to give birth." "You will be, I'll make sure of it. I'm really going to be a Daddy?" "That means diapers and screaming, but yes, it does." "Then I'd better do this before we have anymore surprises," Cat says, and he gets down on one knee. I cover my mouth as he draws out the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I've loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?"

I couldn't pick the worst time to make a joke, but I do. "Are you sure you don't just love me because I give you tuna?" "Bugaboo." "Okay. Yes, Of course, I'll marry you." Cat gives me a long sweet kiss, and even if the world is upside down right now, I feel a warm glow in my heart. "I hate to cut this short, but I really do need to be getting to bed."

In the morning, I wake early, and start to get ready for the day. Tikki files over to me excitedly. "Marinette, come look what I found!" "I'm right behind you, little one," I laugh, and then think about how that's true. Instead of Adrien being the center of my world, now my heart has grown for more love in my heart for my son or daughter. Creaks and groans from the wind, make me shiver, and I glance up at Tikki. "Just through that door. I'm going to go wake Plagg."

I step into a room and see myself, dozens of times over. Mirrors. A line of mirrors, and there all staring back at me. I press my hand to the cool glass, a bit disappointed that my hand doesn't go through to the other side like it does in books. Feeling slightly tired even after the short walk, I sit down to rest for a moment.

I don't know if I have a dream or vision, but I like what I see next. In the mirror is Cat and I and carbon copies of ourselves and I feel an instant recongiton with the mirrored people. Those are my children…..

"Mommy, I poked my finger again!" Emma wails and crawls up into my lap, where I am sitting in the rocking chair. "You need to learn how to take your time, Emma. It will also help you to be a good ladybug." Emma wipes her eyes, just as her father walks in. "Did someone get a owie?" Cat leans forward and gives the poked finger a gentle kiss. "You made it all better, Daddy. Thank you." I hug Emma to my chest as I rock in my chair. "I don't like owies," Hugo says, seriously. I giggle. "Owies happen, honey. But usually, they only hurt for a little while." "I like hugs and kisses better," he tells me shyly, then burrows into his daddy's shoulder. "Me too, sweetie. Me too."

The mirror swirls with a sort of fog, but then the fog disappeared to find pregnant again, and my children are a bit older. "Only swing into the tree, Emma. Your not ready to go swinging onto the rooftops yet." "Yes, Mama."

Cat drops onto the grass beside me and rubs my belly. "How's my Bugaboo and our future heroes doing?" Suddenly, Cat looks at Hugo who is tugging at Daddy's tail. "Papa, I want use the C word on the rock, but I don't want to destroy it without your permission." Hugo's lip is trembling, and Cat cuddles him close as he looks at me in confusion. "Bugaboo, what's the C word?" "Cataclysm." Cat keeps Hugo in his arms as he inspects the ground, looking for something. "Ah, this should do the trick." Picking up a small rock, he sets Hugo down. "You can use the word on this." Hugo can't quite say the word right, but it does the trick, and we clap.

The mirror goes back to normal, and sit there thinking. Is that to be my future, if the world isn't destroyed first? I realize if I only have so much time left, then I better make the most of it. Making my way back to "camp" I see that Cat has started to make oatmeal. A sudden flood of emotions comes over me. Even in the future, Cat is as gentle and loving as he is now. He really is my perfect soulmate, my other half.

A boom of thunder makes me gently, and instinctively I place a hand on my belly. "Ah, there you are. Tikki said you were taking a walk." "Yeah, it was nice. You want to dance, Kitty? The rain makes lovely music, don't you think?" "The oatmeal has to cool anyway."

As we sway in a circle, I tell Cat about the mirror room. "I look forward to that happening. You think I'm going to be a good dad?" "The best ever." "I'm a bit scared, Marinette." "Don't worry, I'm scared too. This is all so new for both of us. But as always, we'll do it together." I tire easily, and Cat, bless him, spoon-feeds me my oatmeal.

When we get back to the temple, I ask Cat, "Before you go see to your mother, will you send Sumac?" "Of course."

Sumac's face is wreathed in smiles, and I think she's excited to have a baby to play with the near future. Both Adrien and I are only children, but you can still get lonesome. Sumac is eager to countine her sewing lessons, and I'm only happy to teach her.

"You want to know a secret?" I tell her during lunch. She nods. "Whenever I had a bad day or missed Cat or Adrien, I would throw myself into my sewing. I always felt comforted by the repeated movements." "Tell me again the time you knitted and gave Adrien the scarf, but he thought it was from his dad." I laugh and take a sip of my broth with noodles. "Okay."

Its fun reliving the fun memories of the early days of being Ladybug and getting to know Adrien. After I finish the story, Sumac is quiet. "Marinette?" "Yes?" "What's going to happen once Emile wakes up?" "Adrien and I will marry hve the baby and we;"Adrien and I will marry, and I'll have the baby and we'll live happily ever after." "Do you think I could help?" I smile and take her hand gently. "Are you lonesome here?" "Not always, but yes." "I'll think about it when the times comes." "You look tired, Marinette. Maybe you should get some rest."

It doesn't take me long to fall asleep…..

I can hear my heels making music as I make my way out into the ballroom. I'm in a elegant dress, my hair in a updo, but I feel so out of place. My eyes roam the room, until they rest on a boy with gentle green eyes and mischefouvus grin. He walks toward me, and bows. "Good evening, My Lady. Care to dance with a furball like me?" "Just keep me on my feet, you know how clusmy I can be." As long as I'm in Cat's arms I'm safe and happy, but someone catches my eye in a dark corner of the room, and I trip and fall, tearing my dress. I look around to find everyone staring, and I feel the sting of tears building in my eyes…..

When I wake from my dream, I find myself on the floor and it hurts. But I'm cradled in Cat's arms. "You fell out of bed, Marinette. You were tossing and turning." Real tears slide down my cheeks. "We were dancing you and I, and someone scared me and I fell." "Don't worry, it wasn't real, and everything's fine."

Cat gently places me back in bed, but I clung to his arm with all my strength. "Please, don't leave me!" "Sh, I'm not going anywhere. Claws In." Adrien takes a moment to lock the door, and sheds his shirt and pants, then crawls into bed with me, holding me close. "Kitten," I sniff, burying my face in his chest, breathing in the scent of skin. "Why am I so scared?" "Because your dealing with emotions you've never dealt with before. This is all perfectly natural." I just cling tighter. "How about you lay down and I'll rub your back?" I nod, and as Adrien begins to work at my muscles, my body relaxes from the colied spring postion. I don't know when I fall asleep again, but I do.

"Hey," Adrien's face is the first thing that greets me, and I feel drool on the side of my face. "Oh, gosh, did I drool on you?" "Don't worry about that." "What time is it?" "Middle of the night. But you need your sleep." "Guess so." I find Adrien's hand, lacing our fingers together. "Will you tell me a bedtime story?" Adrien chuckles gently. "Well, Bugaboo, there are so many. How could I possible choose?" I feebly whack him with a pillow. "Remember when I hated you calling me Bugaboo?" "I don't think you or your adorable angry little pout would let me forget it." I giggle, then wince. "Is the baby moving?" "Yeah, it just used the yo-yo." "May I touch your stomach and say hello?" I nod, slipping back the sheet.

"Claws Out. Meow-llo, in there. I hope your safe and warm. I want to know you have the best mommy in the world." "daddy too," I whisper. "I know you have lots to do in there, so have fun." A movement from my belly sends me clutching the sheets. "Cat, it hurts. Distract me with something, please." "How about a kiss?" Before I can answer, Cat is carefully pressing a kiss to my lips.
