Kanemaru wonders what he should call it, Eijun's behaviors… or habits, that is.
He started noticing them when they first moved in together. He supposes it's one of those things about someone you don't realize until you actually live with them.
That thing in question?
Eijun is what you would call a couch hog. Spreading his entire body along the length of the couch. Whenever Kanemaru gets up to get something from the kitchen, or go to the bathroom, he always returns to find his seat taken up by Eijun's legs or head or… whatever.
It started as a mild inconvenience. One that he could ignore by either finding a different seat or pushing Eijun's legs away.
It wouldn't be bad if that was the end of it. But then he started moving into Kanemaru's space while he was still sitting there.
If Kanemaru leaned over, and his knee accidentally brushed against Eijun's leg, Eijun would shift just enough to press his upper body against Kanemaru's arm. If Kanemaru stretched out on the couch, Eijun would move even closer until his hip was against Kanemaru's thigh.
And all of this would be okay… if it wasn't in the middle of Kanemaru trying to do homework!
Eijun was supposed to be helping him study for their upcoming exams (not that Kanemaru expected much 'help' anyway, but that was another story), but instead he is sprawled across Kanemaru like a giant cat. His feet are wedged between the front and back cushions, and his arms are draped lazily across Kanemaru's lap.
His chin rests on top of his crossed arms, which had somehow ended up on Kanemaru's shoulder. It looks far from comfortable, let alone comfortable enough for sleep!
"Eijun," Kanemaru mumbles.
"Hmm… what is it?" Eijun asks without moving.
Kanemaru shifts his eyes to his laptop, which now sits on the coffee table across the room. "You do remember what we are supposed to be doing right now? Right?" He asks.
It takes a couple seconds, but Kanemaru could see the lightbulb go off in Eijun's mind when he makes the connection. "Oh right! You needed help with your homework!" Eijun says.
Eijun then pulls himself off of Kanemaru and sits right next to him in a more reasonable fashion. "You know I still don't get why you needed my help. Aren't you better at math than me?" Eijun asks.
"Eh, something like that," Kanemaru shrugs and grabs his computer off of tha table. He isn't going to mention the fact that the older Kominato brother threatened him to get Eijun's grades back up. 'If Eijun gets kicked off the university team…'
No, Kanemaru isn't going to think about that.
It isn't long before, again, Kanemaru finds Eijun leaning over his lap as the boy tries to look at something on his laptop screen.
"Oh, sorry," he says and moves his feet by bending his legs.
Kanemaru takes the opportunity to get back to completing the homework assignment on his laptop, only to find it pushed off his lap again seconds later.
