The sun seemed to shine bright. It was a bright new day for Sasuke who was cooking breakfast for himself and his daughter who was still sleeping. He lives in this penthouse along with his daughter Kei and their black cat.

Soft music was playing in the background as he was frying some bacon and eggs, as Kei walked out of her room and sat down beside him at the table. She was wearing her school uniform which was white and had a brown skirt, as she was rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Morning Dad"

He smiled at her fatherhood and made him soft, especially with his daughter. He gave her a nod and placed her plate filled with bacon and eggs on the table.

She thanked him and ate happily. He took a sip of his hot coffee and looked at his daughter who was devouring her food with relish. "Kei"

She raised an eyebrow in reply. "What is it Dad?"

"Do you remember your teacher calling you by your first name?

"Yes, she likes my name," she beamed at him.

"she told me I'm going to meet lots of other kids when she teaches me to write kanji and maths, but I'm excited to do so"

Her father's face softened looking at his little girl, the one that always smiled even though she don't want to show her emotions but her father always noticed everything about her

They will leave the house after they finish breakfast. He will drop her to the school and he will go to his office. Once they are finished with their day's work they will come home and will talk about their day.

They would then have dinner together in their house while watching tv and eating. Sometimes they will eat together with their cats, or sometimes they will just sit down in silence as the only thing that is making their day interesting, but most importantly they will enjoy each other's company.

"Today is a dance day at school. Will you come, Dad? Kei asked as she held his hand.

Sasuke thought for a moment before answering "Sure, we can go to the mall afterward and then we could watch a movie?" he asked his daughter,

Kei nodded her head happily then finished her breakfast and went to her room to get ready. Sasuke also finished his breakfast and headed to the living room picking up the car key.

Leaving the house they entered the lift kei was singing the poem that she learned in her school song while her father listened to the melody his lips twitched slightly in amusement.

After entering the elevator Kei took off her school blazer as Sasuke put on his suit jacket, buttoned the top button as they exited the elevator into their car, and headed to the school.

The car ride was silent as Kei looked out the window. Her face was full of happiness. It was such a nice day the sun seemed to shine brighter than ever and Kei enjoyed the beautiful sight that she saw outside. It made her feel like she was back in the village where she lived until a few months ago.

Sasuke used to take her to the village on holidays and walkouts. Those places she would spend time with her grandmother and grandfather, uncle Itachi and Aunt Izumi would also join them.

The family would have picnics and play tag in the village. Even if her cousins came along, the family was happy to see each other again. It felt like there was no place that was not happy when they were together.

Even if her cousins weren't as loud as them.

"I will see you at 12 pm for the dance! " she kissed her fathers cheeks and left the car.

He waved her goodbye , making sure to watch her until she went inside the building."Love you!" she shouted before walking away

"Love you too" he replied back and went to his office. He was late enough to the meeting already, he didn't need to be any earlier.

Sasuke was running late to the meeting.

"father duties? " he heard itachi behind who smiled at him and he just nodded at his elder brother . He continued running towards his meeting room as he passed people and stopped in front of the room, opening the door to find it was already empty. He closed the door and sat on the chair taking a deep breath he looked around and realised he forgot something important, "the presentation"

. The last meeting started five minutes ago and they were supposed to have been discussing their plans to implement the new products that were approved by the council. And now he forgot to give his presentation and the committee decided to send another person with him, 'I'm gonna be today'

His father was disappointed in him. He just pressed the bridge of his nose and looked at Sasuke and Itachi who had apologetic smiles on their faces whereas Sasuke was trying his best not to roll his eyes.

"I want you to make the presentation and present it" he just said those words and sasuke sighed in defeat.

"sasuke I know you are a good father but work is also important" itachi put his hand on his sasuke shoulder before reviewing the room.

Sasuke sat on the couch itachi sat beside him joining him "father hood is something else" Sasuke muttered. "It isn't even my fault the presentation was forgotten."

Itachi laughed and pat his brothers head "you got this, just follow through"

Sasuke rolled his eyes at his father before grabbing his bag and standing up, "let's go"

The dark glooms take over the sky , clouds cover the bright sun and rain falls down heavily, lightning flashes every now and then.

But it wasn't raining, the sky was grey and cold, as Sasuke stood outside waiting impatiently. The weather didn't help his mood in any way, but as he was a man who never let anything stop him from doing things.

Sasuke typed the words on his computer feeling tired and exhausted already . His fingers started trembling as he was typing and he needed a break. But it wouldn't happen, he couldn't afford to waste the hours he worked hard for. He was already late for his appointment with the board and the chairman of the committee.

So he continues to type faster.

He looked at the sky. It was 1:00. He was late. He could feel and see the rain outside faster. His daughter was waiting for him in the school. He had to see her dance show today and he missed that chance.

He looked at the screen before him to make sure he did what he typed correctly. He was right. He was very late but he couldn't stay here longer, and the meeting started in 15 minutes. He hurriedly grabbed his coat and ran out the room. Just before closing the door.

His clothes were soaked wet in the rain as he ran towards his car and opened the door and got inside. The warm air blew over his body as he took off his wet shoes and placed them under the seat.

As soon as he parked the car inside the parking lot he rushed inside the school trying to catch his breath from the running.

He saw Kei standing with her teacher waiting for him . As soon as his daughter saw him she immediately ran towards him hugging his legs and kissing his cheek.

He hugged his daughter tight as he kisses the top of her head and said "I am sorry"

His little girl smiled and said "its okay dad i am glad you're finally here"

She faked her smile. He knew that she didn't want him to worry so she faked her emotions. He was a bad father. He couldn't fulfil his promise. He has promised that he will always protect her, and he failed miserably. He looked up and saw that she was staring intently on her shoes and he was scared to ask his child what was wrong because he feared that she would cry, and that won't do since he loves his daughter so much he couldn't.

"we will buy a cake and go home I am sorry I have made you wait"

"No, it's okay Dad! "

He gave his daughter one last squeeze before letting go of her and ruffling her hair. She giggled as she tried to fix her messy hair and said bye to her teacher.

She laughed as she also felt her clothes being wet in the rain. He chuckled at her silliness and they hurriedly got to the car where she played the music on the radio.

"How was your dance? "

"It was good," she hummed as she looked out of the window. She saw that the rain had stopped now but still was cold to the touch. She snuggled more into the warmth of her father's jacket. She had to thank her father later, for teaching her how to keep herself warm.

It was a child's originality for her; she adored her father so much.

He mumbled as he picked up Kei who fell asleep on the car seat only to receive her seatbelt and pick her in his arms trying to make sure that she wouldn't wake up. He wanted her to sleep as she already had a long and tiring day.

But he didn't wanted her to sleep empty stomach because he knew at night she would wake up and come to his room and ask for food and he was so tired that he didn't want to cook for her, especially at midnight he decide to wake her up once they reach the penthouse and he will make her something that is light and can fill her stomach.

He saw the city lights of the Tokyo city it looked magnificent to him he heard the elevator stop at his penthouse he went inside and saw the lights in the living room were on he must have forgotten to switch them off he signed and placed Kei on the couch where she lied without any worries and lost in her daydream.

He took out a light pink blanket for Kei and tucked her on the couch comfortably. He will soon for her. Once he was finished after having a shower he kissed the top of her head and went toward his bathroom so he could have a warm shower and shake some thoughts of his mind.

She refused her favourite food which was a shock to him he never saw her behaving like this.

"why? I thought you liked cinnamon rolls" he drove the car toward the right. He saw the bakery going away from their sights. He wasn't going to force her to eat food since it would go to waste if she refused to say no.

He didn't like sweets.

But she likes sweets.

"So she is asking for a mother?"

Naruto asked Sasuke nodded at him as he sipped his coffee. Sakura was cuddling her baby who was close to sleep. Kei was at school . She had breakfast in the morning but she still tried to throw tantrums at sasuke.

Who convinced her that if she behaves like a good child then he will take her to Mikoto and Fugaku for dinner and she can play with her cousin and meet all of her family members which she agreed to.

He decided to take a break from office after Kei left for the school he texted Naruto and sakura to come over so they could talk about the situation with Kei they understood Kei like sasuke and they were his only friend who could advice him good at it since they also had a 3 year old son.

He didn't wish to ask Itachi for advice since it would cause him trouble; they would advise him to get married and give Kei a stepmom, which he didn't want to do. It's not like his new wife would hate Kei but he doesn't want someone to come between him and Kei.

He can't love other women if he learns to love her he doesn't put Kei behind he wants Kei to be his priority what if she has a child after marriage Kei is not comfortable with their new child or his jew wife will ruin everything for him he doesn't want Kei to cry over his stupid mistake.

"If she is refusing to eat food then it would harm the immune and digestive system. She already has a weak immune system" Sakura said as she walked towards and put her hand on his shoulder trying to think of something.

Sakura worked as a doctor. She checks Kei every month when they go for their child's check-up. She is like a mother fur to Kei and she also adores her a lot like she loves mikoto, ino, Izumi

and her other grandmother Tsunade.

"she also does not listen to the doctor and she thinks you are tough and not sweet when you work as a daughter" he pressed the brigade of his nose in frustration.

"I know a doctor, she is a child specialist, she is goSakKids Kids" Sakura checked her phone to look for the child doctor's number. It made sasuke a lot up a little bit.

"I will pay her a good amount of money if she is ready to work with Kei and me!"

"money is not a problem she is already age and she only takes one client at a time sometimes she pays a home visit for the kids" Sakura knitted her eyebrows together

Naruto just heard them talking without interrupting anything. He played with his sleeping child who just looked like him but he had sakura green eyes and a little bit of facial features as if he was a hyper kid just like Naruto.

"she must be an angel then if she likes children!" Sasuke mumbled.

She laughed at his words "Yeah she is an angel"

"then let me know if I can hire her"

The swing made a sound every time Kei moved her legs which made her feel uncomfortable but sasuke didn't seem to notice as he walked toward the playground.

"Dad, do I look like mom? " kei whispered as she turned her head towards the little girl standing next to the swings.

"Hm?" Sasuke responded.

"Do I look like her? Like her at all? "...Kei mumbled.

Kei looked like her mother. She had the same hair as her eyes. She had a soft spot. She was stubborn like her mom and she had the same smile and laughs she inherited from her mother... Her personality though is a bit different...

She is loud and brash a lot of the time she can get annoying... She likes to cause mischief when she's bored... She is a little reckless when she doesn't understand rules sometimes...

Sasuke drifted into his thoughts as he saw the moon being faded by the black clouds. The smell of the resin lingered around the area.

He had a feeling that the air would turn cold once the night arrived but he paid little attention to his surroundings because all he could feel and hear was the warmth of Kei's presence. His heartbeat increased as he slowly approached the swing.

"your mother is still with us in her memories"

"...I never had a mother.."Kei muttered with a pout "

I'm sorry... I didn't want to make you sad.."

"...you didn't make me sad" sasuke spoke softly, almost inaudible.

Kei tilted her head curiously. He rarely showed that side of him.

The first time Kei got sick he was the one who stayed the whole night. He didn't leave his bed when she woke up and didn't eat at all so that she wouldn't starve. He would stay with her in case she vomited... And he was there for her when she cried... He comforted her as she cried...

She was his daughter he would love and protect her no matter what happens

Sasuke's breath hitched as a small tear escaped his eye, he quickly wiped them away as if they hadn't fallen. But he knew he just couldn't bring himself to cry in front of others, especially if it meant showing weakness in front of Kei.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect your mother"

He hugged her and she just smiled she was feeling sleepy now and it felt so good to have him hold her close she didn't want to let him go

"It's okay Dad... I have you now don't I?"

"yeah. I guess"

Kei closed her eyes as a small weight lifted off her shoulders and she felt safe. He made everything better. She felt sleepy in her father's arms. It was her haven.

"Goodnight Daddy~ " she whispered, smiling softly as she nuzzled her nose into his shoulder.

"night baby" he whispered, kissing her forehead gently before letting go of her.

"Goodnight," he said with a slight smile. He looked forward to tomorrow and the days to come and to the day when her doctor will come back. He didn't want Kei to get sick.

"Mom was your fallen star, she gave birth to a whole universe to you" he whispered against her ears as she snored lightly. He carried her in her arms under the moonlight. He walked home along with his daughter who was sleeping without any problem or worries.

He walked to his penthouse door the fresh home fragrance greeted him He placed Kei on her bed with the warm comforter

over her and the blanket wrapped securely around her body he kissed her cheek gently brushing his nose against her cheek. He watched her sleep for a minute before leaving the room quietly.

It was 7:00 pm and it was almost dinner time. She again missed her dinner. It won't be good for her health if she keeps skipping dinner.

He entered the kitchen making sure not to wake up the kids and made some ramen. He put it on a plate, placed it on top of the fridge then went to his office to write his report.

He was writing everything down on the paper when he suddenly became stiff.

"Dad why aren't you asleep yet"

He turned around to see a half-asleep Kei who rubbed her eyes. They were puffy. He opened his arms she could and hugged him she ran towards him and hugged his stomach.

"you will be having a doctor with you"

He picked her forehead. It was the same tradition that he and Itachi used to do when he was younger he would feel pain whenever Itachi used to do that but now when he does it with Kei he could feel the connection that he used to feel with Itachi it was a father and daughter bond.

"Is she my doctor? "

They both heard the penthouse bell ringing.

"yes Naruto called me a few hours ago that she would be paying a visit during dinner time since she wanted to check your diet"

Sasuke answered as he got up from the seat to open the door but before she could open the door Kei already ran towards the door to open it. She would get excited whenever she used to have a new guest at her house.

As Kei opened the door sasuke stood beside her he looked at her he wasn't shocked but kind of surprised to see her he knew strikes children so it won't be a surprise if she will become a child doctor and it's much better he can her with Kei.

"It's you" he let her in. She just gave him a faint smile and looked at Kei who was hiding behind her father, now still shy and nervous.
