After the Omega had fallen asleep in his nest, Katsuki had stood up and left the room as calmly as he could, walking further until he was outside the cottage, turning to a tree and punching it with a small explosion, the bark of the tree flying off in charred splinters. He was furious, he felt as if the anger was burning through his skin. He barely held back his magic with how livid he was. How could someone do this to an Omega, it was inhumane and brutal. He swore if he had those pests in his hands, they would end up as cinders and ashes after he was done beating the ever-loving shit out of them. "Those fuckers!" He aimed another blow at the tree, the wood now splintering further in an explosion.

He needed to calm himself down, he wouldn't be able to help Izuku if he wasn't thinking clearly. He started to make his way to the village meeting hall to speak to the head Alpha, hoping to gain some more knowledge of the village Izuku had come from. He knew it was closer to the south, it was a small village that was very barbaric in its ways, it had taken a two days walk back to his village after finding the Omega. He had been as light as a feather, which was concerning, he was starting to get worried he would never wake up, the Omega had already been here for 3 days, and that was a total of 5 days the omega had been unconscious. Then there was the condition the Omega was in that Granny Chiyo had explained was caused by abuse. The number of wounds the Omega had would have long killed anyone else, and how he managed to survive so far stumped the healer. Izuku was a fighter, that's what Katsuki would believe and he hoped it stayed true.

When the Omega finally woke up, he felt such relief that he thought his legs would give out on him. He isn't sure why, but his health and safety was very important to him. He felt as if he was solely responsible for the smaller man. When the Omega had finally smiled, he felt a pull in his chest calling out to him, his inner Alpha begging him to smother the Omega in affection. He had to control himself in order not to overstep any boundaries like he did prior. It was unbecoming of an Alpha to touch an Omega without permission. Although he did have his suspicions as to why he felt this way but wasn't sure how to feel about that. He barely knew Izuku and always thought things like this needed a bond that was built through trust and time.

He needed to do something constructive before he tore himself apart thinking of what Izuku had gone through, so as he made it to the meeting hall, he knocked to announce himself before letting himself in. The head Alpha, Aizawa, was at the large table in the middle of the space with ceiling-high shelves full of books to his back. Aizawa looked up at Katsuki's entrance with a raised brow. "Did he finally wake up?"

Katsuki grunted in acknowledgment. "I was also able to get some information from him, and once I get my hands on those filthy heathens, they will wish they were never born. I knew they weren't exactly human, but I didn't think it was this bad." A growl left his throat.

Aizawa took in a deep breath through his nose before letting it out in a rush with the knowledge that his concerns were confirmed. "What did the Omega tell you?"

The blond began to reiterate what Izuku had told him about how Omegas were generally treated in the village, leaving out personal information because it wasn't his place to speak it to another. He wanted to honor what dignity the Omega had left. He deserved to be respected and treated with respect.

Aizawa rubbed his hand over his eyes, sighing heavily. "I don't understand why people would do things like this. Omegas are the backbone of any pack." He glanced down at the map on the desk. "A scout was able to determine the exact location of his old village. I want to ask for other packs to ally with us and go there to purge them. Who knows how many other Omegas they are treating like this? We can't possibly with a good conscience not help them."

With a jerk of a nod, the blonde crossed his arms. "I agree, we cannot allow such vermin to continue to live. What they did to Izuku is unspeakably vile. Who will you send as a messenger? I wish to stay behind and look after Izuku, he is still in a bad condition."

The head Alpha looked up at Katsuki with a lifted brow. "I'm sure there are others that can look after him? Why does it need to be you? Something you need to tell me?"

The smirk on Aizawa's face made Katsuki huff. "He isn't used to anyone else and he opened up to me, I don't want him to become distressed. I'm sure you can send hair for brains to request the help of the other packs.

With a pointer finger to his chin and a slight smirk on his lips, Aizawa nodded. "I guess you're right." He held up a knapsack for Katsuki. "Here, give this to Eijiro, it has all the letters for the other packs asking for allying forces. Please make sure he does it with haste, we cannot allow this to continue for too long, who knows what will happen between now and then."

Grabbing the knapsack, Katsuki made his way out of the hall and jogged to Eijiro's cabin. Once he arrived, he banged on the door. "Open up shitty hair!" He heard clunks and bangs before the door was quickly swung open.

On the other side of the threshold stood Eijiro, his hair up in disarray. "Yo Bakubro! What brings you here? You hardly ever visit! Come on in!" He stood to the side to allow Katsuki to enter, then closed the door.

Turning back around to face the redhead with a grave look on his face, he thrust the knapsack towards him. "This is not a social visit idiot, you have an assignment from the head Alpha." He stuffed his hands into his pockets after the other took the knapsack. "It's got to do with the Omega I brought in 3 days ago.

Eijiro's eyebrows shot up at the mention of the Omega."Did he finally wake up?" At Katsuki's grunt in affirmation, he furrowed his brows. "I'm guessing it's bad with that look on your face. What did he say? Is he okay? Is it what granny suspected? Does he need any…"

"Shut Up! One question at a time, shitty hair! Jeez!" The blonde sighed, crossing his arms. "It's not what the old cow suspected, it's worse, way worse." Katsuki then went on to explain what was said between himself and the head Alpha, the other's face pulling sour with each minute, settling on determination.

"I can't believe this. That's really disgusting man, I don't understand how they could do this. Some people are just sick dude, and it looks like the whole village is sick. No worries bro, I'll definitely deliver these letters, I hope all of them will ally with us, we don't know how many forces that village has, best to be as prepared as can be." Then the redhead looked at his friend mischievously. "So, you're going to be looking after him? That's unusual for you bro." His grin spread wide.

"Tch! It's only because he hasn't met anyone else yet and is still skittish. I don't want him to go into drop." Katsuki looked away, his ears turning a faint pink.

"Nah dude, I know you. You usually ain't bothered by any Omega, you ain't got time for any of them. You care about this one, don't you? Did you imprint?"

The blonde dropped his hands, small sparks igniting from his palms. "Shut it shitty hair! I'm just doing what's best for the pack!"

Eijiro cackled at Katsuki's outburst, wiping imaginary tears from his eyes. "I'll take that as a yes. Man, I am so happy for you bro, It's about time you found someone for yourself. I'm sure you'll sweep him off his feet in no time man!"

"Are you mad you idiot?! He just woke up! After running for his life from an abusive pack! What the fuck is going on in that empty fucking head of yours?! Do you really fucking think me courting him is a good fucking idea!?" He grabbed his hair in his fists out of frustration. "Of course, I want to court him and bond with him, but I can't do that! He needs to heal and he needs someone there to help him, not sniff after him!" His scent started to spike in embarrassment.

"Whoa whoa, dude. Calm down." Eijiro held his hands up in a placating manner, letting out soothing pheromones of hickory and nutmeg, in order to help calm down his friend. "I get it man, but it's not going to take forever for him to heal, he will be okay someday, and while he is healing, you can help and support him, let him know you are there for him. Get him to trust you and learn that you care about him."

Katsuki huffed in agitation ."No, you still don't get it, I don't want him to have a hero complex. I don't want him to come to care about me just because I kept him safe. I want him to care about the real me, for who I am. That's why this is so difficult. It would be better if I wasn't the one caring for him so that he can come to know me outside of the savior role, but my Alpha won't let anyone else look after him. It's tearing me apart at how much it wants to protect him and go kill those motherfuckers. I'm not sure what to do."

"I get you man, and I know it's difficult to make sense of what is right and wrong, but have you ever thought of maybe opening up to him as he did to you? Tell him what's going on and explain how you feel. Doesn't he also have the right to choose for himself what will happen to him? Maybe he feels the same for you. Have you ever thought about that? Dude, imprinting goes both ways, maybe that's why he was able to open up to you so soon. I know he wouldn't open up to me in such a short period." He put his hand on Katsuki's shoulder and smiled reassuringly. "Just have a conversation with him, get to know each other, and see where that takes you. I mean you guys don't have to jump each other's bones now ya know."

Katsuki turned around and aimed a kick at Eijiro's backside, his face aflame. "Shut up asshole!"

The redhead jumped away laughing, just dodging the kick. "Bro, you know I only mean well."

The blonde rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah… Thanks… I'll give your words some thought, I guess. Anyway, you better get a move on, Aizawa wants those letters delivered with haste. We need to act as soon as possible before things get worse over there."

Eijiro nodded in understanding. "Yeah man, I'm just going to pack up my travel sack and then get headed out after I've eaten. It will probably take me about a week and a half to deliver these." He was looking in the knapsack to see the names on all the letters. "Yeah, About that long, but I'll try and do it in a week." He looked up at Katsuki with a grin. "Don't worry man, no one will ever hurt your Omega ever again."

"Yeah yeah shitty hair." He turned towards the door. "I'm gonna head back to my cabin and check up on him." He lifted his hand to wave back at Eijiro about to walk out.

"Tell him I said that I hope he gets better soon! Look after him Kats!"

Leaving Eijiro's cabin, he made his way to his own in the hopes that the Omega was still asleep and not waking up alone. He wasn't sure what would happen if Izuku was on his own while awake. Hoping he doesn't leave the cabin. It was well past midnight and he didn't want the Omega to end up in a precarious situation.

While he was on his way to his cabin he decided to think on Eijiro's words. He knew he was partly right, that there was a connection between himself and Izuku, and that the Omega would be more open with him than with anyone else. Izuku seemed more relaxed awake around him than unconscious around anyone else. While he was out and if another came near him, the Omega would squirm, and his inner Alpha would howl at him, telling him to keep the Omega away from anyone else. When granny Chiyo had been fixing him up, Izuku would flinch at every touch to the point that granny Chiyo had grabbed Katsuki's and pulled his wrist against the Omega's. It did seem to help calm Izuku down and Katsuki's inner Alpha quietened down somewhat.

He so badly wanted to comfort and soothe the smaller one, hold him close and scent him for hours, maybe even days. He had to fight with himself and his inner Alpha to hold back lest he makes the Omega panic and scares him off. He wanted to help the Omega, not hurt him. He wasn't sure how to go about helping the Omega overcome his past trauma. Maybe Eijiro was right, maybe he should sit down with Izuku and talk to him about everything, but not before he was healed. Besides, he still needed to get properly acquainted with him, teach him about his village, and introduce him to everyone. He also wanted to see if there was anything Izuku needed or wanted since the Omega was never allowed anything in the old village, He wanted to spoil Izuku first, get him to relax, and feel like this was his home.

Once Izuku was healed, healthy, and whole, then he would talk to him. Yes, he decided that was what he would do. As he reached his door, he paused and took in a deep breath before letting himself in quietly in case Izuku was asleep. He closed the door and turned around to look into the dim room, only the moon shining through the cotton sheet over the window. He heard a rustling coming from the nest and then a fearful whine. He looked towards the nest, making out a figure sitting up, holding a blanket up to their chin. It seems he was awake after all. He let out a breath, grateful the Omega had not left.

He held up his hands in a show to mean he meant no harm. "It's me, Katsuki. I'm sorry that I left. May I come closer to your nest?" He heard a quiet chirp in response, knowing that it meant permission. Kneeling down beside the nest, he let out calming pheromones. He could see Izuku's shoulder slump down in relief. "How are you feeling? Any pain?"

The Omega shuffled toward Katsuki in the hopes to see him better in the dark. After being able to make out his features in the bit of moonlight he answered. "There is not much pain, and I am feeling much better, thank you."

Sitting down on the floor in front of the nest, Katsuki held up a hand. "Would you like me to scent you a little bit? I might help you sleep better?"

Izuku shook his head. "Not yet, I want to ask you something if I may."

Katsuki lowered his hand to his lap. "Sure, you can always ask me anything and I will make sure to answer you as best I can. What would you like to ask me?"

Izuku fiddled with the blanket while he look timidly at the Alpha. "What service do you require of me while I am here?"

Furrowing his brows, Katsuki tilted his head in confusion. "I'm sorry, what? Service? What do you mean by service?"

Tilting his head down, the Omega replied softly. "What do you require as payment for looking after me? I will do anything you ask."

The Alpha dropped his face in his hands, struggling to keep back a growl. He took a deep breath before letting it out then looked up at the Omega. "Deku, you do not owe me any service, I need you to understand that the village that abused you, is nothing like this village. We are a true pack. We all watch out for each other, look after each other and help each other, and we don't expect repayment for that. We all work together to keep this village safe and running."

"Then what am I to do with myself? I can't just sit here doing nothing while another does all the work to help me" The Omega was looking at Katsuki now in confusion and worry.

Smiling at Izuku, the Alpha huffed. "But you're not doing nothing. You're healing, and in this pack, health is more important than work. If you still want to do something after you are done healing, then, by all means, we can find something for you to do. You need to be in tip-top condition to be able to work in this village. For now, you just need to rest to allow your wounds to heal, and eat so you can gain some… um… I don't mean this as an insult, but you really need to get some fat on those bones of yours, I'm worried you'll snap like a twig just trying to stand."

The Omega looked away sheepishly. "I'm sorry."

"Why are you saying sorry? Don't, please. I'm sorry I said something like that, but I just want you to be healthy. If you get bored, I can always teach you how to read and write. You will need to be able to do that to work in this village. So what do you say?" He was suddenly struck by the sweetest scent he had ever smelt, smelling of honeysuckle and cedar. Looking up, he saw that Izuk's eyes were wide open and sparkling with interest, a smile forming that threatened to blind him.

"You'll teach me to read and write?!" He had his hands clasped together in front of his chest, the look of hope on his face. Well, at least Katsuki now knew what could distract the Omega from trying to work until he had healed up fully.

"Yes, I will teach you. We can start tomorrow okay? But for now, you need to sleep, you'll need a lot of energy to study tomorrow, and we don't want you falling asleep in the process now do we?"

Izuku shook his head frantically. "No, I don't want to fall asleep tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I can fall asleep now, I feel much too excited." He furrowed his brows looking down.

"Let me scent your wrists, it might help you to fall asleep." He lifted his hands up to the Omega again, holding his wrist out. Izuku hesitated for a moment before slowly reaching out and gently rubbing their wrists together, their scents mixing well together. They both felt calm and serenity washed over them. Izuku pulled away first, his eyes drooping slightly. "Alright then, let's go to sleep. I'll be on the other side of the room in my bed in case you wake up in the middle of the night and need anything. Don't hesitate to wake me if you need me." He stood up and stretched his back, hearing the popping sounds from his spine. "Good night Deku."

Snuggling back into his nest, Izuku let out a soft purr. "Good night."

Katsuki knew he would sleep well hearing that purr through the night. He made his way over to the bed and pulled off his boots and shirt. Sliding into his furs on the bed, he couldn't help the smile that came to his face. He was very happy with how the Omega was with him and that he could look after him, keep him safe and help him heal. He made a promise to himself that night that he would do anything for Izuku to become his mate someday when he was ready. He drifted off into peaceful sleep to the sounds of a sleepy and happy Omega.
